Dr. Fred speaks with Casey Hardison, who proactively describes himself as "a carbon-based bipedal life form committed to the possibility of passion, love, light and unity for all people."

Casey is a chemist known for his work and advocacy for the advancement of entheogens (psychedelics). Growing up the son of an alcoholic father, Casey began using alcohol and other drugs at a young age, and after seeking support, became sober for eight years. He then discovered LSD, which led to a profound and revolutionary shift to his view of sobriety, drugs, and life itself.

Casey shares the dramatic story of his first experience with LSD and his declaration to enroll in college and study these often misunderstood and underappreciated substances.

Dr. Fred’s mind-expanding conversation with Casey touches the following areas:

  • How LSD led Casey to the spiritual awakening promised by the 12 Steps
  • Discovering the urgency of stewarding and caring for mother earth and all her relations
  • How Casey ended his self-identification with the "once an addict, always an addict" mindset
  • "Toxic shame" as the real "demon" in Casey's life
  • Are psychedelics produced in a lab profoundly different from "plant medicine"?
  • The distinctions of the Landmark Forum
  • The role of mindset and setting when approaching entheogens
  • Why Casey says the English language contains "semantic spooks" from the past
  • Shifting the context from psychology to ontology and epistemology
  • Taking radical responsibility for the things we think and say to ourselves and each other
  • Casey's arrest in the UK for making LSD, 2C-B, and DMT, and how he became a Constitutional scholar
  • The legal defense that made Casey a "folk hero around the world"
  • Why Casey will be running for President of the United States in 2024 (really!)

In a day and age where technology rules the selling world, authenticity and trust have taken a “back seat” in the sales process. Today's guest puts trust back into selling in such an elegant and natural way, that the truth quickly emerges between seller and buyer, so the painful and arduous “chasing” process no longer has to happen to make a sale. Ari Galper is the World’s #1 Authority on Trust-Based Selling and is one the most experienced sales growth advisors in the world. He is the creator of Unlock The Game®, a completely new revolutionary sales approach that overturns the notion of selling as we know it today.

With clients in over 35 countries, Ari's global sales systems have become the most successful Trust-Based Selling systems of our time. Ari has been featured in CEO Magazine, SkyNews, Forbes, INC Magazine and the Australian Financial Review.

In today's episode, Ari shares his revolutionary sales process with Dr. Fred, as they discuss:

  • Bringing authenticity to the dysfunctional world of selling.
  • How Ari's son inspired his approach to sales
  • Framing sales like a 'doctor - patient relationship'
  • Why prospects must take ownership of their problem before you can sell to them
  • The critical importance of the right mindset and trust-based languaging
  • Breaking trust by attempting to move a sale forward before the person is ready
  • Why people aren't comfortable revealing their truth
  • Losing the sale at "hello"
  • Building Trust at the beginning so you aren't chasing them at the end
  • The problem it's NOT your market, product, or prospects...it's YOU!
  • How Ari's clients achieve 100% conversion of all qualified clients
  • Shifting your prospect's thinking by changing your own approach
  • Going beneath the "iceberg" with prospects
  • How traditional sales can be dehumanizing

KEY SALES QUESTIONS

"Can you tell me a little more about that?"

"Is this a priority for you to solve once and for all? Or is it something you have to live with for a while and let it go, and you're okay either way?"

"Where do you think we should go from here?" (use at the end of a sales call)

"If it would be okay with you, I'd be happy to walk you through what my framework is, the roadmap for how I help clients that have the exact problem that you have. Would you be open to that?"

Today's guest, Alex Iglecia, describes himself as someone who "guides beautiful beings who are here to create something good, speak truth, lead, teach and transform as they walk their own path and trust their epic life no matter what anyone else is doing."

Having been a high achiever, Alex experienced intense breakdowns in nearly every aspect of life that helped get him aligned and authentic: body, marriage, finances, soul & spirit. Well before midlife crisis! A former NASA engineer and Ninja-Yogi turned Body-Mind Alchemist, Alex has a Masters in Conscious Evolution and lives deeply for the adventure of being. He discovered that it doesn't always matter what you do or what you know until you are willing to allow yourself the joy and love you are here to share. This is about embracing the mystery, value and authenticity of your unique embodiment.

In his work and service, Alex developed Being EPIC as an approach and framework for healing and coaching that accelerates connection to what matters the most. When this shift and synthesis truly begins, people become uniquely free to see their contribution and do the inner and outer work to build a satisfying life of joy, wholeness, and divine play.

On today’s fascinating episode, Alex and Dr. Fred explore:

  • What it means to be "a finite supply to an infinite demand"
  • The challenge of “being you”
  • The "network effect" that drives bitcoin's value
  • Meaning behind the suggestion that "what you appreciate appreciates"
  • What is alchemy?
  • The goodness and gift of "being a mistake"
  • Identifying the fundamental "plot" of one's hero's journeys
  • Why Alex says, “Your message is medicine, but it's for you first.”
  • The implication that every animal has enough brain to tan its own hide
  • The masculine vs. feminine hero's journey
  • What would life look like if we weren't terrified of death?

