Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. If you care about teenagers and their mental health, the rush to legalize marijuana in America is a bad idea. The THC count - THC is the active ingredient in pot - is 68% higher in the pot teens are smoking today that it was back in the 70s. This is not your father’s dope. And the problem is that pot has a dramatic effect on developing teen brains. The part of the brain that controls problem solving, memory, language and judgment is not fully developed until age 25, and marijuana messes with that part of the growing brain. As a result, we are seeing an epidemic of dope-induced psychosis, addiction, suicide, depression and anxiety. As drug treatment consultant Ben Cort says, “The bottom line is, weed ain’t for kids in any form - eating it, vaping it, smoking it. It’s not okay.”
