The Filling of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit doesn’t just come upon you — He stirs within you.His filling is not a one-time event but a divine rhythm.When the stirring comes, it’s heaven’s signal: It’s time to move.

“On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.”

1. You Were Designed to Carry God

You were made in God’s image — designed for His Spirit to dwell in you.

“Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.”

“And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.”

2. Filling Is Not Just a Pouring — It’s a Stirring

He’s already in you. The stirring is His signal to act.Sometimes what we call instinct is actually the Holy Spirit’s gift being stirred.

“This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”

3. The Stirring Activates What’s Already in You

The filling is a reactivation of what the Spirit already placed inside of you.

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.”

4. The Gifts Are the Overflow

When the Spirit stirs, the gifts flow out to help others — not to highlight us.

“Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.”

5. The Gifts Are Given for Impact, Not Image

Don’t confuse charisma with calling.Spiritual showmanship never impressed Jesus — faithfulness did.We are vessels, not the source.Let’s avoid spiritual ego and gift envy — and let the Spirit express Himself through our true selves.

6. The World Is Waiting on What’s in You

You don’t need a title or a platform — just a willing heart and the Holy Spirit’s stirring.

THE FOUR WINDS OF SCRIPTURENot all wind (movement) feels the same — but every wind God sends is significant.

1. East Wind – Judgment & Correction

“So Moses lifted his staff over the land of Egypt, and the Lord caused an east wind to blow over the land all that day and through the night. When morning arrived, the east wind had brought the locusts.”—(Exodus 10:13 NLT)

The east wind may feel like loss, but it leads to cleansing.

2. West Wind – Restoration & Mercy

“The Lord responded by shifting the wind, and the strong west wind blew the locusts into the Red Sea. Not a single locust remained in all the land of Egypt.”—(Exodus 10:19 NLT)

The west wind changes everything. When it blows, God restores.

3. South Wind – Comfort, Favor, and Anticipation

“When the south wind blows, you say, ‘Today will be a scorcher.’ And it is.”—(Luke 12:55 NLT)

The south wind is the Spirit’s whisper: ‘You are not alone.’

4. North Wind – Challenge & Strength

“As surely as a north wind brings rain, so a gossiping tongue causes anger.”—(Proverbs 25:23 NLT)

“Awake, north wind! Rise up, south wind! Blow on my garden and spread its fragrance all around.”—(Song of Solomon 4:16 NLT)

The north wind doesn’t destroy — it develops.

Together, these winds represent the fullness of the Spirit’s work: to convict, to restore, to comfort, and to strengthen — all to transform us.

The wind of the Spirit isn’t random — it’s strategic.Each wind — east, west, south, and north — carries something different, but all of them are in God’s hands. Some winds bring correction. Others bring comfort. Some bring breakthrough, and others bring pressure and anticipation.

But the one thing they all have in common? They bring change. When the Spirit moves, you can’t stay the same. The wind always changes the atmosphere.

God is not in the business of comfort — He’s in the business of transformation. And transformation always starts with a change in the wind.

GOD SENDS THE WIND TO SHIFT US“And the Lord changed the wind to a very strong west wind, which caught up the locusts and blew them into the Red Sea.”—Exodus 10:19

God’s wind doesn’t always bring in something new — sometimes it blows something old away.

CHANGE ISN’T COMFORTABLE, BUT IT IS HOLY“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”—Isaiah 43:18-19

You can’t walk into newness while dragging old weight.

EMBRACE THE SHIFT – DON’T RESIST ITYou can’t catch the wind and cling to the dock at the same time.

Declare biblical identity statements daily.

Replace negative self-talk with Scripture.

Take steps that reflect who God says you are.

Living in the church age.The age of the church (us) is governed, directed, corrected, and motivated by the Holy Spirit.

He works with the individual and the corporate.

Why Wind?That’s how he displayed himself to the Church the very first time He made himself known to them.

Many Christians live life trying to row when God wants them to sail.Jesus promised greater works because He would send the Holy Spirit to empower us.

His Going Is Our EmpowermentHe gave us the sails, but the Holy Spirit is the one who fills them…

But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.—John 16:7 NLT

Jesus’ Promise Requires the Spirit’s Power and Our Surrender to it.I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.—John 14:12 NLT

Not because we’re greater, but because the Spirit empowers us.

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’—John 16:13-15 NLT

Without the Spirit, Life Becomes MeaninglessThe activity Jesus needs us to be involved in is to be based on living on purpose for him and his kingdom.

We chase the wind instead of being empowered by Him.

We aren’t called to chase meaningless things but to catch the true Wind — the Spirit.

But when the wind blows — movement happens without striving.

Catching the Wind starts with surrender, not striving.Are you catching the Spirit’s wind, or chasing your own ambitions?

You are the church, and both individually and corporately we are what the Holy Spirit needs to complete the mission of Christ.

Determined 2 – Overcomers

Thinking like Jesus involves making decisions as He did—unwavering and purpose-driven. Circumstances never influenced His pre-decided convictions. He remained resolute in fulfilling His mission. And so can you!

For who has known the mind and purposes of the Lord, so as to instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes].

—1 Corinthians 2:16 AMP

VALUE-BASED DECISIONS

Making decisions like Jesus involves pre-determining our values and purpose and then resolutely following through with unwavering commitment.

THE ART OF PRE-DECIDING

Using Jesus’ values, we will determine our course of action before the moment of decision.

Relying on Jesus’ values makes the outcome inevitable!

When our values are clear, difficult decisions are made easier.

We make our decisions, but really, our decisions make us.

John 10:10 – Satan steals our lives by stealing the values upon which our decisions should be determined.

