What if the story of the prodigal son isn’t just about rebellion—but about all of us? In this episode, Kathy and I take a fresh look at one of Jesus’ most well-known parables.
We unpack the younger son’s fall, the older son’s pride, and the father’s unexpected, culture-defying grace. It’s more than a story—it’s a picture of God’s heart for redemption.
Join us as we rediscover what this parable really says about forgiveness, maturity, and the love that always runs toward us.
Key Takeaways:
Can religion lead us to feel lost rather than found? It might sound counterintuitive, but the parables from Luke 15 offer a powerful lens through which to examine this idea. We'll unpack the narratives of the lost sheep, the Good Samaritan, and others to challenge modern interpretations that may have missed Jesus's radical compassion and intent. By scrutinizing the roles of tax collectors and so-called sinners as covenant people entangled in the religious rigidity of their time, we aim to reveal fresh insights about being "lost" within one's own faith tradition.
Our conversation doesn't shy away from addressing how religious practices today can sometimes overshadow genuine spiritual connection. With the story of the Good Samaritan, we explore the danger of letting nominal Christianity—rooted in self-effort and moralism—distract from the true spiritual rest and power that Jesus promised. By examining these biblical tales, we underscore the enduring relevance of Jesus's message of rest for those overwhelmed by religious expectations, both then and now.

Being a disciple of Jesus demands everything—and it’s time we faced the truth. Many believe following Christ requires little to no sacrifice, but through a thought-provoking discussion of Luke 14:25-33, Kathy Gray and I tackle the profound costs involved in true discipleship. We unpack the often-misunderstood idea that Jesus calls us to 'hate' our families, revealing instead a call to reject negative influences that may obstruct our spiritual journeys. Amidst challenges posed by well-meaning loved ones, we emphasize the crucial act of carrying one's cross and prioritizing the teachings of Christ above all else.
As hosts, we invite you to rethink the way you perceive grace and commitment in the Christian faith. Grace is not merely a safety net for our sins but a transformative power necessitating growth and self-sacrifice. Drawing parallels between spiritual life and warfare, we discuss the importance of self-assessment and readiness in spiritual battles, likening it to a king preparing for war. The church's current focus on judgment rather than transformation is explored, advocating for internal change to truly advance the kingdom of God. Join us in this episode as we challenge the status quo and encourage a deeper understanding of what it really means to walk the path of true discipleship..

Sitting in the pews every Sunday, I looked the part of a devout Christian, but my weekdays told a different story. It was only after facing this uncomfortable truth that I began to turn sermons into action and truly embody the teachings of Christ. Our latest episode is a heartfelt call to examine the authenticity of our faith—a journey from being mere hearers of the Word to becoming its diligent doers. Reflecting on James 1:22, we discuss the immense gap between passive listening and transformative action, and how stepping out of self-deception can lead to a richer, more grounded spiritual life.

Join us as we explore the transformative journey of faithfulness in God's righteousness, where commitment and growth intertwine in our spiritual lives. In this discussion, I share my thoughts on what it truly means to evolve in our personal and spiritual endeavors. We often hear people say they've been spared for a purpose after a near-death experience, yet do they really change? I take you through this profound question and relate it to the scriptural passage 2 Corinthians 5:21, contemplating the idea of 'becoming' the righteousness of God. It's not just about being labeled as righteous but growing into it, much like acquiring practical knowledge in a new job after being hired.

Have you ever felt a twinge in your spirit when something just didn't sit right during a sermon? Or observed the lavish lifestyles of certain preachers and wondered, "Where's the line between God's blessings and exploitation?" In a journey to the heart of these pressing issues, we wade into the murky waters of religious manipulation and the quest for authenticity in our latest episode. I recount my encounter with a pivotal scripture in Acts 16:16, reflecting on a sermon by Pastor JD that unraveled the critical concept of 'right message, wrong spirit.' With raw honesty, I dissect the story of the slave girl with a spirit of divination, drawing parallels to the digital age, where true intentions often hide behind a veil of virtuous messages.

Join us as Pastor JD King helps unravel the tangled threads of the rapture theory that have captured the imagination of many. Listen in as we reflect on the recent solar eclipse and its failure to usher in apocalyptic events, challenging the flurry of doomsday predictions that swarmed the internet. We trace the rapture's origins back to the 1830s, debunking the myth of its ancient heritage, and I confess my journey from once teaching this doctrine to now questioning its legitimacy. Our conversation navigates through the potential biases hidden within the original rapture theory, while scrutinizing biblical passages like 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, often misinterpreted by enthusiasts. We advocate for an open-minded exploration of eschatology, rooted in scripture, evidence, and historical context.

