The Intimate Lifestyle: Recent Episodes

Ryan Thomas

Bringing balance to men’s inner warrior and lover energies.

If a sword is too hard, it becomes brittle and it shatters. Too soft, and the sword bends in half. The samurai sword is the perfect combination of hard and soft metals.

In the same way, in order for a man to have an incredibly fulfilling relationship and amazing sex, he needs to learn to find that balance of hard and soft inside himself. As a result, he becomes magnetically attractive as the perfect balance of a lover and a warrior.

This show uses several modalities and topics to help men cultivate that inner balance, in order to get the relationship and sex life they desire.

In this series of interviews, I talk to men who have healed their, previously horrible, relationship to their father. Children who grow up without fathers tend to have more mental health issues, more rates of suicide, more issues in school (higher drop out rates), and a whole slew of other issues. It's undebatable the importance of our fathers. Unfortunately, many men have either grown up with an abusive or absent father. Naturally, this creates distance between them and their dad, along with resentment, distrust, anger and sadness. I wanted to speak with men who had gone through their pain, and healed their relationships with their fathers. This episode shares the story of Dave Weale. His biological dad left when he was a child, and his step-father was his dad. Dave, a men's coach in Vancouver, talks about how he met his biological father. He also shares how his relationship with his step-father has improved over the years. If you'd like to reach out to Dave, you can find him on Facebook, and that's where you can find his show about psychedelics! This episode is all about the King, Warrior, Magician, Lover archetypes. Every man has a King in him. And a Warrior, and a Magician and a Lover.

If one of these "energies" is being neglected, it will sabotage your life, perhaps through procrastination on work projects. Or avoidance of hard conversations or a lot of relationship breakups.

When you understand which of your archetypes is being neglected, you can bring yourself back to balance and into your natural power.

If you enjoy deep psychological work, Jungian psychology, and getting into what makes each of us tick as men, then this is up your alley.

Many people put on a mask when they make a new friend, or start dating someone. They assume that wearing a mask is the same as being private.

But that's not true. You can still be you, but not disclose information about your thoughts or your feelings.

If you wear a mask, you're attempting to lie to the other person, trying to control their perception of you by telling them you're something other than who you are.

Wearing a mask will always result in feeling unfulfilled. Even if you get what you want, you'll never feel truly seen or truly loved.

This was a juicy episode with Gillian Pothier. Gillian is a depth psychologist with advanced immersion in Jungian and Archetypal psychology.

Gillian specializes in the masculine/feminine relationship and how, in order to maintain deep passion in a relationship, there needs to be hierarchy. For instance, that hierarchy states that the man (the masculine) leads, and the woman (the feminine) submits.

At first glance, this seems archaic in thinking but, when you listen to Gillian, she speaks not of subservient, disempowered women. Rather, she speaks of honour, and how women can honour men (the masculine) and vice versa. But, in order for us to do so, we need to accept our energetic differences. That means that one person, energetically, is going to be the leader (the masculine), and the other the follower (the feminine. Typically the woman).

It's in our differences as men and women that we can compliment one another. If we're the same, there's nothing to compliment. But, when we give up some of our power to the other person, that can be triggering, because it's vulnerable. But it's that vulnerability that brings us closer together.

This episode won't suit everyone.

If you like what Gillian speaks of, you can find her here and here.

First and foremost, as a disclaimer, if you're looking for emotional healing, go to a trained therapist and/or counsellor.  Coaches can help moving forward in life, but a coach can't replace therapists/counsellors. the best combination is to work with a coach and a therapist in tandem.

If you can't afford either, then this episode will give you a start in your emotional healing journey. I've had a lot of people ask "How can I get rid of negative emotions?" There are many ways one go about doing this on their own. This episode is a start to that answer.

This is a personal, and rather emotional story. I don't often share this much, so this is quite a vulnerable episode for me. But, considering how powerful my most recent experience on psilocybin mushrooms (magic mushrooms) was, I wanted to share. (this was an "Ego Death" not an actual death...but it felt like it.)

It was by far, the most challenging spiritual journey I've endured, and also the most rewarding. I came face to face with my own mortality.

I don't know if this is going to be supportive.

I don't know if this is going to be helpful.

I did, however, simply want to share this experience because of it's profundity in my life.

How do you become a man? How do you know you're a man? In many cultures, a right of passage is designed to rip a boy from his mother. It then teaches him pain and struggle, because life is fucking hard and dangerous. Provided he makes it through the pain and the struggle, he is then initiated into manhood.

Jeddy Azuma is dedicated to helping men go through their rights of passage into manhood. Our lives, as men, are lacking in the guidance our ancestors had.

This is a truly fantastic conversation, with an amazing man. You can find out more about Jeddy and his initiations here.

A relationship won't work if both people are completely equal. One person needs to take the lead. In a heteronormative relationship (in which this podcast is based), that is going to be the man.

Many people may get triggered by this, but there's a difference between leadership, and dominating the other person.

Here's an explanation into the necessity of leadership of one person in a relationship, and how to do it right.

If you've been following The Intimate Lifestyle, you’d know that I've been MIA on the podcast scene for a bit as I decided to focus on other aspects of the brand. However, this episode is just too good to pass up on, and so here I am talking about passion, sex and wellness with Susan Bratton.

Susan Bratton is at the forefront of a movement in sex and relationships. Alongside her husband, she is the CEO and co-founder of Personal Life Media. Through this initiative she has produced numerous online courses and publications including the Amazon best-seller Sexual Soulmates: The 6 Essentials For Connected Sex. An expert in this arena, she’s helped millions of people ignite and rekindle the passion in their sex lives and relationships.

It’s something different having a woman’s point of view talking about penile health. The topics Susan and I covered run the gamut, from thrusting techniques, freezies, how heart disease starts in the penis, and the life changing magic of lickin’ and dickin’. Other points we’ve chatted about are:

  • An anecdote about a guy who kicked Susan out of the bedroom, Facebook stalking and getting the last laugh (05:12)
  • Being an intercourse-orgasm late bloomer and the process towards mind-blowing sex and orgasms. (07:34)
  • Thrusting techniques that create better, longer, and more intense stimulation for women. (13:29)
  • Shrinking penises and loosening vaginas, other sexual health issues, and methods of sexual restoration. (20:08)
  • Penis pumps, my experience using one, and what penis pumping should feel like. (25:31)
  • The shame surrounding penis size and determining the need for penis enlargement. (32:08)
  • How non-ejaculatory orgasms and multi-orgasmic states can result to a bigger penis, the concepts of edging and riding the wave, and improving sexual stamina and orgasms through breathing. (35:10)
  • Tips and tricks to maintain prostate health. (45:54)
  • How our lifestyle choices negatively impact hormone levels, libido, and whole well-being. (57:01)

This was a refreshing episode, and I gotta admit, I think I missed sharing experiences and absorbing wisdom through these conversations. Susan and I really just scratched the surface but if you want to learn more about Susan and her life’s work, visit BetterLover.com or keep updated through Instagram @susanbratton.

She’s also provided useful resources for anyone who wants to improve their relationships, sex, and lives through Personal Life Media.

Authenticity and honesty are concepts that have been iterated time and again in the show and from the guests as one of the key components of successful relationships and meaningful life.

This time around, we have the main proponent of radical honesty to speak about what he’s been advocating and teaching for the last 25 years.

Brad Blanton is a psychotherapist, author, workshop leader, speaker, and the founder of Radical Honesty Enterprises. His team conducts more than a hundred workshops per year, plus coachings and meetup groups to share with the world how radical honesty can positively impact lives.

Brad joins me as this episode’s guest as we talk about his bestselling book Radical Honesty -- a book that changed my life immensely. Some might think that radical honesty can result in judging and hurting people, but what Brad offers is a genuine and honest expression that allows you to transform your life and your relationships.

Brad unpacks the objectives as well as consequences of practicing radical honesty in the various aspects of our lives. We also touched on a bit of politics too.

Some of the areas we covered in this episode include:

  • An overview of his work and business that grew into what it is today, and why he attributes the recent boost of his book sales to Donald Trump. (04:07)
  • What radical honesty means, how it goes against society's conventions, and why ‘the fake it ‘til you make it’ attitude of pretending and lying can be detrimental to our lives. (06:04)
  • How to engage with people and live life practicing more honesty. (12:46)
  • Radical honesty when it comes to job interviews and recruitment. (18:50)
  • Why Brad recommends being honest at the risk of offending and hurting people, and the value of forgiveness. (23:59)
  • Understanding our assumptions and perceptions of the world, the difference between the two concepts, and the conflicts that arise from these. (29:11)
  • The importance of sticking around after you've been honest with someone. (32:50)
  • The information that Brad suggests to disclose if someone cheats in a relationship and why the need for these details? (34:28)
  • The faulty values of righteousness and moralism. (37:36)
  • A proof of how radical honesty works even in the political arena. (43:42)
  • Radical honesty in pick-up arts and dating. (45:40)
  • The difference between brutal and genuine honesty, and tapping vulnerability and relationship intimacy. (53:09)
  • The consequences of practicing radical honesty which can lead to better family or relationship dynamics. (59:27)
  • Dealing with the phases of anger, how it leads to forgiveness, and the process of forgiveness. (1:03:04)
  • A new workshop his team is working on that merges personal growth with politics. (1:09:29)

Living life authentically is something that I promote so I want more people to learn about it. If you want to discover more about Radical Honesty and how it can improve your life, get a free copy of Intro to Radical Honesty.

If you’re interested in their workshops and other services, you may reach Brad and his team at www.radicalhonesty.com, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Brad's books are all available on Amazon, including Radical Honesty and Practicing Radical Honesty.

As for me, I'm still a bit on the fence when it comes to approaching women with radical honesty. I guess I'm going to have to see if it will be effective for me. Maybe I’ll give you an update how it goes.

One place where you can practice radical honesty though is by reaching out to me at ryan [at] theintimatelifestyle [dot] com for your feedback, suggestions, and questions. I’d love to hear your honest thoughts.

Decoding other people’s intentions isn’t always the easiest task. Plus, there always seems to be a disconnect when it comes to men and women understanding each other's needs. The disconnect becomes apparent when individuals are in a relationship and their deficiencies in providing what the other needs become the root of disagreements.

The Intimate Lifestyle invited this week’s guest, John Wineland, to shed some light on this matter. John is an LA-based men's group facilitator, author, speaker and teacher who guides men, women, couples, and groups in the field of spiritual intimacy and yogic sexuality so they may deepen their relationships and connections.

I watched one talk John gave about what men crave and I was immediately hooked to the message he’s sending out to the world. This conversation was mind-blowing for me and I'm excited to share it with you. I must warn you though, expect a lot of realizations and incredible insights that might possibly change your life and how you show up to the world from this episode.

John and I zeroed in on what men crave and how men can lead, but there are various topics that we’ve touched on including:

  • How yogic sexuality enables people to experience sex in a deeper level with a physical, emotional, and energetic component. (03:50)
  • What are men and women's different relationship needs and motivation, and how each can help and support the other accomplish these. (06:46)
  • Understanding freedom and how it is related to commitment and relationships. (11:11)
  • How men crave feminine energy and the qualities men find valuable in women. (16:48)
  • Men's realization of their craving for the deepest experience of the feminine heart. (22:57)
  • The three levels of masculinity that manifest in the real world and how masculinity can free women. (28:36)
  • The concept of leadership, surrender, trust, and the whole power dynamics in relationships. (37:55)
  • Masculine qualities that women yearn for but men haven't learned and aren't necessarily trained to be. (47:01)
  • How men can assume leadership without stripping women of power and control, what good masculine leadership looks like, and what individuals value in the present time. (50:00)

Now that was a really thought-provoking discussion, wasn’t it? What he teaches should be made available as part of basic life skills and learnings if you ask me. And I definitely urge you to share this episode far and wide so men and women all over the world get to understand each other and themselves a little better.

John and I are merely scratching the surface and if you want more of this, get in touch with John through his website. You can also read his contributions for mindbodygreen, and watch his talks and other videos on YouTube. Also, catch the original talk that I listened to on What Men Crave.

Now, when I first saw a podcast interview that today’s guest had been a part of entitled ‘Fucking a Man’s Heart Open’, I automatically wondered what it meant.

We have EJ Love, the Love Priestess on today’s show to share her knowledge as a love, relationship, and sex coach. She helps her clients figure out their relationships and lives by focusing on self-love, communication, soul connection, and spiritual rituals.

Before we go directly to this insightful episode, here’s an exclusive offer for The Intimate Lifestyle followers. If you go to adamandeve.com, there is a discount code that you can use to avail of 50% DISCOUNT on any one item, plus FREE SHIPPING. Input the discount code SEXTALKS upon checkout to redeem this deal.

EJ and I had a very interesting discussion where we tackled the female orgasm, fucking a man’s heart open and ghosting, just to name a few. Specifics that we chatted about include:

  • How working as an escort steered her into this path and how tantric massage became a catalyst towards positive change. (09:10)
  • Who is ultimately responsible for women's orgasm. (15:41)
  • Fucking a man's heart open through a woman's vulnerability, and how this realization happened to EJ. (18:48)
  • Making it possible to fuck a man's heart open. (27:06)
  • Bridging the disconnect between men and women's communication. (35:18)
  • Acknowledging men's efforts to make women happy and how we tend to self-sabotage. (42:15)
  • The purpose of the process of living and an experiment in practicing radical honesty. (46:25)
  • EJ's perception of how we unconsciously encourage people into ghosting us. (51:56)

This is such an enlightening conversation. So many realizations about communication, sex, relationships, and life. I highly suggest that you share this episode with your circle. Everyone can learn a thing or two from this.

