On the 27th of February, 2011, Sidney Sussex College held a day of lectures, exhibitions, music, and reading to celebrate the quatercentenary of the publication of the King James Bible. This collection brings together the four lectures by our distinguished speakers - John Morrill, David McKitterick, Kerry McCarthy, and Geoffrey Hill - with readings from the Bible in over two dozen languages, ancient and modern.

Clive Wilmer, poet and Fellow in English, introduces the events of the day and outlines the importance of the King James Bible in the history of the College and of the English language.
