Charlotte Townend

Welcome to Only People Matter Talks series, hosted by Charlotte Townend, coach, owner and founder of Only People Matter Ltd. Founded In 2018 and inspired by my Grandma Pamela Francis Townend, who instilled in me, the importance of kindness, and love towards all people. Her words spoke to me throughout my life and created my soundtrack “You can have all the money in the world, but in the end ‘Only People Matter. We are on a mission to spread her message and help millions of people reach their goals and join together to create a more emotionally connected and accepted society.Ordinary People, Extraordinary Stories (June 2020©) is a series I created which dedicates a space for people within the community to tell their stories. We hear from professionals, famous people, chefs, make up artists and YouTubers about their lives day in day out, but what about the people that go unnoticed, that don’t always have a platform? What about their stories? Now more than ever we need to unite and ensure that people do not feel alone, we are all in this together.

Only People Matter presents our talks series, Ordinary People, Extraordinary Stories. This is a series I created, which dedicates a space for people within our communities to tell their stories. It’s often the people who go unnoticed and do not have a platform who need it the most.

Episode 3 features Laura Stearman, who since the age of 15 has suffered with Endometriosis (a long term condition affecting women) which has changed her life forever. She discusses years of being misdiagnosed, having an invisible illness and her life long battle with mental health conditions.

Her story should give us all the strength to know that in the face of extreme adversity, we can battle against all odds, find ways to cope, survive and thrive. Her story is incredibly inspiring and humbling. I couldn’t feel anymore privileged that she has taken the time and energy to tell her story for us.

Please share this with anyone who you know may be experiencing any of the conditions discussed during this episode. It could make all the difference.

The chosen charity for this weeks episode is Endometriosis UK - To donate please visit www.endometriosis-org.uk

Endometriosis UK helps women to take back control by providing vital support services, reliable information and a community for those affected by endometriosis. Endometriosis devastates the lives of women and their families. One in ten women endure unrelenting pain that affects every aspect of their lives each day. That’s over 1.5 million women who desperately need support and information to help them understand this chronic condition.

Ordinary People, Extraordinary Stories is a series I’ve created which dedicates a space for people within our communities to tell their stories. The people that go unnoticed and do not have a platform are often the ones who we need to hear from the most.

The second episode features Eleni Bradshaw, owner of Thrills of The Emporium, where she discussed running a small independent shop on the high street and how she moved to online. All of this while juggling two beautiful children. I hope you enjoy.

Instead of choosing a charity my challenge is for everyone who is watching to go and find three independent businesses online or on the high street and go and show your support...WRITE THE NAMES OF THESE IN THE COMMENTS BELOW😁

This first episode features Daniel Harvey where we discuss all things LGBTQ+ and hear his story about growing up and becoming the amazing person he is today. I hope you enjoy!

My chosen charity for this episode is Stonewall - https://www.stonewall.org.uk. “We're here to let all lesbian, gay, bi and trans people, here and abroad, know they're not alone.”

“We believe we're stronger united, so we partner with organisations that help us create real change for the better. We have laid deep foundations across Britain - in some of our greatest institutions - so our communities can continue to find ways to flourish, and individuals can reach their full potential. We’re here to support those who can’t yet be themselves.”
