This is a lighthearted show normally about Doctor Who, but often spins off, uncontrolled, into all sort of other realms.
Join Siobhan Gallichan along with Steve/Bob/Viki/Kevin/Sinister* as they fumble around the worlds of BBC Television's best show.

Steve and Ian take a look at the 6th Doctor's Last Adventure. They also peek at the award nominated Omega Factor!
Siobhan gets to chat, in a roundtable way, with Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. What could possibly go wrong? Well.. there IS a naughty word - you have been warned.
This is just part of a longer interview that will be released in video form.
Siobhan takes a look at the new Doctor Who partwork from Hachette Press, some BBC books, both good and bad, and The Underwater Menace DVD!
Join The Artist Formally Known As Sinister, Siobhan and Little Alan Stevens, guest for this ep, as they discuss Davros. This one is meaty, you have been warned! Also, a brief chat with Nick Pegg and Barney Edwards...
Oooh, the big un is nearly here! Until then, two bearded oddities talk Davison, Big Finish, and some novel things. or something or other.
Siobhan Alone...
Yup, it's a Siobhan review show, featuring some BBC Audio, Quatermass (Oh, YUM!) and a new feature where she looks at gaming peripherals - in this case Steel Series' Siberia Elite head set....
Steve and Ian are very nice to Siobhan. They also do talking about The Game, Last of the Cybermen and The Defectors
A rather ill Siobhan welcomes back The Meglomaniac Formally Known As Sinister. They discuss the wonderfull Symphonic Spectacular, the City of Death book signing and MIWK Publishing's It's Even Bigger On The Inside.
Siobhan is back and this time she's talking to none other then Doctor Who's resident composer, Murray Gold.
Also she reviews James Goss' novelisation of City of Death.
Music by Alistair Lock and Hardwire.
It's the mysterious missing episode! What could be contained within? As A Scientist I can say with absolute authority that, well, we just don't know!
Um... Beardy Men talk about Blake's 7, The Prisoner, Doctor Who and, well, um.... In The Night Garden.
I'm confused.
Siobhan returns to babble about BBC Audio as well as some Big Finish. With thanks to The Idiot's Lantern for the end theme...
Big Finishy stuff! Lots of Big Finishy stuff! Last Christmas! And... I dunno... things!
Listen carefully as Ian's carefully constructed Christmas Conceit crumbles around his ears....
It's a Christmas show. be afraid....
Strange bearded men talk in front of microphones about speaking socks! They also mutter whilst holding a Deep Breath.
Or something.
Oh corks.
Stuff.... Time Heist, Philip Hinchcliffe and the McCoy trilogy.
Nice, really.... No tea though. Or cake.
Two not-very-grown men talk Capaldi, Robots, Night of the Triffids and a lot of Tom Baker. No John Levenes were hurt during the making of this episode. Danny John-Jules, on the other hand...
Yes, it's the return of Adric! Plus what do the two people who aren't me think of the dour Scot?
Interviews from London Film and Comic Con. Stan THE MAN Lee, Peter Miles, Tom Chadbon, David Collings, The Moff, The Hurt and the McGann...
Steve and that Ian person give a general overview of the State Of Things. Lots of Big Finish talk.
Steve goes it alone and reviews some biographies. Pay attention! There will be a test after.

