Fordham went into the half down 12, with the score at 42-30, but the Hawks were just as hot out of half time. They went up 29 points with 13 to go in the game for their biggest lead of the day. The scoring outburst from Saint Joseph's was large in part thanks to senior guard Langston Galloway's offensive outburst. He scored 33 points and went 10 for 15 from 3-point distance. On the final episode of this season's Monday Night Quarterback, Head Coach Joe Moorhead talks with Mike Watts and Nick Logerfo about the Rams falling short in the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs aginst Towson, 48-28. He also looks back at the best season that Fordham has had in the modern era.

View Details

The Rams' dream 12-2 season comes to close with a 48-28 loss against Towson in the second round of the FCS playoff. Michael Nebrich threw for 394 yards and 4 TDs, but that wasn't enough as Towson's Walter Payton finalist Terrance West rushed for 3 scores and quarterback Peter Athens threw for another 3. Towson will advance to the quarterfinals, while Fordham heads back to Bronx.

It was an unexpected season for the Rams after going 1-10 two years ago and 6-5 last year. Coach Moorhead's squad exceeded many expectations and was even ranked in the FCS top 5 in the polls at one point. The Rams were in this one the entire way too, with a 21-21 tie going into halftime. In the second half, however, the offense sputtered and the Tigers' offense proved too much for the defense to handle.

The Rams went down 21-7 early, but two touchdown passes from Michael Nebrich and some luck, with a kickoff glancing off a Towson player that Fordham was able to recover, the Rams found themselves all tied up. In the second half, Athens started quickly, throwing a 46 yard touchdown and would keep the lead the rest of the game.

Mack Rosenberg, Michael Watts, and Nick Logerfo break down today's loss and recap the entire game. The guys highlighted Dan Light's impressive day, despite the game's outcome and talked about Athens' tremendous performance.

Matt Moro caught up with Coach Joe Moorhead for his reactions after the loss.

Jack Coffey Field was silent a mere two weeks ago when starting quarterback Michael Nebrich left the Bucknell game with a knee injury. Today, the Fordham fans cheered once again as he returned to the field. The Rams fell last week without Nebrich, but the offense took off with his return, marching 65 yards in under two minutes to give Fordham a 7-0 this afternoon. They would not look back. Fordham scored four touchdowns on their first four drives of the game, and when all was said and done, the team racked up 8 trips to the endzone.

Wide receiver and punt returner, Brian Wetzel, had half of those - three through the air, one an 81-yard punt return. Tebucky Jones was the team's leading receiver with 224 yards through the air and one touchdown. On the ground, Carlton Koonce rushed for nearly 150 and added 2 scores of his own.

Fordham, ranked 11/12 heading into the game, now awaits the decision of the NCAA Selection Committee on November 24th.

Fordham fell to Syracuse Tuesday night at the Carrier Dome, 89-74. The Rams had three players in double figures including a career high 34 points from Branden Frazier and 19 from Jon Severe.

Turnovers and too many second chance opportunities for the Orange did not help Fordham on Tuesday, as the team drops to 1-1 on the young season. They trailed by over 20 points for most of the game, but didn't give up. The Rams cut the Orange lead to 13 with about 3:30 left before Syracuse put it away.

In the Xs and Os Segment, Defensive Coordinator David Blackwell talks about how the Rams turned up the defense in the second half. Coach Blackwell breaks down the Levon Williams interception at the beginning of the second half that turned the game around.

Then, Mike Watts goes Inside the Huddle with QB Michael Nebrich who talks about his 524 yard passing game and his key running touchdown to spark the Rams at end the first half. The Fordham Rams continued their pursuit of an undefeated season with a narrow defeat over Holy Cross this Saturday 32-30. Fordham was led, as they have been all season, by quarterback Michael Nebrich who became the first player in school history to throw for over 500 yards.

Fordham found themselves trailing at halftime for the second time this season. Holy Cross QB Peter Pujals took advantage of two Fordham turnovers in the first half. But the Rams came out strong in the second half, giving up just one touchdown to Holy Cross and scoring two touchdowns plus a key field goal from Mike Marando to make it a 9 point lead.

A year after a tightly contested Liberty Cup victory against Columbia (0-1) on the road, the Rams (4-0) overpowered the Lions in front of over 7,000 at Jack Coffey Field, 52-7.  And despite the score at half, 10-0, the game never seemed within reach for the Lions.

The Rams offense were keyed by Carlton Koonce on the ground, scoring two touchdowns in the red zone.  Through the air, Brian Wetzel caught two touchdowns, while quarterback Michael Nebrich worked past a couple of turnovers to turn in another award worthy performance.

On defense, the Rams pitched a shut out for over 55 minutes, Ian Williams forced a fumble off a devastating corner blitz, which Brett Biestek recovered for the touchdown. Williams finished with six tackles, two forced fumbles, and Patriot League defensive player of the week honors.

This week, we welcomed Koonce and Williams to the show to talk about the Rams continued resurgence and the Liberty Cup. We also invited wide receivers coach Mark Dupuis, in his first year on Rose Hill, to explain the mystique surrounding his epic hair, and the play of his even more epic wideouts.  As always, we had Joe Moorhead on to chart the course for the Rams week five opponent, Saint Francis.

The last time Fordham beat Villanova, Warren G. Harding was the president of the United States. The Rams snapped a 93 year losing streak to the Wildcats with an emotional 27-24 win over the eighth best team in the FCS. The win is hands down the biggest during the short two year tenure of head coach Joe Moorehead and more importantly keeps the Maroon and White undefeated at 2-0.

On the One on One post game report, I talked with the game’s announcers Mike Watts and Nick Logerfo about the keys to success for the home team. Both the guys highlighted quarterback Michael Nebrich’s performance as the redshirt sophomore run for two touchdowns and threw for 190 yards. Our sideline reporter Matt Moro caught up with a joyous Coach Moorehead after the game as he was extremely proud of his squad. Despite Fordham losing starting linebacker Jake Rodriguez to injury, the Rams defense allowed just three points in the second half.

Fordham’s focus now shifts to Philadelphia as the Rams head to the City of Brotherly Love on Saturday to take on the 0-2 Temple Owls. After falling to FBS opponent Cincinnati last year in Ohio, the Maroon and White now knows what to expect when it comes to playing a big time atmosphere.