Ever grimaced at the thought of paying taxes? What if we told you, there's a way to turn that frown upside down? Kathy and I are here to flip the script on this universally dreaded task. Using our personal experiences and a fascinating tale from the Bible involving Jesus and taxes, we argue for a change of heart and a cheerful approach to this civic duty. Remember, it's not the act of paying taxes that God considers, but our attitude towards it. Join us as we show you how this positive mindset can mirror our trust in God and our wish for a prosperous nation.
But our conversation doesn't stop at taxes. We delve deeper into the essence of giving back to God what is His, emphasizing the interplay between two very different realms - the earthly government and God's kingdom. We explore how our contributions to both these realms can open the pathway for divine blessings. Busting the myth that money is evil, we underline how it's the love of money that can lead us astray. Wrapping up, we reflect on the tale of the rich man and Lazarus, highlighting the importance of balancing our earthly obligations with our spiritual ones. It's not just an episode, it's a journey of faith, understanding, and cultivating a fulfilling life.

Do you want personal revival? Then, feed your spirit! Paul refers to the spirit, the soul, and the body (1 Thessalonians 5:23). A born-again Christian has a born-again spirit that is hungry for God and is filled with the Holy Spirit. You are supposed to be operating by the Spirit, which sends communications to your soul—your mind, your will, your emotions—and then to your body. The problem is that people neglect to feed their spirit. You need revival!

Who will save us? Where does help come from? In this episode, Steve continues his teaching on the Good Samaritan. We try to be the superhero (or Good Samaritan) in our own lives, but the world continually tries to attack us. We need revival—help that may come from an unexpected, surprising source.
We have a PROBLEM! A selfish religious system creates helpless people. The result is that the people in churches are just as discouraged and fearful as the people out in the world. In this episode, Steve goes to the parable of the Good Samaritan for Biblical answers to why we need a fresh move of God. Rescue comes with revival.
When is The End of The World? Is it NEAR?! The world is already so full of trouble and tribulation. Movies imagine an “apocalypse,” and preachers talk about the “end times” and the “rapture.” In this episode, Steve goes to 2 Peter to see what the Bible tells us. We don’t have to fear destruction if we live right because we have a good Father.
There is no shortage of tribulation and trouble in the world around us. There are movies, TV, and books filled with speculation about an apocalypse. And if that's not enough, there are preachers filling the airwaves and churches with plenty of preaching about the “end times.”
It's no wonder that it's so easy to get bogged down in the harshness of life and scared about the end. BUT... God is no deadbeat dad. He doesn’t give up on or abandon His Creation. He is our good Father.
If you look at the Bible, starting in 2 Peter 3:10, it addresses the coming of “the Day of the Lord.” God's Word tells us that everything evil—everything that is anti-God, unrighteous, and wicked—will be destroyed.
Although that may sound scary, we are His children and He gives us assurance and hope. In verse 13 it says, “in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.”
In other words, you are born again in Christ. REMADE, not destroyed. You can look forward to the changes that will be made at the end to bring about the new heaven and new earth. All you have to do is “make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace” with God, living “holy and godly lives” (verses 12-13).

Revival often starts with one person. Is that you? In this episode, Steve looks at the example of the prophet Elijah, who knew how to get ready for revival and wait on God. Today, there is a spiritual drought, and we need God to send the rain! Will we do what it takes to get the presence and power of God in our lives and churches?
There is an ego on the outside, and a good that OVERCOMES evil… Unfortunately, those two things do not work together. Evil has invaded our world and surrounds us. Every Christian has the opportunity to overcome it! The question is, will believers do what it takes to stand against the evil? Steve discusses the choice we have, the power of God at our disposal, and the roadblocks that prevent us from being victorious.
Romans 12:21 tells us, “Do not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Evil pervades our world and surrounds us. Evil can overwhelm and overtake us, or we can stand against it.
What is good? What kind of “good” overcomes evil?
We must overcome with inner good—not outer good. Jesus got at the heart of the problem, rebuking the religious leaders of his day, “‘you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean’” (Matthew 23:26).
The motivations are wrong when Christians are out to boost their own egos rather than seek transformation and godliness. That’s what the Pharisees did in Jesus’ day! We get rid of the external and obvious examples of sin, creating outer good, but inside, we hold onto pride, anger, rebellion, deception, selfishness, ambition, etc. In order to overcome, we cannot have the same evil inside of us that we are fighting on the outside.
We’ve got to get the good inside of us. If we have God, we don’t need any of the ego boosting and filth. If we clean the inside, then the good within us can overcome evil! A move of God is suddenly possible and imminent because the people of God are utterly filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered by good from the inside out.