Anyway, Time of the Doctor...
WARNING: ADULTS ONLY!
Join Staggering Stories and The Flashing Blade as they present the second part of Tim Munro's Secret Log Of Jean Luc Picard.
And incidently, a happy fan cliche to all of you at home...
Ian and Steve look at The Light At The End and An Adventure In Space And Time.
And yes, Steve IS John Hurt...
Happy 50th!!!
Sin and Sio look at stuff! Like Day of the Doctor. In depth analysis follows. On a different podcast, let's be honest here...
In the end - Some of Siobhan's old radio stuff and the World (of warcraft) in Action!
Neil and Sue Perryman make one of their very rare public appearences as they join Siobhan to talk about 'Adventures With The Wife In Space'. Did you know it was a book? Yes, I know.... kept that quiet, didn't they?
(Love you really guys!)
The book gets a review as does Andrew Cartmel's 'Script Doctor' which has just been reissued from MIWK Publishing.
And in the end: For Remembrance Sunday - for all those who gave all - everywhere.
It's the turn of Mr. Doctor David Tennant Sir. There may be Fear Her. Or not. Let's be honest here, no way on Bod's grey Earth will Siobhan allow that show on HER show.
Oh, there's a lot of reviews, from DVDs to books, to audios...
Davies is on this one. Sorry about that.
And in the end, French.
He returns! From Bod knows where, to be honest. Somewhere north, I expect.
Anyway, young Adric and Steve chat about two companion thingies, Mastermind and The Alchemists, in a futile game of catch up with Big Finish
And in the end: Wailing!
It is, apparently, 'grim oop North'.
And lost of planets have, also apparently, a North.
Sinister and Siobhan take a look at the Ecclestone week.
There's also a review of MIWK's superb book, 'Jaunt'.
And in the end, more from the None Band 'Plasticine'. Yeah. The one Siobhan is in. She plays keyboards. Badly.
Steve and Ian have a peek at The Dalek Contract and The Final Phase. Will they enjoy it? Will Steve pursuade Big Finish to let folks know it's over two purchases? Will gardening advice help?
Radiophonic God, Dick Mills, talks to Siobhan about just how the Doctor Who theme was created. Sort of. Dick does have a slight tendency to, well... to ramble... But it's damn good rambling!
Recorded at Whooverville 5
It's Wig Man! No, not Smith. No, not McCoy. McGann!
Yeah, alright, we're a bit late on this one, to be honest.
We must thank Dr. Phil from Adventures In Time Space And Music for his summery of the telly movie's score.
And in the end: Stand to attention and hope he doesn't notice you. It's Sinister's Anthem - 'Glory To The Leader For He Is So Much Better Then Us And His Eyepatch Is Nice And Shiny.' Produced by Hardwire....
Just in time for Whooverville 5...
Steve 'I have a very nice beard' Hatcher is joined by some bloke called Ian - also from the Whoovers. This is because Bob appears to have left this universe.
Anyway, they have a nice natter about Big Finishe's Counter Measures 2 - now even Chunkier!
And in the end, the sound of the thunder's drowned out all the pleas..
WE'RE BACK!
How was your holiday? Nice? Were there hats involved?
Anyway, Sinister and Siobhan look at the forthcoming dvd releases of The Ice Warriors and Scream of the Shalka. Oh, and did anything get announced while we were away?
WARNING: THIS EPISODE CONTAINS NAUGHTY WORDS.
And in the end, well... music, of course. Stupid boody question...
SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER!
Yup, we're packing up our goodies and going down the beach. But before we go for a month or so, Sinister and Siobhan take a look see at Sylvester The Human Thing.
And in the end, Sylv is all of 7 inches, and you get to know how to identify Generals in war films....
Sinister and Siobhan look at lots of dvd's and Blu rays:
The Green Death, The Tenth Planet (and Regeneration set), The Dalek Movie Blu Rays and the Speahead From Space Blu ray.
Sinister explores the link between George Lucas and Shakespere.
And in the end, walk amongst the world and learn.
Steve Hatcher reviews John Levene's Big Finish thingy. Bob hangs on for dear life.
BE WARNED. Steve looses it....
Siobhan celebrates six years of podcasting!
Talking of 'six', THE Colin Baker gets scrutinised with an intense scrute.
Sinister scowls.
And in the end... WHERE ARE MY DRAGONS??!
A quick 'un, this 'un.
Join Steve and Bob as they poke The Lady Of Mercia, just for a giggle.
So, much happen then, over the week? Any news? No? Oh. Ok. Well. Look, have a review of In The Name Of The Doctor.
Nightmare in Silver. And Sinister faces his own nightmare as he was forced to watch Time Flight.
Oh very dear. Expect ranting.
And in the end, the light does get put out - on humanity.
The Apocalypse Mirror. The Crimson Horrrrrorrrr....
Thank You, That's What I Wanted To Know! - send your questions for Doctor Sinister to bladeflashing@gmail.com - Same addy for feedback.
New t-shirt avaliable, pop to the facebook group for details.
And in the end, Davros rides the storm...
Journey to the Center of Eldrad.
OR
Gallifreyan Matey.
Work it out for yerselves. So there!
The world's worst review show in the world, EVER!
No, seriously, this one is bad. Siobhan, on her own, ill-prepared and tired, babbles incoherently about Hide, some BBC books and a few Audio Go's.....
And in the end, the gir next door lives in a lighthouse..
As Siobhan is a lazy cow, she decied to give everyone the week off.
So, have instead a special edition of the Blade. This was recorded for Neil and Sue Perryman, from the Adventures With The Wife In Space blog. As They had looked at Davies' More Then Thirty years In The TARDIS telly prog, we thought it only fair that Davies had right of reply.
WARNING: contains naughty words.
Do please have a read of the blog. It's hilarious. I mean, fancy teaming up with someone who doesn't know much about Doctor Who and then putting the results out on the internet....
Actually, out of interest, just what DID happen to Jo!?
Ahem.
www.wifeinspace.com
Ultravox.
Or our review of Cold War.
Not sure which, to be honest.
Also, The Library at Alexandria is reviewed.
It meant something to them....
BIG Show! Davies and Siobhan review 'The Life And Scandalous Times Of John Nathan-Turner'. Davies and Doctor Sinister look at Big Finish's 'Seeds Of War'.
And Bob learns a harsh lesson about being careful what you wish for as Siobhan joins him and Steve to review 'The Rings Of Akhenaten. Pity poor Adric....
There's also a new competition to win all three of the new BBC Books' Eleventh Doctor novels...
THE Flashing Blade Podcast! First with THE news, first with THE reviews. First with...
Bollocks.
No, we ain't really, are we?
Have a review of The Bells Of St. John. Have one of The Scorchies! OOH! Have one of The Rosemarriners!
And in the end, Henson and Benton.
THE Flashing Blade Podcast. It's A Doctor Who podcast!
Well.. not to take advantage of 'Cold War'.. much... Anyway, have a version of the Doctor Who theme with references to Duran Duran, Band Aid and, yes, Ultravox. It's a VERY early track from Siobhan, so it's a bit rough n ready.
The new show will be out tomorrow.
It's our 150th show! How in the name of Bod did this happen!!!??????
Britain's chief walrus polisher, Toby Hadoke, joins us to look at Underworld and the Tom Baker years.

