The Kingdom of Heaven came to fundamentally change our lives on a daily basis. John wants us to know that the communion of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is available to us right now, regardless of our circumstances.
Preached 12/24/17
John the Baptist was a man of thresholds--they are mysterious, full of potential and always very dramatic. It is the will of the Father to free us from our sin, and baptism is a threshold through which we step to do that.
There are consequences to unbelief, but living as if our master is a good master frees us to invest the gifts and talents we are given and reap incredible rewards.
The Apostle John captures something essential to being a Christian, and it is something completely different than how the world thinks a kingdom is established. It is all about heart-to-heart relationship and leaning into the heart of God. Speaker: Fr. Eirik Olsen
