Family stands at the core of God's vision for heaven on earth. Drawing from Genesis 1:27-28, we uncover the profound truth that mankind was made in God's image, encompassing both male and female. The essence of the Holy Trinity - the Father, Son, and Spirit - is mirrored in the unified duality of man and woman. The term "mankind," derived from the Hebrew word "Adam," encapsulates the entirety of the human race. The depth of this relationship is further elaborated in Genesis 2:18-25, highlighting how Eve was formed from Adam and the intrinsic connection between man and woman.A deeper exploration of the Hebrew language reveals intriguing insights: The often-translated "rib" from which Eve was made can also mean "side," suggesting a divine act of division and creation. The initial directive from God to Adam and Eve emphasizes the importance of procreation and intimacy. Sexual closeness between a husband and wife was paramount in God's vision, even before the concept of earthly dominion. As stewards of the earth, God's decree is clear – to populate it abundantly, exercise control, and assert dominion over all living creatures. And at the foundation of this grand vision lies the unit of the family. Indeed, the pathway to heaven and manifesting God's vision on earth begins right at home. For a family, formed in love and unity, embodies the very essence of heaven. For more information, please visit TRPFamily.org.

Drawing from the sacred words of Mark 6:30-32, where the apostles gather around Jesus to seek a private place of rest, we explore the very essence of what it means to foster connections in a world filled with rejections and challenges. In this episode, we reflect on Jesus's own experiences of rejection, even from those he held closest - his family and friends. Understand that you are not alone when you feel distanced or cast aside by those you trust. The poignant reminder from Psalms 27:10 assures us that even when forsaken by our nearest, the Lord remains our unwavering support.Learn the importance of discerning true, intimate connections from superficial ones. Delve into the lessons Jesus shared with the twelve about handling rejection, encapsulated in the imagery of shaking off dust and maintaining peace. Beyond the 'click culture' and casual friendships, it prompts a deeper introspection: Who are our real connections? What bonds do we share – missional or resting? We cap off this spiritual journey by highlighting the church's role. This week we explore the profound concept of humility and its divine significance in our spiritual walk. Taking inspiration from Ephesians 4:1-6, we're reminded that to truly embrace God's grace and purpose, we must first foster a heart of humility. This message looks into the essential qualities like gentleness, patience, and love, highlighting how these virtues are fruitless without genuine humility at their core.

Renowned author C.S. Lewis once said, “True Humility Is Not Thinking Less of Yourself, It's Thinking of Yourself Less.” We have to ask what does true humility really mean? Our journey through the scriptures enlightens us with its profound definition and guides us on how to live in complete dependence on the Lord, devoid of self-reliance.

Moreover, drawing wisdom from Proverbs 15:33, we recognize that genuine humility stems from the reverential awe of God. It isn't about “fear” as we know it but the fear of the Lord which embraces wonder and worship in its purest form. This reverence for the Lord leads us to intentional humility, a path where God's grace awaits.

However, a word of caution lies in 1 Peter 5. For while humility invites God's grace, pride does the opposite. But what does it mean to humble oneself? How does humility lead to honor? And how can we, as a church, embody the unity in the spirit through humility?

Whether you're seeking to deepen your understanding of humility or yearn to integrate its virtues into your life, this episode holds the key. Join us, as we unite in our divine calling, paving the way for a congregation enriched in the Holy Spirit and bound in peace.

Welcome to "A People of Prayer." This episode draws inspiration from the powerful verses of Isaiah, offering a glimpse into God's design for us as His people. Have you ever pondered on who the "foreigners" are in Isaiah 56:6-7? The apostle Paul provides clarity, revealing a divine connection between these foreigners and the Gentiles in Ephesians. Dive deep into the sacred union of being joined with Christ, uncovering the importance of ministering to Him directly. From the Levites in the days of Moses and David to our own personal journeys today, we see the recurring theme of invoking God's presence, expressing heartfelt gratitude, and praising His true character. Prayer isn’t just about words; it's a direct line of service to the Lord, an act of love and commitment. To love "the name of the Lord" goes beyond mere utterance—it's about recognizing and magnifying His very character. Embrace the call to serve, to bless Him, and to transform into a resting place for the Mighty One. Light Illuminates - TRP South Tampa | Heather Jones by The Resting Place

View Details

Today, we’re embarking on a refreshing season of TRP. Moving from the identity of “I Am The Resting Place,” we now embrace the collective power of "WE ARE…" Guided by a vision, our founder Caleb Hyers paints the vivid picture of TRP as a massive boat, bolstered by multiple sails representing our various campuses. While every sail catches the wind differently, the Tampa Campus stands tall as the 'Main Sail'. After deep reflection, a decision has been made: the Tampa Campus will now host our principal teaching voice.

As we advance, we’re thrilled to recognize the invaluable contributions of our dedicated leaders, Erik and Joel. While we anticipate more campuses joining our fleet, each will have its distinct character, yet remain unified in spirit. Under the apostolic guidance of our lead teacher, every campus, though individual in its expression, will echo the same teachings each week, inspired by a central theme and scripture. This collaborative effort ensures that each voice resonates with its own anointing and passion.

Our inaugural theme? "WE ARE THE RESTING PLACE." Together, we seek answers to what it truly means to be a faith community enveloped by the Holy Spirit's fullness. Guided by Ephesians 2:19-22, we explore principles like Prayer, Humility, Intimate Connection, Bold Authenticity, and Devoted Worship.

Prayer remains our cornerstone, likened to the thread binding our sails. Without it, our journey is incomplete. Drawing inspiration from Isaiah 56:6-7 and Psalm 132:3-9, we underscore the significance of unwavering prayer in our community's heart.

Join us in this episode as we uncover the layers of our identity, destiny, and the powerful call to be a resting place for God's spirit. Subscribe, share, and let's grow together in faith and unity. 🙏🕊️🌟

God is love and Jesus is Lord. God is love but love is not God because we can create our own version of love. WE have to be aware because the enemy changes the meaning of words. Ib the church, we have to be careful that our terms are not getting a new definition. God defines love, love does not define God. Because God is love then love is Lord. The person of Jesus defines love for us.

In the book of Isaiah Chapter 6, Isaiah encounters the glory of God and immediately recognizes He is a man of unclean lips and lives amongst a people of unclean lips. The fire of the altar is used to remove Isaiah's guilt and sin then God raises Isaiah up as a prophet to deliver His word to the people of unclean lips.In the story of Jonah, there is also a similarity. God chooses an angry man to reach an angry people. It's not until Chapter 4 of the book of Jonah until we see the true reasons why Jonah did not want to go to Niniveh. Jonah knew the Lord was gracious, compassionate and abounding in love. The very thing you have called a weakness, sin and struggle in your life; is the very thing that God wants to use to draw others to Him.

For too long evangelism has been used with condemnation and fear tactics but when looking at Matthew 9:36; it states that Jesus was moved with compassion when he saw the crowds helpless and harassed, like sheep without a shepherd. God is raising up a generation that has not forgotten the compassion that He had on them. A people moved with compassion for the hurting and lost world. Evangelism is about finding the children of God that are lost and leading them to the Father's house.