THE VALUE STEALERS

(THAT JESUS OVERCAME)

1. TEMPTATION

Temptation occurs when we use values to make decisions that align with Satan’s desired outcome.

And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway.

—Romans 7:18-19 NLT

By trapping you in a circumstantial war against temptation, Satan keeps you from fully living the supernatural life.

THE EXCUSES

“I wasn’t ready…”“I didn’t see that coming.”“I didn’t want to have to think about it anymore.”“I was hurting so badly.”

Most of the bad things that happen to us are unplanned…But we have to plan how to handle them when they come our way…

Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.

Why prepare? Ready? Be on your guard? Why watch & pray!

I wrote to you… so that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes.

Satan wants you to be wrecked by blame and shame. It’s not the deed of sin but the consequences he is interested in.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Determining to live life according to the values of Jesus and how He has asked us to live and not on the weakness of our own human nature is how we resist the Devil…

2. You are not as strong as you think.

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!

Studies show that people overestimate their ability resist temptation.Restraint Bias—You think you can resist more than you can.

Resisting temptation takes tons of energy.

Willpower is a limited resource. The more you use – the less you have.

Because of the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now, you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy.

For I know that nothing good lives within the flesh of my fallen humanity. The longings to do what is right are within me, but willpower is not enough to accomplish it. My lofty desires to do what is good are dashed when I do the things I want to avoid.

Three Keys to Fighting Temptation—Pre-Decide!

Creating barriers between you and sin may seem restrictive but it is liberating.

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.

2.Magnify the cost.What if the worst-case scenario comes true?

Satan loves the destructive consequences of sin.

…You will be sinning against the Lord; and you may be sure that your sin will find you out.

3.Plan your escape.

Joseph was a very handsome and well-built young man, and Potiphar’s wife soon began to look at him lustfully. “Come and sleep with me,” she demanded.

Jospeh had many hurts to justify a little pleasure and fun.

We use our disappointments to justify our disobedience.We use the values of Jesus to build our determination.

Spouse isn’t meeting my needs—Do what I gotta do!. God let me be in this spot—I’m gonna “live” in it!

Joseph told her—No deal—Husband trusts—How sin him/God? He resisted—No more temptation?Day after day—She hit on him—Day after day—Devil wear down.

You might think Joseph was strong. He wasn’t half as strong as he was ready!He was smart enough to Pre-Plan his Escape!

But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house.

Better to have a good name than a good coat.

If you’re not strong enough to resist it—Run from it!

And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

No one plans to mess up—Few plan not to!

Pre-Decide—I’m putting distance between myself and temptation.

Why would I resist a temptation in the future if I have the power to eliminate it today?

Decisions won’t be based on emotions in the momentBut on the values God placed on your heart!

A Value: YOU ARE VALUABLE

Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.

Our defeat of the devil is recognizing the power of Jesus in our weakness.

…To be more like Jesus and not be defined or trapped by our circumstances.

No matter how often life’s unplanned circumstances have me falling, the grace of God has me standing. “I plan not to fall to temptation but to stand in His grace.”

There is no reason for you to take on the shame that keeps you bent over and your value diminished.

The temptation you may have submitted to may not be the temptation at all.

I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.

TAKE BACK YOUR LIFE

DETERMINED

Definition: Having made a firm decision and being resolved not to change it.

JESUS PREDECIDEDJesus knew who He was and what He was set to do.

It would cost Him his life, He would die in the most painful way, but He would save the world – all becasue he was determined to follow through, having made a firm decision and remaining resolved to follow through with it.

Scholars estimate that Jesus fulfilled between 300 and 570 prophecies in the Old Testament.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord ’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.

Nothing Would change his decisions and He was determined to find the way of fulfilling them… At any cost…

Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where he was tempted by the devil for forty days. Jesus ate nothing all that time and became very hungry…

THE RESOLVE

Then Jesus returned to Galilee, filled with the Holy Spirit’s power. Reports about him spread quickly through the whole region. He taught regularly in their synagogues and was praised by everyone. When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures. The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come. ” He rolled up the scroll, handed it back to the attendant, and sat down. All eyes in the synagogue looked at him intently. Then he began to speak to them. “The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!”

Mapping Our Decisions to Jesus’ Mind…

We don’t live life discovering what we believe, we decide what we believe and live life accordingly.

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!

WE ARE NOT GREAT DECISION MAKERS

We may think we are, but a for a decision to be good, it must actually have the pre-determined outcome or impact.

Why Do We Struggle to Make Good Decisions?

We’re overwhelmed with choices.We’re afraid of making a wrong choice.We let emotions overrule logic. We shouldn’t make permanent decisions based on temporary emotions.

The quality of our decisions determines quality of our lives.

It’s about pre-deciding and then following through with determination.Determination to do what you have decided to do, even when it is tough, will focus our attention, will procrastinate procrastination, and will help us make less emotional, circumstancial decisions.

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

—Proverbs 16:3

With God’s help, we will—Determine our course of action before the moment of decision.

POWERFUL OUTCOMES

Decisions determine direction—Direction determines destiny.

If your life is moving in the direction of your decisions, do you like the direction your decisions are taking you?

Too Busy Being Afraid

The greatest enemy to the life you want (supernatural) may be the life that you’re living (natural).

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

Satan does not have to get us to sin to drift from our resolve to live in the presence of God. He just has to get us to be too busy.

A life lived too busy is a life lived in fear…

Now, the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. The Fear of Missing Out. FOMOThe Fear of our Past.

We get so busy running from something OR we get too busy running to something.

It’s amazing how busy we are being afraid.

Examples: Security systems, investments, relationships to avoid loneliness, eating disorders, paranoia…

Too busy to take a moment and read the moment.Too busy to make decisions from a place of peace.

