Sometimes we as Christians think we are amune to such things as stronholds or maybe even addictions. The word of God tells us differently. In 2nd Corintians chapter 10 verses 3&4, Paul tells us that we walk in the flesh but we should not war in it. We have been equiped with the weapons that our saviour has devinely granted us to use against the powers of darkness.

Today pastor Terry helps define these two weapons that the devil tries to use against us. He will further go on to show us how to destroy them not in the flesh but rather in the spiritual realm in which satan dwells in.

Last week we learned that Jesus, as a human, was anointed with the HOLY SPIRIT. We discovered that after Jesus left this Earth, He gave the GIFT of the HOLY SPIRIT to us. As followers of Jesus we cannot live our lives as overcomers without the Holy Spirit’s fullness.

Today Pastor Terry will answer the question, how can we keep the anointing flowing? In the old testament in the book of 1st Kings chapter 17 verses 10-14, Elijah came upon a widow gathering sticks and asked her for a cup of water and bread. The widow told Elijah that she only had enough oil and flour to cook her last meal for her and her son.

Elijah, being anointed of God told the widow not to be afraid and cook some bread for him first and then what was left over prepare a meal for her and her son.

What happened next changed the life of the widow forever.

Today Terry will share 5 important bits of information we can take away from this story, and how we can test all of God’s promises throughout this year. Prep

Around the 1st of each year we here at Faith Outreach Center hold what we call our “Anointing Service”, but what really does this mean?

The word anointing has several meanings:

Ancient shepherds poured oil on the sheep’s head making it impossible for insects to get near the sheep’s ears. This, anointing became symbolisms of blessings, protection, and empowerment. Objects were anointed in the tabernacle just as God had commanded. Jesus was chosen to be our messiah, which literally means anointed one. He was to be CHOSEN, ANOINTED, CONSECRATED, and EMPOWERED all through the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Today Terry wants to remind us of God’s anointing upon each Christian so that we may be supernaturally equipped to accomplish God’s calling in our lives.

God Bless and prepare your hearts for this VERY special sermon.

What’s your idea of the Perfect Christmas? The perfect tree, the right gifts, or your favorite recipe?

God sent us the perfect Christmas through His son Jesus, but he used a lot of unlikely scenarios that could only be considered perfect in His context. A barren older couple, a young teenage virgin, a group of outcasts shepherds to be the first to hear the announcement of Jesus’ birth, and a doctor to document it perfectly in History.

Pastor Brenda Vogel will be presenting the third portion of our current sermon series, “Christmas Lessons”. We will see that Christmas isn’t all about the presents, lights, and the commercialization that we all have made it out to be, instead she will share with us what God views, is the true meaning of Christmas.

Join us now as Brenda presents a sermon she has entitled, “The Perfect Christmas”.

Christmas has been on the calendar all year long, but it still finds a way to creep up on us and put a kink our plans.

That very first Christmas was no exception, Marry & Joseph had to ride a donkey for some 90 miles to participate in a mandatory census. They got to Bethlehem and couldn’t find a place to stay – every room was booked. Adding to the whole mix, Marry went into labor and her baby boy was born in a stable!

We are continuing in our current series - “Christmas Lessons”, with today’s message entitled, “A Change of Plans”.

Terry will help us have a better understanding that no matter what we are facing we can face it with faith, hope and love.

In scripture, Jesus called one man His son. Why was this, and what prompted Him to do it.

Today we have the distinct honor to welcome back to FOC a very special pastor, mentor and most of all a friend to not only me but many others here in our congregation – Pastor Dan Mundt.

Dan along with his wife Cindy had served as the pastors of Faith Outreach Center for 16 years! He now leads the Heartland District of the Foursquare denomination of which he overseas the states of Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

Dan or as we so affectionately like to call him “PD”, will be presenting a very uplifting message this Father’s Day.

His subject matter will help us better understand why Jesus so caringly spoke of the paralyzed man in the book of Mark chapter 2 verses 1 – 12 as His son.

Let’s now join PD in a sermon he is entitling, “Jesus Called Him Son”.

Hebrews Chapter 11 is what is commonly referred to as the chapter of God’s champions of faith. Biblical heroes such as Samson, David and Gideon fill this portion of the text with great acts of courageousness.

Right in the middle of all these great and valiant warriors of faith we find three unlikely groups of people that unlike the preceding, performed what some might call trivial acts of bravery – they saved their families.

God wants us to know that when we fight for our families, God will fight for us.

Today we will learn about these three groups of families, what it is that God is calling us out to take a stand for, and why it is so important to guard our own families in this day of age.