If you can’t get enough of this, you can reach EJ through her Website. You can also stay updated with her on Facebook and Instagram.

Women complain that it's always the creeps and arrogant jerks who approach them. Good men, on the other hand, complain that women always choose these jerks over them.

There's an apparent disconnect in this equation that needs to be addressed, and today's podcast guest might be the key to bridge that gap.

Diana Mandell is a psychotherapist, working as a relationship coach for the last 6 years. She helps men, women, and couples find and maintain healthy and sustainable relationships. Diana and her work have been featured in various international publications including Martha Stuart Weddings, New York Post, and Forbes.

But before we go to the meat of the conversation, I would like to remind you of this amazing deal from adamandeve.com where listeners of the Intimate Lifestyle get 50% OFF on any one item and FREE SHIPPING. Just use the promo code SEXTALKS when you checkout.

Today, Diana and I discussed the state of human social interactions, why women are attracted to jerks and helping shy guys to build confidence to talk with women. Some of the specific topics we chatted about include:

  • Diana’s background and her current work as a relationship coach. (03:58)
  • The paradoxical social interaction dilemma people are having these days, an idea on how to improve communication, and ways technology can sometimes sabotage it. (04:40)
  • How her past experience in dating and relationships as a 'shit magnet' motivated her to help shy guys in dating and relationships. (09:59)
  • Doing roleplays and her level of involvement when working with her clients. (16:51)
  • Treading the line between being confident enough to approach women and being misconstrued as creepy or cocky. (22:03)
  • Why guys think that being a jerk can win the girl, why girls sometimes choose jerks and ways for shy guys to find a girl. (30:14)
  • The looks-personality dynamics, attraction, the friendzone, and Tinder. (35:46)
  • Crossing the friendzone, expressing interest, and taking control of a situation or interaction. (45:11)
  • The mindset shift Diana guides her clients through and what happens during and is included in her coaching. (57:16)
  • Diana's concept of the numbers game by dating smarter. (1:03:03)

I hope this episode was able to provide insights and practical tips for shy men to get the confidence boost that they want and need, men in general on how to better interact with women, and for women to play a more active role in dating.

This week’s guest is an expert that we’ve previously had in the show. His name – Phil Mistlberger. Phil is a transpersonal therapist for more than 30 years. His workshops on personal growth, shadow work, and depth psychology were a treasure trove of knowledge for me. I want to share the lessons I’ve acquired through his guidance to the Intimate Lifestyle listeners and so I’ve brought him back to the show.

Phil joins us to share his insights and expertise on a subject that people usually sweep under the rug. More recently though, people have been expressing this emotion so openly for everyone to see via social media. I’m talking about Anger.

Phil talks about how this seemingly primal reaction can serve as your gateway into understanding complex human behavior and emotions. Some specifics that Phil and I touched on in this truly informative episode are:

  • Why I am scared of talking to Phil about anger, what's the deal with fearing anger. (03:55)
  • What's a green knight, who's the green knight in our lives, and what's their role? (07:27)
  • The importance of our attitude, introspection, mindfulness, and boundaries on our reaction and response to external stimuli. (09:47)
  • A mountain retreat and an ill-tempered dog that made Phil realize his own faults and how shifts in consciousness can create changes in his reality. (19:21)
  • Holding anger for too long, the reason for seeking vengeance, and the reason for forgiveness. (23:19)
  • The three ways to deal with anger, the value in understanding it, and what happens when we refuse to take responsibility for our actions and emotions. (32:20)
  • Tibetan Buddhist teachings on transforming anger towards clarity, and preventing the vengeance game. (41:36)
  • Repressed anger and idle minds manifesting as depression or anxiety, and methods to break out of these through creative outlets or honest communication. (44:31)
  • I tell Phil that I forgot to hit record, tell him about my fear of his anger (due to previous work over the years with him), and his response. I kept this in because, although vulnerable for me, it's a great example of this topic (56:46)
  • How anger and our perception of other people's anger prevent us from communicating authentically. (57:31)

This episode is a goldmine of information when it comes to managing our anger and how it affects our day-to-day. It is something that almost everyone can use in their lives and pick up important points from.

When you think of sex parties, you might picture one of those rowdy college parties with overflowing alcohol and drugs. Where people are having intoxicated sex and wakes up the next day without any memory of what happened last night.

Today's guest hosts sex parties. The parties that Kim/Cleopatra calls 'play parties' is the complete opposite of the party that was described earlier though. It is so classy, it starts with conversations over wine and cheese, posh accents are optional. I recently became a part of one of her invite-only sex party, and if there's one word to describe it, it was amazing. Or maybe epic.

I invited her to the podcast so we can talk about everything that happens in her sex parties, how she organizes them, the interaction between the participants, and how to get invited. Some of the things discussed in our conversation are:

  • A little backstory on our lives that led us to Vancouver and the path we chose. (04:06)
  • People's reactions, and double-standards, when she talks about her play party experience. (10:46)
  • How she got into the world of play parties. (15:21)
  • The empowering and gratifying experience of play parties relating to consent. (20:41)
  • What led her to start coordinating and hosting her own play parties. (27:11)
  • My experience with the available matches in sex clubs and our basis for attraction. (32:30)
  • Networking, the platforms used, and the selection process for Kim's play parties. (40:28; 47:00)
  • The play party experience and how sensory overload impacts sexual performance. (41:21)
  • The rules of Kim's play parties, cleaning your junk rituals, and the significance of the olfactory sense in sex. (54:35; 1:06:19)
  • The experience of joining her play party and the general attitude of the people in the party. (1:08:25)
  • Why she recommends sex parties instead of joining a couple for a threesome. (1:12:40)
  • Why it's ok to see women coming even if the men are not. (1:24:14)
  • Ensuring sexual health, preventing sexually transmitted infections and/or diseases, and even limiting transmission of hepatitis C. (1:31:13)
  • Dealing with drama and disagreements. (1:39:15)
  • Setting an awesome atmosphere and setting boundaries through communication. (1:46:35)
  • The endorphin-boosting ambiance of the party. (1:54:28)
  • What single guys must do to be able to get invited to Kim's play parties. (1:59:34)

Now, get ready because this episode is about to get heavy. This conversation is so mind-blowing that I found myself at a loss for words at some points. A treasure trove of information and insights on the human psychology and sexuality awaits you as we have no less than Farzana Jaffer Jeraj to scratch the surface of this iceberg.

Farzana Jaffer Jeraj is a motivational speaker, coach, hypnosis trainer and best-selling author, among the many other hats she put on. Her career spans more than 20 years with a mission to help people realize their potential and achieve their goals.

Today, we talk about subconscious sexual communication, and if the term alone discombobulates you, Farzana aims to shed light on the subject. We delved into the link of our upbringing, how our parental figures communicated, and how these impact our communication styles when it comes to relationships and sex in adulthood.

Farzana aims to explain this complex subject in layman's term for more people to understand. Some of the topics that Farzana touched into and explained are:

  • What a coach was called before it was called a coach and which big-name provided her first training. (06:06)
  • How cognitive neuroscience work to understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviour, among others, are formed. (08:54)
  • The link between hypnosis, emotional responses, communication styles, and our parental figures. (17:33)
  • Children's hypnosis-ready state and how one's upbringing determines communication styles in their adult life. (22:02)
  • The difference between extroverted and introverted communicators and how to identify them. (28:33)
  • How the communication styles of the parents (or the lack of communication) affect their children's future sexual expression. (37:54; 47:43)
  • Introversion and extroversion as it manifests in relationships and sex. (46:15)
  • What is involved in Farzana's hypnotherapy programs and sessions. (50:37)
  • People's various love languages and different expectations from relationships and sex. (57:51)
  • How one's sexual expression isn't based on their gender but their upbringing. (1:03:10)

If you want to know more about Farzana and the services that she offers, connect with her through her website. Check out her Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter as well for updates.

Also, if you want to get more in-depth information on the books Farzana and I have been discussing on this episode, they are available online. The books are The Erotic Mind by Jack Morin and Professional Hypnotism Manual by John Kappas.

Herpes is a condition transmitted via skin-to-skin contact. It affects mucosal surfaces like the mouth and around the genitals, and skin in other parts of the body. For most people, however, it is viewed as nothing but a sexually transmitted infection brought about by unprotected sex and promiscuity – and this got to change.

To help us veer away from this stigma and understand the condition more, I invited Laureen Herve Dupenher to the podcast. Laureen has herpes and she unpacks the truth about the condition, living with it, and all its details through her YouTube Channel Laureen HD.

She joins the podcast to provide an overview of the basics and some hot topics. So, listen up to this episode and learn about:

  • Her YouTube channel and the types of content she produces. (02:29)
  • The basics of herpes transmission and susceptibility. (04:12)
  • The best type of protection against herpes. (09:36)
  • Discerning between actual symptoms and the paranoia of the symptoms and transmission. (12:49)
  • Being diagnosed with herpes and her journey with the condition. (16:46)
  • Managing expectations and practicing transparency with partners. (22:36)
  • Healing physically and psychologically from the trauma of contracting herpes. (31:27)
  • Moving towards acceptance, regaining self-confidence, and shared responsibility between partners. (39:21)
  • The statistics surrounding herpes. (47:23)
  • People's responses and reactions upon disclosing that she has herpes. (50:45)

If you want to know more about Laureen and her experience, subscribe to her YouTube channel, Laureen HD. You can also stay updated with her via Instagram, and Facebook.

I’m hoping that this has been insightful for you as it has been for me. Bryan Stacy is back on the show. For those who did not catch my first interview with him, it is available here. In that episode, we talked about Biem, an app Bryan co-founded with the goal of better sexual health, safer sex, and sex-positivity.

This time around, Bryan and I will talk about his testicle – yes, singular. You see, he had testicular cancer and had one of his testicles removed – which is why we're using the singular form of the noun. Bryan will recount the events leading to his testicular cancer diagnoses, what happened during his bout with the affliction, getting over this seemingly traumatic phase, and lessons learned.

It was an awesome and informative conversation that we shared where we covered topics such as:

  • The efficiency and redundancy of our bodily organs and functions. (02:12)
  • Why he waited three months before going to the doctor despite symptoms. (03:18)
  • Chlamydia, treating it, and its complications. (04:38)
  • Self-diagnosing and the texture of a cancer-inflicted testicle. (07:40)
  • The real reason why he finally got checked and how long must you actually wait before getting checked. (11:04)
  • How testicular cancer spreads, the stages, the extent of damage in each stage, and the age group in most danger of testicular cancer. (13:18)
  • The rapid-succession emotional rollercoaster and questions he had upon learning about testicular cancer. (15:20; 18:15)
  • What orchiectomy is, how it is done, and opting out of the prosthetic testicle. (16:16; 18:27)
  • Women's reactions to his lone nut and how it affects sexual performance. (20:37; 26:42)
  • The type of testicular cancer he had and the options given to him to prevent relapse. (28:41)
  • Why he thinks he manifested testicular cancer on himself. (41:46)
  • Fears people experience related to reproductive and sexual health. (43:47)
  • How Brian sees that the ordeal positively affected him by just talking and connecting with people. (34:22; 48:54; 51:49)
  • How he thinks his testicular cancer affects his testosterone levels. (1:02:45)
  • Bryan’s advice to people and how the app, Biem, is trying to fill the void by providing a safe space and credible resource about sexual health. (58:06; 1:06:31)

I did say on the Biem episode that Bryan’s testicular cancer story is worthy of one full episode, and here it is – I hope you enjoyed it. There’s so much to know, learn, realize… from Bryan’s insights, his experience and the mindset he took on the obstacle he went through.

Connect with Bryan on Instagram. To know more about Biem, visit their website BiemTeam.com. The app is available on both Android and iOS devices.

Technology has enabled us all to make leaps and bounds in different facets of our lives. From the most extraordinary feats to the seemingly mundane ways that it is making things easier on our day-to-day. From engineering, transportation, government intelligence, forensic sciences, to medicine, health, dating, and even sex.

Bryan Stacy is one of the pioneers who decided to use technology to spark a change in how we see sexual health and how it impacts our relationhsips. He battled and overcame testicular cancer a few years ago. It is this experience that motivated his passion to raise awareness on sexual health. He co-founded Biem – an app that empowers people to take control of their sexual health and use this information to aid their dating game.

Some of the topics we've explored in our discussion are:

  • How discovering that he has testicular cancer and chlamydia changed the trajectory of his career (03:00).
  • Coping with testicular cancer by blogging about the ailment’s emotional toll (06:48).
  • The early beginnings of Biem, its goals, and crazy ideas they had to achieve their goal (09:05).
  • What is smart sex, and an overview of what the app does and provides (12:43).
  • How the app makes it easier for people to have the conversation about sexual health (18:13).
  • The design of the phone application that secures user data privacy (20:11).
  • Getting information into the app, improving app features and content, and simplifying the information for its users (26:38).
  • How the LGBTQ community are trailblazers in when it comes to sexual health transparency (29:46).
  • Integrating Biem with dating apps, and a few dating apps that we recommend (31:56).
  • Moving away from society's stigma about being tested positive for certain STD/STIs (42:37).
  • The level of people's sexual health awareness based on demographic segments (49:54).
  • The various health complications resulting from STD/STIs and vaccines available for specific STD/STIs (53:17).
  • Opening up the sexual health conversation between parents and their children (1:02:19).