In this episode, Steve looks at how revival really functions and how a carrier of revival pursues their Godly mission. Before the Kingdom of God can expand on earth, the people of God must make room. It’s time to uproot the religion and everything we've tried to substitute in the place of God's presence.
We want revival now, but there aren’t any shortcuts. No shortcuts exist for getting us the presence and power of God. In this episode, Steve talks about how we easily fall into corruption and the traps of instant gratification. Steve goes to the Book of Acts, where the first century believers knew how to live Spirit-filled lives and pursue God together.
SHOW NOTES:
We live in a shortcut society. It has leaked into church. The mentality is: ‘If we just do this… then we’ll just get that.’ But that’s not how the Kingdom of God works!
In Acts 2:40, Peter warns, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”
Today, in our shortcut world, we make some changes to our ministries, our church services, and our buildings. But changing those things does not separate us from corruption.
How do we save ourselves from corruption? In the first century church, the believers “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42). They had devotion without shortcuts—they committed to teaching, fellowship, and prayer every day! Also, “every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts” (v. 46). These believers were born again and filled with the Spirit, but they stayed with the framework of their Jewish upbringing. They didn’t need to go somewhere else to have the signs, wonders, and miracles happen. Going to church matters.
In Acts 3, Peter and John go to the temple gate, and by the power of God, heal a lame beggar. The healed man can now enter the temple. As people are saved, the Kingdom and church family expands. No shortcuts will save us or bring us closer to God. We can shake off the corruption if we would just devote ourselves to teaching, fellowship, and prayer. Then revival will come.

