This podcast is about living life on life’s terms, intentionally or not. It’s about my slow spiritual journey through learning to be a human. The name comes from recovery literature, “...you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the road of Happy Destiny.” And I have met many amazing angels along the way who’ve given me many blessings to pass along, in disguise or not. Here are the stories.
With the move to Washington state my parents lost me until adulthood. I didn’t believe in their power any longer and I certainly didn’t trust their choices. An amazing side effect was I also didn’t believe anyone else had power over me. Definitely a gift that has two sides. And, I’m not saying I didn’t give my own power away occasionally.

I’m taking you back through the last couple of months of my travels. Some of my listeners really want to hear the stories, so I’ll tell them This process is also my way of coming to understand I’m going to be OK. I continue to have nervous butterflies and everyday brings new challenges on this journey. This week, I find myself exploring my dual drives for both migration and connectedness. Where do they come from? Are they related?
Sometimes I don’t recognize or acknowledge when I’m in a situation where there’s good reason to have trepidation or insecurity. Not recognizing those feelings leads to more intense fears. Here’s how I cope. Or not.
I find it interesting that women always seems to be looking for their mothers or grandmothers, whether their mothers and grandmothers are alive or dead. Maggie and I talk about her mother, my grandmother and the differences in our experiences. Plus, Maggie shares a tribute to her mother in her own words. Priceless to us both.
All of us make decisions as children to protect ourselves from feelings and thoughts. We don’t know when we’re young that thoughts and feelings are our own, that we are in charge of them, we just want to feel safe. Here’s my story of one of those situations where I made a huge decision that affected my entire life and still does.
