Today I sat down with MuuvWell CEO, Kevin Winn, and talk all things Hot Rod Ultra.

The Hot Rod Ultra is a 24 hour ultramarathon that takes place inside of a baseball stadium, where participants run a .31 mile loop to try and cover as many miles during the event. There is a 12 hour and 24 hour solo option, and a "relay" option for teams of up to 4 people.

Kevin started this race in 2020, but it looked nothing like it does now, and wasn't even named yet. Now as we approach the 4th year of it's current format, we talk about how and why this race is so special and a must experience event!

This week our topic is simple - "Go For It".

Let me rephrase: The concept of this is simple, the action is not always that way. There is so much growth, empowerment and learning when we go for something that scares us - whether it is fitness, business, or financial related.

One quote to hold onto is "Almost every meaningful decision you make in life has risk on the other side of it." When you go for something that scares you, this will ring in your head over and over.

Join me as we talk about my experiences in doing something that scares me, and how much these decisions have impacted my life in a positive way.

I hope you find some value from this.

Today I sat down with entrepreneur, fitness enthusiast, and compelling story teller, Mark Joe. Mark is a 30 year old business owner residing in St. Louis, but 10 years ago, his life looked nothing like this.

Mark was raised in drug & alcohol addicted household, which later led to him and his twin brother in foster homes, then eventually adopted by a family. After losing his older brother at 16, Mark took a turn to rebelling behaviors which eventually landed him a prison sentence that stretched for 5+ years.

It took Mark 3 years into his sentence to make any sort of change, but he did it. After serving out his 5+ years, Mark got out and built a personal training business that started in a 150 sq. ft. room, and quickly ended up in 3,500 sq. ft. From there, he became a top salesman with 1st Phorm: a well known nutrition/supplement company founded by Andy Frisella & HQ'd in the St. Louis area.

We are made to move. As humans, we are blessed with the ability to walk, run, jump, climb, swim, and do many other physical movements. From a historical standpoint, humans were relatively active in everyday life (work, leisure etc.) until the 20th century. With the rapid progression of technology, the requirement to be physically active has greatly declined. It is no coincidence that the reduced need for movement has resulted in a rapid decline of population health. Chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes and hypertension are at an all-time high in America.

In order to combat chronic disease and sedentary lifestyles, fitness centers and diet programs seem to be popping up everywhere. If you scroll through social media, it is common to see friends and family promoting various health and wellness products promising a better lifestyle. While nothing is wrong with these programs, there are many people that prefer not to participate. If this is you, that’s okay! Physical activity doesn’t always have to be a structured “workout” that can only be performed in a fitness center. In fact, being physically active can be fun, rewarding, and be blended into our daily lives.

In the month of September, we are excited to be discussing all things physical wellness! We will be providing various strategies that will increase physical activity and allow you to enjoy healthy movement! No matter where you are in your wellness journey, MuuvWell is here as your guide to assist you in becoming the best version of yourself.

From www.mythreefiftynine.com:

"Author & Speaker Dan Klein began the My 3:59 movement with the dunk of a basketball. It was just after his 42nd birthday but much more meaningful than his age was that it occurred seven months after his final cancer treatment. “After going through everything cancer puts you through—physically, emotionally, psychologically, & spiritually—I came away with a different perspective on life. A very different perspective on what I can and what I can’t do.” Dan uses cancer as a proxy for any and all of the challenges we face in life. The story of his journey, and his message of determination, vision, and purpose resonates with a wide variety of people. Dan is a sought-after keynote speaker and works with corporate leadership and sales teams. He has spoken at a wide variety of venues, ranging from national conferences, sales conferences, religious retreats, and even small country churches. Dan’s message of living every day and giving everything you have to achieve your impossible in order to become the person we are called to be continues to inspire and motivate others to achieve their own My 3:59."