Every believer is gifted with the grace of God, or His unmerited favor. But a GREATER grace comes to us during the move of God—during revival. So what is the greater grace? In this episode, Steve talks about the "increase" and the life-changing, problem-solving power of God that we can experience!
Get rid of the competition! In this episode, Steve goes to the story of the Rich Ruler. Not all of us are rich but we all must follow Jesus and can get rid of our lack. A major reason we don’t have revival today is because of a heart problem. What’s taking up your heart? What is your identity?
Are you going the Narrow Way? In Luke 13, Jesus tells us about “the narrow door” into His Kingdom. We want to enter His presence, experience His power, and know more of who God is. We want to be saved and rescued by God. But so many people try to go the narrow way and are unable. Why? In this episode, Steve explains the reasons why people don’t make it through the Kingdom’s door and how we can!
The Kingdom of God is now ready! Christians have the power of God within their grasp, but we get lost in the chaos of the transitioning world. In this episode, Steve talks about the excuses we make and the invitations to the Kingdom of God that we are turning down. Now is the time to make a different choice.
Are we “more than conquerors?” The Bible says that’s who we are meant to be! In this episode, Steve talks about why believers still struggle to conquer even their own lives. There’s a problem in the church today that’s keeping people from experiencing the presence and power of God! If we overcome it, then we can walk confidently in the purpose and calling of God.
Will you compromise or catch FIRE? That’s the spiritual battle roaring within you! In this episode, Steve shows how John the Baptist and Jesus were true lovers of God who would not compromise. They faced down the Pharisees and exposed the selfish, compromised religion of the day. What about the religion of our day? Are we like Jesus and John…or like the Pharisees?
Are we passing the point of survival? Revival is within our grasp now, but we must do something about it. In this episode, Steve talks about the ministries of John the Baptist and Jesus Christ and what they teach us the Kingdom of God.
Seek Him First. Steve tackles the simple but widespread problem that holds us back from revival and stops the presence of God from sweeping through our churches. What happens when we aren’t in line with God? Are we making God our top priority? Has rebellion set in? What do you seek?
Open the heavens, God, and come down! That’s our heart’s cry when we are tired and hurting, when life is disappointing. But what are we doing about it? Are we putting God and His House first? In this episode, Steve goes to the Bible where God gives Haggai a root cause and a hopeful promise.
How are you choosing to live? Have you set yourself apart from the worldliness--for God's use only? Building upon the previous episode "To Be Holy," Steve talks about the importance of holiness in our relationship with God and in the pursuit of revival.
God commands us to “make every effort to be holy.” What does this mean? What is holiness? How do I do it? Many Christians don’t try to live holy lives—and they miss out. God calls for us to be holy for his awesome purposes. If we set ourselves apart, then we will see the Lord and experience His presence and power.
‘Do you want to get well?’ Jesus asked this question to the man at the pool (in John 5). Jesus is asking us that question today. So many Christians are sick. Physically sick, emotionally sick, AND spiritually sick! The problem is…they don’t want to get better?! In this episode, Steve explains the powerful choice we have to make.
Consecrate yourself to God. Do it today! God has called us to set ourselves apart from the ways of the world and give ourselves wholly to Him. In this episode, Steve talks about why consecration is so vital to our lives as Christians and why we can so easily miss out on everything God has to offer.
We must confront fruitless religion. Something is wrong when our churches are sick and the power of God is absent. What’s the problem? Steve goes to the Bible: in Luke 13, Jesus spoke a message to the Jewish religion that we must hear today. We as believers can and must make changes. Only then will revival come.
We have been created in God’s image! Why? In this episode, Steve explains why it is important that we were made in God’s image and what this means for our lives. We have a purpose on this earth. The people of God have hope and the promise of resurrection life and eternity through Jesus Christ. It’s time to pursue God and start restoring His glory!
Pandemics, nuclear weapons, hunger, wars?! These are the dangers of the times we live in. But God’s glory is also for this present age! Revival will come. Some people resist revival and say that it is not in line with the Biblical “end times.” Steve clears up their misconceptions in this episode and gives us reasons why we should hope for and expect an outpouring of the Spirit of God!
The church has lost its voice! Who will be a voice for God? Our world is filled with chaos, turmoil, divisiveness, and politics. People get outraged about all kinds of things and get loud. So how can we remain silent? In this episode, Steve looks at the John the Baptist and the patterns of holiness and consecration that God’s people have lost. If we would just repent, and turn to the Lord!
Be filled with the Holy Spirit! The power of God is alive and moving in the present day just as it was on Pentecost and in the Bible. In this episode, Steve tackles erroneous beliefs about the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. Will we seek God our own way or the Bible’s way? Do we give God free rein to work and move in our lives?
Are we on the verge of revival yet?! We will be when we break out of Babylon: all the world’s ungodly ways. In this episode, Steve shares one major sign of revival. When revival is near, people act a certain way. If we know what it is, we can start making changes in our hearts, our lives, and our churches. We don’t have to wait for revival if we just do all that it takes to draw near to God!
Who caused this storm? Our ever-changing world is full of chaos and turmoil, and the global pandemic is just the latest sign that something is wrong. In this episode, Steve discusses the ways that God speaks to and corrects His people. Maybe this pandemic is God trying to speak to us, His Church! God’s people must listen!
A true disciple will give up everything to follow Jesus—that is also what’s required of leaders of revival. In this episode, Steve explains what Jesus meant about discipleship and delves into the cost of revival. Revival does not come because people are often unwilling to do what it takes to get it.
Jesus came to rescue THE LOST. Who are ‘the lost’? In this episode, Steve answers that question and exposes a common misconception about the purpose of revival. How can we get revival if we’re confused about why we need it, where we need it, and what revival truly is?
Revival means that we will have Jesus’ torrents of living water flowing out of us! The world is ever changing, and the church has gotten stale with religion. God has called us to be a living sacrifice, holy, and conformed to His image. It’s time to put God first and stop clinging to the world.
The harvest is now! Jesus told his disciples—and is telling us—that now is the time for revival, and there’s no time to waste. In this episode, Steve looks at what the Bible teaches about “now” moments, when God wants to move but is waiting on His people to act. Are we ready, or are we needlessly waiting? Will we do the will of God, or will our own wills cause us to miss the harvest?
It’s time for something new! Jesus has plenty of new wine, but where will we put it? In this episode, Steve examines Matthew 9:17 and the importance of “new wine” and “new wineskins” to Christians and the church today. God desires to bring renewed life and a fresh move of His power, presence, and glory. Will the people of God be ready to receive it?
Our God is a consuming fire! Nothing else and no one else can bring life and revival back to His people. In this episode, Steve shares his own experience of being consumed by God. He discusses the devotion and fervency needed for revival and pursuit of God. NOW is the time for us to pray and pursue God! Are you ready for the His Fire?
Let’s grab hold of the victorious life! We don’t need to rely on the world for its answers or spend our lives desperately trying to get rich and be happy. Life can be difficult, but we have the ultimate answer, the rescue, and all hope in God. Steve discusses three steps to living the victorious life.
Life is difficult sometimes, but we have the ultimate advantage in our lives: God. How do we grab hold of the victorious living God offers us? (See Psalms 37:3-6).
Step 1: Trust in God
Trust is having confidence in God. You must demonstrate that trust. Take your mind off your problem, and do something good to show God you trust Him with your problem. Trust cures worry. Then “pasture” yourself by chewing on God’s Word. Keep calm. Stay steady. Don’t get distracted.
Step 2: Delight in the Lord
Expect happiness, contentment, and joy from God. Redirect your emotions toward God (instead of toward yourself), expecting a return. “…and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Step 3: Commit Your Way to the Lord.
Go for broke. Give everything. No matter what the circumstances! Then God will clear the clouds from your life, and the sun will shine Website

