Opening up to Acts 9:1-31, Saul moves from persecuting Christians to speaking boldly about Jesus, the Son of God. We will see here that no one is too bad or too broken to be reconciled to God.
In Acts 8 we see Philip the evangelist listening to God’s call and following it, even if it meant getting out of his comfort zone. We’ll walk through the Scripture and learn from Philip how we too can help others find and follow Jesus.
This week, we’re picking up in Acts 6:8-8:3 and looking at the story of Stephen, one of the first Tablesetters of the Church and the first martyr of the Jesus movement. This passage is not only one of the most profound events in the Book of Acts, but it is also a pivot point for the rest of the Book of Acts. As we look at this narrative, we will learn from what Stephen has to say as he is put on trial for his allegiance to Jesus and we will see what motived Stephen to so faithfully follow, even in the midst of persecution.
We’re back in our Pivot series with Acts 6:1-7. We’ll see here, that the church’s growth had happened so rapidly that others were needed to help the Apostles carry out the mission. This is the section of Scripture where we get the word we use a lot around NMC, Tablesetters.

In Acts 5:29 Peter and the apostles reply “We must obey God rather than human beings!" Rob uses this verse as a starting point to see what the Word says on Who is really in control, who we are, and why we are here.
So far, almost all of what we've looked at in this series has been uplifting and encouraging. This week, well, the tone takes a different direction as we see members of the early church hiding and lying to God for the sake of their own praise.
This week we explore the first recorded prayer of the church in Acts. As we take a look at what they prayed for, we will be encouraged to see how their prayer has impacted us today and we will be challenged to think about pivoting our own prayers.
In Acts chapter 3, we will see a clear picture of the Lord’s kindness, faithfulness, and promises as we look back at what has been done, look at what the Lord is doing in our lives, and look forward to what the Lord has promised to do in the future. This is where we find our hope. And in this difficult season, we want to encourage all of you to pivot your perspective to see the Lord’s ongoing work in the world and in our lives.

We, as a church, have been called to sponsor 400 children in a village in Kenya and so many more amazing stories like Jey's are waiting to unfold. On this Sunday, February 9, 2020, we sponsored over 578 children in a village in Kenya!
In week four of our series, "The Darkroom," Rob talks about the gift of God allowing us a darkroom time to grow and groom us in the way he wants us to before we are appointed. Between the anointing and the appointing lies a darkroom.
In week three of The Darkroom, Rob talks about the story of Esther and her place in history being a very normal woman mightily used by God to save an entire generation.
In week two of the darkroom, Rob talks about the story of Joseph, how we can be developed in our own darkroom. Just as Joseph still acted honorably through his years in slavery, may we act honorably for God's glory no matter how dire our circumstances may seem because the breakthrough might be closer than we think.
In order for film to be developed into a photo, a photographer must take the film into a darkroom where the film is taken through a meticulous chemical process. As followers of Jesus, God takes each of us through times, often difficult times, in order to develop us into the image of His Son. In our next series, entitled The Darkroom, we are going to take a look at several people throughout the Bible who had to go through a “darkroom” experience that would prepare them for God’s call on their lives. In the process, our hope is that we will all discover what they learned and apply it to our lives.

The foundation upon which 1000 Found is our church’s loving God with all of our heart, with all of our soul and with all of our mind. Tactics, strategies, systems, vision as important as these are, will not suffice. But if we, North Metro Church, prioritize loving God with all that we are, 1000 Found is just the beginning.

As we begin the series, we will look to whom Jesus directed his prayer. There is an intimacy in which Jesus approaches the One True God that had not been seen before. We will also lay down the principle; It's not just what you say, it's how you say it.
When someone else hurts us, we want justice - though the problem is in life that usually never happens. God has given us a way to bury the hatchet that we would least expect, forgiveness. As we close this series, we will walk through the biblical process of forgiveness to find that freedom in Christ from what we've been holding on to.