Let’s draw a line in the sand and raise our swords as Pastor Terry shares a sermon he is calling, “Family Heroes” the second half of a message he spoke on a few weeks ago entitled, “Fight for Your Family”.

Hebrews Chapter 11 is what is commonly referred to as the chapter of God’s champions of faith. Biblical heroes such as Samson, David and Gideon fill this portion of the text with great acts of courageousness.

Last week Pastor Terry shared with us how God has a purpose for our commonplace life.

Terry picks up where he left off as he opens up the book of Romans chapter 12. We see here that God tells us that we are to give Him our every day ordinary life, and place it before Him as an offering. When we do this God will use us in extraordinary ways.

Today we will learn from the life of Joseph and how God took him from the pit to the palace all because he lived out his every day life for our Lord.

Let’s focus our attention towards Pastor Terry as he continues in his message “Made for Mondays – Part 2”.

The family is not an institution designed by man. It was created by God for the benefit of man, and man has been given stewardship over it.

Job was a man who counseled his family by spiritual instruction. We read in Job 1:5 that Job would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings for his entire family.

God made mention of Job when he stated that there was none like him in all the earth. Job fought hard for his family and knew that by leading his family into biblical truths, it was worth fighting for.

Today Pastor Terry will be presenting to us a single sermon on what we as Christians many times fail to do unless we are discouraged or in desperate need of help. PRAY!

What exactly is prayer? What can it do for us? & Why do we need it?

Through these questions Terry will outline the significance of prayer and contemplate what the Word of God Tells us about it.

Prayer is not something we should casually undertake but, rather it is speaking to God knowing that He wants to hear us verbally share our true reactions on the circumstances that we are going through. Knowing confidently that He will answer them in such a way that the Lord see’s fit for us.

Let’s prepare our hearts as Terry shares how God wants to encourage us in a sermon he is calling, “Learning From Jesus a Life of Prayer”.

Today Pastor Terry will share with us two more powerful names of God:

First he will share with us how many times, situations and circumstances impede our progress and prevent us from getting to where we’re trying to go. El Elyon, the Owner and Possessor of all things, can provide us another route.

Second he correlates how when a woman breast-feeds her baby, she supplies what the baby needs for life. Likewise, the root of the word Shaddai means to supply the nourishment that someone needs for life.

Today we continue where we left off when David wrote probably the most quoted psalm in the Bible.

Today we take note that there are places in Scripture that are so powerful, so deep, that to recite them is to experience them. The 23rd Psalm is where we will learn how God is our loving shepherd who will guide and protect us as the faithful provider for both our physical and spiritual needs.

Listen in as Pastor Terry continues in our current sermon series, "The Power of God's Names”. Terry will share with us that God is closer than you think in times of crisis, and we can rely on His strength through a message entitled, “Jehovah Rohi and Jehovah Jireh”.

The sacrificing of animals was never meant to be a permanent solution for the atonement of man’s sins and could not take away the root cause of the problem, the sin in human nature. Jesus, the Son of God, was the only one who could “stand in the gap,” fulfilling the purpose for which He came to this earth.

From the very time that sin entered into this world to this present moment, God has always had a plan. The cross of Calvary was a cruel instrument of death, but our God is greater than death and the grave. Through the Cross our lives have been redeemed so that we can be reborn and ultimately become completely restored with the God of this universe.

Let’s celebrate this the holiest of all days – Resurrection Sunday. Pastor Terry has entitled his message, “Redeemed, Reborn, Restored”.

Everybody has their view of what God looks like. If each of us tried our very best to draw God's identity, there would be countless expressions of how we would perceive Him.

In the Old Testament God prohibited His people from drawing or carving images of His likeness because people had a tendency of miss representing Him.

In the book of Psalms, David called upon God to use a righteous man to rebuke and discipline him. He asked that wise people would help restrain his lips, heart, and actions. He declared that he would treat these words offered to him in rebuke as the anointing of oil on his head, a courtesy shown a weary guest by a gracious host. He viewed the corrective words of the righteous as a refreshing gift from God.

David realized he needed to be held accountable by someone. He understood the spiritual discipline of accountability, and he humbly asked God to provide people in his life who could represent God and His interests.

If David needed others to hold him accountable, then how much more do we need people to hold us accountable?

Just like David, we need to begin to develop the discipline of accountability by admitting we need that accountability, and by being willing to listen to those people that God places in our lives.

Reading is primarily assimilation of facts without application. In other words, it’s for the gathering of information.

The Bible has always been the number one best selling book in the world. When we meditate on the Word of God, we seek to make personal application of the Scriptures to our own lives and circumstances. This results in more than the intake of information; it transforms by leading to the formation of the individual into Christlikeness.