JESUS NEVER SPENT A MOMENT IN FEAR

THE WAY OF LOVE

Being IN God, we are IN love!

Being loved by God is different than trying to love Him.

Trying to love Him puts us into a mindset of doing, structuring, striving, working, all in the name of love.

Our love is best expressed by reflecting God.

The greatest identifying mark of a disciple is love. “By this all will know that you are my disciples if you have love among yourselves.

If you reflect the characteristics of God amongst yourselves – Not the characteristics of the things we prioritize (no matter how genuine) or the things that seem to be worshipful or religious practices (clanging symbol), we are in fact walking out what is His good, pleasing and perfect will.

LOVE REQUIRES SACRIFICE TO BE GODLY

Our Response To God’s Love is our Faith in His Sacrifice.

The World is transactional – we are sacrifical.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

A Space of Genuine Love of Others

Church is for everyone to encounter Jesus and be changed by Him. and Him alone! We don’t decide who gets exposed we don’t decide how Jesus will change them. We keep pointing people to Jesus.

We can not welcome people in if our front door is narrow and our back door is wide.

Judgement narrows our porch, and offense broadens our yard.

We have to make it easy to arrive, engage, stick around, belong, find purpose, and get involved.

We focus on Jesus to SEE the example.

F – FOLLOWO – OBEYC – CALLEDU – USE GOD’s WORDS – SPIRIT LED

But there is seeing the example, and then there is FOLLOWING the example.

Just as much as we focus on Jesus to see Him, hear Him call us, feel His forgiveness, and sense the Spirit guiding us, we must concentrate on WHAT His example is an example of.

An example is not an example unless it is not copied.

The enemy of focusing on Jesus is our comfort.

The enemy of FOLLOWING Jesus’ example is distraction.

The Solution to Distraction

So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

—Matthew 6:31-34

The solution to distraction is to prioritize the Kingdom.

The King came to set an example of what it looked like for people to operate in His Kingdom.

And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him.

Move from Focus to Faith

Jesus is the same and still invites present-day disciples similarly: “Follow Me and I will make you…”

He calls us to FOCUS.

To do that we respond in that we FOLLOW Him, OBEY His advice, believe we are good enough to be CALLED, USE His Words, and allow ourselves to be SPIRIT-LED.

OUR AIRPractically, we respond daily by seeking the APPLICATION of His Word, living INSPIRED by His promises, and seeking REVELATION of the Father through Him.BUT HE CALLS US TO DO AS HE DID

The Balance of Character (Breath In) and Deeds (Breath Out)

The example of Jesus was how he fed His character AND helped others.

“Faith without deeds is dead.”

LIVING OUT THE EXAMPLE – The Same AIR

He needs us to live ready to:1. Apply his example to other people’s situations.2. Inspire those around us with hope.3. Reveal Him to others through our lives.

To follow Him, we need to know where He is going and what he does when he arrives.

The Parable of the Lost Sheep

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

Wrong place and a right place

Shepherd – One sheep in the wrong place and 99 sheep in the right place.

Women – One coin in the wrong place and nine coins in the right place.

Father – One son in the wrong place and one son in the right place.

Which one of these two categories gets Jesus’s primary focus?

The shepherd’s primary focus is on – that which is lostThe woman’s primary focus is on – that which is lostThe father’s primary focus is on – that which is lost

Jesus’ primary focus is on that which is lost.That’s where he is going.

Then Jesus tries to show us that if we seek the kingdom, we must go where he goes and do what he does.

Follow Him, not only to church on Sunday but to seek and save that which is lost.

You have no idea what might happen when you start taking steps in this direction.

We can’t keep our distance.

But Peter followed Him at a distance to the high priest’s courtyard. And he went in and sat with the servants to see the end.

The longer the distance in our following of Jesus, the more our focus will be on ourselves, not the lost.

The closer we get to following Jesus, the more we will focus on the lost, not ourselves.

What does Jesus do when He gets there?

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, and he has anointed me to be hope for the poor, healing for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind, and to preach to prisoners, ‘You are set free!’ I have come to share the message of Jubilee, for the time of God’s great acceptance has begun.

Focused on Who?

Understanding who we are focused on draws us into the person of Jesus and the heart of the Father.

Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

Your impact on this community will not be made by how long you have known Jesus, but by when last you were transformed by Him!

Before we can be the church that Jesus returns for, we must be the disciples Jesus calls for.

Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.

We have to FOCUS.

F – FOLLOW

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him.

We are not called to simply believe in or acknowledge our savior. Jesus calls us to live how He lived, love how He loved, and do what He did!

To be disciples, we have to follow the character of our teacher and the deeds of our master.

To follow means that we are willing to go where Jesus went but live our lives according to where Jesus is.

O – OBEY

Jesus said, ‘If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love.’

Obedience gets us focused on the who of the gospel, not the who of our comfort.

We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.” Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than men!

Obey God completely & immediately.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.

If we find God’s commands burdensome, then we are obedient to the wrong WHO.

C – CALLED

Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.

Calling is as much who you are becoming as it is what you are doing.

Calling isn’t about something important you do in the future, it’s about your faithfulness to Jesus today.

The moment you step into your calling you step out of your comfort.The biggest enemy of calling is comfort. Never sacrifice your calling on the altar of comfort.

God often uses our deepest pain to launch our greatest calling!

For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.

God does not need to recall you. We have to reclaim our calling.

We constantly pray for you that our God may make you worthy of his calling and that by his power, he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you!

You are called HEAVENWARD.

OPENING STORY: IRENA SENDLER

In the early 1900s, a young woman named Irena Sendler lived in Warsaw, Poland. During World War II, when the Nazis occupied Poland and implemented the Jewish ghetto system, Irena worked as a social worker and used her position to help Jewish families.

