Angel City gets their own trifecta after Press scores off an effortless goal and McCaskill gets a brace against her former team. It’s Pride Night as ACFC welcomes Houston into the Banc. Coming off polar opposite results in their previous matchups, the teams channel their emotions as they battle it out evenly, but finishing in a draw. After stealing Freye Coombe, Daniel Ball, and Didi Haracic, Gotham gets their revenge by stealing 3 points from us at home.
What a fun night! The Banc was electric on May 21st as ACFC earn their first win against KC Current. After a first half filled with high pressure, great shots and amazing saves, Christen Press takes on the Current defense putting an amazing ball across the face resulting in an own goal. Haracic makes several amazing saves throughout the game to keep the clean sheet and we get Sunday to recover and celebrate.
ACFC take home their first ever away win! Washington Spirit are not able to stop the attacking power of Christen Press, Simone Charley, Jun Endo and Defender, Tyler Lussi?! With some changes to the line up ACFC had us all holding our breath but we come away with the clean sheet, 3 points and our first away-days win!
Join us as we recap game 2 of the inaugural season for Angel City FC. Missing Ali Riley made it tough for us as we fall to Orlando Pride 0-1 in our second home match at the Banc. There were some not-so-great calls from the referees and a few missed connections from our girls leading to this tough loss. The team fought hard and despite a great second half and lots of shots we were unable to equalize. It's only week 2 though and we will grow from here!

In our first ever match at Banc of California Stadium ACFC take home the win! With goals from Vanessa Gilles and Jun Endo combined with greater keeping from DiDi Haracic, this game was one for the record books. Scoring early in the 3rd minute of play the atmosphere was electric. We are so happy to be home and to celebrate everything this team has worked so hard for. WHAT A DAY!
In our last game of the Challenge Cup, we play spoiler to the Thorns as we take home our first win! With a PK goal by Christen Press in the first half, we find our way into the winner circle and what a great feeling it is! We are riding this high all the way to our regular season home opener this Friday at Banc of California Stadium.
With great play coming from Megan Reid and DiDi Haracic, we are so excited to see this team perform and play the way we know they can. This is our team, this is our city, this was our win.
We road trip down south to support our Angel City as they take on Alex Morgan and the San Diego Wave. It was a fun trip but sadly our girls fall to SD Wave 4-2. Going into the international break we know we have work today but are glad morale is high and we have the team to do the work and get it done. Our supporters are unmatched, our team chemistry is great and we know it will click soon!

You asked for it, and it's here! The Defenderettes are launching their very own podcast! In this pilot episode, Panda, Scarfette, and Sweet Home Amy reunite after their incredibly successful Women's World Cup recap episodes on Defenders of the Banc (check out those episodes!). Here, they join forces on their new podcast, cleverly titled Center Mid Chicks, to talk about the resurgence of women's soccer in the US and get into the details of the NWSL.
It starts with the great bacon debate - oven, skillet...did someone say air fryer? Then the ladies give you a bit of NWSL history, and introduce their new segment "Who's On Top?"
