In this episode, I sit down Mayo based with Visual Artist, Katie Moore.

Katie creates incredibly delicate & evocative installations.

What Katie says of her work... '
I explore empathy and memorialisation by creating environments the viewer can experience. My work is inspired by my own life experiences living with long-term illness. My illness has forced me to spend long periods in hospital and home isolation, it is these experiences that most influence my work. I use various medium including textiles, drawing, video to create installations. My work is very conceptually driven. Each process and action within the process is very considered. The materials I use are relevant to each concept I am exploring at the time. Human conditions such as empathy, isolation, trauma, loss, memory are recurrent themes within my practice.'

We chat about so many things from, how she went to Art college as a mature student, whilst also living with long-term illness and also talk in depth about her installation 'Entropy' which is beautifully delicate and is such a powerful emotive piece of work.

I hope you enjoy it and you come away feeling inspired by this conversation with Katie. If so please do share, like & subscribe!

Elouise creates vibrant and uplifting abstract paintings.

Elouise says of her artwork…

'I’m inspired by ancient folklore and mythical creatures and I try to bring that magic and mystery into my work. I create layers upon layers of paint to create depth and translucency, as if the subjects are travelling in this abstract realm. I use symbols of flowers and bees to explore themes of connection, ritual and love'

We chat about so many things from, how she returned to painting after going to Art college, her love of colour and adding layers to each painting and her worth and value as an artist.

Today I talk to Jude Fenton, who is a Visual Artist living and working in Belfast. Her current work is predominantly with watercolour, creating wonderfully delicate landscapes.

I meet Jude a few years ago when we both took part in the Art Source Fair inDublin & we have continued to keep in contact. With a background in textiles, it has only been since the birth of her daughter that she decided to pick up a paint brush and experiment with a more personal sense of creativity.

We talk all things, art, business, motherhood & inspiration.

Hope you enjoy this episode, please share if so.