Sam Morris is the founder of Zen Warrior Training®, an enlightened leadership and embodied wisdom coaching program. A lifelong student of human awakening, Sam endured a spinal cord injury in 1999, paralyzing him from the waist down and catalyzing a deep dive into somatic healing arts, depth psychology, wisdom traditions and the innate intelligence of the body. Sam trains his clients in how to develop mastery over the inner workings of the egoic mind and live from an enlightened state of presence in their businesses and personal lives.

In today’s deep conversation and inquiry, Sam Morris and Dr. Fred explore:

  • The “precision of the unknown” and synchronicity
  • How the "Who am I?" question creates a false identify
  • The willingness to be dynamic in one's experience of life
  • How escaping "the level of logic" helped Sam to move forward after his accident
  • The logical mind vs. the transcendent mind
  • Sam's progression from "Why me?" --> "Why not me?" → "Of course it's me!"
  • How unconscious influences create conformity
  • Why Sam insists on speaking openly about the loss of his sexual function
  • The mistake of attaching our value to arbitrary measures
  • How psychedelics played a role in both Sam and Dr. Fred's journeys
  • The trap of thinking there's something "better" to get to

He now works as an ontological coach, and is a student of last week’s guest, Dylan Newcomb. Graham is in Dylan’s Uzazu certification program. Graham combines the somatic dimension available through Uzazu with the “heady language-based work” of philosophy that informs his coaching.

Dr. Fred and Graham discover striking and uncanny personal similarities in their conversation today. Listen in as they share insights on the following topics:

  • Why Graham became disillusioned with finance and left a successful career
  • The role of the Mankind Project in Graham’s transformation
  • Why Graham chose to dive deeper into the Uzazu methodology
  • How Dr. Fred and Graham’s pets help them be more human
  • Why we often “over promise”
  • The idea that without integrity, nothing works
  • The value of “being authentic about your authenticities”
  • The dynamics of keeping our commitments to self and others
  • Strategies for keeping commitments
  • How it can be helpful to examine where our commitments arise from

  • The disinhibiting effects of alcohol
  • Why Chris hired drag queens to attend his Key West wedding reception
  • How Chris’ bartending experience informs his writing
  • Why Chris says people are already rich (they just may not know it yet)
  • The 12 Jewels of True Wealth (an overview of the chapters in Chris’ new book, True Wealth)

Toward the end of today’s episode, our guest Andrea Fono describes herself as someone who offers “beauty and distraction from the normalcy of life,” along with “a little silliness and delirium.” That’s perhaps a good of a way as any to introduce her, as she's an internationally recognized full-time artist who works with various mediums.

Today’s discussion between Andrea and Dr. Fred probes a number of different topics related to our humanity and connectedness, while also of course touching on the role of artistic expression. Listen in as Andrea and Dr. Fred discuss:

  • Love as the only thing that truly matters
  • How some early business “mistakes” led to Andrea “disqualifying” herself from life...and how she got back in the game
  • Using disappointments, suffering, and failure as “fodder of fertilization”
  • Why light and darkness are not mutually exclusive experiences
  • How a “promise” of a brighter future can drive us forward through challenging circumstances
  • What can occur when we go beyond “supposed to”
  • Life (and art) as “invitation”
  • How Andrea uses nature’s gifts as inspiration for artistic projects

Be sure to keep listening after the interview, as today’s episode offers an addendum from Andrea with some additional thoughts of beauty and encouragement.

While many of us have faced challenges since the onset of COVID-19, today’s guest has experienced an onslaught of losses in the past several weeks, beginning with contracting Coronavirus, then unknowingly passing it to his father, who ended up dying from it. Add to that the end of a five year relationship, and the death of a beloved pet, and you’ll get to see a picture of how the last couple of months have gone for John Marshall Roberts.

While John is known for his research, teaching, writing, and speaking, today’s episode focuses on the deeply personal, including dealing with overwhelming emotion, core wounds, feelings of abandonment, and insights John has come to as a result of the “condensed curriculum” offered by the past few months of his life.

In today’s deep and vulnerable conversation with John Marshall Roberts, you’ll hear about:

  • Learning to embrace and accept the emotions that arise from painful experiences
  • John’s approach to dealing with his core wound
  • Why the real problems in the world stem from unconscious trauma
  • Having internal security in the face of changing circumstances in the external world
  • Seeing the love behind the darkness in yourself and others
  • Core principles John strives to follow (Truth, Honor, Love, Integrity)
  • The work of Clare W. Graves, including Spiral Dynamics
  • Anger as a fundamental component of being human
  • John’s near death experience in 2014
  • Why John, despite being essentially non-religious, looks to Jesus Christ as the ultimate role model

Today’s fascinating guest is the daughter of the President and Founder of the Sheraton hotel chain, and wife of the late Frank Perdue, second generation of the famed poultry company that today operates in more than 50 countries. An entrepreneur herself, Mitzi founded CERES Farms in 1974, a vineyard selling grapes to some of today’s most well-known wine brands.

