We were still experiencing audio issues and internet issues. Sorry again for the lack of quality.
We experience technical difficulties this week. We apologize for the poor audio quality. We will hopefully have it corrected soon.
We apologize and as we did not have audio being recorded for the first few minutes of this sermon. Most of the sermon is here with a few minutes of introduction missing.

The internet did not cooperate on this week and the sermon did not record correctly. So here is a quick 5 minutes summary of what you may have missed.
The end of this was dropped off because the microphone went out near the end. So the last couple of minutes and prayer are missing from the file.
Keep reading: John 15, Galatians 5
Further reflections, for the week:
1. What are some of the barriers that make it difficult for you to be with Jesus or abide in his presence?
2. What practices do you currently have in your life that help you pursue that presence?
3. Do you feel like you need more help to find tools to improve this area of your life? What makes it hard to find those tools typically?
4. Have a conversation this week with someone about God‘s presence, what do you feel and don’t feel when you seek his presence, and what you hope for in pursuing that relationship.
CONTINUE TO INVEST THIS WEEK BY...
Keep Reading: 1 Corinthians 9, 1 Peter 2
Reflect:
1. Take some time to write out and describe your training routine when it comes to strengthening your walk with Jesus.
2. If you put the same level of effort into training for a race, how far do you think you could run?
3. Take time to reflect and write down what your true expectations are, for you to participate in the ministry of the kingdom, or to support others who do?
4. Have a conversation with a friend or fellow congregation member this week on what the differences are between early disciples choosing to follow Jesus and for us today in the modern church?

There are some audio issues that exist in this recording because some microphone issues that happened on site. We tried to normalize the volume but know there is some cracking and inconsistencies.
Some of this week's audio is great and some is muffled. We apologize for the inconsistency.
The story/video clip referenced in this week's sermon was the account of the woman at the well from The Chosen which can be watched here https://watch.angelstudios.com/thechosen
The episode is season 1 episode 8. The story can also be found in John chapter 4.
We apologize for the poor audio quality this week. We continue to have some recording issues that we are sorting out.
We are sorry that the recording did not catch an opening portion of the sermon this week.
Set up an account at Core52.org to find daily studies to go along with this week 1 lesson. We would love for you to follow along with us.
Another Sunday of live stream of Facebook. This is the audio pulled from the sermon portion of that live stream.
This was our first week of doing only a live stream during a period of time when everyone has been asked to limit gatherings to under 10 people to fight the spread of COVID-19 virus.
Title: Redefining Relationship Status
Scripture to Dwell On: Genesis 1-3, Matthew 19, Mark 10, 1 Corinthians 7, 2 Corinthians 6, Ephesians 5, Colossians 3, Hebrews 13
Being Transformed:
If you are married, is making one another holy apart of the lens by which you see your marriage? If not, talk to your spouse about ways to improve that process in your home.
If you are single, Paul says that you have more opportunity to invest in the Kingdom without split attention. Are you taking advantage of that, or do you find yourself more consumed with finding relationship here than finding relationship with Christ? Talk to someone about ways you can redefine your current status and live with purpose in that status through God's understanding of this season.
Regardless of our status, God desires to be our primary relationship and be the one who shapes all other relationships. Write down one goal for yourself as to how you can more effectively surrender your status to him and allow him to shape how you view relationships this week.
Title: Redefining Work
Scripture to Dwell On: Genesis 1-3, Proverbs 16:3, Matthew 11, John 6, 1 Corinthians 10, Galatians 6, Colossians 3:23
Being Transformed:
Spend some time thinking about what motivates you to work. Who are what drives you to invest in your career, house work, and other labor that presents itself to you?
Write your thoughts out on this question. "Do you feel like the work you regularly do could actually make an impact on the Kingdom and God's purposes?"
Have a discussion with someone this week about what it would look like to let God redefine your work habits and the motivation that drives you to accomplish your work.
Title: Redefined
Scripture to Dwell On: Exodus 3, Psalm 139, Proverbs 16:9, Isaiah 43:1-7, Isaiah 55, Jeremiah 29, Micah 6:8, John 15, 2 Corinthians 3
Being Transformed:
If I were to ask neighbors, friends, family, coworkers, etc. what they think of when I say your name and show them your picture, what would they say?
If you were honest with yourself, what thing do you invest the most in that you hope people respect you for?
How many of the important areas of your life do you regularly look to and rely on God's understanding and definition for in order to succeed?
Title: Sabbath
Scripture to Dwell On: Genesis 2, Exodus 20, Exodus 31, Deuteronomy 5, Isaiah 58, Ezekiel 20:12, Luke 4, Luke 6, Luke 23, Mark 2, Hebrews 4
Being Transformed:
Spend some time to think about the last time you intentionally rested from the busy of this life with activities that were focused on life giving rest and worship.
Talk to your family or people in your life who can help you, to discuss what it would look like to set aside time each week for intentional rest and reflection.
Make a set plan for how to begin putting time like this into your regular routine.
Notes:
Title: Slow
Scripture to Dwell On: Psalm 46, Ecclesiastes 3, Habakkuk 2:3, Mark 5, John 11, 1 Peter 5, James 1
Being Transformed:
This week take some time to evaluate if you have a hurry problem by trying a few simple tests. Make a conscious effort to walk slower. Try driving the speed limit without going over (I know we should be doing this anyway, but be honest....). Get into the longest checkout line and wait. When you think of someone this week stop and give them a call and talk for a few minutes rather than leaving it for later.
When you test these areas of your life and slow down, did your anxiety level go up, or did you notice things or experience things you were not expecting? Did it leave you time to pray for more people, talk to God and turn your mind toward him? Did you find your ability to love others increase or decrease?
Talk to someone about your efforts this week and share your experience. Pray for one another and discuss ways you can make continued efforts to slow down and seek God's presence and love for his people over your own schedule.
Title: Simplicity
Scripture to Dwell On: Proverbs 30:8-9, Matthew 6, Matthew 19, Luke 12:15, Romans 8, 2 Corinthians 1:12, Philippians 4, 1 Timothy 6:6-11, Hebrews 13
Being Transformed:
Spend some silent time in prayer asking God to make clear to you what it is your passions are that you struggle to find contentment in. Identify just one place you can begin to pursue simplicity.
Spend some more silent time praying over the area you struggle to find contentment in. What about this passion makes you feel fulfilled? What causes you to struggle to be content with God's plan for your life in that area?
As you wrestle with new truths on this subject find someone to talk to that can give you perspective and accountability in seeking simplicity and contentment in God and what He provides.
Scripture to Dwell On: 1 Kings 19, 1 Chronicles 16:11, Psalm 23-27, Psalm 51, Psalm 119, Psalm 139, Matthew 6:33; 7:3-5, Luke 5:16, 1 Corinthians 11, 2 Corinthians 12:9; 13:5, Galatians 6:1-5, James 4
Being Transformed:
Take some time this week to switch up your prayer routine. Take some quiet time in prayer to reflect and look inward at how well you reflect the fruits of the Spirit, how devoted you are to the things that are important to walking with Christ, and how passionate you are about your relationship with Christ.
Write down some areas you feel like God is calling you to grow in and start praying over some practical first steps toward being transformed in that area of your life.
Title: Seek
Scripture to Dwell On: Numbers 10-14, 1 Chronicles 22:19, Jeremiah 29:13, Matthew 3-4, John 14-15, Acts 17:27, Hebrews 11:6
Being Transformed:
Identify some places you can go that are truly away from the noise of your every day life. These should be places void of distraction and other obstacles that would keep you from seeking God's presence.
Go to one of those places this week and try to spend a half an hour there without any noise or distraction, and without you doing all of the talking. Spend as much of your time as you can focusing on God's goodness and his presence there with you in that moment. Simply take time to abide in Him.
Title: Passions
Scripture to Dwell On: Psalm 23-25, Matthew 6:21;11, Luke 10, Romans 12:1-2, 1 Thessalonians 4, James 4
Being Transformed:
This week spend some time creating a list of the passions you chase after in this life and the things that consume your attention and time.
Talk to someone close to you in your life about the value of those passions and pursuits compared to your perceived value of Christ.
Title: Being Transformed
Scripture to Dwell On: Matthew 17, Mark 19, Romans 12, 2 Corinthians 3, Galatians 4, 1 John 3
Continuing the Discussion:
In what ways have you seen transformation in your life between your decision to follow Christ to this current point in time?
Have an honest conversation with one another about the extent to which you believe God wants to transform us from our old self to our new self.
Spend some time in prayer this week creating a list of growth goals for yourself in 2020 and come back together and share those with one another.