And Toby judges our 'Design a new series Quark' competition.

A late result,
Jago and Litefoot 5 : Gallifrey 5.
That result, there, meaning that Jago and Litefoot go through to the play-offs where they'll face either Dalek Empire or Cybermen. That match to be played on Wednesday evening... there.
And now on BBC1.....
And in the end, It is the most shattering experience of a young man's life when one morning he awakes and quite reasonably says to himself, "I will never play the Dane.
Ooh, long one, this one. Anyway, Join Steve, Bob and Kevin in random combinations as they look at three Big Finish plays; Sands Of Life, Spaceport Fear and House Of Cards.

Great jumping gumdrops!
All change. Mars to Venus route!
Here's something different. An interview with 'Rockjaw' from Marvel Heroes, the new Action RPG game coming soon from Gazillion. As Siobhan is a huge Marvel fan, and loves her MMOs, this was an obvious thing to do.
As for the game itself - well, can't say too much, but it's a Hell's Kitchen of a lot of fun. Got to MarvelHeroes.com for more info.
From the Whoovers, up there in Derby, have a special treat. You don't often get to hear her, especially on a podcast...
An Evening With Bonnie Langford.
Enjoy
Please welcome Kevin Davies as a new presenter. And pity him. He, along with Sinister and Siobhan, looks at The Wrong Doctors. Bob and Steve look at The Auntie Matter.
Yup, it's another Big Finish love-in.
An hour of Big Finish LOVE.
Bob and Steve look at Dark Eyes and UNIT: Dominion,
The result? Big Finish get the greatest compliment Doctor Who fans can possibly give...

Siobhan and Security Commander Sinister start the obligatory 'one story per doctor per month', as featured in every podcast IN THE WORLD, EVER!!!!
However, they are looking at the worst story of each Doctor. There will be pain, blood and tears before November...
Also, Brian reviews The First Sontarans
Also, there is a dramatic reading from Doctor Who and the Zarbi!!!
Have an action packed opening. Then three people talking about Doctor Who. Yup, it's the Snowmen. er, what they're talking about, not the people doing the talking. Though that would be quite cool. No pun intended. Yeah, The Snowmen podcast. Hmm.....
Siobhan and Sinister look at annuals. Steve and Bob look at Bang a Boom. Siobhan looks at The Legacy box set and The Reign Of Terror.
Plus we have music from the Well-Tempered Schism.
Mail us at bladeflashing@gmail.com
Welcome to this year's Chrstmas Staff Party. As usual it's been done in conjunction with Staggering Stories. However, no more Mr. Dalek! Nope, we've decided to do something we've been meaning to do for 21 years! Way back when, the fanzine Star Beggotton had a one off piece, The Secret Log Of Jean Luc Picard. I enjoyed it so much that I asked it's authors, Tim Munro and Nick Cooper, to write more for my own 'zine, Private Lives.
So, this is that first section, narrated and produced by me, Siobhan Gallichan (in case you were wondering).
Steve n Bob look at Voyage to Venus, as well as have a ramble about various big Finish passem.
And, in the end, the final word goes to Albert....
From this year's Chicargo TARDIS, have a bunch of podcasters waffling on about stuff. And thngs.
With thanks to Dr. Phil....
Hello. Brr, it's a bit nippy out. Ok, here's part two of 'An Evening With Lisa Bowerman'. Steve gives you an introduction that will put the whole thing into context.