This is an immensely educational episode – and Bryan’s story on his bout with testicular cancer and chlamydia… that can be another episode! Stories of people’s experiences and struggles driving them to make innovations and be the change the world needs are always inspirational. And in this case, it is even practical.

To know more about Biem, visit their website BiemTeam.com or reach out to Bryan via Twitter. Biem, the app, is available for both Android and iOS.

When you hear the word sex worker, usually the first thing that comes to mind are prostitutes, and most of the time, they’re women.

Modern SexTalks has significantly covered the topic of healing sex work with a variety of guests – most of them, however, are female. This time around, we’re looking at sacred sex service from a man’s point of view – and we have James Randall Smith as our guest resource.

James is the founder of Sky Dancer Tantra Massage and Healing Arts. He is a sex worker-slash-healer, working with both men and women – aged 18 to 88. As a sexual healer, his aim is to have people awaken their potential for bliss through sacred sex.

Today we discuss his backstory, shifting careers, the concept of sacred sex and understanding life doing sex work. We also just downright bro’d out. Extra, extra! For our male listeners, tune in if you are interested in a secret to prolonging sexual stamina.

Areas we covered in our discussion include:

  • Transitioning from a career in the music industry towards the spiritual path of sexual healing (06:26).
  • The early beginnings of his sexual awareness and exploration (09:06).
  • An interesting first date that became the gateway to finally transitioning into the spiritual path of sexual healing (12:49).
  • What is MDMA therapy and how it impacts cognitive, emotional and sexual perspectives (14:20).

  • Where he places himself in the gender-sexual spectrum (19:53).
  • Engaging sexually with someone you are not necessarily attracted or attached to (23:07).
  • The unfolding of James' sacred calling of providing spiritual sexual pleasure (32:24).
  • Personal challenges in a career that involves physical contact (35:58).
  • What it means to awaken people to bliss, and the different ways to tap into this (38:10).
  • The various methods and techniques James keeps in his toolbox as a sex worker (43:51).
  • What scared sex is and its difference to the regular, typical sex that majority of society is accustomed to (44:32).
  • What clients want and expect in James' sacred sex sessions and what actually happens in them (51:08).

Having been surrounded by divine feminine energy a lot with my roster of female guests, it is refreshing to hear a man’s point of view from time to time. This a whole new perspective to sex work, and I indeed enjoy talking to James about it. So much that I forgot to ask him some questions. Good thing he was nice enough to allow me to ask him a few more even after we "finished" the initial conversation.

I hope you enjoyed this episode. If you think other people – specifically other men – can benefit from this episode share it with them. If you know other individuals living an off the beaten path who can be a guest… email me at info [at] theintimatelifestyle.com with your suggestions!

The Intimate Lifestyle yearns to help everyone in finding their ideal relationships, fixing existing ones, and simply understanding one’s self better. We’ve provided in the past few episodes the best resources to aid with dating, matchmaking, and even breakups. This time, we have a key resource joining the show to dig a little deeper into our belief systems.

I’m honoured to have Julie Turner – life coach, matchmaker, and hypnotherapist – on this episode. We will talk about our motivations in life and the unseen things which causes the challenges we encounter. Somewhere along the mix we also professed our love for Ford and discussed our musical abilities (mostly her abilities and my lack thereof). Listen until the very end as I share a secret to getting girls (not my secret though, some other guy’s).

Topics that sprung up on this longer than usual conversation include:

  • How our ego is a protective mechanism that keeps us safe but could also result in our fears and anxieties (02:44).
  • Kids' process of understanding and its relationship to Neuro-Linguistic Programming for adults (08:06).
  • How Julie got interested in hypnotherapy and integrating with her existing coaching career (11:54).
  • What hypnosis really is and what it does to our consciousness (14:01).
  • Resisting hypnosis and the best candidates for hypnosis (19:58).
  • Why I prefer using the term unconscious when referring to the subconscious (21:22).
  • The beginnings of a belief system, how it can sabotage your relationships, and listening to your authentic self (25:16).
  • The process of developing your life's metanarrative and the fallacy of generalization (28:08).
  • Overcoming being victimized by our belief systems and how the universe conspires so we see things clearer (31:17).
  • A story that illustrates how the ego "protects" an individual based on one's learned behavior (34:21).
  • Distinguishing ego from intuition, and the perils of labeling everything (39:16).
  • Blurring relationship labels and how the concept of forever can be ruining human relationships (43:58).
  • Applying hypnotherapy to help people to get the relationships they truly want or fix current ones (49:56).
  • The importance of ruffling some feathers and challenging the status quo (59:14).
  • How unhappiness is brought about by assumptions and expectations (1:02:20).
  • What Julie sees as the general difference between men and women's approach to relationships (1:06:09).

I enjoyed talking to Julie so much! It is kind of uncanny how much of our thoughts and beliefs matched. I like her so much I unleashed my creepy virginal teenage boy persona on her… I might have a crush on her (or is she the female version of me?).

As an advocate of self-love and personal growth, I am fully endorsing Julie’s services. If you feel like you need her in your life, visit JulieTurnerMatchmaker.com. There you can find the full menu of the coaching, matchmaking and workshop services she is offering. If you want to keep updated on upcoming events where Julie is featured or she is hosting, follow her Facebook page.

I would appreciate it if you can share this episode with your network, if they need help sorting their inner stuff out – or if they just need a good laugh. For feedback, suggestions, and inquiries, give me a shout out at info [at] theintimatelifestyle.com – I’d love to hear from you.

Ever heard of sex magick? It doesn’t involve cutting up body parts and making it whole again, disappearing sex partners after being bondaged, or sex toys being pulled out of a hat. It’s a lot more meaningful than that.

I’ve invited someone who can educate us better about what sex magick is all about. I personally am very interested in sex magick for some time now and I’m stoked to have someone to geek out with.

Laurie Handlers is a sex and happiness coach, radio host, movie producer, actor, and the best-selling author of the book Sex and Happiness. She joins us to provide an introduction to sex magick - with more than 2 decades worth of experience in this field and I think she’s one of the best source out there.

Laurie and I talked about everything from her workshops, personal beliefs, a phenomenon called the little death, immortality, to George W. Bush. There’s a lot that we deep-dived into including:

  • The one thing that the Bush administration did right and how it impacted her life (03:43).
  • What sex magic is, and how it can help you manifest your intentions one orgasm at a time (06:52).
  • The reason why sexual energy is so powerful (10:19).
  • How Laurie fuses atheism, immortalism, sex magick, and science to create the life she wants (14:01; 19:23)
  • Our theory on the concept of deity as religions' attempt to control people and mankind's refusal to take responsibility for their lives (15:47)
  • Dissecting our personal beliefs and how a Simon and Garfunkel song describes the human journey (25:11).
  • What solo sex magick is and how to do it (31:17).
  • Insights on partner sex magick practice, energetic orgasms and ejaculating (36:16).
  • How to use bodily fluids as elixirs and objects of manifestation (40:41).
  • The types of success people were able to attract and manifest through her sex magick workshops (42:46)
  • Practicing sex magick and how it impacts our lives (46:02).

There’s so much more to uncover, and really, we were just edging on our conversation. Unfortunately, time is limited but we’ll try to connect again to get down and dirty on even more sex magick.

If you want more information about sex magick, reach out to Laurie via her website, Butterfly Workshops. You can also follow her on YouTube and Facebook for resources and updates.

Ben Goresky is an addiction counselor, helping other men through Evolving Man, where he provides resources on relationships, masculinity, and health.

What's interesting with Ben was he suffered from addiction and was sent to rehab when he was just 15 years old. It is this personal experience that allowed him to coach and provide counsel to other addicts effectively and with credibility.

And it’s with this experience as an addictions counsellor that he’s able to now coach men with compassion, and without judgement, through the many challenges they’ve been faced with that hold them back in love and life.

Traditional society created a concept of specific roles for what is deemed masculine and feminine. From actions, emotions, and even occupations. Fortunately, today’s world already moved up from such framework.

Somehow, the idea that an individual can have both masculine and feminine traits is getting some traction. Also known as the polarity principle, this episode delves into the feminine and masculine dynamics, and how this plays out in relationships.

Joining the show to discuss the polarity principle is Sister Moutique. Sister has spent the last twenty-ish years as a spirituality teacher through retreats, immersions, and coaching. She is also the author of the book The Gift of Expectation.

Sister delivers miracles by helping individuals and couples in their journey towards personal transformation. Part of the shape-shifting exercise she oversees for her clients includes a deeper understanding of the divine feminine and masculine and how it affects ourselves.

Some of the other points we discuss on this episode include:

  • Her background and experience as a spirituality teacher (03:44).
  • An introduction to the concept of the divine feminine and divine masculine (08:32).
  • How understanding masculinity and femininity as energetic presence can explain how some individuals do not resonate with the sex they’re assigned at birth (10:21).
  • How an awareness of the masculine and feminine energy manifests in decision-making, actions, and even posture (12:27).
  • The concept of vulnerable masculinity and the importance of trust in allowing one’s self to embrace vulnerability (18:22).
  • The consequence of two individuals with the same energy in a relationship (21:29).
  • The difference in experience between her two marriages based on the energy of her partners (23:57).
  • How the polarity principle works in same-sex relationships and identifying which energy is more predominant in an individual (32:54).
  • The qualities we should be looking for in partners and how it aligns with the quality of life we want (44:53).
  • How equality works by offering each of the energies’ expertise into the relationship (49:17).
  • Harnessing and balancing the divine energies towards limitless possibilities (56:07).
  • How the polarity principle is demonstrated in the bedroom (58:02).
  • The idea of the blissful state as both the natural human state and divine state. (1:09:40)
  • Sister’s advice on the importance of exploring who you truly are in a relationship (1:14:16)

Despite my prior knowledge of the divine feminine and divine masculine concepts, I was still able to learn new things from Sister’s point of view and experience.

To connect with Sister Moutique, check out her website and her book, The Gift of Expectation.

Understanding the polarity principle is one of those things that could enlighten those who are experiencing confusion with their sexual preferences, and even their emotions and behavior.

This week’s episode is a continuation of the previous one. But this time around, his partner – Ally, is joining the two of us.

If you weren’t able to catch the previous episode yet, I suggest you give it a listen. This way, you get some context on their relationship, and what we’re gonna be talking about. You can listen to it here.

Now, we skipped the formalities of introduction as I typically do on the show as we just continued where we left off from our conversation last week. Our conversation revolved around their relationship, it's progression and dynamics. We also touched on society's perception of relationships.

Subjects that the three of us discussed include:

  • How polyamory can aid the common monogamy-infidelity issue (02:59).
  • The concept of monogamy and Ally's past relationships as a serial monogamist (04:24).
  • The general misconception that polyamory is avoidance of commitment (07:30).
  • Handling arguments in a polyamorous relationship vis-à-vis a traditional one (09:27).
  • Weddings, marriages, and the commitment that they share in their relationship (11:54).
  • The concept of tribal intimacy, and the dynamics and perks of their relationship compared to traditional ones (15:25).
  • Processing jealousy and how sexual encounters with other lovers make them feel (22:02).
  • How their other lovers respond to their relationship set-up (32:44).
  • ‘Working a schedule’ with their multiple lovers (33:47; 37:55).
  • The reluctant yet organic development of their relationship, and how they see it evolving further in the future (36:07; 41:48).
  • Meeting and inviting new people into their ‘tribe’, and the foundation and depth of their relationships (38:11; 47:50).
  • The importance of transparency to manage people’s expectations about their lifestyle (44:49).
  • How polyamory lets individuals have a better awareness of the possibility of an end to a relationship (51:46).
  • The pressure that monogamy places on individuals (56:20).
  • How society views the traditional concept of marriage (1:01:40).
  • The importance of establishing a relationship with yourself (1:04:50).

That was a really fun chat! Did you enjoy as much as I did? Hearing Ally’s take on their relationship only strengthened the position established in the previous episode. The insights the two of them shared can really get one to reflect and challenge what we know about commitment, relationships, and even marriage.

If you think someone will benefit from listening from this episode, I urge you to share this with them. This allows the show to reach more people, create awareness, and educate them too.

For some, the idea of being in a relationship with just one person can downright drive them crazy. But imagine being in a relationship with FOUR. That is bound to get crazy, right?

Wrong.

My friend, who will remain unnamed, lets us take a peek into his world. One where polyamory and group sex is preferred, if not the norm. Join us as we try to understand him and his lifestyle, and unpack the intricacies and dynamics of a polyamorous relationship.

Below are some of the things we’ve touched on our conversation:

  • His interests and the role sexuality plays in his life (02:41).
  • How I recall meeting him at a sex party and how our interesting our introduction was(04:50).
  • His explanation on the way he approaches people, and what he perceives as the reason why other people do not do this (08:07).
  • His approach to relationships that provides self-reliance and freedom from concepts of possession and jealousy (10:04).
  • How many partners he has and his primary partner's lovers (13:03).
  • The process of getting educated about polyamory, jealousy, and compersion (15:36).
  • The type of relationships he had prior his awakening to the life and relationships that he authentically wants (18:41).
  • The dynamics of the lifestyle, relationship, and sexual encounters he and his partners are in (23:21).
  • Navigating his partners’ feelings before, during and after a relationship with him (31:28).
  • Cultivating deep connections and intimacy with all the individuals involved in the relationship (36:01).
  • Dealing with feelings of insecurity and being left out in a group sex scenario (38:22).
  • Why he chose not to compartmentalize his sexuality from his life (40:14).
  • What he sees as foremost before getting into a relationship (43:14).
  • How he opens up the subject of polyamory and introducing group sex to a new lover (45:00).