Risking her own life, Irena joined an underground organization called Zegota and began smuggling Jewish children out of the ghettos. She would go into the ghettos, often disguised as a nurse or carrying a toolbox, and convince families to let her take their children to safety.

Irena devised a remarkable system to keep track of the children she rescued. She wrote down their real names and placed them in jars, burying them in a friend’s garden. If the Nazis ever captured her, she hoped that the children’s true identities could be revealed, allowing them to be reunited with their families after the war.

In total, Irena is estimated to have saved around 2,500 Jewish children from the horrors of the Holocaust. Sadly, in 1943, she was arrested by the Nazis and brutally interrogated. Despite the torture, she never revealed any information about the children or her underground activities.

Irena was sentenced to death, but members of Zegota managed to bribe a German soldier, and she was released. Irena went into hiding until the end of the war, and after Poland was liberated, she dug up the jars with the children’s names and tried to locate their families. Sadly, many had perished in the Holocaust, but Irena was able to reunite some survivors with their loved ones.

Irena’s story remained largely unknown until a group of students from Kansas discovered her heroic actions in 1999. They wrote a play about her, and Irena’s story gained international recognition. She was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, and although she didn’t win, her legacy lives on as a symbol of courage, compassion, and selflessness in the face of unimaginable evil.

Irena Sendler’s incredible bravery and determination to save the lives of innocent children in the darkest of times serve as a reminder of the power of the human spirit.

The human heart is the most deceitful of all things and desperately wicked. Who knows how bad it is?

It is so powerful that it needs to be guarded, curated, checked, and managed.

Dallas Willard: The human heart, will, or spirit is the executive center of human life. The heart is where decisions and choices are made for the whole person. That is its function.

The decisions and choices of the heart define our character.

Our character forms the essence of who we are. It is shaped by our exposure to the work of the Holy Spirit, which transforms us and reflects the character of Christ. However, as we navigate the world and encounter different ideologies, our character can become vulnerable to shifting and cracking.

The Heart is the control center for our spirit. 1. Beliefs in our minds sometimes translate into actions.

When our heart truly believes, our actions align with our beliefs.

To guard your heart means to keep Jesus as the source of your motivation.

Keeping what He has done, what he has placed inside of you, as precious and not to be corrupted.

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth…” “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal.

INVITED

Ever felt? Unwanted—Unworthy—Undeserving—Unwelcome?

The world motivates you to step into your purpose from a place of rejection and hurt, but Jesus asks you to do so from a place of acceptance.

Allowing Jesus to Disciple you toward your kingdom purpose means you have to be willing to surrender your weaknesses to him through the power of vulnerability.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

But he answered me, “My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.” So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me. So I’m not defeated by my weakness, but delighted! For when I feel my weakness and endure mistreatment—when I’m surrounded with troubles on every side and face persecution because of my love for Christ—I am made yet stronger. For my weakness becomes a portal to God’s power.

When our flesh strives for purpose, We lie to cover over our hurt, we shrink to the back of the room, or we become the loudest at the party.

But you are invited to start living your salvation, not just acquiring it!

Jesus invites the people others reject. (He called the call girl – Luke 7)

We accept that invitation through our continual repentance.

INSPIRED

The Holy Spirit is our divine source of inspiration, guiding us through life’s journey with His gifts.

You are inspired, not invisible!

1 Corinthians 12:4-7

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

Through His gifts, the Holy Spirit equips us to serve others, spreading love, wisdom, and grace, inspiring us to live a life that reflects His divine presence.

You are inspired the moment you accept the invitation!

You only become invaluable when you become teachable…

You only become INVALUABLE when you accept the INVITATION and submit to the Holy Spirit’s INSPIRATION.

Matthew 5:13-16

You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Influence is not about your platform. It’s about the people.

Influence is not always instant, and it is not always obvious.

Just because you don’t see the harvest doesn’t mean the seed didn’t take root!

Don’t have to have your life altogether to influence someone for Jesus.

Your weakness and hurt can become your passion and someone else’s inspiration.

You have no idea how much one conversation, one word of

encouragement, one expression of love might change someone’s life.

Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them and where thieves break in and steal.

Our God has created us to pour, not store!

Those who are invested in their purpose stop at nothing to see others invited to participate in the destiny-shaping journey of discipleship.

The unity of the saved debunks the accusations of the lost.

MATTHEW CHAPTER SIXTEEN AND VERSE NINETEEN

END TIMES CONFUSION

In these times, hypocrisy, judgment, segregation, hate, religious dogma, lack of understanding, and many other negative labels have been levied at the Church. We don’t live in an environment where the Church is generally relevant or effective in meeting people where they need to be met. By and large, the Church, in response to its low attendance numbers and its failing finances, responds with marketing ploys and programs to draw people back to church (not the lack of capitalization). Our job is to demonstrate the King and His Kingdom AND LET HIM BRING THE RESULTS THAT THE KINGDOM BRINGS.

“So above all, constantly seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness, then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.” Matthew 6:33-34 TPT

We make moment-by-moment decisions that keep us focused on the KINGDOM! Our focus on the Kingdom is our testimony.

THE KEYS TO THE KINGDOM

And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Matthew 16:19 NKJV

Keys represent privilege, trust, and authority. When a teenager receives the keys to the family car, a distinct turning point has been reached. Growth, preparedness, training, and trust converge in releasing this expensive and potentially dangerous vehicle into the care and use of a son or daughter. It’s a big day and a weighty moment, for the authority granted could be as destructive as beneficial. Is the child ready? Are you ready to unlock the Kingdom’s impact on your life? The responsibility is not only the effect of that Kingdom in your life but the lives of those around you!

