Meet Hattie and her daughter Blanche, real people whose real diaries were abandoned in the old farmhouse when we bought it. There are no relatives known to give them to. Hattie's first diary found here was from 1890. I won't reveal anything graphic or personal. As a matter of fact, most things are pretty mundane and hopefully will relax the listener.

Leon was 22 years old in 1900. While his daily entries were not very varied, I give him credit for keeping up with his diary.

Hattie's Diary, 1912.
Not every day had been journaled. Many mentions of folks' names, some local that I recognize, and some I have not.
Hattie mentions a man going to state prison...research shows that was for adultery.

Gertie had been married to Herman Dickerman but was now being courted by Mr. Carpenter.
