Among other duties, the commission will advise the Board of Supervisors on matters of historic preservation and planning in relation to the Township’s Comprehensive Plan. The commission will also develop ideas for historical education programs within the Township.

In a step towards a greener future, the Upper Merion Township Board of Supervisors has recently passed a “Single-Use Product Regulations” ordinance. The “Single-Use Product Regulations” ordinance aims to regulate the distribution and usage of single-use carry-out bags, plastic straws, plastic utensils, and expanded polystyrene food service products. By promoting and facilitating the use of reusable alternatives, the township is setting an example for being environmentally conscious within the community.
