The burden in this podcast is that we would take the lead in our home and family life to be a blessing to our family during this current crisis. In Genesis 12:1-3 God told Abraham that in him all the families of the earth would be blessed. In principle, we can also become a blessing—a blessing to our family. Because schools are closed, we are spending more and more time together at home with our family. Whether or not this time becomes a blessing to us and to our family depends on our attitude. There are a number of practical ways we can become a channel of supply to our family. We can care for our siblings and set an example for younger siblings by being a pattern. We can pray with our parents regarding the anxieties they may be facing. We can spend time with our grandparents. In the beginning of the New Testament, the church life was a day to day and house to house church life (Acts 5:42). The Lord’s desire is to bring us back to this kind of church life. May we cooperate with him to become a blessing to our family and a channel of supply!

As we all find ourselves in this unfolding crisis, we can take heart in the Lord’s word. In John 14:1 the Lord said, “Do not let not your heart be troubled; believe into God, believe also into Me.” Our human life and church life have been changed, but we must remember to always give the Lord the way to turn a situation like this to salvation. What we need during this time is to keep our eyes on the Lord so that He would strengthen our faith and we would be filled with peace. At the same time, we should remember the charge in Hebrews 10:25 to “not abandon our assembling together.” That is, we should not forsake the meeting life. During this time, we have many technologies that can still allow us to meet and connect virtually. We should consider one another so that no one would become isolated or shaken. We even have a way to meet virtually with other saints in different localities thanks to technology. We should use the extra time we now have to build up proper Christian habits—our personal time with the Lord, reading the Bible, and praying with others. Finally, we must take the proper precautions the authorities have given us, considering not only our own health but also that of others.

RAISING UP THE NEXT GENERATION FOR THE CHURCH LIFE
In this special fellowship with the young people, Brother Ron Kangas asks us to consider two very important questions: what is a human being and what is the purpose of life on this earth? A very small percentage of people know the answer to these two questions. If we allow the Lord to enlighten us, we will be led to make a choice that will set the course for everything that follows in our human and Christian life. Our response to these two questions can make a tremendous difference in the kind of life we will live in our adult years
In this timely fellowship to the young people, Brother Minoru Chen shares practical points on how we can go on in our human life, our spiritual life and our church life in today’s age. Five words of advice are shared: take care of our personal relationship with the Lord; read the Word; realize the church loves us— practically speaking, that means we should seek out the fellowship and care of the older saints in the church life; serve in the church; and witness for the Lord.
As believers, our eternal destiny is secure. The question before us is not one of eternal security, but rather what kind of life will we live on the earth today. The Lord is very interested in how we will live in this age and where we will be in the coming kingdom age. In this fellowship with the young people, Brother Ron Kangas presents two important thoughts that we should remember for our whole life: are we those living for God’s purpose and are we those being saved from this generation? In this fellowship, we consider what it actually means to live for God’s purpose and how we can be saved from the generation in which we find ourselves.
What does God want? How can we know? Brother Paul Onica shares the answer to this question from the beginning of the Bible. Genesis 1 and 2 present God’s purpose in creating man. Man was made in a very thoughtful way and with a certain intention in mind. These chapters open God’s thought to us concerning His purpose for man. The blueprint is in these chapters.
In this fellowship Brother Ron Kangas talks about the importance of making decisions with the Lord. Certain decisions we make in the course of our human life, particularly when we are young, will set the direction for the rest of our life. God respects the faculty of our human will. No one, not even God, can make a decision for you. Brother Ron shares three examples to illustrate this reality and concludes his fellowship by sharing the delightful and pleasant way in which we can be empowered to choose the Lord’s will.
Our life is governed by certain fundamental decisions that we make in the course of our human life. One of the most important decisions we’ll ever make is whether or not to live for the will of God. Next to believing in the Lord, this may be the second most important decision we’ll ever make. Brother Ron Kangas shares on how practically living for the will of God can inform every area of our human life and why God always respects our will in this matter.
We live in an age that is confused in its thinking. The world has one view of the truth and God has another. The world has its concept concerning love and God has His. The world has one view of marriage and God has another. The world has one sense of value and God has another. How can we navigate through this confusing situation? In this fellowship Brother Ron Kangas shares about the age that we live in the midst of and the importance of making a decision about what we are going to live for.
This is just one of the insights offered in this fellowship by Brother Ron Kangas on the importance of knowing our human spirit. When we come to the great truths of the Bible what we desperately need is God’s light. We may have the knowledge that we have a human spirit but whether or not we treasure and appreciate it is another matter. When God’s light shines on our understanding we will realize that the greatest miracle in the universe is our human spirit.