It is dangerous if we get it wrong, with the Church creating more religious damage than good. It would be incredible if these keys unlock our passions and abilities to see people’s lives transformed.

When Jesus said He would give His disciples “the keys of the kingdom of heaven,” He based it on each one’s coming to the same place of understanding Peter had reached when he said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (v. 16).

In other words, “the keys” are given to people who fully recognize Jesus as their King and yield to His rule as the mandate for their lives. Then, the full force of the Kingdom imparts gifts, talents, and moments that we will be used as representatives of the Kingdom to others.

THE FULL GOVERNANCE AND FORCE OF THE KINGDOM CAN NOT BE RELEASED INTO A SELF-SERVING ENVIRONMENT!

As keys give access, Jesus opens new arenas of possibility for us. As keys verify trust, Jesus entrusts arenas of service to us. And just as keys IGNITE, LOCK, and LOOSE, Christ sends us to people and circumstances waiting to be ‘turned on,’ ‘bound to,’ and ‘set free’ to the things of Heaven.

“ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN”

THE SIX KEYS THAT WILL IGNITE, LOCK, LOOSE

In the heart of every Christian lies the desire to lead a life that aligns with the teachings of Jesus Christ. But that desire, however good, is only fulfilled once we represent Jesus to someone else! The Bible, as the foundational text of Christianity, provides invaluable guidance on how Kingdom principles should govern a Christian’s life.

These principles serve as a compass, directing believers toward a life of love, righteousness, and service to God and others. Let’s explore some key Kingdom principles from Scripture that will release Heaven to Earth – “Let Your Kingdom Come!”

1. Seek First the Kingdom of God – PRIORITIZE KINGDOM THINKING

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus implores his followers, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” This verse reminds us that our priorities should revolve around God’s Kingdom and His righteousness. Our primary focus should be advancing the Kingdom of God in all we do.

2. Love Your Neighbor as Yourself – GIVE UP SELFISHNESS

In Matthew 22:39, Jesus commands, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” This principle underscores the importance of selfless love and compassion. Christians are called to treat others with the same care and respect they desire for themselves. It’s a Kingdom principle that fosters unity, forgiveness, and empathy.

3. The Beatitudes: Blessed Are… GROW YOUR KINGDOM IDENTITY

The Sermon on the Mount, found in Matthew 5:3-12, contains the Beatitudes, which outline the characteristics and attitudes blessed by God. These include humility, meekness, a hunger for righteousness, and peacemaking. Embracing these Kingdom principles leads to spiritual fulfillment and reflects Christ’s nature.

4. The Great Commission… GET GOING BY GENUINELY LOVING OTHERS

In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commissions his disciples to “Go and make disciples of all nations.” This Great Commission underscores the importance of spreading the Gospel and sharing the Kingdom principles with the world. Christians are called to be ambassadors of God’s Kingdom, sharing the message of salvation.

5. Bearing the Fruits of the Spirit… GIVE HIM TO OTHERS

Galatians 5:22-23 lists the fruits of the Spirit as love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These qualities should manifest in every Christian’s life, demonstrating the Holy Spirit’s transformative power and the Kingdom’s influence.

6. Be Doers of the Word… DO WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS

James 1:22 reminds believers, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” Kingdom principles require action, not just words. Christians are called to live out their faith through deeds of love, justice, and righteousness.

Living by Kingdom principles is not a mere aspiration but a lifelong journey for Christians. These principles provide a solid foundation for navigating life’s challenges, relationships, and purpose. By seeking God’s Kingdom, loving others selflessly, and embodying the values of the Beatitudes, Christians can fulfill their divine calling to be lights in a world in need of God’s grace and love. Through adherence to these principles, believers can experience the abundant life promised by Jesus and help bring the Kingdom of God closer to reality on Earth.

God said, ‘You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.’” “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” Genesis 3:1-5 NLT

DOCTRINAL WAR – THE ATTACK ON THE CHURCH

Satan the Devil wants us to take things out of context and become unbalanced around spiritual matters because that creates his ultimate desire – confusion and division. It is why the Apostle Paul said these direct and harsh words:

And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them. Romans 16:7 NLT

Spiritual warfare is not only about demons and spirits, it is more often than not our inability to guard ourselves and keep to the bond of peace, stay united with the promptings of the Holy Spirit, and avoid confusion around the basis of our relationship with God – Jesus.

Here are some doctrines/concepts that have incredible power at the time of the end but, when used out of context, have created the biggest schisms in the church (the most significant attacks against the body of Christ):

Sin: Once saved, always saved, or lose your salvation?

Heaven and Hell: Confusion results in Judgementalisim or Universalism

Prosperity: Confusion results in Name it and Claim it Theologies or Gold Dust Peddlars.

Grace: Earned eternity or Get away with murder theology?

Holy Spirit: Conscience-free living or spiritually induced convulsions?

Sovereignty: Pawns on a chess board or free will?

All of the above is a spiritual attack against the very character of God, not our situation, circumstance, or person. The ultimate goal of a spiritual attack is to weaken or confuse our ability to relate to God. It’s about life with God!

The book of Job defines how Satan attacked the righteous. He attacked the PHYSICAL to question Job’s SPIRITUAL relationship with God. But the one space that Satan does not have control of is our minds (souls).

“Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28 NLT

HE ATTACKS YOU TO GET TO THE CHURCH

Satan is very aware of our contribution to the body of Christ. As such, he goes after the church doctrinally and individuals emotionally.

He can only attack us through depression, identity, and self-worth when we allow what we see, taste, hear, or smell to define us. He does not have the power to CONVINCE your Christ-oriented mind that you are a loser. Our identity CONFUSION gets us to do that!

He causes moral and value confusion. His most significant attacks result in our confusion and disunity. And he uses our physical and flesh-trained eyes to upset our identity and authority.

