Conversations With Christians
The book of Mark 8:38 reads thus:
[38]If anyone is ashamed of me and my message in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” It is against this backdrop that this podcast is created!
Nothing remains the same forever! A message of hope to my countrymen.
No matter how tough the situation may be right now, no matter a myriad of challenges current circumstances present us with-nothing in reality remains the same forever! No body remains stuck in the same place for ever, no matter how long it may take for them to move on!
The hopelessness will once again find hope! Those whose dreams have died will once again find the courage to dream! Those who have lost faith will find the faith again! Broken hearts will be mended and the unloved, the rejected and the unanswered in prayers will find answers to their call for help!
Even in the midst of life's greatest uncertainty posed by Covid-19 (a disease caused by coranavirus), humanity will rise again, this time around even more stronger! Let us read from the book of verses John 5:1-9 to cement our message of hope which reads thus:
[1]Afterward Jesus returned to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish holy days.[2] Inside the city, near the Sheep Gate, was the pool of Bethesda, with five covered porches. [3]Crowds of sick people—blind, lame, or paralyzed—lay on the porches.[5]One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years. [6]When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?”
[7]“I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.”
[8]Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!”
[9]Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up his sleeping mat and began walking!
There are few things that bear highlighting from this biblical passage:

“[1]Jesus returned to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish holy days” - so the circumstances of the day or the situation does really determine whether you'lll find help or not.

“[5]One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years” - The number of years also does not really matter - when your time has come, it has come. You'll find help!

Jesus asks the man “would you like to get well”, in response, the man starts off by complaining about how unfair other people have been towards him “[7] I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up, Someone else always gets there ahead of me.” The man does not only complain about the unfairness of the situation, he also complains about having no relatives, he's on his own!

The man was humble notwithstanding his circumstances - for he addressed Jesus “sir” without even knowing him.

In response Jesus says to the man “[8] “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!”. Notice, that Jesus didn't even touch or lay his hands on the man, he simply declared healing with his words! That's the power of the Word.