Feed your spirit! That is the way to a personal revival.
Paul refers to the spirit, the soul, and the body (see 1 Thessalonians 5:23). A born-again Christian has a born-again spirit hungry for God and is filled with the Holy Spirit. You are supposed to be operating by the Spirit, which sends communications to your soul—your mind, your will, your emotions—and then to your body. The problem is that people neglect to feed their spirit. You need revival!
What does it mean to “starve” your spirit? You’re not going to church. You neglecting to prioritize the spirit. You stop being able to hear God’s voice. You lose interest in anything to do with God.
How do you know your spirit is starved? Your soul starts to show symptoms. The soul stops responding to the spirit, which leads to the mind (as part of the body) imagining things that are not true. Your thoughts about your relationships, other people, and the world around you become messed up. Then will becomes weak like it was before you received salvation. That’s when your emotions take over. Your feelings begin to lead your life.
“Walk by the Spirit,” Paul tells us (Galatians 5:16). We are not okay if we’re soul-powered instead of Spirit-powered. It’s not too late to be revived and re-cultivate your appetite for the things of God—the things of the Spirit. Open your Bible. Learn His Word. Start praying again and believing. Return to church.
If you start feeding your spirit, then your spirit will take over. Your soul, body, mind, and emotions will fall into line. Soon you will be a Spirit being walking by the Spirit once again.

Why revival? We must restore His honor!
Today we can look around and see the rumblings of revival. There is excitement and renewal happening. But it might not be TRUE revival. True revival is not just longer, louder church services. So what is it?
Let’s go back to Genesis 1. Why did God create man and woman and put them in the Garden? Lucifer was the prideful archangel who led a third of the angels in rebellion against God and fell to the earthly realm. So when God created man and woman and put them on earth, He knowingly put them in the devil’s territory. Why?
Lucifer’s rebellion left a hole in Heaven. God was unwilling to forget it but wanted to fix it. He purposely created man and woman and placed them in the Satan’s territory so that they would eventually be a humanity that would not be tempted or fall for the devil’s schemes. Adam and Eve did fall, but eventually Jesus the perfect man came. Jesus won in the devil’s territory! God’s honor, dignity, and name is restored.
Through Jesus, humans could be born again. We are born again and can stand up for Jesus. We can do the only thing God cannot do for Himself. We restore His honor!
We need a revival! The people of God need to stop cooling off and start burning for Jesus. We need the fire of God so that He is once again honored in His church. We must make God our number one priority! We do not want anything else but Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God.

Democracy in America is under attack! The world is changing at such a rapid pace—not always for the better. In this episode, Steve gets at the root of why our democracy is under fire. The church is sick and in need of revival! Will the people of God turn their hearts and minds back to God alone?
LOSE YOURSELF. That is the way to revival and the best thing we can do for ourselves in these “terrible times” (2 Timothy 3:1). As the Bible says, we are in the “last days” of humanity.
2 Timothy 3:2 says, “People will be lovers of themselves.” What a problem we face today! The Bible does not instruct us to love ourselves. “Love the Lord your God.” Loving God is what’s most important—it’s a commandment and not a feeling.
Jesus is not calling you hate yourself. He wants you to lose yourself! Die to yourself, and you come alive in God. When you lose yourself in God, you transform into a whole new person for God.
When we get wrapped up in loving ourselves, we pay a high price. People make commitments and promises to others and to God and then just go ahead serving themselves. They make it all about their own selfish wants and needs. When we are too busy loving only ourselves, then love for God and love of each other is lost.
Who are these people described in 2 Timothy 3:1-5? Verse 5 says they have a “form of godliness.” These are church people who are so close to knowing God but become steeped in religion (religiosity). They deny the power of God and do not access it for themselves.
Want revival? Allow the power of God access to your life. We can experience total freedom and deliverance if we would only lose ourselves in His love.