THE WEAPONS

Our job is not to attack Satan (that has been done and finished) but to defend ourselves against his fiery darts penetrating our souls. Our biggest weapons are:

PEACE OF MIND PEACE involves your entire soul being at rest (2 Corinthians 2:13) because you’re trusting God (Isaiah 26:3) and presenting your concerns in every situation to God in prayer (Philippians 4:6-7). True peace of mind comes from God rather than from anyone or anything in the world (John 14:27)

GOD-ORIENTED WISDOM God gives us WISDOM from above and the Holy Spirit, who dwells within each Christian. The Holy Spirit reveals divine wisdom to us in a variety of ways. The Spirit grants wisdom through Scripture. The Spirit helps us to know Christ, who embodies divine wisdom. The Spirit also gives gifts of wisdom to guide us in the daily challenges of work and life. We have access to “wisdom from above” because we have the Spirit from above within us. Asking for wisdom is our submission to the Holy Spirit (James 1:5 NLT)

DIVINELY INSPIRED IDENTITY God, however, is UNCHANGING. He is reliable. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If you find your identity in Him, you will never be trapped by confusion or disconnected from Him because He has proven time and time again to be trustworthy. Start here! Your identity is pivotal in being ready to go to war.

Synonyms of deliverance

1: the act of delivering someone or something: the state of being delivered

especially: LIBERATION, RESCUE

2: something delivered or given to

especially: an opinion or decision (such as the verdict of a jury) expressed publicly

We are delivered TO peace, wisdom, and a God-given identity! This is His opinion or decision. Any other decision or opinion is an attack on you!

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. Ephesians 6:13-18 NLT

Harnessing the Power of God’s Prophetic PersonalityFunction vs. Relationship

The commands of God before Jesus were referred to as the law.

…became a practice and a religion that eroded and did not enhance people’s relationship with God.

…promoted a task-driven function that placed people in a pecking order based on their degree of performing the function.

The adjudication of how well you did the function was judged by an establishment of those who created the function.

And all this was done under the guise of obeying the law and God.

In many instances, only a little has changed. We still claim relational elements of our faith, like grace, mercy, and forgiveness, but we walk in function and judgment.

When we walk in obedience to function alone, we are walking in disobedience to how our relational God created us.

The most profound form of disobedience is not disobedience to law or function but disobedience to the wonder of the personality of God.

Example: Speeding ticket vs. treason

The Fall Of Man

Genesis and the fall of man demonstrated not disobedience to a law (eat of the fruit) but to a relationship (when God sought Adam, he hid).

Disobedience to our relationship with God breeds dysfunction in our lives.

Here is why…

In John 4:24, Jesus states, “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

We respond to God through His personality, not His laws.

Our worship is based not on a set of laws but on divine personality traits.

John 14:6

Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one may come to the Father except through me.” – John 14:6

“Man’s way to reach God is religion, but God’s way to reach man is Jesus.”

Jesus is the very expression of God’s personality – “the Word became flesh.”

Obedience to his commands as a function vs. obedience to His commands as a relationship.

Romans 8:6

So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

Function is Flesh – Man made (death), but relationship is spiritual – God’s personlity (life).

Being spiritual is simply being in love with and expressing the personlity of God.

Religion is our way of taking authority over our eternity.

We are expressing authority in a space where we do not have charge.

Eternity is not a function of living forever; it is a relationship with a God who is eternal.

We don’t get to be the divine personality that governs the universe; we get to mirror it.

Our authority comes from displaying His personality, not expressing our own.

The world will tell you that’s a human rights infringement.

The balance of our faith requires us to be in a relationship with the unseen and to embrace the unknown with confidence in Him and who He is. (FAITH)

Faith vs. Religion

Operating in religion is operating in knowledge and not faith. Faith is trusting God in the unknown. Religion is about limiting the unknown through control.

Romans 4:4-5

“Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness.”

God wants us to pursue Him and His personality. Religious function kills this life-giving intimacy.

Relational Obedience

We are obedient to Him because it’s what fits. It makes sense at a level we can not explain. It’s because it is more familiar to our psyche than what we think.

We were made by Him to be like Him.

We are made by a God with life as a personality trait, not a function.

The highest level of obedience is allowing His personality to become our guide and to allow that expression to have the greatest volume in our lives.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord . “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Plans are tangible, but we should long for the elements of His personality.

His personality expressed brings hope and a future – that is the plan!

He made us in His image to become an expression of that image.

His prophetic personality has been placed within each one of us. Christians are called to carry God’s prophetic word and personality.

The gift of the prophetic is our expression of His personality in our everyday lives.

His personality speaks to our future and not our past.

His personality is about what is yet to come (assured expectation).

To express His personality, we have to operate as prophetic people. This is what the church needs to be. A collection of people expressing God’s personality in every area of life.

The prophetic gift is not simply something we express from time to time when the spirit moves, but rather something that is lived daily through every one of us – the highest level of worship.

Gossip is about what someone HAS done, not who they are becoming through Jesus. Gossip expresses not God’s prophetic personality (spirit) but our flesh (function).

Self-doubt is about what you think you can not do and not what you can do through Jesus. That’s not an expression of God’s prophetic personality (spirit) but of our flesh (function).

We must admit we have become trapped in our personality flaws and not the wonder of the prophetic personality of God.

THE INVITATION

It is a divine invitation to partner with God in speaking life, truth, and transformation into the lives of those around us.

