The Upper Room, Part II - The Last Supper comes to a dramatic close. Jesus goes to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane, and is finally met by a close friend at the head of a group of soldiers as they come to arrest Him.
"The Upper Room, Part 1" - This final look at the Last Supper provides an opportunity for the disciples to remember where they have been, and how the Lord has brought them to this place.
"Reunions" - The two meetings foreshadowed in episode 5 happen here in episode 6. All of the people around Jesus struggle to understand what is about to happen. And a big character reveal sets us up for what might be to come.
"Because of Me" - things are getting more serious, as the religious leaders debate what to do about Jesus. His Jesus' disciples struggle to come to terms with it. In the night, there are two visits, for two very different reasons.
"The Same Coin" - Episode 4 opens and closes with moments of thankfulness for the goodness of God, and His extravagant blessings on us. But between those episodes, the group continues to struggle with what is on the horizon.
Woes - Jesus confronts the Religious Leaders in powerful ways, as the Sanhedrin continues looking for a solution. The Disciples struggle to comprehend what is coming.
Zeal for your house has consumed me (Ps. 69:9). The action has been building toward a confrontation with the way God's House is being misused. In this episode we see Jesus cleanse the Temple, and confront he Religious Leaders yet again.
Entry - Season 5 is the season of the Last Supper, and covers the events of Holy Week leading up to Jesus' arrest. In Episode 1 we see the Triumphal Entry. Jesus struggles to help the Disciples understand what is coming, and does not hold back when confronting the religious leaders.
Humble - in an often-overlooked episode, Jesus is anointed, and the implications are powerful. And as we close out Season 4, we are brought to precipice of an amazing string of events.
"The Last Sign" - In this episode we see the anticipated miracle - the raising of Lazarus. Tensions mount as the group ponders the implications of this with the religious leaders.
"Dedication" - Things get real, as the Sanhedrin sets their sites on publicly silencing Jesus. And a conference at the Temple, during the Feast of Dedication, proves dangerous.
"Sitting, Serving, Scheming" - In this episode, we see the familiar event of Jesus teaching at Lazarus' house, and the conflict between Mary and Martha. Jesus has some important lessons to teach, However, we also see the scheming and politics in the Sanhedrin, as the danger begins to escalate.
"Calm Before" - In the aftermath of the events from the previous episode, the group struggles with loss. But a long-awaited event, involving a "Centurion" and his servant, finally happens, and gives us a great picture of faith.
"Moon to Blood" - this is a difficult episode. The tensions surrounding Jesus and His followers, arising from both the religious leaders and the Roman officials, begins to mount in ways that have tragic consequences. We have a lot to unpack in this episode.
"Confessions" - In this episode we some important teaching on Division, and on Forgiveness. And Simon has to live into his faith in a new way.
Promises - Season 4 kicks off with a very somber event, one we've been anticipating for some time. Both the first and last chapters of the Baptizer's life are celebrated in this episode.
Malachi is the last book in this collection, and the last book of the Old Testament. The prophet speaks to the people after the rebuilding of the Temple, reminding them of the way God has called them to live.
With Haggai and Zechariah, we shift from a time before the exile, to the time when the people have recently returned from Exile to rebuild Jerusalem and the Temple. These two prophets spoke into the world of an uncertain people, trying to rebuild their lives, their city, and their faith in face of opposition.
While Micah & Zephaniah have much in common with the other prophets, there are some unique features and history behind these prophecies - some you may have heard before.
Just as Amos and Hosea delivered their messages from God to the people at about the same time in Israel's history, so too do Joel and Habakkuk. Their messages also bring the promise of hope and redemption to a beleaguered people - the same hope and redemption promised to us today.
Jonah stands out among the other prophets - unlike the others, it's mostly narrative. It's a familiar story, but goes much deep than just a big fish and a reluctant prophet. In this episode we'll look at the difficult question God asks us all through this story.
Nahum and Obadiah are both oracles from God concerning the way He intends to deal with Israel's enemies: specifically, Nineveh and Edom. But even though these messages were delivered to the People so long ago, they still have things to teach us today.
Amos and Hosea delivered messages to God's people around the same time, with a similar message. The people had wandered far from God and were living in sin. And while their enemies would soon attack and defeat them, the messages God sends through these prophets were not about punishment alone, but also about the redemption God had already planned for them.
The Book of the 12, also known as the "Minor Prophets," are sometimes difficult to understand. As a result, we miss some of the great things God has to say in these books. During this short series, we will take a high-level look at these prophets, try to understand their message, and see what they have to say to us today. In this first episode, we will lay the foundations for the series with some background information that should help us during this journey.
