All About Nursing explains how nurses play a significant role in providing healthcare in multiple care settings. You will be able to hear from some of these key nurses who work in practice, academia and other practice settings. There are many different kinds of roles nurses have to choose from which makes it a great profession to work in. Additionally you will hear about challenges nurses are engaged in as healthcare continues to experience an unprecedented need to decrease costs and improve outcomes. Innovative ways nurses are addressing some key healthcare issues will also be shared.

Dr. Joyce Batcheller is an Executive Nurse Advisor with The Center for the Advancement of Healthcare Professionals for AMN Healthcare and is responsible for the development and delivery of two Chief Nursing Officer Academies: CNO Academy I, which was developed for new and aspiring CNOs and CNO Academy II, which was developed for experienced CNOs.
Dr. Batcheller holds the position of adjunct professor for Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing in Lubbock, Texas and serves as a consultant and educator for the Nursing Knowledge Center.

Dr. Batcheller is an innovative healthcare leader known for her ability to transform nursing and improve patient outcomes. She inspires nurses and other healthcare professionals to reach their full potential. One of Dr. Batcheller’s unique talents is her ability to create a compelling vision to engage, empower, and stimulate innovation among her peers.

Having served as a Chief Nursing Officer for more than 19 years in one of the largest healthcare providers in Central Texas, she has extensive experience in leading large system changes within a complex multi-hospital organization. She created and implemented a system-wide shared governance model and led a pilot site for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation/Institute of Healthcare Improvement – Transforming Care at the Bedside Project. During her tenure, nine of these system hospitals achieved American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification — four were Magnet®-certified and five were Pathway to Excellence®-certified.

Dr. Batcheller has specialized in chief nursing officer on-boarding and authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on the subject. She is an innovative health care leader who is highly sought for speaking engagements nationally and is a holder of a Fundamentals of Magnet® certificate. She holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock.

Vicky Tiase is a Nursing Informaticist in the Department of Information Services at New York Presbyterian Hospital, with over 12 years of experience of giving clinical input to technology projects. She is responsible for supporting a range of clinical information technology projects related to patient engagement, patient experience and care coordination. She was the nursing lead for the design, implementation and rollout of an institution-developed personal health record myNYP.org. Vicky leads research efforts to ensure the capture and presentation of data for the use and benefit of both patients and clinicians. She completed her Masters in Nursing Informatics at Columbia University and is currently pursuing a PhD from the University of Utah with a focus on the integration of mHealth data into clinical workflows. Molly K. McCarthy MBA, RN-BC is the National Director, US Provider Industry and Chief Nursing Officer in the Health and Life Sciences Sector for Microsoft. With over twenty-five years' experience in the healthcare industry, Molly is passionate about uniting technology, clinicians and patients to improve care delivery, safety and outcomes.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University, and began her career as a nurse in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Units. Upon receiving her Master of Business Administration from the University of San Francisco, she combined her clinical and business backgrounds within the medical device and clinical informatics industry. Molly started in a product and market development role at Natus Medical, Inc, in Silicon Valley. She furthered her career in a business development roles for the Association for Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), where she was responsible for piloting a benchmark database that extracted data from hospital EHRs in order to provide business intelligence to hospital leadership. Prior to Microsoft, she worked with Philips Healthcare's Patient Care and Clinical Informatics Divisions, where she orchestrated large enterprise system integrations of patient monitoring networks into hospital EMRs. At Microsoft, she oversees the strategy for the provider market in the United States.