OUR RESPONSE

Understanding Our Identity as Prophetic PeopleCreated in the image of a prophetic God: We are made in the image of a God who speaks and creates through His Word. The expression of His prophetic personality is a reflection of this divine attribute.Receiving the indwelling of the Holy Spirit: Through the Holy Spirit, we have access to the mind of Christ and the ability to hear God’s voice. This empowers us to prophesy, encourage, and edify others through our expression of what the Holy Spirit reveals to us about His personality. II. Cultivating Intimacy with God

Prayer and Worship: Intimacy with God is vital for developing prophetic sensitivity. Dedicate regular time to seek His presence, pray, and worship. In His presence, we learn to discern His voice more clearly.Studying the Word: The Bible is God’s living word and the foundation of our prophetic understanding. Study and meditate on Scripture to align our hearts and minds with God’s truth. III. Hearing God’s Voice

Stillness and Silence: In the busyness of life, we must create moments of stillness and silence to hear God’s voice. Silence distractions and tune our hearts to the gentle whisper of His Spirit.Confirmation and Discernment: Test and discern the prophetic words we receive through Scripture, godly counsel, and prayer. Seek confirmation from trusted spiritual leaders before sharing prophetic insights. IV. Speaking Life and Encouragement

Edifying Others: Let our words be filled with love, encouragement, and affirmation. The prophetic personality is not about predicting the future alone but primarily about building up the body of Christ.Exercising Prophecy with Humility: Share prophetic words (words that display God’s personality) with humility, recognizing that we see in part and that others may have additional insights. Prophesy in love, allowing room for God’s timing and wisdom. V. Stepping Out in Faith

Boldness and Obedience: Step out in faith to share the prophetic insights we receive. Trust in God’s leading and timing, even when it feels uncomfortable or uncertain.Expectant Faith: Believe that when we release God’s prophetic word, it carries the power to transform lives, bring healing, and release breakthroughs. Expect God to work mightily through our obedience. Conclusion:

Expressing God’s prophetic personality is not limited to a select few; it is an invitation extended to all believers.

Let us embrace this divine calling with humility (the greatest enemy of religion), seeking to be vessels through whom God’s voice flows.

By cultivating intimacy with God, hearing His voice, speaking life, and stepping out in faith, we can harness the power of His prophetic personality, and He will bring about transformation in our lives and the lives of others.

May the Holy Spirit empower us to walk boldly in His prophetic identity for the glory of God and the expansion of His kingdom.

Why This Series?

The world is trying to rip us apart.Protest groups, promotion of self-identifying thoughts, critical race theories, binary vs. non binary, gender descriptors, all in the name of acceptance crush life giving unity. Humanity has produced some of the most divisive regimes ever known.

When our world is divided, and people are hurting, what’s our responsibility as followers of Christ? Where do we even start? In this series, we’ll learn how we can embrace the role God wants us to play in key areas and relationships that will bring unity and healing. In the realm of God’s direction both diversity (all nations and tongues) and unity co-exist to produce harmony.

Jesus knew that true peace and harmony would only happen in the natural if we were united supernaturally TOGETHER with God.

THE POWER OF UNITY

Unity is a common topic in the Bible, promoting the peacefulness of living unified in harmony.

The solidarity, confidence, endurance, unity, and stability in all our relationships comes only from our solidarity, confidence, endurance, unity, and stability in our relationship with God.

The world works in connection with the enemy by offering a fabricated sense of community, or unhealthy forms of community that render us powerless and broken.

PROVERBS 18:1

A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; He rages against all wise judgment.

This is why the enemy attacks community in an outright assault to push you into isolation, or tries to distract us with a fabricated sense of community, or perverts our desire and need for community by getting us into unhealthy forms of community.

The enemy uses every tactic and temptation he has against us to push us away from God and disconnect you from healthy community.

When the community of family fails, when the community of friends fail, when a community of the church fails, we carry deep seated hurt and we pull back, retract and isolate our heart burying our vision and purpose in unforgiveness and hurt that most often results in us blaming God.

Satan attacks our community with one another to distort our purpose and blur our vision by undermining our relationship with God. __________________________________________________ The world calls God non-existent and community crumbles. We call God supreme and our unity surges!

God has put it into the fabric of our humanity to live in community, and for life to be at its best (reaching our full potential, purpose and vision), it means for us to be in life TOGETHER with Him (communion) and with others (community).

Walking out our vision and purpose requires genuine community. True Community in turn requires communion with God.

Our ability to be THE body of Christ, has the POWER to unlock purpose and vision that conquers even the gates of Hell. __________________________________________________

The Path of UnityIf we are on the path with Jesus, we are supernaturally bound to others on that path.

Difference between a peacekeeper and a peacemaker.

A peacekeeper is tasked to keep external peace but the peacemaker is primarily concerned with internal peace.

Peacekeepers are stationed across the world seeking to provide an environment that fosters the absence of all conflict. But biblically guided peacemakers seek to align their mission with that of Jesus’ desire for us.

Walking out our future

Jesus commissioned his disciples. He had a plan and purpose for their future that would impact the world. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:42-47)

Whenever Jesus calls, He purposes.

That’s because the very nature of Jesus is prophetic and has an eternal plan!

We have a future because Jesus has already changed our past. Our response to His Grace is our in-the-moment lifestyle choices.

The Jesus of our Past

He has healed

He has saved

He has made us more than conquerors

He has restored our authority

He has declared us victorious, holy, and righteous.

“Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm has already been lavished upon us as a love gift from our wonderful heavenly Father, the Father of our Lord Jesus—all because he sees us wrapped into Christ. This is why we celebrate him with all our hearts!”

Everything God is going to do for us has already been done in us!

Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Our past is defined by our current moment. The future is defined by our past.

We have to choose Jesus in our moments to activate that which he has already done to become the reality of our future!

Fear of our future gets us to do crazy things in the moment. And because we do crazy things in the moment, our past becomes crazy. And with a messed up past, the fear of the future turns more and more moments into craziness.

