I was invited to give a talk to patients with wet macular degeneration on how the COVID 19 pandemic has affected the way treatment is provided. The talk has 3 sections, an introduction to the virus itself, then a discussion about the way patients are diagnosed and managed at the West of England Eye Unit and finally an update on research and new developments in wet macular degeneration. After my talk there were several questions that had been submitted by patients that I responded to covering all aspects of the management of this condition.
In this podcast I will describe why YAG laser treatment is sometimes needed after cataract surgery, how the procedure is performed and what are the risks and benefits of this treatment.