When the Godly power of grace is in our lives, we must have the will to say ‘NO’ to ungodliness. In this episode, Steve addresses the misconceptions we may have about grace. What does the Bible say? If we embrace God’s grace and commit to lives advancing God’s Kingdom, revival is just the next step.
Allowing the grace of God to have power in your life means saying "no" to ungodliness. What does this mean? What does the Bible tell us about grace?
Titus 2:11 says, “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.” Grace is for everyone.
So often we misunderstand and misapply grace to our lives. First, we must recognize what grace is NOT. It is not the same the same as forgiveness. It is not a net to catch you when you fall or a license to do whatever you want without asking for forgiveness. It is not a get-out-of-jail free card.
Grace is unearned favor, prosperity, hope, joy, strength, etc. All we have to do is stay in the circle of God’s Kingdom.
Grace teaches us to say "no" to ungodliness and worldly passions (Titus 2:12). That is the power of God working and moving in your life. Revival is living self-controlled, upright, and Godly lives.

It’s time for the children of God to stop waging a losing war! In this podcast, Steve talks about the enemy we face, why we need revival, and its cost. “Revival is costly, but the cost of not having revival is unthinkable.” So what is stopping us from running after revival and winning the war? Listen to find out!
How much longer can the church keep waging a losing war? Evil spirits are being loosed on our world. They are hidden, looking to target and deceive believers. Don’t let yourself be a wandering sheep! Christians get with hurt feelings, become disgruntled with other people and their church, and start drifting away from safety. This can open you up to the power of the devil. Your self-centeredness can make you vulnerable to the devil, the ultimate self-centered being. Get yourself back into the flock and into a safe place.
The way to win this war is for believers to step up and pay the cost of revival. In Luke 14:28-30, Jesus tells us to count the cost of the tower before we start building it. Have we counted the cost for following Him? As disciples, we must run the lifetime race. Our hearts, souls, minds, and strength must be fully given and committed to Jesus. In verses 31 to 33, Jesus then says that religion is like a king wanting to go to war. Only wage a war that you can win! We are waging a war against demons, emotions, conflicts in the hearts and minds of believers, but we are waging a war we will lose without the power of the Word of God.
Broken, hurting people need the power of the one true living God. They need transformation and deliverance! If we soothe them, they remain sick. Self-help and self-improvement only get them through another day. As it is, we cannot withstand the onslaught of the enemy, who will keep attacking generation after generation.
In Luke 14:26, Jesus says, “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple." People in those days were surrounding themselves by those who soothed and told them all was okay and to just keep going. Jesus was not instructing listeners to hate their families—hate the system!
It’s time for the children of God to stop waging a losing war. It’s time for us to be transformed, empowered, and filled with a new Spirit so that we can win the war!

We are in danger of being a clueless generation, just as in the days of Noah. A flood is coming, and we are missing all the signs! In this episode, Steve tells about the "flood" that is waiting to strike our world and what we can do to stop it. LISTEN so you know how to avoid being part of the clueless generation. Be part of the next move of God!
Why NOT revival? Because people just don’t want one. Continuing on from last week’s episode, Steve discusses the reasons that motivate people to steer clear of revival and the power and presence of God. The world has taken hold of our hearts, and we desperately need to be transformed by the Kingdom of God!
Why not revival? Why are believers becoming stuck in life and facing spiritual stagnation? In this episode, Steve answers these questions. Learn what might be holding you back from being revived, so you can advance the Kingdom and run for God! Why not revival? What is hindering revival? We desperately need God’s presence—for God to come and fill our churches and transform our lives with His power, presence, and glory. So why isn’t revival breaking out in churches everywhere?
We must connect to the spirit of truth! Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Truth is a person: Jesus. We’re missing out on truth because we’re not focused on Jesus, what He said/says, and who He really is. Sermons that are like therapy—teaching you how to become a better you—miss the mark by telling us what we want to hear rather than what we need to hear. When we are focused on ourselves, we are not focused on Jesus. We must start listening to the spirit of truth about ourselves, our country, and our churches, along with where we need to go and what we need to be doing.
The Bible teaches about the Kingdom of God, teaching us how to become somebody else. Peter the fisherman became the fisher of men. Saul the persecutor of Christians became Paul the preacher and servant of God. Forget improving who you are and let the Kingdom transform you into a new person!
2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us what we need to know about becoming unhindered and ready for revival. God is calling His people to “humble themselves and pray.” Being truly humble means leaving behind what’s comfortable.
So why is there no revival? Because the people of God are hanging onto their own wicked ways.
Jesus prayed to His Father, “Not my will but yours.” If we’re going to have a revival, we need a Gethsemane experience, where the men and women of God are willing to let go of their own will and grab hold of the will of God.