In 2019, Mitizi attended a lecture about human trafficking that deeply troubled her. With a desire to be part of the solution to this atrocity, she went on that same year to found an organization called Win This Fight.

A woman still committed to making a huge difference at 79 years of age, today’s conversation barely scratches the surface of everything Mitz has done and continues to do.

In today’s inspiring conversation, you’ll hear Dr. Fred and Mitzi Perdue speak about:

  • An epiphany concerning the purpose of life Mitizi had one day while experiencing “runner’s high”
  • The crucial statement Mitzi’s father made about money that was seared into her brain and heart
  • How Mitzi uses her resources and talents to increase happiness and decrease misery
  • A profound quote from Mother Teresa...and the beautiful story behind it

  • How Mitzi’s charity ensures that funds donated will only go to credible anti-human trafficking organizations
  • A shocking revelation about a well-funded “charity” that’s actually wants to stop traffickers from getting prosecuted
  • The movie-like story of how Mitzi was gifted a 69-karat ruby as a donation
  • The three ways organizations attempt to fight human trafficking—and an exciting global project that’s attempting to discover the most powerful methods
  • What Plato, Martin Luther King Jr…. and Mitzi’s mom have to say about success

Today’s show is the second part of a two-part interview with Bill Schuffenhauer.

As we concluded last week’s interview with Bill Schuffenhauer, we ended on a high note. An Olympic athlete with a silver medal, Bill was on top of the world. With all his accomplishments, the biggest challenges of his life still laid ahead of him.

In today’s episode, we learn about the eight chaotic years following his Olympic career, fueled by depression, substance abuse, and toxic relationships. Bill only recently started speaking publicly about this part of his story, as he believes it’s a story that needs to be shared.

As Bill hurtled closer and closer to rock bottom, his life fell apart in every imaginable way. He found himself facing two options: continue on his path to destruction. Or take 100% accountability, and transform himself and his life.

Thankfully, he chose the latter, and he lives to share how he made it to the other side.

As Bill shares his emotional journey and struggle with Dr. Fred, you’ll hear about:

  • The effects of losing his identity as an Olympic athlete
  • The role a dangerous cocktail of substances played in deepening Bill’s depression
  • Going from one of the highest mindsets in the world as an athlete, to one of the lowest
  • Bill’s near-fatal suicide attempt
  • How he abandoned his “victim mindset” and went from a life by default to living a life by design
  • Why Bill believes his life as Olympian pales in comparison to the life he leads today
  • Alignment in what we think, say, and do as a source of power
  • The critical role of mentors and coaches in Bill’s post-Olympic career

Dr. Fred first met Dennis Sandow through an online course he took from Humberto Maturana’s organization, Matríztica.

Dennis Sandow was completely unprepared for what he encountered when as a college student in the 1970s he visited a state institution for people with developmental disabilities. Shaken and shocked by the experience, Dennis made an oath to dedicate his life’s work to closing such institutions. He then worked as a scientist-practitioner in the liberation movement of people with developmental disabilities, providing evidence that they could live outside institutions and within communities. This led to a cascade of inspiring experiences in defense of humanity. Much of the episode also centers around the work of Dennis’ friend and colleague, the Chilean biologist-turned-philosopher, Humberto Maturana.

Here is some of what you’ll learn from Dr. Fred’s fascinating conversation with Dennis Sandow:

  • The insidious connection between asylums and the eugenics movement
  • Dennis’ startling discovery as he set out to collect an evidence base for the productivity of a "non-productive" population
  • The limitations of “logic theory,” and how analysis “kills” the world around us
  • How Humberto Maturana’s work leads to “lifting the psychic curtain”
  • How Dr. Fred uses his "capacity to reset"

The trajectory of Sara Safari’s life changed the day a seminar leader challenged her to take on a project so huge that it would be beyond her reach—something seemingly impossible. Sara chose to take on the quintessential impossible goal of climbing Mt. Everest. Standing at 5’4”, Sara didn’t own a pair of hiking boots, and had never even been camping. After failure upon failure in training, Sara eventually gave up and quit pursuing her impossible goal.

A chance encounter with a Professor reversed that; Sara declared “game on” with a whole new level of commitment and purpose.

Sara shares her truly inspiring and breathtaking journey—from impossibility, to realizing achievements and impacts that would be truly unbelievable...except they actually happened.

On this inaugural episode of Welcome To Humanity, you will learn:

  • The power of being “used by” something bigger than yourself
  • What Sara faced as she hung from an ice wall at the Khumbu Ice Falls on Mt. Everest
  • Why Sara views “failure” as a positive experience
  • How to make challenging work feel effortless
  • The difference between pushing to achieve a goal, and being pulled by it.
  • How anyone can meaningfully contribute to the UN’s’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