We also throw in some pop culture references and anecdotes about sexual repression, past relationships, and group sex. This episode made me understand what goes on a polyamorous person's mind, or at least, His version of it. As he has stressed, there really is no one template or formula to navigate this type of relationship. Or any relationship, really. If there’s a key takeaway, it is to live as authentically as possible.

STAY TUNED FOR PART 2 NEXT WEEK!

I hope you enjoyed this episode. If you know other individuals living an authentic lifestyle – someone in an off the beaten path who can be an informative resource and guest… email me at info [at] theintimatelifestyle.com with your suggestions!

Alternative sexuality, kink, and BDSM are some things that people often keep in the dark. But in this episode, we'll be shedding some light on them

This week’s guest is Robin Beatch, aka Red Robin, and she identifies as a genderfluid, polyamorous switch. She was previously a stripper, professional dominatrix, and a nurse. All these past experiences integrated into her present profession. She currently teaches alternative sexuality. She supports and educates different communities through body acceptance, experimenting with sexuality, among others.

If the length of our conversation is any indication, there’s so much that we discussed and learned from each other. More often me learning from her, really. We’ve tackled everything from what got her into it, what professional dominatrixes do and different types of kinks.

Some of the specific subjects we've touched on are:

  • Her background raised in a Mennonite household where sex education was fear-based and how she ended up working in the sex industry (01:42; 06:58).
  • What she does as an alternative sex educator (04:03).
  • How stripping empowered her and being a dominatrix gave her more control over her life (07:51).
  • The distinction between hurting versus harming, and how pleasure can be derived from pain (15:31).
  • What is a scene and how does BDSM provides a greater level of care than traditional relationships or sex (20:50).
  • The significance of intuition, discernment, and calibration in BDSM, and why she does not rely on safewords (23:54; 34: 25; 1:18:45).
  • A crash course on terminologies, scenarios and roles in BDSM (26;13; 35:41; 46:54; 1:05:22).
  • The different reasons people go for pain, and the importance of understanding the intent of each participant (31:46).
  • Ways to check the other party's limits and pain threshold (36:20).
  • What are muggles, how to introduce kink, and to build-up scenes based on the person’s experience (38:43; 55:41).
  • How psychological pain and humiliation play out into the scenes (51:44).
  • Where she draws inspiration to stay creative with domination (1:02:46).
  • The importance of learning and understanding the BDSM power play (1:10:55).
  • How things that went wrong and lessons learned emphasized the need to do understand BDSM power dynamics. (1:21:25).
  • Issues on consent, miscommunication, rape, and the important concept of vetting (1:24:15).
  • A story about a client with whom she had 4-hour long needle play with (1:34:45).
  • Her advice for someone looking for a pro-dom session, and which channels to use to best find one (1:37:00).

It was really entertaining and enlightening talking with Robin. She’s got so much to share that more than an hour and a half seemed to still be insufficient to cover everything. Good thing she does these talks for a living, so check out her upcoming talks and conferences if you want more.

If you want to connect with Robin, you can get in touch with her at Alternative Sexuality, or through her Fetlife account.

There are many other social contract theories out there that claim otherwise. John Izzo, the author of the book The Five Thieves of Happiness, debunks this claim saying that happiness is actually human’s natural state.

Dr. John Izzo has over two decades worth of credentials in the field of business, leadership, success, social responsibility and happiness where he’s written books, and spoken numerous conferences and summits.

People often see conflicts in a bad light and try to avoid it at all costs – be it with your family, friends, colleagues… and especially with your partner. But what would you think if I tell you that conflict can actually be a positive thing?

Our guest for this episode is Vienna Pharaon, and conflict is one of her specialties. Vienna is a licensed marriage and family therapist and is behind New York Couples Counseling where she helps individuals, couples and families traverse different issues. She offers services based on the issues experienced by her clients where she uses compassion, intuition, and collaboration to encourage transformation.

People are afraid to face conflict and avoid it as much as possible, yet it is inevitable. Vienna, however, welcomes conflict and sees it as a gateway to deeper connections and better relationships. This is what we deep-dived into in our conversation.

Some of the topics we discussed are:

  • Her work as a marriage and family therapist (05:26), and the systemic nature of the job looking at how different systems shape our lives and belief systems (11:50).
  • The dating culture in New York and the horror stories brought about by a career-centric city culture causing misalignment in priorities (07:56).
  • My sunglasses analogy relating to awareness and subconscious (14:57), and the importance of working on both ourselves and our relationships towards happiness (16:07).
  • The role that our past plays on how we perceive conflicts, and how conflicts give us the opportunity to learn and understand our partners more (20:55).
  • Transforming unhealthy to healthy conflict through our behavior and reaction (27:58).
  • How to shift our perspective when you're in the moment by claiming your ‘adult time out’ to bring gentleness into the space (30:20; 42:41).
  • Seeing anger as an informative emotion that is often the result of another emotion (35:20).
  • Distinguishing unhealthy and healthy conflict based on how the parties accept their responsibility and contribution to the interaction and conflict (38:15).
  • Striking a balance of accepting responsibility for your behavior and getting the other person to acknowledge and do the same on their end (44:43).
  • Gottman’s insights on couples’ issues, the statistic of which is unsolvable, and the concept of positive to negative ratio of healthy relationships (53:32).
  • The concept of negativity threshold and how this impacts conflict management (57:36).
  • Why I see the idea of giving parts of ourselves into a relationship is comparable to the science of sword-making (1:00:07).
  • How to deal with conflicts in a healthy manner that it becomes transformative and a source of deeper intimacy (1:03:31).

Strippers are often perceived in society as promiscuous and sex thirsty women willing to get paid to show off their bodies, or even more…

Maria – not her real name, is a friend and is/was a stripper for 6 years. She joins me as today’s guest as she shares her insights about stripping as a career, and to prove that some (if not most) strippers are actually happy individuals who are not broken and lonely.

Sex work is an industry often seen in the fringes of society, never totally accepted but operates implicitly anyway. People who delve into sex work often get judged and receive flack for their choice of livelihood. While society paints a distorted and dark imagery to the industry, if you take away its sexual nature, sex work at its core is really just sales and hospitality work.

This episode hopes to shed light on an industry that thrives after dark, in hopes of debunking stereotypes and social stigma. We try to draw a clearer picture of the inner workings of a stripper through Maria's experiences, and maybe learn what the ‘perv row' is. Some of the topics we've discussed in this fun and light conversation are:

  • What led her to decide to work as a stripper when she was just 18 (2:30).
  • Why she felt fortunate and lucky to work in a gentleman’s club (7:43), and how another stripper took Maria under her wing to learn the ropes, rules, and other tricks of the trade (23:20).
  • Her personal choice to stick with stripping and not going past that (9:30), how the workplace made her empowered and confident to define her boundaries (12:45) and how she keeps away from the ongoing temptation of crossing these limits (27:52).
  • How the night club environment impacts the lifestyle and health of its employees (8:39; 15:00), and her experience with alcohol and drugs (19:15)
  • An aspect she appreciated with stripping as a career offered (21:11).
  • The stigma that came with the job, and how her family reacted upon knowing that she was stripping (26:13)
  • What convinced her to think that every woman should experience stripping at some point in their lives (30:51).
  • The danger involved with being a stripper, trusting the strip club's tight security to safeguard her, the importance of keeping vigilant, and the reason why strippers adopt a stage name (38:07).
  • The stereotypes, assumptions, and expectations that society have about strippers (46:02).
  • Attributing her ‘success’ as a stripper not to flaunting her sexuality or doing hard-sell but by connecting with people and letting her personality speak (49:56).
  • Building confidence in a setting where rejection is high and earning through experience a toolkit for stripper success (55:35).
  • Misconceptions about strippers as promiscuous, and the fact that they cannot be generalized, with each having different stories behind deciding to take that track (1:06:50).

It was a very candid yet powerful look into a stripper’s life, and I hope you loved it as much I did talking to Maria. If you know anyone who might be interested or would benefit from hearing Maria’s perspective, share this with them.

When we say addiction, we automatically think drugs. But addiction can be about almost anything – sex addiction, porn, food, literally anything.

Whatever form of addiction one may have, there is one common thing that gets messed up, and that is our relationships. This is what Ben and I wanted to unpack in our conversation.

In this episode, we discussed:

  • A brief background of his life, relationship, and his current projects, initiatives, and involvements (2:17).
  • His addiction to escape, the substances he's used and getting acquainted with other addicts in rehab (6:20).
  • What he experienced and saw inside rehab, and the mentality that made him think that he should be deeper into drugs (7:53).
  • How an addict's mind works, and what he sees as the foundation of addiction in one's consciousness (11:04; 18:40).
  • The addict’s grand narrative before discovering drugs, while doing drugs, and the vicious cycle involved in it (12:45).
  • Personal experiences, feelings, and actions under the influence of drugs as a teenager (16:50).
  • The uniqueness of each addiction and the intensity of the experiences people get out of it (20:40).
  • How Ben got clean through his father’s persistence, rehabilitation, counseling, by ‘hitting bottom', and a realization of what’s actually happening (25:55).
  • The importance of fostering relationships and building credibility as a coach when helping others overcome addiction (36:50).
  • The first phase of the 12 steps to recovery and how it gets the addict to face the pain (39:55).
  • How addiction would’ve changed the trajectory of his life and relationships, and the personal growth and self-help activities he continuously took to improve his current life and relationships (44:24).
  • What shadow work is, how it affects people’s behaviors and relationships, and how it manifests in different people (47:13).
  • How the changes he’s gone through and lessons learned allowed him to be grateful for the life and relationships he has right now (51:03).

This was a thoughtful conversation that laid out the origins of addiction and understanding early recovery. If you or someone you know would benefit from having a coaching session with Ben, you can reach him through his website Evolving Man, his Facebook page Evolving Man Coaching, or email him at ben@evolvingman.ca.

Ever wondered how you can pick up and seduce women effectively? Ross Jeffries just might help you in this area… and more.

Ross is a master hypnotist and NLP practitioner – so I might have been under the power of his hypnosis on this episode.

Ross Jeffries applies and teaches conversational hypnosis to seduce women and this is what we will deep-dive on today. If you perceive that the practice of hypnosis overrides human autonomy and volition, let our conversation guide you on how this seemingly sketchy practice can help people traverse relationships.

There are few things that are certain in life – and death is one of those.

Death has always been seen as the conclusion of life. But for Stephen Garrett, he sees new beginnings and opportunities in death to cultivate positivity and powerful change. Stephen is a death coach, but it hasn’t always been the case.

For some time, he served people as a life coach but noticed that while this enabled people to change their lives, it is often short-lived. He observed, however, that death is a more potent tool to create profound and long-lasting changes.

He believes that we must face and embrace death instead of avoiding it. In this episode, we discussed the emotions that accompany death and share our own experiences dealing with the death of loved ones, and people close to us who have also struggled with grief and loss.

Just some of the things we covered today are:

  • The deeper purpose of being a death educator and coach, and the process of getting rid of grief which is not done alone, and must be received by another individual without judgment (1:40).
  • The Dying to Live experience/program he does with his clients and my emotional experience of writing my own eulogy (6:20).
  • Seeing death as a teacher, friend, and ally, instead of an enemy, and allowing it to inspire life instead of discouraging it (11:17; 1:01:12).
  • Present day fear of death caused by lack of practice and exposure, unlike 150 years ago when the natural cycle of life is more apparent through nature, home and family (12:23).
  • How our demeanor towards elders reflect our fear of death (14:03).
  • The markers/signposts of grief, and why Stephen does not want to necessarily use the term ‘stages',
  • and his take on how Shakespeare described parting as a sweet sorrow (22:41).
  • Stephen’s insights on the grief associated with infertility, stillbirth, babies, and children dying (27:28).
  • How love/joy and grief/sorrow are correlated, and the difficulty getting over these feelings (32:39).
  • The point when grief and sorrow become unhealthy, the potential effects of suppressing or dwelling too much on sorrow, and how to balance the darkness with the lightness (40:20).
  • The significance of practicing gratitude amidst challenges, and how it allows us to manage our priorities and see what’s important in our life (45:04).
  • Grieving relationships to get emotional and mental baggage out, and what you can do for someone who is grieving (52:33).
  • The two components of the grieving process, the role of rituals and exercises in the appreciation of the life or relationship that was lived and experienced (58:26).
  • Experiencing loneliness in the spiritual and physical plane, and the inevitable attachment after a loss (1:03:35).
  • Loving someone who has experienced grief and loss (1:09:22).

A self-professed recovering nice guy himself, he took the time to chat with me about bad boys and nice guys, and how being nice can cause resentment, anxiety and repressed anger in relation to getting the sex life, relationship, success, among other things that they think they deserve.

Do you know the most natural-feeling condom brand and type there is out there? Or do you know how a tissue roll can gauge you or your partner’s penis size compared to the rest of the world?

Those are just some of the things you’ll learn on this week’s very informative episode, as Matt Mandell, CEO of Condomania joins me on the show. Condomania is a company that was established in 1991 during the peak of the AIDS crisis and has been America's, if not the world's first condom source. With the dawn of the internet, Condomania created their website as early as 1995 that allows people to shop for their condom needs and more, one of the pioneers of e-commerce.