What do you do if your life is in trouble? Most people do nothing. Steve, with guests J.D. King and Zion Vierra, examine Biblical answers to this problem. Jesus has come, and we must be people of action. If we do nothing, our lives will still be in trouble. If we act, we can move forward with our lives and with God.
Why do I feel bad about myself? Steve, along with guests J.D. King and Zion Vierra, answer this question and unpack the myth of self-esteem. This modern world offers constantly offers solutions to feeling good about yourself, but none of those answers can heal, transform, and empower you like God can.
We need revival preaching that will throw us into a good kind of crisis! What is revival preaching, and why do we need it? In this episode, Steve answers those questions. There's no more time for complacency and comfort, when the Kingdom of God has come with power and to change lives. God is looking for people to preach and support revival. That could be you.
Demolish every stronghold! In this episode, Steve teaches on the two opposing kingdoms. God's kingdom and Satan's kingdom are at war. We are also caught up in the war. We can be free to fully walk with God if we bind up the devil and tear down the strongholds in our lives.
Did you know that the battle is within us? In this episode, Steve sheds light on the source of conflict, relationship problems, and personal discontent. We don’t have to feel hopeless or be angry because there is a cure.
God wants each and every one of us to have encounters with the Spirit. We can and will be transformed if we open up our lives to His Spirit and proclaim the truth! In this episode, Steve reveals the power of proclaiming and its incredible ability to sustain and strengthen your relationships.
We need a foundation for revival. You don’t want to be unprepared for a move of God when He comes to you, your church, or your town. Steve teaches on the importance of knowing God’s absolutes and establishing your own absolutes. Listen to this episode to find out how to ready yourself for revival and how to avoid being caught up in the devil’s details.
Steve teaches on how to defeat the devil. Jesus defeated the devil in the wilderness, and we can, too. Yet many people remain powerless. Memorizing and quoting Bible verses alone is not enough. Listen to this episode to learn how you can activate the power of the Word of God and be victorious!
Steve and guest J.D. King continue their exploration from the last episode, differentiating between God’s discipline and the devil’s demons. God builds and rescues, while the devil destroys. Steve and J.D. explain why pride is so destructive to the church and relationships.
Is it God’s discipline or the devil’s demons? Steve and his guest J.D. King discuss the confusion some people experience when they see the power of God at work. Listen to this episode to learn what is God and what is not. We must not stand in the way of God doing good things, bringing freedom and deliverance, and breathing new life into people.
What is the STRANGE FIRE? In this episode, Steve teaches on Leviticus 10, which helps us understand how we should be approaching God. It all comes down to discerning between “self-willed religion” versus God’s preference. Let’s fan the flames of God’s fire together!
The Jesus Gospel is the truth and the only one we need. Steve, along with guests Frank DiPietro and Frank Seamster, discusses the true Gospel versus the other gospels being preached. This episode tackles some of the current attitudes and mindsets that hinder revival in today’s churches. The Good News lives: Jesus is alive and on the move, and we have hope for revival.
Stop talking about yourself, and start talking about the real Jesus! One major problem that exists today in America is the preaching about “another Jesus.” Steve, along with guests Frank Seamster and Frank DiPietro, talk about preaching, revival history, and why we need revival today in America.
Are children in schools today suffering a mis-education of identity? What exactly are they being taught? What role are schools playing in shaping their thoughts, beliefs, and identity? Steve, along with special guests J.D. King and Zion Vierra, address what is going on with public schools today and how we all must find our identity in Christ alone.
Where are the leaders for the next revival? You could be one of those leaders if you position yourself so that God can pick you. Steve explains the importance of living a life of holiness, disentanglement, and sitting at the feet of Jesus.
What do Christians and aliens have in common? In this episode, Steve, along with special guests Pastor J.D. King and Zion Vierra, talks about UFO sightings that have landed in the news recently. Why do people care about UFOs? How does this relate to revival? Listen to find out!
We must forget the past and pursue a future of freedom in God! In this episode, Steve tackles the problem of religion and how its presence in our lives hinders us unknowingly from being renewed by God and fully alive. The religion of our past threatens to make us stuck so that we are powerless in the present. If we miss what God is doing today, then we will miss the mighty works of God in the future. Let’s press forward together!
YOU ARE NOT HELPLESS! God created us to be vulnerable jars of clay. On our own, we as humans have weakness and temptations, chips and cracks. In God, we have His all-surpassing power. We are made strong and we bring glory to Him. If we would only tap into His all-surpassing power inside of us, then we could stop being helpless.
What is the debt-free life? It’s not about money, credit cards, or financial wealth. In this episode, Steve unlocks the power behind the words, “You don’t owe me anything.” Jesus doesn’t hold a debt over our heads in exchange for salvation and the place He gives us in His Kingdom. We don’t owe God anything outside of our love, devotion, and loyalty. Once we experience transformation in Jesus and the renewing of our minds, other people don’t owe us anything. We can have new freedom when we start embracing the debt-free life!
You can live the indestructible life! What stands in your way is the devil, the strong man. We don’t have to be afraid because God is casting out the strong man; God is the Stronger Man! It’s time to let God be God. God will use His mighty power to attack the powers of darkness and drive the clutter of the devil out of our lives. He has already won. You are indestructible in God!
Are you fully human? You can lose some of your humanity when you don’t follow what Jesus says.
Through Jesus, we are the new humanity: a new race born on the earth but filled with the spirit of heaven. Once we are saved and make God the center of our lives, we want to get rid of every trick of the devil. Watch out for unforgiveness, bitterness, the spirit of offense, hurt feelings, disappointment, being critical, needing to have your own way, etc. When we stop being tricked and falling into those traps, we can be fully human like God intended us to be.
The Kingdom of God is wherever Jesus is able to rule as King: your house, your heart, your church. You must make the Holy Spirit comfortable. How? Create the atmosphere of heaven. Pray to release yourself from ungodly things and feelings. Then the Kingdom of God can come forth, and humanity can be restored to its fullest measure.