For those that have hurt us, we can't begin the process of burying the hatchet if we don't first identify who has wounded us and how they have wounded us. Parenting is one of God’s major tools for sanctification. The cost is great, but the reward for both parents and children is priceless.
One of the great struggles in all marriages is conflict. No matter who you are or where you’re from, it is impossible to always agree with someone. Especially when you live and are raising a family together. So how do we respectfully disagree with our spouse, while not destroying or humiliating them? This week, with Scripture as the primary guide, adults and couples will be encouraged to fight fair.
Week 3 in the series Team Us. Once the team has come together, a shift takes place. For some, this shift happens over night. For others, it takes many years. This is the shift from ME to WE. This week, we will explore the key ingredient of humility and submission to one another in order to properly move from ME to WE.
God created marriage to be a team venture. But how does, and more importantly, how should the team come together. This week, we will explore the progression from, “Nice to meet you” to “I Do!” with specific emphasis on how God has called us to prepare our people for marriage.
As we begin the Team Us teaching series, we will discuss the end goal of marriage: Eternity. Having a picture of where you are going greatly helps you get there.
Next Sunday is Easter. In the Christian world, this time of year brings with it great anticipation, excitement, and worship. As we prepare to celebrate the gospel together, two things will grow and enhance our ability to do this collectively: Prayer and Fasting. Both of these things are forms of worship. Fasting is how we worship God through dependence upon Him rather than earthly materials or sustenance. Prayer is how we connect and communicate with this loving God and express our heart and worship to Him.
Worship is revelation and response. The goodness of God is revealed in all of life, but the Word of God is the primary place of revelation. One of the best ways we can worship God beyond a song is setting aside time to read and study His Word each day. Every time we do this, worship takes place. We receive God’s revelation and respond according to what’s been revealed. The Word renews our mind and transforms the way we live. The desire for this week is that adults leave and desire to spend time in God’s Word, growing in their love and worship of Him.
So far, we’ve said that we all worship. Worship is more than a song, is clear in the way we live our lives, but includes singing songs. This week, we will look at another way that worship is more than a song, yet takes place within the walls of the church. Each Sunday, hundreds of adults and college students come and serve during our services. Around here, we call these people Table Setters. Each of them sets the table for more people to come and worship God with us. Setting the table for someone else to worship, though, is also a form of worship. It’s a picture of our laying down our lives and sacrificially serving someone else as Christ did for us. Adults will be inspired to serve and set the table as part of their weekly worship here at NMC.
As we stated last week, worship is definitely more than a song. But, singing is a key part of our worship to God. So why do we sing? What are we communicating when we sing songs each week? We sing as a response to what’s been revealed to us about God. We sing about God and to God. We sing to teach and remind ourselves the timeless truth’s in God’s Word. Singing also takes on a variety of postures. Some kneel, bow, or raise their hands. Each posture is significant as well. This week, adults will be informed of the what, why, and how or worship through song, and encouraged to sing and worship freely each Sunday.
We’re all worshippers. Whether we believe in Jesus or not, we all worship something, because worship is simply revelation and response. Whatever grabs our attention and holds our energy and affection is what we worship. Clearly, it’s more than singing a song. For those who follow God, worship is a life of response to God for who He is and what he’s done for us. As we begin our time in this series, adults will be challenged to survey what they worship with their lives, and to choose to embrace a lifestyle of worship to their great Heavenly Father.
As we conclude the series, we will look at one more pivotal way that God calls us to treat one another, encouragement. We are called to remind one another of the great things God has done, as well as the future hope we have in Christ's return.
This week the call is to serve one person in our sphere of influence, asking God to make us humble and more like Christ.
Last week we talked about confessing our sins to one another, now we will build on that with carrying one another's burdens.
The Bible calls for us to confess our sins to one another, but in reality many of us rarely do. God designed confession to bring sin out into the light and set us free. We all have a mess, therefore confess.
As we continue to discover what it means to live out the Golden Rule, one of the most important things we can do is pray for one another.
Love reveals a powerful truth, all of our sins have been forgiven. Because of the forgiveness we have received, we are called to forgive one another. Forgiven people, forgive people.
With the context of the Golden Rule established, we can now dive into the most important way to live towards one another. That way is love.
We begin One Anothering sermon series with the Golden Rule: Do to one another what you would like done to you. Though many have heard this powerful statement, it's possible they've lost sigh of the context in which Jesus was delivering it.

Having an appreciation for God’s commandments can lead us to a deeper trust in Him. This week’s message is focused on the fifth commandment: Honor your father and mother.

The 10 Commandments are a picture of freedom and God uses them to protect us so that we can live in this freedom. We are free from slavery and free for the purposes of God.