The God who spoke in the beginning, “Let there be light...”, is the same God who came in the flesh and spoke to us through His words, that we may know that, “All scripture is … profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” as stated in 2 Timothy 3:16.

The Spiritual Discipline of simplicity is probably one of the harder disciplines to develop. There are so many conflicting messages about how we’re supposed to live, that keeping our faith simple gets lost.

How do we strip away all the complications to get back to living by the basics so that all the rest will just fall into place?

During our journey we all have opportunities to nurture our relationship with God. Strangely enough the bible never demands that we pray nor fast however, prayer and fasting is definitely something we should be doing.

Spending time in prayer and fasting is not automatically effective in accomplishing the desires of those who fast. Fasting or no fasting, God only promises to answer our prayers when we ask according to His will.

Every Thanksgiving is an annual reminder of our nation’s Christian roots. The Pilgrims began the tradition, and Presidents Washington and Lincoln made it an official holiday.

The details surrounding the Pilgrims were such that they had much to be grateful for.

The Pilgrims were a small assembly who secretly became a congregation in central England in 1606 when they formed a spiritual covenant with one another.

Because of persecution for those who would not conform with the Church of England, they emigrated to Holland for about 11 years. Eventually, they decided to come to British North America, to sail to the “Northern parts of Virginia,” after the permanency of the Jamestown settlement, so that they could worship Jesus Christ in total freedom.

The very first Thanksgiving in October of 1621 these pilgrims gave thanks to God for the freedoms they shared to worship Him without persecution.

Christian persecution is any hostility experienced from the world as a result of one’s identification as a Christian.

From verbal harassment to hostile feelings, attitudes and actions, Christians in areas with severe religious restrictions pay a heavy price for their faith. Beatings, physical torture, confinement, isolation, rape, severe punishment, imprisonment, slavery, discrimination in education and employment, and even death are just a few examples of the persecution they experience on a daily basis.

Pastor Terry will examine the atrocity of Christian persecution on a day that has been set aside to pray for them.

God seeks out those who love Him and love His commands so that He can bless, guide, and protect them.

This does not mean that everyone who is prosperous or healthy has found favor with God. Nor does it mean that those whom the Lord favors will never suffer difficulties.

Many people in the Bible had the Lord’s favor but also suffered hardship. Heroes such as Noah, Moses, Daniel, and Mary were favored of the Lord, but they also struggled with difficulties like anyone else.

Those who are favored of God know that God is with them and that nothing can happen to them apart from His good purpose. They have His ear as they walk through dark valleys and know that their struggle to remain true to Him will not go unrewarded.

It is ingrained in our minds for us to fit in with others, to be normal and not to stand out. We want to conform and strive to be happy.

Is that what God has called us to be? No, in fact it’s just the opposite. He has called us out of this world to be different. God wants us to stand out not fit in, to be transformed, set apart, and not conform to the patterns of this world.

To sum it up God has not called us to be happy, but rather to be holy.

The Roman shield, or scutum, was a central part of the soldier’s defense. The scutum was rectangular in shape and rounded on the ends. It was typically made from two sheets of wood that were glued together, then covered with canvas and leather. The canvas and leather could be doused with water to protect against flaming arrows.

The shield weighed about 22 pounds and was roughly 37 to 42 inches high and 27 to 33 inches across. A metal piece ran across the center of the shield, so it could also be used as a weapon to punch or push forward.

Paul, in his analogy of the Christian armament, says that “above all” the shield of faith should be raised!

Pastor Terry will give us 5 reasons why God “allows” problems in our lives, and how we should respond to them as he continues in our current sermon series – “Questions Christians Ask”.

Today’s sermon is entitled, “Why Do Christians Have So Many Problems?”

God has never promised Christians a life without temptation. Like birds flying over our heads, we can’t do nothing about it, but we can prevent those birds from building nests in our hair.

God has promised that He would provide a way for us out of every temptation, so that we can become over comers through Christ Jesus and not victims to the enemies schemes.

Pastor Terry Continues in our current sermon series; “Questions Christians Ask”, and will show us how to conquer temptation with today’s sermon entitled, “How Can I Overcome Temptation?”.

Many followers of Jesus Christ look for the assurance of salvation in the wrong places. We tend to seek assurance of salvation in the things God is doing in our lives, in our spiritual growth, in the good works and obedience to God’s Word that is evident in our Christian walk. While these thing can be evidence of salvation, they are not what we should base the assurance of our salvation on.

God wants us to have assurance of our salvation. We should not live our Christian lives wondering and worrying each day whether or not we are truly saved. Pastor Mike will start us on a brand new sermon series entitled – “Questions Christians Ask”.

