We begin and end our show this week with music form the Hebridean Island of Tiree. Birthplace of such great current bands as Skerryvore, Skippinish and Trail West as well as home of a great Summer music festival. There's also music from the Islands great musical heritage in the form of the "Tiree Songbook".
Also, new music from James Duncan MacKenzie, the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music in Plockton, Dosca and Andrew Douglas.
Happy New Year! Welcoming in 2018 we take time to catch up on the final few new releases of 2017 with music from Dougie McCance, Tim Edey, The National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland, Oban Gaelic Choir and Iain Morrison.
With the sad news of Norman's passing, we look back to the day he wandered the World Pipe Band Championships from 2006. As well as an entertainer he was a highly skilled piper and composer so also have music from Norman himself and a host of other great bands who play his tunes. Griogair pays a tribute to him in his own words.