Matt and I talked about condoms, lubricants, issues, my unusual sexual fear, and other topics not as widely talked about as they are experienced in the real world on this episode with a healthy dose of humor.

Topics we’ve covered are:

  • Condomania’s product mix and loyal customer base (1:46).
  • The emotional and/or mental issues involved with being on the opposite poles of the scale based on the FDA’s standards on condom size (6:40).
  • The extent of the service they provide from a wide range of condom options, supplementary tools like sex toys, and even supporting their clients on a personal level and educating them about sex that is not penis-centric or size-dependent (9:08).
  • Condom size categories and a basic measurement hack how to gauge one’s standing in the small-average-large condom size spectrum (12:57).
  • Natural lambskin condoms, what it’s made of, and its pros and cons, and the difference in terms of shape and feel between different types of condoms. (15:44)
  • A personal narrative of condoms slipping, common causes to condom slipping off apart from size, and how to resolve this issue (24:43).
  • Reasons why condoms break and the significance of lube in the problem (30:38).
  • The limitations that hinder Condomania from legally catering to people in the extreme zones with regards to penis size (32:16).
  • The range of the sizes of the condom they produce from the smallest to largest, the brands that produce the smaller sizes, and measuring for custom orders (35:15).
  • Where condoms are manufactured, the different materials used, and the differences in manufacturing between the different types of condoms (40:05).
  • Lubricants and special lube products that affect sexual contact stimuli (47:30).
  • Commonly reported issues or problems that guys encounter using condoms (50:58).
  • Different type of lubes, how they work, how and where to use them, their benefits, and things to watch out for (2:33).
  • Condomania’s user-driven approach to merchandising, and integrity in ensuring the safety of their clients through their product lineup and by even providing Condom Liability Insurance (1:01:05).
  • His personal insights on the effectiveness of sexual performance boosting and penis size enhancement products and procedures (1:05:40).

This conversation has been very informative, even for me who’s relatively learned on the subject of sex. If you think it was quite enlightening too, highly recommend that you share this so more people will be better educated about the tools used for intimacy like condoms and lubricants.

Is being a Yes Man (or Woman) getting you in trouble more than good? Then maybe you should learn the art of properly saying “No”.

Little Woo is the founder of the School of Enchantment, where she serves as a mentor and coach, guiding people in their relationships and lives. She teaches a program for those who are going through big changes and wants to transition towards a more magical life through creativity and freedom, so they can walk the enchanted path of compassion, creation, and celebration.

On this episode, we focused on the often seen as difficult practice of saying “No”, dealing with conflicts and the other consequences attributed from saying “No”, as well as our personal experiences in conflicts and rejection.

Some of the points we’ve touched on today are:

  • How cynical she was in the past, and the 7-year journey that prompted her to look inside, learn how to swim instead of drowning, let go of feeling powerless, and eventually helping other people with similar journeys (5:00).
  • How mixed signals and incongruence of how we view the world and how we respond to people and situations reflects in our energy and relationships (9:00).
  • The negative perception of the word ‘No’, how it conveys boundaries and confrontation, and how she sees the word ‘No’ not as the problem (12:02).
  • How learning to effectively say ‘No’ made certain things easier for her (14:25).
  • The difficulties in saying ‘No' and how guilt plays a big role in this, rooted in certain false beliefs (16:20).
  • Responding to guilt and getting caught up with other people’s trauma and victim mentality by shifting energies instead of just merely choosing between fight or flee (22:02).
  • How getting ‘No’ for an answer benefits both parties, allowing growth, healing, empowerment and removing blame from the participants (24:10).
  • Handling conflict and displeasure so we can be bigger than the momentary discomfort that comes from a ‘No’ and developing trust, stronger bonds and authenticity through the experience (34:04).
  • How the concepts of FOMO, shortage of resource and shortage of love makes people say ‘Yes' in fear of missing opportunities and overcoming the scarcity mindset by acknowledging choices and abundance (40:56).
  • Developing muscles to handle people’s discomfort, how to respond as a mentor to not take people’s reactions personally, and to give and receive truth graciously (53:31)

A great insight in conflict resolution, as well as managing our relationships, careers or businesses, and other opportunities we face in life. It had been a pleasure talking with Little Woo, if you would like to know more about her programs and join the walk to the enchanted path of magical humans, you can head to LittleWoo.Org or shoot her an email at treasures [at] littlewoo.org

Sexual shame and performance mindset are just some of issues that have plagued human sexuality. An episode 2 years in the making, today’s guest, Jordan Gray, is someone I’ve known for years – I’ve seen him grow his business revolving around sex and relationship from the ground up.

A sex and relationship coach for 7 and a half years, he started it through offline coaching and expanded online 5 years ago. His business had been growing steadily since, allowing him to reach and help people around the world with their relationships and sexuality.

Today, Jordan Gray joins me on the show to talk about shame, performance mindset, (which he personally experienced), his recommendations to overcome these, and a few social justice rants sprinkled with some movie references.

Listen as we discuss:

  • How he ended up in the field of sex and relationship coaching which may be traced as early as when he was 15 years old, and a major break-up that drove him to figure out social skills and dating (3:34).
  • The concept of sex positivity and how a majority of humanity lives with sexual shame in default which he's compared to being raised into a Western diet (6:10).
  • Netherland’s sex-positive culture where sex education starts as early as kindergarten, impacting teen pregnancy rates, STD/STI cases and sexual experience (10:13).
  • Our experience and journey with sexual shame and how Jordan views sexual shame, addiction and performance mindset (13:27).
  • His clients’ recurring issues involving shame, addiction, anxiety, approval-seeking, and conditional love that is reflected years in the future in different areas of their lives like their careers, businesses, relationships, and sex (17:25).
  • The ways sexual performance mindset manifests as key performance indicators (22:25), and dealing with performance mindset, rejection and people in our relationships (23:08).
  • How his relativistic worldview affects how he deals with people with different value systems and life choices (25:30).
  • What he poses as the antidote to move through sexual shame by acknowledging that sex is about feelings instead of performance (27:48), espousing love in our relationships, and practicing self-compassion (42:27).
  • The role that self-reflection and self-awareness of our inner narrative plays in attracting people, into our lives, who reinforce these stories about ourselves (29:20).
  • How women experience sexual shame and performance mindset through body image issues, submission, servitude and orgasm-centeredness (36:31).
  • The idea of sacrificing some relationships to make room for self-honor (45:00).
  • How I dealt with a client who has these issues by changing their mindset so they view sex as an experience instead of just about orgasm, and Jordan’s insights on how to resolve it (47:26).
  • Overcoming performance mindset, how the process of healing happens by taking pressure off one’s self, and a behavioral therapy type approach where you do what it is that you’re scared of (52:21).

I hope you enjoyed our conversation and was able to understand the issues and the resolutions Jordan recommends to overcome these, have better relationships and enjoy sex better. If you want to reach Jordan Gray, check out JordanGrayConsulting.

One of the social contract theories is that of Thomas Hobbes’ expounded on the book Leviathan where he stated that the nature of man and life is poor, nasty, and brutish – and with how the world is currently, it is easy to think so too.

Plenty to learn and realize on this episode where we discussed leadership, happiness and what is it that prevents us from sustaining happiness and success. Specific topics we’ve covered in our conversation includes:

  • Questions that boggled his mind ever since he was a young boy which served as the precursor to his book The Five Thieves of Happiness (1:23).
  • The concept of leadership, not just in the corporate setting, but every facet of our lives where we can influence others in a positive way (2:31), and how his insights on leadership tie up with his perspective of happiness (4:12).
  • A 10-month Sabbatical that led him to his realizations on happiness which he hasn’t quite unlocked after years of study (6:03).
  • The practice of stillness, mindfulness and disconnecting which allows for a deeper understanding of things and life (8:50).
  • Happiness defined through etymology, activity, as a virtue and an inner state (12:12).
  • The thief which makes us believe that life is a contest of constant comparison, and how to counter it through gratitude (16:42).
  • The things that Dr. John Izzo compared the state of happiness to (20:30; 38:30).
  • Happiness as human’s natural state as seen in children, and the idea that humans survived and thrived because of our inherent goodness and compassion (23:34).
  • The biggest thief that people struggle with, and how surrendering with curiosity instead of resisting can bring happiness (26:48).
  • How another thief leads us to believe that happiness is dependent on what happens around us, when in reality, happiness and contentment is a choice, even in the face of adversity (33:16).
  • How the obsession with our own story prevents us from experiencing happiness, the story of Narcissus and a game he plays with himself when this thief takes over him (40:00).
  • Ways to get out of depression through kindness instead of self-serving initiatives towards happiness (44:45)
  • Why human’s dependence to routine and patterns, is a thief to happiness, and examples on how this manifest (47:55).
  • Dealing with the thieves by unmasking and stopping them, and replacing it with a new mindset and a personal experience when doing so helped him a lot (57:15).

This episode shifted gears a little bit and focused on personal happiness as a way to improve our relationships. Dr. John Izzo dropped so many truth bombs and statements that you’d probably need quite some time to digest and take it all in. To learn more about the five thieves of happiness, purchase his book on Amazon.

These are the three things central to this episode and I have Lianna Walden back on the show to talk about these concepts and how they play out in real-life relationships.

Lianna is a sex and relationship coach and sexual energy healer who works on non-traditional relationships including bisexuality and non-monogamy. She connects with people, finds out about what’s happening to them sexually and uses this knowledge to help them get through their relationships and lives.

Some of the areas we’ve discussed today are:

  • What her partner revealed that led into opening up their relationship and exploring non-monogamy (8:37).
  • The phases of jealousy and types of fears that Lianna and her partner went through during this experimentation phase, the relationships they had, and how they worked their way through that experience (11:31).
  • Tackling non-monogamy and the inevitable jealousy in the setup, and how it affects the parties involved in her workshops (19:40).
  • The role threat, insecurity, and low self-esteem plays in the experience of jealousy and decoding the difference between jealousy and envy (21:11; 39:10).
  • How awareness/mindfulness can make one distinguish if jealousy or whatever emotion they’re feeling is healthy or unhealthy (26:25).
  • Practicing consensual decisions and communication, which leads to the gradual process towards compersion and freedom, as the healthiest path to get over the darker emotions related with jealousy (30:20; 42:25).
  • The idea that you are not being loving when you are in a jealous state (39:20).
  • How to slowly transition into or experience a non-traditional or non-monogamous relationship by laying out boundaries, seeing how the emotions play out, and gradually figuring out if those boundaries can be expanded through constant communication (52:20).
  • Jealousy to be seen as an opportunity to explore and communicate our needs, boundaries, insecurities, understand self-love and relationships – a means to an end – instead of just seeing it as a sole negative feeling, and why I likened jealousy to brussel sprouts (53:15).
  • Why jealousy can be the catalyst to create a spark and reignite passion in a relationship (1:00:23).

If you’re interested in the art of seduction and even sex work, it is known that the allure of the Japanese Geisha is unrivaled in the erotic world. It’s an art and finesse that is not observed in most cultures – especially the Western ones – and this episode will let you have a peek at it.

Raven is a retired sex worker, who went to Japan at a young age to escape a humdrum routine she calls life. There she learned the art and trade of being a modern geisha and a high-end-escort-slash-sex-worker, under the care of a mama-san who ensures the clients treat the women in her club like princesses.

Today, Raven and I talked about the nitty gritty of the adult entertainment, escort service, and sex work. She then provides insights from both provider and client point of view of the industry.

Our conversation took us on her 15-year journey in the sex industry where we discussed:

  • How she decided to leave school, her job and then partner for a Japan trip and how this supposed 3-month itinerary extended to 3 years which became her start in the adult entertainment industry (2:18).
  • The transition from working at a hostess club to her introduction to escort service and sex work as a geisha (3:33; 11:51).
  • The fancy setting, the princess treatment, the training on how to interact and be affectionate with clients, how to anticipate a man’s needs, and the emotional connection geishas provide their clients (; 12:39).
  • The courtship and intricacies involved for a client to bring a hostess out of the club which is based on the principle of mutual respect where the mama-san and the women communicate and negotiate with the clients (16:01).
  • How people's point of views and judgment is shaped by the society they grew up in, the level of acceptance of the practice of having escorts in Japan, and an instance when she was introduced to the client's wife (18:10).
  • Coming back to the US, treading the escort service and sex industry, and its difference to the etiquette and safety standards upheld in Japan (5:20; 20:25).
  • Getting to know the US sex industry which is mostly run by men based on a pimp-hoe dynamics, wanting to fix this setting, starting her own agency with an objective to make booking ladies as easy and comfortable as booking a haircut, and finally a virtual assistance service for high-end escorts (6:03; 21:15).
  • What she regards as a notable achievement with her business operations shifting how law enforcement sees the escort service industry, making it much safer, and the protocol where her workers go through one-on-one legal talk to empower them (8:01).
  • Dealing with clients you're not attracted to – which entails emotional work, pulling from compassion and genuine love, a principle rooted from her geisha background where sex workers are not only being paid for the performance but the connection too (24:19).
  • Safety and security issues she experienced including dealing with the legalities, screening clients, and safeguarding worker's health, on a physical level like STDs, and on an emotional/psychological aspect by setting boundaries and dealing with violence (29:49).
  • The screening process which involves getting identification, references, work verification and how it significantly improved with the help of technology (34:05).
  • Red flags for sex workers to turn away clients with shady characters, and on the other end how can clients verify the provider and service they are availing (39:15).
  • Her insights and options on how sex workers should work in the industry, providing each option’s benefits and drawbacks (44:05).
  • How her company does marketing and leads generation for their providers (50:20).
  • Her stance on the idea that sex workers are not supposed to enjoy their work (54:40).