Mike will help us with one of the biggest questions most Christians have in today’s sermon He is calling, “Take Assurance In Your Salvation”.

“Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” This is the question the disciples asked Jesus when He was speaking about the end times on the Mount of Olives.

It seems as if this question has been haunting us for years, and yet we as the Church seems to be living as if we were asleep to this whole subject.

In the words of singer songwriter Tim McGraw, we need to live each day as if we were dying. This will cause each of us to live our lives on purpose, being ready for Jesus's eminent return.

Let's not join Terry as he elaborates on this subject in a sermon he hasn't titled, "Understanding the Present Time".

We live in a world that has gone off the grid and left many disenfranchised. The church has suffered as well, and we are asked to speak words of faith; to speak life into the dry bones that have resulted. It is time for the prodigals to return!

Looking on this generation with "our" eyes can easily become discouraging. Can these bones live?

But God has called us for this time and in this place to do exactly that; speak to the bones of religion, lost visions, broken dreams and damaged hearts.

Together we will see a great move of God where Jesus is exalted and the dead will come to life!

Today we will be having a special guest speaker, Pastor Rick Smail of New Life Church.

Pastor Rick will be sharing a massage he has entitled, "Can These Bones Live?".

Nehemiah lived in Persia almost 1000 miles away from Jerusalem, he had comfort, status, and influence. He was comfortable living an ordinary life, but he heard from God and took on the challenge of rebuilding the wall.

So we frantically scramble. We feel out of touch—out of touch with our spouse, out of touch with our families, out of touch with the world around us and, perhaps most of all, out of touch with God. Is there a way to get back in touch?

In the Bible, God gives us a solution written within the Ten Commandments. It’s a commandment that gives us time for a welcome, refreshing rest from our weekly labors, a time during which we must no longer be absorbed in our ordinary daily cares and concerns—a time for spiritual rejuvenation.

We need not be afraid nor ashamed to share our faith to others. When we really consider what is at stake we should not hesitate.

Hell is real! Let’s not stand by and allow our family, friends, or strangers die without an opportunity to accept Jesus as their Lord.

Today Pastor Terry continues with our current sermon series, “The Militant Church”.

Terry will be sharing how we should share Christ with others urgently in a sermon he has entitled, “Going Out Militantly”.

Where do our morals come from?

Does our sense of right and wrong, good and evil, evolve around the attitudes of our current social environment?

Or do they come from the God of creation, our true north, our absolute authority on righteous virtues.

Today Pastor Terry will be sharing a very special Father’s Day message he hasn’t titled, “Calling all Fathers”.

What comes out of our mouth can be used to either build up or tear down strongholds. In today's message Pastor Terry will be using several illustrations of how we can use our voices to combat sin and lift up God’s name.

We as Christians must not standby passively while the world around us crumbles under satan’s power. God has given us authority over the enemy, and our voices are the weapon that will defeat him, and our voices are the instrument that will bring glory to our mighty God.

Let’s join Terry as he continues in our current sermon series, “The Militant Church”. Today's message is entitled, “Developing a Militant Voice”.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 states: Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

I can’t help but think if General George Patton were to give a narrative of these verses, he might state it something like this:

…pray militantly with great vigor. Actively pursue the enemy, aggressively and without ceasing, for the victory is already ours!

In today’s sermon Pastor Terry continues in our current sermon series – “The Militant Church”, in which he will expound on this very subject of tactical prayer in a message he has entitled, “Thinking & Praying Militantly”

The same can be said for spiritual warfare. We need to be militant against the devil and his schemes.

Let's now join Terry as he presents today's sermon entitled "No Summer Soldiers".

It has been said that the last words out of ones own mouth may be the most prolific statement one could say in their life. This being said, in the book of Mark chapter 16 verses 15 & 16, Jesus made this statement before transcending into heaven:

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

This is said to be called “The Great Commission”, and was not a suggestion, but an order from our Lord and savior Jesus.

So why is it that we are so timid or maybe unwilling to fulfill Jesus’ last words?

Today Pastor Terry will help us better understand Jesus’ statement in a sermon he has entitled – "God's Commission".

Traditionally the church has taken a somewhat judgmental or harsh attitude on sinners. We have taken the viewpoint that sin is punishable by death and that God sent His son to save us from damnation and Hell.

While this is all very true, we sometimes forget that Jesus sought out the very worst of offenders in order to shed grace upon them.

Jesus wants us to bare truth to people, but at the same time share the grace of forgiveness and love so that people may want to change from there disparaging ways.

Pastor Terry concludes his two part sermon series entitled contagious grace, with this weeks enspiring message he calls, “When Gracie Met Truthy”
