We are finishing up our Enneagram and Relationships mini series featuring the book "The Path Between Us" (affiliate link). We bring in Enneagram life coach expert, Callie Ammons, to talk about Enneagram subtypes for 5s, 6s, & 7s. Callie's three part interview is split up over the triads (8s, 9s, 1s in episode 74, 2s, 3s, 4s in episode 75, & 5s, 6s, 7s in episode 76).

Subtypes are variations of each Enneagram personality type. There are three subtypes to each Enneagram number: the Social Subtype, the One to One Subtype, & the Self Preservation Subtype. Here's how these subtypes would act in a social setting:

  • Social Subtype: Walks into a party, know the important person is (to them), and wants to win approval from that person.
  • One to One Subtype: Walks into a party, wants deep connection or a fun conversation, and seeks that out.
  • Self Preservation Subtype: Walks into a party, wants to know the environment first (where's the food, the bathroom, the place to sit, etc...)

We break down the Enneagram Subtypes to the head/thinking triad (5s, 6s, & 7s). Remember that if your number doesn't fall into this category, it's the number of someone you care about. Play the episode (located above) and see the details below about subtypes.