Now, this is just the first part of Raven's interview, and to be honest, the wealth of information she's provided me on this first part alone about the industry, as well as the client-provider relationship, is very insightful - and I can't wait to talk to her again and learn even more.

A controversial subject, I suggest you hold your judgments and listen as we delve into it. If you're really interested in his character and intentions, fast forward to 53:58 to understand his relationship to women and his mother.

Today, we discussed:

  • His background, Tom Cruise’s role in the movie Magnolia as inspired by his practice, and creating a deviant sex subculture (3:22).
  • How copywriting and social engineering led to his business that provoked the power structure, and how women reacted to this (5:39).
  • What he sees as the difference between influencing, manipulating, and lying (10:20).
  • Using the power of influence and language to get men what they need (or want), and how this can shape consciousness, decisions, and behavior (13:48).
  • A sample of how he uses language and rapport to spark interest and even sexualize conversations (14:46).
  • His work using NLP, conditioning, associating, and meditation to help men get over anxiety and failure, and be happier (18:20; 22:46).
  • How Buddhist principles of pleasure and craving factor in the area of seduction and sex (26:47).
  • The controversy surrounding his branding and marketing persona (31:10).
  • Unlocking someone’s desire through the power of suggestion and encouraging imagination (34:54).
  • How people mistake these skills and the power it holds as a form of manipulation (37:20).
  • The much bigger picture of NLP improving relationships through communication skills that enable people to be more deliberate in their conversations and relationships, and eliciting responses (46:10)
  • How his teaching is set apart from common pick-up artists and the rest of the seduction community, with background sweeping cognitive psychology, anthropology, semantics, and even business (51:22).
  • His relationship with his mother as the precursor for his curiosity and interest in learning (53:58).
  • How the developments in his life shaped the track of his career, and how practicing meditation shifted the trajectory of his teachings from ‘provocateur’ to ‘elder of the tribe’ (55:17).

I think the perfect word to describe this episode, the concepts and the stories we’ve talked about is enthralling. We chatted about his personal experience and the process of beating addiction which involved acknowledging it, and facing the addiction head on instead of avoiding it.

Amy Gahran aka Aggie Sex, is the author of the book Stepping Off the Relationship Escalator which delves into customizing your relationships to fit your needs.

Still don't quite understand the relationship escalator from that short description? Amy, who's appeared on CNN.com and Entrepreneur.com, goes deep into this topic and how it relates to how people behave in their relationships.

This conversation will make some people rethink their relationships and how society shaped the norms revolving around it. Some of the topics we touched on are:

  • Amy’s background and how this factored into doing a research that delves into the different forms of relationships that became the basis of the book (3:37).
  • The concept of relationship anarchy and how it is juxtaposed to the relationship escalator (7:25).
  • How relationship anarchy is a philosophy that promotes not taking anything for granted, and everything is negotiated and consent-based (7:25), and the different forms of relationship anarchy (12:42).
  • How social norms are helpful in terms of social contract, but can likewise be limiting (9:53).
  • How seeing people in pain and fear out of societal expectations in their relationships became her motivation for the book (13:22).
  • Relationship Escalator defined based on societal expectations when it comes to relationships, and why it is an escalator and not a staircase (17:00).
  • The stigma involved with stepping off with the relationship escalator (19:35), and crazy things that people have done because of the relationship escalator (21:10).
  • How people misconstrue that if what you want in a relationship conforms to social norms, it is assumed that it does not need to be negotiated anymore (23:35).
  • How exclusivity in a relationship will not always equate to love, and commitment, how monogamy does not always provide a guarantee, and how the concept of soulmates romanticizes dependence (27:25).
  • Finding relationships based on the concept of proxy criteria (37:00).
  • The concept of jealousy triggered by other complex emotions, societal expectations, and conditioning, which can be resolved by setting boundaries, negotiating, and managing expectations in a relationship (40:30).
  • The concept of exploring and trying out new things, expanding comfort zones, and boundaries through communication and negotiation (50:54).

Amy makes it clear that you can negotiate what kind of relationship you’ll have with the people you’re already involved with or new ones you’ll encounter. Sometimes our lovely lady partners can act a little "crazy." How you handle that says a lot about you. It also tells her how much she can trust you.  The truth is, she's not actually being "crazy" (unless she's hitting you, or throwing knives, or deliberately doing things to hurt you). Her "craziness" is actually just emotional repression finding it's way out. Here's how you can handle it like a champ.

Today’s guest is Dr. Robert Glover – an internationally recognized authority on the Nice Guy Syndrome. He wrote No More Mr. Nice Guy – a book I have read twice and found to be really insightful in understanding the male psyche. As a result of his work, Dr. Glover has helped thousands of nice guys transform from being passive, resentful victims to empowered, integrated males.

A self-professed recovering nice guy himself, he took the time to chat with me about bad boys and nice guys, and how being nice can cause resentment, anxiety and repressed anger in relation to getting the sex life, relationship, success, among other things that they think they deserve.

Specific areas we discussed are:

  • His background as a psychotherapist on marriage and family therapy, and even earlier as a minister for a fundamentalist church (1:40).
  • His current life living in a place where the sun always shines, with his amazing wife, and the ‘complications’ of having grandkids and kids of
  • e’ (0).
  • The events precedent to writing No More Mr. Nice Guy: marriages, affairs, sex-life issues, therapies, and why he wished his book had been available during all those experiences (9:28).
  • How working as a relationship and marriage therapist led him to found the No More Mr. Nice Guy men’s group, and eventually writing an autobiographical chronicle of his failures (16:14).
  • Why he sees authenticity as the reason for his success, how it played a big part in naming a book he is currently working on, and how it still challenges him in certain parts of his life (20:40).
  • What is the nice guy mantra, how the nice guy is created, the psychological principles behind it, and how it gives birth to shame (27:45).
  • The concept of the three covert contracts that nice guys live by to get their needs met, and manage the underlying shame (34:22).
  • Why there are more similarities than differences between the nice guys and the bad boys (39:35).
  • The common themes and complementary principles that run across self-help towards success books despite coming from different sources (42:15).
  • His perspective on feminism and society’s tendency to express things as a dichotomy (46:07).
  • ing boundaries by inviting people to higher consciousness and be more introspective (52:22).
  • The key takeaways of the idea of a reciprocal cooperative relationship and turning covert contracts into overt contracts (1:01:03).
  • His recommendations to consciously practice honesty, integrity, and authenticity, and keeping connection with other men (1:02:30)

This episode provided an introspective look into the male mind and I truly hope that you enjoyed and learned as much I did.

Do you really want to get your ex back? Why? What is it that they gave you that you need so much that you can't give yourself?

Those questions are kind of bullshit. Getting broken up with sucks, and when you become single, you miss that companionship, touch, sex, and all those other things that you can't "give yourself" while you're single.

So I get why you'd want your partner back. But there's a healthy way to get them back, and an unhealthy way. One involves changing who you are, and the other one involves changing who you are. (yes you read that correctly)

In this episode I explain myself better. (or so I like to think)

Following up on last week's guest Dana Pharant who is a dominatrix – we dive a little deeper this time with my guest on today’s show – Master Severyn Kain.

Master Severyn is a BDSM Master, alternative lifestyle presenter, and kink event organizer who has been active in the realm of BDSM, kink, and fetishism for the last 10 years (if to include the years he's been lurking and playing spectator on the events – it will total 15 years).

Today we discuss the development of his interest in BDSM and kink, events and activities in the community, defining terms used in the lifestyle, the relationship dynamics in BDSM, and integrating healthy power dynamics rooted from BDSM to traditional relationships.

Another one of those eye-opening episodes for me, one will certainly learn a lot in this episode and explore a lifestyle often talked about behind closed doors. Some of the specific subjects we’ve discussed are:

  • How he got into the BDSM scene, his source of information on this lifestyle before the dawn of internet (1:35; 4:35).
  • How the internet helped the BDSM community to reach more people and how it served as a major resource for munches and events on the BDSM communities (3:46).
  • The background of his name – and how he sees his name not as just a title but a responsibility and commitment (6:20).
  • The difference between a submissive and a slave, the concept of collaring (8:31; 26:16), society’s stigma with submissives, and how being one entails strength, a nurturing nature, and being in touch with vulnerability, sensitivity and emotions (10:33; 42:00).
  • BDSM, DS, and MS explained, the power dynamics in the relationship, (12:18) and how it can be a lot healthier form of relationship than the traditional ones, what vanilla relationships can learn from a BDSM-based relationship which is built with more honesty, transparency, accountability, respect and explicit limitations thus mitigating power struggles (33:30).
  • Distinguishing a dominant, from someone who simply wants to dominate, or someone who is domineering (24:36).

  • How age can also be determinant to openness and expressing expectations – as the BDSM crowd tend to fall in the 35 and up age group (35:39).

  • The mistake of newbies getting overexcited with the idea of BDSM that instead of taking the time to find a good BDSM partner/master through meeting and connecting, they can fall prey to those who are just in for the sex, those who can get abusive or those not trained well in DS or MS relationships. (37:28).
  • His take on the 50 Shades phenomenon despite the books' inability to represent the lifestyle correctly, and what he perceives as the author's motivation to writing the books (49:47).

  • What he sees the future of kink and BDSM will be with the developments brought by technology (55:34).

  • Funny but real anecdotes of BDSM and kink newbies' jitters, anxiety, and experiences when they first become a part of the community (59:16)

Conflict will show up no matter what. Some people can handle it well. Others, not so much. The biggest issue with conflict, is that people are often afraid of confrontation. As a result, they avoid having the conversations they need to. And where does this lead? Misunderstanding, misinterpretation and feelings of betrayal.

The biggest key to resolving conflict is ultimately in your own hands. Listen to this show to find out what you can do.

What's the secret to having a good friend with benefits that doesn't end in emotional ruin? I've personally played with this kind of relationship for several years. Being forced to move constantly and establish myself repeatedly in new cities left me always needing to keep things casual longer than I wanted. As a result, I've learned what works to keep these kinds of relationships truly healthy. I've made some mistakes, but I've also had incredible connections with some amazing women. And for that, I am truly blessed. The truth is, there will more often than not be emotions that come up that will interfere with the "casual" nature of it. Like anything, there is a payoff and a struggle associated with any choice you make. If you choose not to have casual sex, you will have to wait months, if not years, before you have sex with someone you want to date. Be willing to embrace the dry spell! But, if you want to have a friend with benefits, you need to able to do these 2 things: 1) Navigate the emotions that will come up 2) Embrace the discomfort that comes when this type of relationship dynamic ends If you're able and willing to embrace the discomfort that comes with those 2 things, then you will be rewarded with intimate relationships, incredible sex, and amazing memories with partners you otherwise would have missed out on. In this podcast, I get into HOW you can do those 2 things healthily. Enjoy the show! We've all met some crazy people! And we've all got friends who seem to find themselves dating "crazy" partners.  Why is it that some people are just a big magnet for attracting "crazy" boyfriends/girlfriends?

An even more important question is what can we do to stop that "craziness" from interfering with our relationships.

There is a common theme in every single "crazy" persons actions. Today I share the theme and it's oriented around needs, and who's responsibility it truly is to dealing with that emotional volatility.  And it's not what you think!

I used to hate women. I used to really despise them. I thought they were all out to cheat on men, manipulate them, use them for their money, take away their children and generally hurt men in every way possible. I was basically the equivalent of a man hating feminist, but a woman hating "meninist."

My routine thought of "why don't women like me" plagued my mind. I would have women I was highly attracted to tell me "I like you, but just as a friend. I just wish more guys were like you...I keep dating assholes." This fed into my anger. How could women be so stupid as to date guys that would hurt them, when I was such a "nice guy"?

But once I realized the biggest factor in my happiness with women, that I started to heal from that anger and hate. And through that healing process, my relationships with women did a complete 180. Although I still get frustrated with women (don't we all get frustrated with each other sometimes though?), I love, admire, respect and trust women in ways I couldn't have even considered nearly a decade ago.

I share the steps I went through during that healing process. Enjoy the show!

Connor Beaton is back on the show after roughly a year since the last time he was the guest when we talked about something controversial. Connor is the founder of Man Talks, a community designed around building better fathers, husbands, leaders – better men in general.

Connor is a self-proclaimed renaissance guy who likes a range of things from opera and yoga to construction and boxing. Today we talk about all the aspects of masculinity in today's society and how it affects men's personality, emotions, and relationships.

