In so many ancient cultures, pregnancy and birth were looked at as completely normal and healthy time periods yet a bit fuss was made over the postpartum recovery journey.
In our modern societies, women are seen as delicate during pregnancy, in danger while giving birth...and then, basically dropped once the baby comes and expected to "get back to themselves" almost immediately.