The Fear Spiral vs Godly Fear

1. Fear of failure

Jesus gives you a new purpose and community.

Matthew 16:17-19 TPT

Jesus replied, “You are favored and privileged Simeon, son of Jonah! For you didn’t discover this on your own, but my Father in heaven has supernaturally revealed it to you. I give you the name Peter, a stone . And this rock will be the bedrock foundation on which I will build my church— my legislative assembly , and the power of death will not be able to overpower it! I will give you the keys of heaven’s kingdom realm to forbid on earth that which is forbidden in heaven, and to release on earth that which is released in heaven.”

2. Fear of other people’s opinions

God gives you a new name.

The nations will see your righteousness. World leaders will be blinded by your glory. And you will be given a new name by the Lord’s own mouth.

3. Fear of loss. (Phil 3:13-14)

God gives you a new future.

Philippians 3:14 TPT

I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.

Placing faith in the Jesus of the past (in the moment) changes our purpose, our reputation, and our future.

That makes Jesus in our current moment pivotal for a better future. He removes the fears created by the regrets of our past and the reputation of our failures.

Overcoming Fear

Choosing today what Jesus did in our past will remove the fear of tomorrow.

1. We choose to forgive – past, present, and future.

The greatest moment is when you can forgive. Unforgiveness hurts you!

Hebrews 12:15 TPT

Watch over each other to make sure that no one misses the revelation of God’s grace. And make sure no one lives with a root of bitterness sprouting within them which will only cause trouble and poison the hearts of many.

Grace – Being willing to forgive even before it is needed.

2. Be a peacemaker

Apologize to those whom you have hurt- attitudes and actions. Don’t make excuses.

Matthew 5:9 TPT

How joyful you are when you make peace! For then you will be recognized as a true child of God.

3. Get past your personal failures

Failure is not a person but an event!

Philippians 3:13 TPT

I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however, I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead.

Choosing God in the moment is Godly fear. A fear that displaces natural, debilitating fear.

Fear of what our frail expectation has in the unseen future.

Faith is an assurance of hope for the unseen future.(Hebrews 11:1)

Our Posture Towards Jesus

When we needed hope and joy – Jesus is our king, born in a stable, coming to be with us.When we needed salvation, Jesus is the Son of God on the cross, taking our sins.

When we needed to overcome fear, even the fear of death, Jesus rises from the dead.When we needed to have a heavenly hope, Jesus presents himself, returning to the Heavens.

When we need to have supernatural gifts to miraculously spread the gospel, we see Jesus sending the Holy Spirit.

Jesus, the Anointed One, is always the same—yesterday, today, and forever.

Who Jesus was to us in the past, present and future.

In the book of Revelation, John outlines the posture we will need to take as we rush headlong toward His final return.

God replied to Moses, “ I Am Who I Am . Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.”

The immutability of Jesus Christ!Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”

The Greek word for the “same” emphatically states that Jesus Christ is unchangeable!

The word “yesterday” is the Greek word exthes, and it depicts all time that ever was up until this present moment. It describes the past.

The word “today” is the Greek word , and it means today or at this very moment , or this current age. It depicts the present.

In the Bible, when the words “yesterday and today” are used in one phrase, it also portrays continuity. (Exodus 5:14 -slave foreman)

There is continuity in Jesus Christ! Therefore, if you discover Jesus of the past, you have also discovered Jesus of the present, and you have discovered Jesus of the future because He is continuously the same.

The word “forever” in Greek means into all the ages of the future. This phrase depicts all future times to come, including all ages that will ever be known. Hence, it describes the future.

Hebrews 13:8 carries this idea:“Jesus Christ is exactly the same in the past, in the present, and in the future.”

God is unchanging, but we, as humans, do change. We grow in the good things and grow in the not-so-good things.

What really matters is knowing that even though we are changing, Jesus never has, nor will he ever change.

OUR JESUS

This is what gives His Word so much power in our lives when we orientate our lives in obedience to who He was and who He is. It is not as much about Him never changing, but that because of who He was and is, we can have assurance about the future.

We don t need a prophetic word to tell us that Jesus will care for us. We don’t need a vision of the future to know He is victorious.

Once a redeemer, always a redeemer.Once a healer, always a healer.Once a speaker of truth, always the truth.Once the King of kings, always the King of kings.

THE STRENGTH OF BEING FEARLESS

To gain this assurance. To rid our ourselves of the fear of the future that seems to grip mankind, we have to know who he was. Who He was is what He said He was. The Word He spoke. We are obedient to who He was, what He said, and the Word He spoke.

We are obedient to what was shown and revealed to us – The Word (John 1) by worshipping in the present moment (Spirit and Truth). Obedience and worship rid us of the fear that captures our flesh imaginations.

To turn the past of Jesus into our future with Him, needs an in-the-moment decision. (Next week)

Who He was, makes us who we are in Him. Who we are in Him is eternal and at peace.

OUR ROBUST JESUS

Isaiah 61:3 (NKJV)To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

This Hebrew Word had three meanings:

Robust – strength – Latin for not able to be underminedRam (food, sacrifice, skin dyed red for establishing a tabernacle) – Latin strength of flavor, smellChief – strong leader – Latin overcomer, conquerorMight -tree like that of an oak. – Latin endurance despite the difficulty.

Our strength comes from who He was, who he is and who he always will be.

Our strength, like that of a mighty oak tree, comes from our Chief, our King of Kings, who establishes our righteousness and declares us holy by sacrificially enduring the cross, overcoming our daily struggles, and conquering death by establishing a covenant, a tabernacle, a meeting place again for God and man so that we have confidence, eternity and supernatural power that can push back the darkness and display his glorious light.