Some of the things we talked about are:

  • What causes the difficulty of guys to understand women (5:38).
  • The Spartan Warrior’s Goji Training where young boys train to become warriors, where half of the day was spent training for combat, and the other half studying finer arts, music, and dance, and how these are integrated into creating elite warriors (6:34).
  • The definition of femininity and masculinity out of Osho’s description of light and its opposite – darkness (11:07), and how these also represent life and death (13:05).
  • How women see men and what it’s like to be in the presence of a man who is very masculine (14:02), and what presence is like in the mind, the physical sense, and spiritually-wise (15:30).
  • That what women want are not necessarily mind readers but proactive men who are in tune with women’s needs without having to ask (23:18).
  • The difference on how men connect physically vs. women connecting emotionally, how to bridge this gap, and examples to illustrate emotional connection (25:53).
  • How Connor views the differences between genders, how people identify into the dichotomy, and how associating with the opposite pole of the spectrum causes friction (33:31).
  • How masculinity was distorted by the ‘masculine’ role models we have in society and media (37:42).
  • His thoughts about toxic masculinity, generalization and, extremism; how to augment our world view through challenging existing beliefs, empathy and compassion; and how the lack of integration between masculinity and femininity causes vulnerability, shame, and guilt (39:00, 41:19).
  • The association of masculinity with aggression and death, contrasting anger from aggression, the significance of emotional resiliency, acknowledging the importance of challenges, and the difference between challenge and competition (48:49).
  • What’s the most masculine thing for men to do to diffuse conflict in a relationship (54:35), and how the belief that boys and later – men, cannot be weak sabotages their emotions and relationships (55:59; 1:02:22).
  • Distinguishing love from lust, the role empathy, compassion, communication, respect, and congruency plays in the distinction, and what is the key to a great relationship (1:04:05).
  • His thoughts on casual sex and sex-too-soon, and the importance of self-awareness, transparency, honesty and setting expectations in these scenarios (1:11:10; 1:16:26).
  • How sensitive men can connect to those who are less sensitive, which Connor expounds by using enlightenment as an analogy (1:20:35).
  • The essence of masculinity and femininity as experiences which people can both experience and integrate into their lives (1:26:45).

This episode felt more like a conversation rather than an interview. Truly an educating episode that ought to provide insights wherever in the gender spectrum one falls into.

A few weeks ago, a woman named Elizabeth Morris who works in a Sex Toy Store in the UK, contacted me with a link to an article about anal sex. Elizabeth is a content researcher and company merchandiser for Carvaka Sex Toys – which aims to get more people informed and educated about their sex lives. Elizabeth is a self-acclaimed anal sex fan and describes that it is more physically and mentally pleasurable and fulfilling when done right.

I am personally not as familiar or experienced with anal sex, so I definitely learned a lot on this episode. Elizabeth found herself giggling over my questions while I fumble for words, further highlighting my inexperience and awkwardness on the subject.

Some of the subjects we’ve covered are:

  • How Elizabeth (and the Carvaka Sex Toys store) wants to educate people about the full spectrum of sexual activities, including anal sex (3:23), thus the article she wrote.
  • Guidelines on anal sex etiquette, the most basic of which being cleanliness where Elizabeth detailed the hygiene rituals recommended pre-anal sex (5:32).
  • My personal experience with anal sex and the issues I encountered, as Elizabeth clarified how to avoid such issues through planning your meals and restroom habits (9:24).
  • Elizabeth introduces the P-Spot and the important role it plays in anal sex, and how it can be stimulated (11:06).
  • The stigma of society towards anal sex, especially when it is men that are being penetrated, and how it correlates with the traditional gender/sexual roles of dominants and submissives (14:15).
  • Elizabeth sets straight the very important question – is the anus tighter than the vagina (19:40)?
  • Kegel exercises, and how it affects the muscles surrounding the vagina and the anus for women (21:27).
  • The recommended pace for thrusting in anal sex, what are good methods (23:00), and preferred tools to slowly introduce anal stimulation and enjoy anal sex for both men and women (30:31; 31:32; 34:16).
  • Elizabeth’s educated insights on the risks and dangers of anal sex, from simple bacterial infection, tissues tearing, sexually transmitted infections and diseases (27:47), and even anal leakage (36:44).
  • Elizabeth also expounded on people putting odd objects in their bodies and how to make sure it is safe and doesn’t get lost inside (39:00).

EP 121: How to Beat Porn Addiction

We have another interesting episode for this week with our guest Kel Good. He is a relationship consultant, an IT guy, entrepreneur, and author of the book 5 Keys to Successfully Beat Porn Addiction; he was also a pastor and suffered porn addiction in the past.

I think the perfect word to describe this episode, the concepts and the stories we’ve talked about is enthralling. We chatted about his personal experience and the process of beating addiction which involved acknowledging it, and facing the addiction head on instead of avoiding it.

Truly an insightful conversation, some of the topics we’ve covered are:

  • How working as a relationship consultant, he noticed porn addiction is one of the recurrent themes, and how he made the correlation between addictions and lack of connection (2:20).
  • The process of writing the book, how he managed to write the initial draft in a day – going to sleep with an interest in Kindle publishing and waking up inspired and passionate to write the 5 keys (9:43), and the balancing act he did to make the book appeal to a general market despite its content leaning towards a Christian audience. (7:40).
  • An account of Kel’s personal experience which he called as an “emotional desert” made him cope through porn and masturbation (3:10), and how eventually the relationship breakup made him decide to fight his addiction (10:34).
  • His approach to telling actual stories with a certain degree of graphic detail to show sincerity and relatability for other people who also struggle with the same problem (11:38).
  • Kel discussed indications of addictions such as interfering with normal patterns in your daily life, hindering you from building and having relationships (19:53), and the inability to say no to the compulsion, further being dependent on it (21:02).
  • He also compared porn addiction as similar to any type of addiction, but still different because as opposed to alcoholism and drug addiction – these are foreign elements we are putting inside our bodies, whereas sex drive is natural (23:23)
  • His masturbation statistics when he was still addicted to porn (25:23), and how Christian values says that masturbating is a sin, creating guilt and shame (26:00).
  • An anecdote about a method he tried employing through the help of a theological view called Christian Perfectionism, which worked for a brief time, but when repression grew, his addiction came back (30:35).
  • He stressed the importance of understanding the actions and manifestations on a deeper level instead of creating guilt and shame – which is more difficult it is to overcome, and suggested knowing the root cause of addictions – self-control which is easier to deal with (33:36).
  • He provided an analogy to illustrate why avoidance is a weak solution and why it is more important to build strength to face temptation and not be triggered (40:27).
  • Kel recounted how he learned to face temptations which involved looking back on the addiction and the temptation, and exposure therapy (48:13).

He touched on the 5 Keys to Beat Porn Addiction in this episode too.

  • Key #1 Honesty. Admit it, acknowledge what you are struggling with (28:04).
  • Key #2 Stop looking for a miracle (or the secular version: breaking it off cold turkey) (29:55).
  • Key #3 Quit thinking it’s a sin, which involved changing the mindset, understanding the actions at a deeper level, removing guilt and shame, and knowing the root cause – which is self-control (33:36).
  • Key #4 Quit fleeing temptation, as avoidance is not the answer to most problems, especially addictions. (40:27)
  • Key #5 Quit doing it for everybody else. Recognize that your actions affect and potentially hurt people around you (52:22).

Check out A Man's Guide to Female Orgasm here: www.theintimatelifestyle.com/amansguide

The second you need your parter(s) to reach orgasm, or the second you feel like you need to perform and give her great sex, you’ve lost. Exchange that need for approval, for appreciation. Appreciation for the fact that you’re having sex, that she’s with you, that you’re feeling pleasure, that her orgasm says nothing about your manhood, and that your sexual performance says nothing about your manhood and masculinity.

Sexual performance is meant to be FUN, not an arbitrary and subjective measurement of your value as a human fucking being. Once you realize this, you’re no longer bound to your thoughts or fears or insecurities. It is a counter-intuitive power to stop caring about the results. But once you find that power, and you start appreciating, all the mental and emotional blocks fall away and results start to come very easily. Understand this concept, and your life will be so much happier.

Do you want to know 1 major key to giving women orgasms? Here it is: Stop giving a fuck.

Launching pre-sales of A Man's Guide on 1 Feb, and the product itself launches of 9 Feb. If you purchase between 1 and 9 Feb, you will be emailed the location of the file on the 9th.

This is not a claim. I am not perfect. But given what I do, and from personal experience while intensely and very deliberately studying this topic, I have learned a few things.

Today's episode is something that I wish I new when I was younger. But if I'm being honest, this is not an episode for the young man.  This is an episode for a young man who's transitioning into full manhood. A man who's ready to question his manhood and admit that maybe he's not a man; that he has more to learn.

A man who only knows how to fight, is only half a man.  A man who's too passive and is afraid of confrontation, cannot penetrate to the heart and deepest depths of a woman. He is the nice guy and will always finish last.

Enjoy.

For this week’s episode of Modern Sex Talks, we try to understand sexuality and kink on a deeper level with our guest, psychologist and sex therapist Galen Fous.

Galen Fous is the author of Decoding Your Kink and is the pioneer of the Personal Erotic Myth. Unlike most sex psychologist and therapists who believe that alternative sexuality is often brought about by childhood trauma, Galen proposed a different view to deal with kinks, BDSM and other sexual behavior considered taboo by general society.

Listen to this episode as Galen whose voice is reminiscent of the voice of God – Morgan Freeman, yearns to make us understand:

  • What motivated Galen to explore a niche subject that is discussed on the fringes of psychology (8:19).
  • realized lately that what were considered disorders are actually normal (8:19; 9:54).
  • His personal experience, being subjected to a very public and harsh outing amidst a divorce case that judged other facets of his life solely based on his sexual identity (11:02), and how this opened the possibility to raise awareness and become a public advocate to normalize kink sexuality (14:18).
  • The importance of community, of a support system of peers and colleagues that help in dealing with both internal conflict and external circumstances (17:31).
  • The idea that sex is not necessarily activated at puberty (19:39), and his explanation of the greater dimension of sexuality, the personal erotic myth, and the how the sexual experience gives you a peek of a person’s real sexual identity (20:06).
  • What Galen meant by saying Eros is a myth, based on the definition by Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell (25:11).
  • How the myth manifests in archetypes that people assume as part of their sexuality, and the sacred and profane side of the myth (28:08).
  • The notion that debunks that kinks are produced by trauma and is instead innate and is thus normal, not be healed nor fixed (29:56).
  • What is a persona and how does it manifest in day to day life and in sexuality (33:33; 36:42).
  • What can be done to remove the fear, shame, and stigma surrounding peoples’ authentic sexual identity (41:41).
  • How he initiates a working relationship with a client, and how the disenfranchisement of their sexuality manifests in the body level (43:00), and what is a good start to remove the shame, connect deeper and d have an awareness of your desires and experiences (44:30).
  • A technique he recommends as part of therapy that will help with containing your erotic persona (47:00).
  • Finding the right therapy that works for you (48:54), and how your intention is the anchor if you want to get healed, you must take your steps to support the intentions (50:04).

We have a quite enlightening episode today, with Brad Warner as our guest. Brad grew up in Ohio, but also spent a significant amount of his life in Kenya and Japan. He got into Zen whilst being the bass guitarist for punk rock band Zero Defex, he is also a blogger, and the author of Sex, Sin, and Zen.

Sex, Sin, and Zen is probably one of my favorite books out there and has made me realize how I relate to Zen Buddhism and the similarities of its teachings to basic principles I live by. In this episode, we talk about Zen Buddhism, its teachings, meditation, and how Zen Buddhism views some of the most controversial subjects of our time.

Clear your mind, get grounded and tune into our conversation as we discuss:

  • How Brad views the correlation of punk rock and Zen Buddhism, and its similarities in terms of questioning realities (3:09).
  • What are the forms of Buddhism, and what is Zen Buddhism (4:43)?
  • How Brad ended up writing about sex, Buddhism’s interpretation of sex and sexuality, its background, the percept that Buddha used as a guide on this subject (8:06, 18:26; 19:57); and its rules for lay people (20:54, 24:11).
  • How meditating can make it easier for an individual to reflect on their behavior and if one is going wrong (14:10).
  • The Four Noble Truths, dealing with desires, and how Brad interprets these based on his teacher’s wisdom (16:43).
  • The Buddhist stand on homosexuality and an anecdote on how it was misinterpreted a few years ago (21:34).
  • The Bodhisattva vows and his understanding of it (28:00).
  • How Buddhism views porn (31:06), and an analogy he made about porn to vegetarianism (34:49).
  • Buddhism’s perception of abortion, where we’re introduced to Jizo (36:12), and of prostitution, where we will be introduced to Ikkyu (41:02).
  • The concept of attachment and how this leads to pain and suffering (43:35).
  • How non-attachment may seem like complacency, the truth about the concept of acceptance (46:51), and how to fight for something while still practicing compassion (49:16).
  • A Zazen meditation crash-course (51:30).

Coming from a light-hearted episode with Rianna James, we will be shifting gears this week and discuss something more serious. A little somber for the holidays, but definitely worthwhile to listen to raise awareness on a subject not usually talked about but is relevant and must not be left on the sidelines.

To give you a background, our guest is Don Wright, the founder and Executive Director of the British Columbia Society for Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse (BCSMSSA). He pioneered professionals to provide therapy and treatment in the sexual abuse field. He was awarded by the B.C. Human Right Coalition with a human rights medal of honor for his work in this field.

