Peter Hall
A wide spectrum of jazz influenced musics, with emphasis on funky, deep, and even spiritual grooves. Lots of vinyl spinning, with representative labels including Blue Note, CTI, Impulse!, Milestone, and Verve. A show influenced by the spiritual jazz scenes of Chicago and Los Angeles, and the UK Jazz Dance/Acid Jazz scene, but with my own twist and interpretation.

This time it's all about live hip-hop, using more than turntables, samplers, sequencers and drum machines, but also live instruments and even full bands. As good as The Roots are, we discover that there are many more groups in this genre, some even more legendary (for example, Stetsasonic and the Sugarhill Records house band), and we don't even cover them all (for example, Crown City Rockers, The Coup, and Audible Mainframe are missing from this episode).