...But I'm afraid! How often is that thought the reason why we don't try new things or make certain life choices? Fear not only hinders our lives but also our churches. The spirit of fear opposes revival. We must not cling to what’s familiar at the expense of advancing God’s Kingdom and reviving the people of God.
How do we go from fear to faith? It’s easier than you think! If you’ve ever walked in fear, you can walk by faith. In this episode, Steve shares an invaluable learning moment the disciples had with Jesus and how we can start activating our faith today and every day.
God has called each and every one of us to go from fear to faith! What if we could stop making decisions based on fear and live our lives free of fear? As believers, we are equipped with His Word, and God can do greater things in us and through us than we can even imagine if we embrace Him and His Word and reject fear. It’s only a matter of what we choose to listen to and how we choose to respond.
Don’t start with morality! Jesus asked the disciples to extend their faith and extend their nets. Even when Peter tried to withdraw as an unworthy sinner, Jesus drew the disciples to himself and affirmed their calling to serve the Kingdom as “fishers of men.” In this episode, Steve reveals the threat of Christianity becoming a moralizing religion. Morality makes us as Christians “me-centered” when we need to be Jesus-centered.
What you lack is the fullness of God and His Kingdom in your life. Oftentimes we might feel like something is missing from our lives. We shouldn’t have to feel that way when we know God and make Him the top priority! Steve examines the Biblical account of the rich young ruler and describes how believers set themselves up to miss out on the fullness of God’s life and power.
Have you activated the truth about salvation in your life? The reason “being a Christian” has lost power in today’s world is because many people do not understand or accept the fullness of salvation. Steve explains how true salvation is an exchange of the Jesus’ life for our lives.
How do I get a fresh anointing from God? In the Bible and in the present day, some people refuse to allow Jesus to rule over their lives. If we seek God and position ourselves, God could choose us to receive His anointing and mantle.
Do you know the secrets of the Kingdom? The Kingdom of God has come to us and is active today! Steve talks about how the Kingdom of God works and what its presence means for our lives.
It is essential for the Church to recapture the glory of God. Christians are told that God lives in our hearts, but there is little evidence of Him in our everyday lives. Steve reminds us that making God our priority is what brings the blessing and presence of God into our lives and our churches.
How do we get revival? In this episode, Steve tells us the three ways that revival comes to churches. An outbreak of God’s power can happen in any town, any church, or any nation where the people want God more than anything else. We must be open to how God wants to move if we want to get revival.
The earth is groaning! Just like the times of Noah, the world today is experiencing violence, unrest, extreme weather, and chaos. God is calling us to partner with Him in creating something new. If we are truly willing to have a change of heart, revival can transform our churches and our lives!
The future of America is in our hands! We as Christians have unique access to God and His mighty power to influence and change the future. Everything is spiritual! Focusing on political unrest, the pandemic, and all of the other chaos around us will not revive our nation—preparing for the visitation of God will.
God wants us to be victorious, but first we must be in need of Him! The lukewarmness that exists in churches and the lives of Christians today is stopping God from reviving and empowering us. Steve examines Revelation 3 and shares how we can draw God back into our churches.
What hinders the outbreak of revival today? Steve explains how we need devotion to ignite revival. Also, Steve exposes the false versions of Jesus that exist in our world today. We must have the real Jesus come revive our lives and America!
What is revival? Steve describes the power and presence of God that transcends humanity, revealing common misconceptions about “revival.” Learn what empowered Steve to be a leader of two revivals and what you can do to bring revival to your life and your church!