Our insightful and relevant discussion today will leave you with some key takeaways and new learnings, including:

  • The four facilities focusing on male sexual abuse in Canada; One in BC under Don Wright; the Men’s Project in Ottawa which lost funding but was continued under private practice as Men’s Healing; one in Winnipeg; and another in Calgary (4:37).
  • How BCSMSSA has been sourcing its funds with the help of the BC government (6:05).
  • What was the reason Don started this movement, what set of events led to him forming it, and how he operated it from then to what it is now (7:26)?
  • Do men get sexually abused and how prevalent is it (10:07)?
  • The broader concept of sexuality abuse, which encompasses all experiences associated with sexual abuse plus covert experiences including indirect but intrusive contact, and discrimination based on sexual orientation (12:17).
  • The percentage split of boys and girls prior age 13 that have experienced some form of sexual abuse, and how numbers or percentage by gender should never be the qualifier or grounds whether therapy is available, or to validate the need for it (14:15).
  • The percentage of women perpetrators in male sexuality abuse, the instances of young boys having sexual relations with older women, and the double standards that come into play with how people view sexual abuse (16:26).
  • The shame, confusion, other emotions, and dissociation that are results of manipulation and being sexuality abused (19:57).
  • An even more complex effect of abuse that manifested in one of his therapies where the victim had disassociative identity disorder (21:01).
  • Who are the most common perpetrators of sexual abuse (24:00).
  • Factors preventing men from asking for help (25:33) like Homophobia (26:14), lack of services (26:14), and fear of emasculation where men do not want to admit they were hurt (29:13).
  • The need for a program to provide facilities, which is currently non-existent, to house male domestic violence victims (30:48).
  • The adverse effects of having boys and men abused who were unable to vent out (35:22).
  • How facing the pain, getting help and acknowledging you’re a victim takes courage (39:55)
  • Certain traumatic experiences and memories that manifest throughout a person’s life with a specific case illustrating such which negatively affected their sexuality and lives in general during adulthood (42:00).

All too often we hear an overly romantic sentiment "I just want you to be happy!" or something else to that effect.

It creates a feeling of martyrdom. 'I will sacrifice my happiness and be of service to you, because you complete me. As long as you're happy, I'm happy. If you're not happy, I have failed you, and I should jump off a cliff.'

This is the Hollywood version of love. But in reality, there's a simple thing we can do to be more attractive to potential mates and keep our partners interested. Listen in and enjoy the show!

We are celebrating the 100th episode of Modern Sex Talks today, and we have an extra-special guest. Our resource person will be using the pseudonym Mae, and she is a sex worker. Contrary to common perception though, she does not engage in penetrative sex, but instead uses her touch to express sensuality through tantric massages.

In this episode, Mae will expound on the concepts of tantra, spirituality, compassion, love and sexuality. Together we will learn about an industry society has filled with stigma and misconception. Let us all listen as Mae discusses:

  • Tantric massage, how she does her job (2:15), how she views her work, and how it affects other people’s lives (8:20).
  • What she does as a sex worker, the limitations in this line of work, and the difference of sex work vs. human trafficking (4:55).
  • The story on how she got into this trade, and how it transformed her life (12:13).
  • How she asserts her boundaries (20:54), the dangers involved in this type of work (27:07), and how she protects herself from negativity (48:18)
  • The concept of two types of prostitutes (23:36).
  • The stigma that sex workers use drugs, undergone trauma, or has a mental condition (31:40), and how she dealt with these (36:00).
  • Practical tips she can give to other sex workers on an emotional and psychological level (41:50).
  • Her insights on the gender dynamics (53:51), the power of sexuality or how it ties up to spirituality (57:36).

I also share a personal story about the darkness I experienced when I was in the army, where darkness is being celebrated. And how this juxtaposes to sex workers healing people from trauma, offering intimate therapies, and yet they’re being looked at with disdain (59:51).

Mae is also working on a project that will transform the sex industry and provide support to its workers, though she decided to keep the details in the meantime. But we’ll make sure to cover that once it launches. For now, you can check out http://sensualgenius.com/ if you want to connect with her.

I hope you enjoyed this very special 100th episode, and we'd love it if you'll show us your support by giving us a rating and review, as well as follow us @ModernSexTalks on all Social Media.

SLUT = Sexually Liberated Unapologetically Thrilled
SLUT = Sexually Liberated Ugly-bits Tickler

However you decide to look at it, sluts are amazing. As a woman, there are innumerable benefits to women for being sexually liberated. And as a man, you have no right to complain it's hard to get laid if you ever say a woman is a slut, in a derogatory manner, for sleeping around.

I don't believe it's important to be promiscuous to become a SLUT, but it can't hurt! Today I share my thoughts on why we need more sluts.

Karolina Tatarenkova. A Russian Sex Therapist based in Vancouver, BC, Canada loves talking about cock. And confidence. Cockfidence!  So many men derive their confidence from the size or shape of their dick. This stems from pornography and misguided societal influences.  Karolina will tells us about why that happens, why it's bullshit, and how to generate some serious cockfidence. Cockfidence is the recognition that your value as a man, and in the bedroom, is not reliant on your penis. It’s reliant on you as a lover. What is with the advice "just be yourself'? I remember hearing that and thinking...what am I NOT being? How is this supposed to be good advice. It wasn't until I realized that the majority of my actions were driven by a desire to be accepted by others, that I learned what it meant to be myself.

In this episode, I explain why the advice "just be yourself" is baloney, and how you can start to "be yourself." If authenticity is the name of your game here, and you're struggling with how frustrating people are and how they don't seem to "know" you, this episode will be right up your alley.

Today's episode is a short segment from EP034: Male Emotionality.

Male emotion is Dr Duana Welch's next target. She's here to destroy some myths around male emotionality. It’s certainly not a fluffy show. She explains that men tend to fall in love faster, and fall out of love longer and harder. Men also experience love at first sight at a much larger rate than women. Essentially, research has shown that when it comes to romantic relationships, men are just as, if not more emotional, than women. This is shown by statistics that men, who typically don’t need marriage, choose to get re-married more often than women, after a divorce. And statistics have shown that men tend to say “I love you” sooner than the woman. All around this is a pretty interesting episode.

Did you know that women can experience up to 11 types of orgasm?  Yea. Women can actually experience more than that. But as Devi says in this interview, we model our understanding of orgasm off of a teenage boys experience of ejaculation.

Our understanding of orgasm is currently a climax, where there is a quick rise, huge peak, and then a quick rush down.  But an orgasm doesn’t need to have a climax like that. Instead, it can be an extended peak of pleasure. Or a rush of pleasure or tingling, or any other peak that sticks around.  It can show up in multiple different ways.

And Devi shares 3 MAIN BLOCKS that prevent women from experiencing:

-clitoral orgasms
-G-spot Orgasms
-Urethral Opening Orgasms
-Cervical Orgasms
-Uteran Orgasms
-Ear gasms
-Throat gasms
-and a whole lot more.

The male ego gets a bad rep. But it serves a purpose. What is that purpose? The same one that the female ego serves. To be desireable.

A woman's ego is centered around beauty and youth.  A man's ego is centered around strength.  How does that strength play out? By having a larger ego, and never showing weakness.  Target a man's ego, and you target his entire value as a human being.

Forgiveness is necessary for you to be happy, not so you can be good.  And it may be the hardest thing you’ve ever had to do, but it will be the most rewarding.

The orgasm "gap" is a big topic of conversation. Women don't experience orgasm during sex nearly as much as men.  But who's "fault" is that? A lot of people will claim it's men's faults and that men don't put in enough effort. Although to some degree that may be the case, I can speak from personal experience that no matter how much effort I put in, she's not going to have an orgasm.

In today's episode I dive into a concept of "leaning in" and where men AND women can take responsibility to curb the orgasm gap.

He also shares some information that he has NEVER shared online before.  You will be listening, for the first time, Eyal sharing the 5 different types of touch.

Sometimes, no matter how turned on we get with a partner, we simply won’t cum.  It’s frustrating as hell for us guys, and it can be insulting for our partners. “Am I not hot enough, or turning you on enough?” are some thoughts that might be rolling around in his/her head.

The truth is, it shouldn’t be insulting. Because when we can’t orgasm, it’s rarely our partner. 95% of the time, it’s our shit that’s preventing us from either knowing our own arousal or communicating our needs or dealing with our sexual shame.  This goes for both women and men.

Today's episode is a conversation between me and a past client and friend who's dealt with not being able to ejaculate during sex.  I offer him a few solutions.  Some may resonate well with you, and others may not.  It's a subjective thing, orgasm.  If you want some personalized, more in depth help, you can reach me at ryan@modernsextalks.com for a free 20min consult.

Erectile dysfunction is a fucking pain.  It's embarrassing.  But it doesn't have to be. It's only embarrassing if a man ties his identity to his erection and "performance" in the bedroom.  That's not what makes a man. A man is defined by his ability to handle challenges, and how he treats the people he encounters in life.

But obviously, we want to have erections. So in today's show, I give you some personal stories, and some information on various reasons why men can encounter this challenge, and different solutions.  I hope this helps you!

Is sex always this mindblowingly amazing experience for you? Hell, I teach this stuff and sometimes it's not all that great. But something weird happens when it's not all that good. We get either upset, or really disappointed or we feel insecure, or we blame our partner.

But maybe, we should just accept that sometimes, sex isn't going to be all that great. Sometimes it's going to be lack luster. And that's okay.

But there are 2 things that we can do to prevent those lack luster experiences from happening too often.

Believe it or not, not all touch is deliberate. Sometimes we do it unconsciously because we're feeling insecure.  Which is not sexy.  And women often feel uncomfortable asking for what they want, which means men don't know how to ask. And since men don't learn how to touch better, and they're not allowed to ask, their touch is mediocre. It's a not so merry-go-round.

Robert Kandell, the Founder of Tuff Love has over 15 years of instruction in touch, specifically oriented around female orgasm. He's going to explain how to have the right mindset around touch, as well as some exercises you can play with at home tonight. Enjoy the show!

We've talked a lot about ejaculation. The last few weeks we were talking about mindset, and in my mind, that's the most important thing. But today, I'm giving you a practical tip that you can use to improve your pleasure and last longer in the bedroom. Here are the basic rules:

1) No porn.

2) Masturbate for 20min at least 4 times a week

3) Ejaculate only once a week

4) Play with your arousal arc (which we get into in the show)

Orgasmic Meditation is when a woman lies on the floor and has someone stroke her clitoris for 15 minutes. It's a great way for women to deepen their pleasure, and learn how to ask for what they want without feeling guilty. And despite the name, it's not actually driven by orgasm.

Every Tuesday we have a "Just the Tip Tuesday" episode that is a 10 minute segment from a previous episode. This segment is from Episode 3 titled Orgasmic Meditation. If you enjoy this segment head over to the full interview and give it a listen.

And yes, those two are mutually exclusive. If you’d like to reach Karolina, you can find her at www.passioninlove.com.

Dr Duana Welch is back again to destroy some myths around male emotionality.

Duana is the author of Love Factually: 10 Proven Steps from I Wish to I Do (2015)—the first science-based book to take you from before you meet until you commit to The One. Duana launched LoveScience in 2009. Duana is also a contributor at Psychology Today and at eHarmony, taught psychology at Austin, Texas universities, was twice voted Professor of the Year, and received a NISOD Teaching Excellence award in 2012.

The ‘swinging’ community, better and more properly termed the Lifestyle, has a bit of a bad reputation. Please welcome John Zorklunn. He’s been in the BDSM community for nearly two decades, and has been specializing in Rope Play or Rope Bondage. This is a special type of bondage that can involve very intricate knots, tying up people and then suspending them either from the ceiling, rafters or other instruments. It can also be quite aggressive. The main elements behind rope bondage though, are empathy, communication, negotiation and after-care. Without these elements fully respected, the rope play itself can wind up pretty nasty. This show was incredibly interesting. We hope you enjoy it! Women are constantly emasculating men, because they don’t feel appreciated. And men are angry with women, because they don’t feel appreciated either. So neither of us are feeling appreciated, and it’s creating this back and forth separation. A battle of the sexes. How can women learn more about men and encourage them? And how can men learn more about, and encourage women? The first step comes down to listening. And remaining emotionally steadfast during emotional turbulence, and allowing our partners to be angry, or upset, without judging them.

And probably my favourite line throughout this episode, was when Dr Gayle Friend said, “We’re taught to value performance and achievement over connection and intimacy.” It really highlights how we misinterpret intimacy in our relationships. As a heads up, this episode is primarily focussed on men finding the right partner. Myke has a really interesting story. He came to Canada from the Phillipines as a teenager in high school, having never seen a microwave or white people. He couldn’t speak English, was overweight, and was incredibly shy. After years of loneliness, he dove into the world of Pick-up Artists and started to learn how to be a social, confident man.

After doing that for years, he decided to move away from the Pick-Up Artist world, and started his own business as a dating coach. In his own brand, he focusses on helping men find the confidence, and social skills to overcome social anxieties and bad habits, and he does so with integrity. His motto is to always leave women (and men) better then when you found them. Myke can be reached at www.socialmanproject.com, and he has free webinars for you to listen in on, and get some tips to find your ideal partner, build confidence, and set yourself up for success in the dating world.

Orgasmic Meditation?! So basically, there’s this culture of people who love meditation, and who love orgasms. So they decided to combine the two. This is a really interesting episode where Stacey Punham Foley, a practitioner and certified instructor of the OM (orgasmic meditation) practice, explains what it is, how it’s done, how it opens up women to some incredible orgasms, and where people can learn more about it. If you’re interested in learning about OM and you’re in Vancouver, you can go to www.meetup.com/turnonvancouver. Or you can check her out on Facebook by searching TurnOn Vancouver. OR, you can look up Orgasmic Meditation in the google machine for information on training near you.

Today’s show we’re simply welcoming you to our podcast, Modern SexTalks. We’ll be telling you what motivated us to start making changes, and start interviewing the experts in the fields of sex and intimacy for you (and for us…we like sex stuff!). We’re pretty new to this whole podcast thing, and we want to give you the best experience possible, so all feedback is welcome.
