The red hot New York Rangers rolled into the Christmas break winning 8 of their last 9 games. The future of the New York Rangers will be on display the next couple weeks as the U20 World Junior Championships are underway. The Rangers have 5 prospects participating, the second most of any team. This week we are joined by Rangers ECHL affiliate assitant coach and former New York Ranger Brandon Mashinter. Brandon tells some great stories from his 12 year pro career, including an all timer about John Tortorella and Marion Gaborik from his time in New York.
The Rangers are on fire! After getting embarrassed at home against Chicago two weeks ago the Rangers have won 7 straight to get right back in the Metro hunt! This week we are joined by our good friend Colin Stephenson again who always brings such insight. Are the New York Rangers back? The Rangers won a thriller at MSG Monday night against the NHL leading New Jersey Devils to extend their winning streak to 4 games, the longest this season. After a year of ups and down could this be the turning point for the Rangers season?! We are joined this week by former New York Rangers goalie Dov Grumet-Morris. Dov had two very successful stints with the Rangers organization with Hartford, leading the Wolf Pack to the playoffs during the 2010-11 season, stealing the net from Cam Talbot. Dov is also a Harvard University Hall of Famer. He is one of the best goalies to ever play at the esteemed University.
The Rangers did not get the bounce-back week they needed, only getting 5 points of a possible 8 from 4 struggling teams last week. They did bounce back from an embarrassing loss Saturday at MSG with their first comeback win of the season against the Blues Monday night. The team is still very much in the hunt but needs to find some consistency. We are joined this week by Rangers ECHL affiliate, Jacksonville Icemen Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Nick Luukko! Nick led the Icemen in their first season as a Rangers affiliate to a franchise record 40 wins and also won their first playoff series. Nick shares his hockey journey from player to now coach and we also talk about the Rangers prospects he is coaching down in Jacksonville.
The Rangers suffered another bad loss at MSG to the Devils, now falling into a 3-game losing streak off the heels of one of the most embarrassing losses in recent memory against the Oilers over the weekend. The Rangers have a few last-place teams on the schedule this week so now is the time to turn it around. We are joined by an NHL legend and should-be Hall of Famer Bernie Nicholls! Bernie tells some amazing stories from his outstanding career. We talk about his 1988-89 season one of the best in NHL history, scoring 70 goals and putting up 150 points. His near-decade run in LA, coming to the Rangers, playing against the Rangers with the Devils in the memorable 1993-94 Eastern Conference Final and so much more!

What an up and down week for the Rangers. They play an awful third period against the Islanders and let up 3 unanswered goals to lose and then the next game score 6 unanswered goals in the third period to win. Adam Fox is a stud. Vincent Trocheck has been a great addition. Our good friend Arda Ocal of ESPN returns as a guest this week. Rough week for the New York Rangers, they got outplayed by two bad teams, the San Jose Sharks and Columbus Blue Jackets at home. Filip Chytil is out for at least a week with an upper-body injury. The new Lady Liberty retro reverse jersey was released. On Tuesday night, Alexandar Georgiev returns to MSG to take on his former team. This week we are joined by former New York Ranger Pat Flatley. Although Pat played a season for the Rangers he is a New York Islanders legend and Hall of Famer. Pat shares some awesome stories from those great 80's Islanders team, the rough early 90's, and how he ended up playing for the Isles hated rivals!

We are just 21 days away from the New York Rangers season opener! Major breaking news the Rangers trade Nils Lundkvist on the eve of training camp kicking off. The Rangers prospect camp wrapped up with two games against the Flyers prospects. The Rangers lost both games, but friend of the show Riley Armstrong joins to talk about the games. He was behind the bench coaching the young Flyers, so it was great to get his insight on which Rangers prospects stood out to him. Armstrong is heading into this second season behind the bench as an assistant coach with Lehigh Valley, the Flyers AHL team, following three seasons as the Head Coach of the Rangers ECHL affiliate Maine Mariners.

We are now just a few weeks away from New York Rangers training camp. Brett Berard will represent Team USA, Adam Sykora will represent Slovakia, Jaroslav Chmelar will represent the Czech Republic, and Kalle Väisänen will represent Finland. After giving away Game 1 and a very cautious Game 2 loss down in Raleigh the Rangers needed to win on home ice. The biggest story from the game was the disallowed goal scored by Filip Chytil which would have given the Rangers the lead with under 5 minutes to go in the game. With the NHL still temporarily shut down it was a quiet week. We are joined this week by 2021 Rangers draft pick Ryder Korczak! Ryder is quickly shooting up the prospect rankings and is having a great season for the Moose Jaw Warriors in the WHL. Korczak is also red hot right now, he was just named the WHL player of the week. He currently is Moose Jaw's leading scorer with 35 points and is 3rd in the WHL with 25 assists. Ryder talks about getting drafted, getting invited to training camp, his current WHL season, and so much more! Great chance for fans to get to know one of the Rangers top prospects.
The NHL is now under a Covid lockdown. Following a week of team shutdowns, the league is now instituting a league-wide shutdown from December 22nd to 26th. The Rangers currently only have one positive case so hopefully, it ends there, and the shutdown with help the rest of the league get their positives under control. We are joined this week by former New York Ranger and German hockey legend John Tripp. John had quite the journey to the NHL, grinding it out for six and half years in the minors before making his NHL debut with the Rangers. After 7 professional seasons in North America, including 43 NHL games, John left to play in Germany. Tripp would become a German hockey legend, playing 12 seasons in the German leagues, he represented Germany in over 110 international games, including 6 World Championships and the 2010 Olympics. John had an incredible career and tells some great stories from his long 19-year professional career.
Alexandar Georgiev has really stepped up in Igor Shesterkin's absence. Winning 3 of his 4 starts and is sporting a 1.42 GAA. Artemi Panarin registered point 500 for his career against his former team, the Chicago Blackhawks last week, he is also red hot. Mika Zibanejad snapped a 14 game goalless streak. The Rangers need him to regain his scoring touch. At 18-6-3 they enter the week a point behind Washington for first place in the Metro. This week we are joined by AHL legend Matthew Ford. Ford just announced his retirement last month after 12 professional seasons and 716 AHL games. He tells some great stories from his long career that any hockey fan would love!

The Rangers lost one of the greatest players in team history "Mr. Ranger" and Hockey Hall of Famer Rod Gilbert. The hockey world also mourns the loss of former NY Rangers player Kevin Hayes' brother Jimmy who passed away unexpectantly at 31 years old. The King, Henrik Lundqvist announced his retirement this past weekend and the Rangers also announced they will be retiring this number 30 this season. The Rangers also announced their full coaching staff for the upcoming season. This week our guest is former New York Rangers defenseman Thomas Poeck.
