Born in 1997 outside of Dayton Ohio, Hannah Brown composes primarily free verse poetry and prose about mental health and navigating uncertainty. Hannah fell in love with writing in sixth grade after taking a creative writing class and writing short fantasy stories, always with her nose buried in a book. Hannah still lives in Central Ohio, working at a small medical practice and writing in her free time. Born, raised, and currently living in Bloomfield, CT, Michelle McEwen writes poems and short stories. Her work has been published in The Caribbean Writer, Naugatuck River Review, MiPOesias, and in the anthology The Best New Poets 2007– among others. Two of her poems “Sucker” and “Daydream Me” were nominated for the Pushcart Prize in 2010 and 2017 respectively. She has also won a short story prize (echapbook.com) for a collection of short stories. When she isn’t busy writing, she’s busy raising her two sons Zion and Justice or busy reading her work as a featured poet at events in her hometown of Bloomfield and in surrounding towns.

William Stobb will be hosting a poetry reading and talk with one of the artist showing during the show ICONIC. The podcast will also include a talk with the director of the museum, David Hummer.

Describing William Stobb’s 2019 poetry collection, You Are Still Alive, award-winning poet Amy Gerstler writes, “It's as though the reader had been dropped into the mind of a loving, funny, humble, infinitely generous, nimble-minded Buddhist monk brought up on classic science fiction…. This collection is truly soulful, funny, and spiritual.” Stobb is the author of five other poetry collections, including the National Poetry Series selection, Nervous Systems, and Absentia, both in the Penguin Poets Series. He works on the Creative Writing faculty of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, the editorial staff of Conduit, and as podcast director for PoetsArtists magazine.

Travis Brown is a poet and Registered Nurse living in Wausau, Wisconsin. He studied literature and writing at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (BA, 2003) and at New Mexico State University (MFA, 2006). Before becoming a nurse, he taught writing at the University of Wisconsin--Marathon County, Portland State University, and within the Illinois Department of Corrections. Over the years, his writing has appeared in a wide range of journals, including Fence, Conduit, The Denver Quarterly, and The Cincinnati Review. His first collection of poems, In the Village that Is Not Burning Down was published byAtmosphere Press in 2021.
Kimberly Blaeser, past Wisconsin Poet Laureate and founding director of Indigenous Nations Poets, is the author of five poetry collections including Copper Yearning, Apprenticed to Justice, and the bi-lingual Résister en dansant/Ikwe-niimi: Dancing Resistance. Blaeser edited Traces in Blood, Bone, and Stone: Contemporary Ojibwe Poetry and authored the monograph Gerald Vizenor: Writing in the Oral Tradition. An Anishinaabe activist and environmentalist from White Earth Reservation, she is a Professor at UW–Milwaukee and MFA faculty for the Institute of American Indian Arts. Her photographs, picto-poems, and ekphrastic pieces have appeared in exhibits such as “Ancient Light” and “Visualizing Sovereignty.”

Tony Armendariz (b. 1964, Chicago, IL) is an award-winning contemporary realist artist living and painting in Palatine, Illinois. His work has been published in American Art Collector, Watercolor Artist Magazine, and PoetsArtists. He has exhibited work at The Butler Institute of American Art (Youngstown, OH), RJD Gallery (Bridgehampton, NY) and The Salmagundi Club (NY, NY). Tony’s awards include the First Place Award, 2019 40th Annual International Juried Exhibition of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and Best in Show, 2018 42nd Annual International Exhibition of the North East Watercolor Society. For ten years, Tony served as the Director of the Illinois Watercolor Society. He is represented by the Hilliard Gallery in Kansas City, Missouri.
Suzanne Frischkorn is the author of Lit Windowpane, Girl on a Bridge, and five chapbooks. Her honors include the Aldrich Poetry Award for her chapbook Spring Tide, selected by Mary Oliver, an Emerging Writers Fellowship from the Writer’s Center for her book Lit Windowpane, and an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism. She is an Editor for $ - Poetry is Currency and serves on the Terrain.org Editorial Board.