Sustenance, Part 2 - in this episode we'll finish our discussion of Season 3, Episode 8. Following the feeding miracle at the Decapolis, the Disciples decide to row across the Sea of Galilee instead of walking home, but a storm overcomes them, and sets up even more miraculous things.
Sustenance, Part 1 - in this episode we'll talk about the first half of Season 3, Episode 8. Things finally come to an amazing conclusion in the Decapolis, as Jesus draws in the people with His teaching, and then provides sustenance in the most amazing way.
Ears to Hear - in this episode, storylines converge as the action moves toward a conclusion that promises to be amazing. The trouble in the Decapolis demands Jesus' attention, while at the same time, Simon and Eden's pain is threatening to overcome them both.
Ears to Hear - this episode is centered around the question John the Baptize sends to Jesus. But there is so much more going on in and around the lives of the Disciples, and we feel something brewing on the horizon - something big!
Clean, Part 2 - everything has been moving toward the 2 Big Miracles from Luke 8, Mark 5, and Matthew 9. And in this episode, we finally get to see Jesus perform these miraculous healings.
"Clean, Part 1" - Episodes 4 and 5 work together to show two amazing, linked miracles - healing the bleeding woman, and raising the daughter of Jairus. In this episode, part 1, we meet the people whose lives will soon be transformed by Jesus, as they move closer and closer to the healing miracles.
Physician, Heal Yourself - in a less-well-known but incredibly important moment from Luke 4, Jesus returns to Nazareth and teaches in the synagogue, making a public proclamation that sparks outrage and danger.
Two By Two - In episode 2, Jesus prepares His Disciples to go out 2 by 2, Matthew seeks his parents' forgiveness, and Little James has a big conversation with Jesus.
"Homecoming" - In the Season 3 opener, we finally see Jesus deliver the Sermon on the Mount, and we immediately see some of the impact of that teaching on Jesus' Disciples, as those who are not yet His followers. And as a bonus, this is the first time we see all of the 12 Disciples together.
Chapter 7 - As Jesus moves toward the conclusion of this teaching, He speaks to the issue of judging, and concludes by calling us to choose. There are two paths we can follow - which will you choose?
Matthew Chapter 6 - In chapter 6, Jesus transitions from changing our understanding about how God wants us to live in this world, to calling us to stop performing religious duties for how it makes us look, and to start living a life of obedience in our hearts and minds.
Matthew Chapter 5 - Jesus launches into a section of the sermon where He turns traditional understanding on its head, and having the authority to do so, changes our thinking about how God wants us to live in this world.
"The Beatitudes" - Jesus opens the Sermon on the Mount by proclaiming blessing on people. And while it's one of the best-known sections of the sermon, people struggle to understand how to apply it. In this episode, we'll attempt to simplify it, without diminishing its importance.
"Messengers" - In the Season 2 "bonus" Christmas episode, we celebrate the nativity in a slightly different way, and rejoice with Mary as she records her Magnificat for Luke's Gospel.
"Beyond Mountains" - Most of the action of this episode moves toward Jesus delivering the Sermon on the Mount. We are also introduced to a new character - Judas Iscariot, who will join the ministry in Season 3.
"Reckoning" - Some surprising drama in this episode will be hard to find in the Gospels. This episode drives some ongoing storylines, and provides a little suspense for those who haven't "read the book." But one little scene, that might go unnoticed, shows us how followers of Jesus should really follow.
"Unlawful" - There's a lot going on in this episode. But the big moment is near the end, after Jesus heals a man with a withered hand, and makes a monumental statement. We'll talk about what that statement means, and why it's so important.
"Spirit" - SimonZ is brought face-to-face with Jesus in an unusual way; Jesus has an interesting conversation with the Baptizer; and Mary Madgalene struggles. This episode doesn't boast a big Biblical event, but it does have a lot to teach about living as a follower of Jesus.
This episode revolves around the healing of the paralytic at the Bethesda pool, and introduces some important new characters along the way.
In this episode, Jesus and the Disciples travel north into Syria, and Jesus heals all those who come to him. Based on Matthew 4:24, this episode has a lot to teach about the pettiness his followers can get caught up in.

In the opening of Season 2, Jesus remains in Samaria for two days healing and teaching. And we get a wonderful set of bookends in this episode, as John begins composing his Gospel.

As we take a break between Seasons 1 & 2 of "The Chosen," we want to talk about about the Gospels: what are they, and what's different between them. In this episode, we take a look at the Gospels in general, and then dive into the Gospel of Mark.
In part 2 of our discussion on Season 1, Episode 8, we finally dive into to Jesus' conversation with the Samaritan woman (the Woman at the Well), and discover that what Jesus offers, He offers to everyone, regardless of their social status.
In the first half of Episode 8, several storylines converge.
