Welcome back to the Mission, Message and Mindset podcast for a new year and I'm chatting today about reconnecting with your business as we kick off 2023.

We can't always be 'on' and 'in love' with our businesses so I thought it was a good time to look at ways to reconnect with our businesses if we're feeling a bit 'meh' kicking off into the new year.

During today's podcast, I'm discussing * What you need to believe about your business in 2023 * How to realign with your business in a way that works for you; and * The one thing you need to figure out before starting a new business year

It's not easy to ramp up again after the holidays, so let's see January as a chance to let ideas percolate and evolve, and get curious about what the next 12 months will bring.

🌟 At this time of year, it can be hard to concentrate on the work stuff - the sun is shining and we are getting constantly distracted by daydreams of summer holidays (I hear you!).

🚀 I've gathered some of my go-to productivity hacks that I use when I'm feeling distracted and not in the mood to work, and have shared them with you in this episode.

They help me stay focused on the bigger picture and keep me on the straight and narrow when all I want to do is sit in the hammock outside and snooze in the sunshine (which is an option too - rest is part of the working day!).

As always there's action steps to help you get the little grey cells going, and even a bonus tip or two! (can't say fairer than that!)

This podcast was the result of my latest freebie on Productivity Hacks, so if you'd like a copy of the PDF, pop in to my Inbox at hello@lynseyhanratty.com and I'll send it your way!

In episode 40, I'm giving my top ten tips about simplifying your business processes to amplify and laser focus on the areas that you’re needed the most in your business. You can’t be everywhere all the time, no matter how you try.

In this world full of noise and distraction, it can be quite easy to get lost in the complexities of business. I call this the ‘shiny object syndrome’ – feeling that we have to have all the spangly bells and whistles going on in our businesses, making things more complicated and busier than they need to be.

Unfortunately, this can lead to overwhelm and exhaustion for us female entrepreneurs, trying to do all the things all the time, running our businesses and doing all the admin, marketing, sales and branding – but with that workload we are only half heartedly completing them and constantly multitasking, which eventually leads to burn out.

My top ten tips will help you get clarity and focus on what to simplify in your business before you get sucked into the 'shiny object syndrome' and complicate your processes.

I also mentioned a book during the podcast to help with website tweaks called 'Making Your Website Work' by Gill Andrews - you can find it on her website: https://gillandrews.com/book-making-your-website-work/ - it's a great resource for all things website copy and design, I'd highly recommend it!

In todays podcast I'm taking a look at the 6-figure culture in our online world (particularly in the coaching world) and how it both inspires and pressures business owners to reach for it.

As a business coach, it irritates me no end to see how the 6-figure hustle culture gives the impression that a 6-figure business is 'easy to attain with a simple 10 step coaching programme' blah blah blah.

I take a look at the realities of reaching the heights of a 6-figure business hailed by those experts and gurus as the holy grail of business and look at some questions to ask yourself and other important factors to consider when you are aiming high on the monetary ladder.

It is amazing to see more women in business reaching their financial goals and making the impact they want, but the pressures to achieve can sometimes outweigh the bottom line.

I ask a few questions to help you identify what the 'secret sauce' is in your business - these will steer you in the right direction and keep you from being distracted by the shiny things!

In the latest podcast, I'm talking all about those things you may place value on in your business that don't really help you get the result you want (but you do them anyway!).

We can spend a lot of time on areas in our business we feel comfortable in, but that don't always make our business easier. You want to create a life and business specifically designed by you, not by default.

This podcast has lots of tips and advice on the ways to focus on the things that you value in your life and business (not the fluffy stuff that won't help!).

Your action step for this week is to look at the things you truly value in your business and find new ways to bring them front and centre to create a business you'll love even more!

In the latest episode, I'm picking the brains of management accountant Carmel Seery on ways that female entrepreneurs can focus on the numbers and make profit in their businesses.

Carmel spent over 20 years as a management accountant in many different industries, and saw first hand how easy it was for entrepreneurs to get caught up with their passions and ideas and not know if they were making any money.

Through mentoring and consulting Carmel helps make sense of your figures, make the time you work count and maximise your profit so your business can thrive.

We discussed some interesting topics on numbers and profit: - how to use your head and heart in business - the blocks some female entrepreneurs have around money and creating money in their business - what it means to 'read the money story' in your business - the most important numbers women in business need to keep their eye on as they build and scale - Carmel's tips to women in business who haven't addressed the numbers in their business in a while And finally, I ask Carmel for.... (a) the best piece of advice she's been given (b) the worst piece of advice she's been given (c) a book recommendation (either a personal or professional favourite!) You can find Carmel and all her financial expertise at www.carmelseery.com Carmel is hosting her webinar 'A Pathway to Profit' on April 13th at 7pm GMT +1 Here is the link to register: https://www.subscribepage.com/apathwaytoproft

This podcast episode is all about helping you manage those mindset blocks, triggers and sabotaging behaviours and habits to create a mindset overhaul.

This work is ongoing, especially when starting or building a business - that kind of endeavour is often seen as taking a risk. Your inner critic will throw up all sorts of triggering thoughts and mindset blocks to keep you playing small and prevent progress too far outside your comfort zone.

This episode will look at ways to manage those unique behaviours and habits that can blindside you on a daily basis to prevent you making the impact you want.

I mentioned a few things in this podcast as reference to help you overcome and manage these behaviours including:

  1. Make it Stick Habit School by Sarah von Bargen: a great course to help manage sabotaging habits in life and business (https://school.yesandyes.org/p/habitsdiy)

  2. Tapping/EFT: Brad Yates (https://tapwithbrad.mykajabi.com/) and Marie Houlden (https://mariehoulden.com/) - both are experts in Tapping and Emotional Freedom Technique (a tool that's useful to manage negative self talk).