Star Wars, oh oh oh Staaarrr Wars, oh oh oh Starrr warss in spaaaaacceeeee.
Think that's the lyric. Ahem. Anyway, Sinister and Siobhan look at the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO - and plea for new recruits for the guilds they are in.
Also, they have a nostalgic natter about Doctor Who over the years, personal experiences, memories, thoughts. A more intimate natter then normal. Enjoy. Oh, and a new email addy!!!!!

Yes, it's Mr Dalek time again - and this time, Ben Elliot's story has been translated by John Ranson into the Basic Engly Twentyfido, as lovingly created by Professor Stanley Unwin.
Deep joy
Its the end of an error!
And we look at the last Jago and Litefoot story of series two!
Change my dear. And it seems not a moment has been prepared for!
On Tony's penultimate episode he looks at Revelation of the Daleks, Viki appears to be on the phone to discuss it. Or it could just be a bit of dodgy sound quality. There's Fast Show/Doctor Who sketches. And a huge amount of cat interference.
So, while the cats away......
Bob and Viki listen to some Big Finishes. Bob edits. Viki pines for Tony. (Look, I'm writing this, I'm allowed!)
enjoy
The Wedding of River Song. Oh, and there may be cherry pie, damn fine coffee and a log...
Well, we got there eventually! Tech problems and the death of the internet could not stop this show - somehow we managed to get it out!

Yes, it's finally THAT time... Jo! has to face up to... The Caves Of Androzani. Expect weeping, shreading of clothing, the wearing of sackcloth etc... And Dr Phil gives us an interview with Roger Limb - Radiophonic composer...
The hugely wonderful return of Jago and Litefoot! Will there be a cunning disguise? Will there be alchohol? Will Sergeant Quick actually... be???
The second part of our Death Comes To Time celebration as we're very lucky that Dr. Phil from Adventures In Time Space And Music got a little carried away and produced an entire show!

Feedback, including your thoughts on the new series, and the very sad news of the passing of Lis Sladen, to show@flashingblade.org.uk
So, can Puff let out a mighty roar if little Jackie Paper isn't around to hear him?
With Jo! unable to make the recording of this week's show, Tony decides to go it alone and decides that the only edit should be the removal of a sneeze - well, aside from musical concerns.
Unrehearsed.
Unscripted.
One take.
Be very afraid...

Chaos! No, really. Chaos. For the first time ever, Tony is persuaded to invite a couple of guests onto the show. And somehow (Not-A-Real) Professor Dave and Lillibet, his nurse, from Professor Dave's Ark In Space (it's a podcast, don't cha know?) turn up to review the Big Finish subscriber release, 'The Four Doctors' with Tony and Bob.
Oh, and there may be the finest wines known to man....
It's time to unwrap those soft centers as, after a month off, The Flashing Blade returns. Jo! and Tony look at Dr. Who and the Daleks and Bob, Rob and Lillibet look at various Big Finish releases....
So close you can feel our fire!
At last! At last Tony gets to talk with Paddy Kingsland - the man behind some beautiful musical scores for Doctor Who, Hitchiker's Guide and, ooh, lots more. Tony's been waiting over 30 years for this. Oh dear.
Contained within are memories about The BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Hitchikers, Doctor Who, The Generic Sci-Fi Quarry, the Workshop's live gig at The Roundhouse and much more...
With many thanks to Dr Phil from Adventures In Time, Space And Music for inviting us in on this.
A short time ago, Doctor Phil Serna, from the Adventures In Time, Space And Music podcast, got in touch with Tony and asked him if he'd like to interview Paddy Kingsland. Now, regular views of The Flashing Blade Podcast will be aware that Tony has a slight... Hmm... liking for said composer.
Tony agreed.
What you have hear is the pre-match waffle. A chat between Tony and Dr. Phil about Paddy, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and music in Doctor Who.
For added musical ambience, listen to this on Phil's site, when he releases it shortly...