Continuing the Discussion:
How wonderful is it when a child shares the story of the Gospel and sees the beauty of who Jesus is? Share some specific stories.
If you are honest with yourself, are there people who view as unworthy of God's love and perfect gift of Jesus?
Why is it hard for us to offer that love and gift to some people in our lives?
To who, and how can you begin extending the love of Jesus to over the next few weeks?
Title: See, He Changes Everything
Scripture to Dwell On: Matthew 1-2, Luke 1-2
Continuing the Conversation:
Put yourself in Joseph's shoes for a minute and talk about the ways you would have felt in this situation.
Are there times in your life that what you feel God is calling you to seems to be more than you think you can handle?
What are hard steps you have had to take in order to follow God and His calling on your life?
What difficult steps is He calling you to take now in order to fulfill His purposes?
Title: See, I Am

Continue the Conversation:
How often do you slow down and truly feel like you have spent time in the presence of God?
What things demand your attention and keep you moving past the obvious truth that God is with you here in the now?
What can you do this week to slow down and set your eyes on the obvious truth that is right before us, the truth that Christ has come because he wants us to abide in him and he wants to abide with us?

Talk about a way God has answered big prayers in your life, or in the lives of someone close to you.
When does it become easy to feel alone and as if God is distant from you?
What things help you to feel near to God and His presence? Do you need to invest in those a little more right now?
What areas of your life right now do you need to place into God's hands, trusting that He understands and will answer in ways that go beyond your expectations?

Continue the Discussion:
What things do you do during the week to fill your heart with God's presence and love? What if anything needs to be done to improve those efforts?
What other things do you fill your heart with that cause agape love for others to decrease in your own life?
Who do you have regular and consistent interaction with that helps you understand different perspectives on the world and helps you to love more deeply?
What is one thing you can start trying to plug into this week that will help you begin meeting new people? Who is going to help hold you accountable and ask you questions regularly as to how things are going?