Following on from last weeks episode about how you show up in business, this week's podcast looks at how to get out of your own way in life and business, including; - Stopping your overthinking tendencies - I'm the chief suspect on this one! - Addressing your blocks, triggers and self sabotaging behaviours - identifying and doing the inner work on blocks like Imposter Syndrome, procrastination, perfectionism, a fear of not being good enough, people pleasing and being triggered by other peoples successes

  • Bigging up your Boundaries - finding ways to protect your precious time, energy and creativity

  • Aligning with your values - You'll feel inspired and energised to leave the excuses and self-limiting beliefs behind as you align with your values and vision for your business

  • Playing bigger and selling your products and services through your stories - connecting on a deeper level with your clients

  • Not listening to the Sh*tty Committee - Putting the SC at arms length so you don't hear those passive aggressive sentences that will make you throw in the towel!

There are many ways we show up in life, and todays podcast episode looks at a variety of ways we can show up for ourselves and for our businesses, including the following; With Compassion - for ourselves and for others -seeing things from other people's perspective

For yourself - keeping the home fires burning (and staying sane!) using the 4 pillars of sleep, hydration, nutrition and exercise

Without judgement - no judgement of yourself or others as you build your business

To make an impact - impacting your own life, your family's life and the lives of your clients too

As Future You - making choices and decisions in business today with Future You in mind

Without comparison - running your own race and showing up for your own journey without comparing yourself to others

As yourself - one of the hardest things to do in business is to be yourself, unapologetically YOU, with all the quirks and flaws - telling it like it is!

It can be a tough gig as an entrepreneur showing up every day, especially on the days you'd rather be under the duvet. But for me, nothing compares to being your own boss and paddling your own canoe. #showingup

In this podcast episode, I wanted to discuss how we measure our worth in work and business with our worth as a human, explore the curse of 'affordability' (and what that really means to us), and discuss some insightful questions you can ask yourself to help you separate your work from your worth. Making money as a woman is often a multi faceted, multi layered issue. This constant fight for recognition in the workplace and the ‘glass ceiling’ issue has affected our entire psyche as women and has left us questioning our attitudes to being worthy and valuable in our working lives over many generations.

The podcast explores ways to overcome these feelings and allow ourselves to just 'be' without putting a monetary amount on every aspect of our lives.

It's been particularly difficult these last few weeks with so much to do and so little time to do it. Recognising what boundaries need to be in place for our mental and physical health is crucial if we want to survive lockdown 3.0 and beyond! This episode is all about how to create boundaries allowing you to focus on what truly matters in your lifestyle and in your personal and professional life. If you're running on empty, you're no use to anyone!

Make the most of your time right now to build the life and business you're dreaming of, you may need to make some hard choices and tough decisions to let certain things (or people!) go, but it'll be worth it in the long run!

In the final podcast of 2020, I reflect on the year that was and what I learned from this most scary, sad and unprecedented time. From the Australian bushfires to the spread of coronavirus worldwide, from the deaths of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd to the Black Lives Matter protests, from the cancellation of most major sporting events to the creation of a COVID-19 vaccine (and a US election we'll never forget!) - 2020 has been a year of crazy headlines and (mostly) bad news. But it was also a year of adaptation, of resilience, of creativity. A year of people buying local, supporting each other through tough times, of singing on balconies to keep spirits high.

Check out the podcast for my takeaways from the year (for what it's worth!) and I look forward to seeing you again in January for more podcasts!

Thank you for all your support this year by downloading the podcast, it means the world to me!

In Episode 4 of the Coronacoaster Series, life design coach Selina Barker discusses the power of reflection in this crazy year 2020, and how to appreciate how far we've come.

Selina is an AMAZING career and life design coach, writer, podcast host that I've been following and admiring for YEARS!

She also started her Monday Crew weekly mini-podcast series this October to inspire, motivate and help people get clarity on the week ahead, and I have been loving her wisdom on these little bursts of inspiration over the airwaves.

For the past 12 years, Selina has been helping people design lives they love and help them create careers they thrive in.

Selina lives in London, and has just finished writing her book on Burnt Out which will be released in early 2021 which I’m really excited to read, and I'll definitely get her back on the podcast when Burnt Out arrives on our shelves!

On the podcast, Selina discusses and provides wisdom on;

  • how to look after ourselves better as we emerge from our second lockdown (Ireland and UK), and what she had been recommending her clients do to replenish themselves in this time of uncertainty and flux

  • the importance and power of reflection as the starting point of designing your life

  • how to reduce the chatter of the 'Shitty Committee' in 2020

  • how to get started on the process of the deeper inner work we need to do in life and business right now

  • how can we bring more fun into our lives at the moment

  • the best and worst pieces of advice Selina's ever been given?

  • her book recommendation of the moment (it's a really lovely one!).

I LOVED doing this podcast with Selina, she is very wise and full of common sense and fun (I laughed a LOT!)! Values are one of those things we need to be sure of to move our businesses (and lives) forward - they are the foundation of most businesses. We hear companies talk about their values all the time. But how do you identify what you values are? You look inward and ask the questions - What do I believe in? What gets me out of bed in the morning? How and why am I helping others? What do I want to be remembered for -and why is that important? My latest podcast explores part 3 of the big things that moved my business forward - this episode was the hardest one of the series to verbalise - we all know in theory what 'values' means, but how do we put it into practice everyday to ensure we are living up to those beliefs and standards that we hold dear? This episode will explore the 3 types of values we adhere to at different times in our lives, and the questions we must ask to keep them in check for our clients and for ourselves.