The annual festive joint release with www.staggeringstories.net and again written by Benjamin. F. Elliott. Have mild peturbation as a figure from Mr. Dalek's past returns. Recoil in moderate concern as a fobwatch is opened.
A one of special from waaaaay back in 2006 when Tony was a radio DJ. Expect music. Lots of music.... and bad stuff - no.. really... it's just Tony, a mic and Tony's choice of music.... RUN!

Right, this time around we scrutinise the McGann series two part finale and then bask in the radioactive winds of Argolis for a look at The Lesiure Hive.
Ah, bliss...
pod 1-9 will be the Mahogany Murders and The Three Doctors and pod 1-10 will be the Davison play 'Spare Parts' and the Ecclestone story 'Dalek'
All comments on those and feedback in general to show@flashingblade.org.uk
toodles for now then..
Um, we overdid it again...
Oopsies,
Anyway, this time around, Jo! and Tony have to talk about Torchwood - The Kids Are Alright, and theres a huge chunk of yummy feedback! No room for any more, alas, but in show 8 we will talk about the final McGann 2-parter from Big Finish and The Lesiure Hive. Show 9 will be The Mahogany Murders with Jago and Litefoot and Jo! experiences The Three Doctors. All thoughts on these and any feedback, mail or mp3 to

There's also a couple more entries to our '1001 Uses for a Nick Briggs' competition, one of which is visual, so you'll all just have to go to our Facebook group, won't you? :P
Nowt special, just the usual stuff.

Recorded in Very Hot Circumstances, in this episode, Jo! and Tony wilt whilst reviewing the Big Finish play 'Spacegoat' and then go on to melt during the review of little known classic, 'Genesis of the Daleks'. We also have feedback and, of course, entries to our still running competition, '1001 Uses For A Nick Briggs'.
Also, we recommend The Terrible Zodin fanzine, found here: http://doctorwhottz.blogspot.com/
All feedback, mp3 or mail, along with comp entries to show@flashingblade.org.uk
next time: 'The Canabalists' and 'Black Orchid'.
Spacegoats!!!
From the Vislor Turlough Jokebook (Penguin, 1984).
'Big, isn't it?'
Yup, this time around we, er, well, we had an oopsies moment and over ran. So have an extra long, squidgy, yummy Flashing Blade Podcast.
This time around Jo! and Tony look at the Big Finish play 'Wirrn Dawn' and also the Ecclestone story 'The Unquiet Dead'.
We also launch our first competition - '1001 Uses for a Nick Briggs'. This is our response to Big Finish's far-too-overloaded release schedule.
It's either that or we start a national cull....
Lots of feedback and nonsense as usual, and next time around we look at the BF play 'Scapegoat' and, because we have to talk about it at some stage, 'Genesis of the Daleks.'.
All thoughts on those two and any feedback, be it mail or mp3 to

Our thrilling third episode!
Or something.
This time around we natter about the Big Finish play 'The Beast of Orlok' and also the Doctor Who story, 'Earthshock'. Jo! sums up just how wrong she got it when it came to 'Ashes to Ashes'. We also, with great reverance, reassure the followers of the Church of THE Colin Baker. Jo! now understands - though she does worry...
Oh, and as promised, heres the addy for our Facebook group:

Greetings, yes?
Having survived, only just, the trauma that was their first show, Tony and Jo! get hauled before microphones again, this time to talk about the new Doctor Who companion, the Big Finish play 'Hothouse', the classic 'City of Death' and Jo! shows just how wrong she is when it comes to 'Ashes to Ashes'. Oh, and they also winge about 'Planet of the Dull'..er..Dead..yes...Dead....Um....
Next time, 'Earthshock' and 'The Beast of Orlok'

This time around we look at the recent Radiophonic Workshop concert, Ashes to Ashes and Doctor Who - The Five Doctors (look, it gets it out of the way early on...lol)

Hello there. Well, I finally got around to starting a new podcast, after Staggering Stories and my stint on the DWO WhoCast. This is just more of the same. However, there is a twist. My new co-host, my plucky girl assistant, Jo!, is fairly new to all this nonsense, and much as she likes Doctor Who etc, she is not well versed in it. As a result, her views are refreshing and new, uncluttered with all the old cliches that all us Doctor Who podcasters come out with. However, she is dangerous when it comes to peppermint tea. Just thought I should warn you...
So, The Flashing Blade Podcast 1-1 (thats series 1, number 1) should be with you shortly. We both hope you enjoy it and we'll plop some bio's and piccies of ourselves up here shortly :)
Toodles...
