Each year, we celebrate Father’s Day and honoring the men who reared and/or raised us…but sadly, many people never have the opportunity to celebrate that holiday due to the absence of fathers or father figures in their lives. Truly, fatherlessness is one of the top societal ills plaguing our nation, and it’s producing a generation of young people who suffer serious mental and spiritual issues as a result. Well…..this episode’s special guest is actually a friend of the show who has visited us before to discuss this troubling dilemma, and last time he visited us (Season 5, Episode 3) we ran out of time pontificating upon this critical issue. Well he’s back to continue our discussion about the work that his organization is doing to help eradicate the scourge of fatherlessness through his organization, Fathers in the Field, a Christian ministry dedicated to helping men recapture what it believes are their divinely-assigned roles as Pastor, Provider and Protector in the home. Come fellowship with us and learn what this ministry is doing to help men become all that God designed them to be as they combat their own brokenness, pain and anger due to lack of father figures….and precisely the type of work the ministry does to aid men in dealing with their “Daddy Issues”. So, be honest…..you wouldn’t mind being RICH, would you? Well, how BADLY do you want to be rich? Because that’s the REAL question. Popular culture has coined the phrase “get rich or die trying”….but is that something people should TRULY be seeking after? Is getting rich above all else REALLY the best way to approach life? Not according to the Bible, it isn’t! In fact, the quest for being rich is actually one of the most damaging, most fundamentally WRONG things that a person could ever do in their life. Because it’s not the actual possession of money that the Bible frowns upon….it’s the PURSUIT of that possession, the “at all costs” sensibility associated with wanting to be rich. In fact, too many people MISINTERPRET what the Bible says about this very subject! Come fellowship with us and learn why we want to stay on the road to righteousness, and fellowship with Christ….and NOT swerve or veer OFF that road and end up instead end up headed down the “Road to the Riches”!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

How absolutely CRAZY is the world right now? Wars, rumors of wars, disease, corruption, crazy weather patterns, widespread deception…..everything seems to be spiraling out of control everywhere you look. Fortunately for those of us who follow Christ and try to live our lives in obedience to God and His Word, the Lord has already given us a PLETHORA of promises which will not only help us to NOT be anxious about everything, but which also instructs us precisely in the way that we go about avoiding such anxiousness. Check out this episode of “Deeper in the Word”, where we examine three specific passages of Scripture which guarantee us that God’s desire is that our THOUGHT LIVES be conformed to only those things which are good and pleasant…..and NOT with the things that work to keep us “So Anxious”!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Yunno, the Bible is such an amazing book because its principles are timelessly applicable. In other words, things which ancient peoples went through thousands of years ago – and the lessons which they learned because of their actions - still apply to us today. So we need to learn from their mistakes and missteps so that we can avoid making them, as well, because many of the mistakes which those ancient peoples made ended up costing them dearly. And whenever we do something or engage in an activity where we may have to suffer the consequences for our actions later, we say that we’ll have to “pay the price” for doing that thing….which is precisely what happened to the Israelites back during the time of the Judges; they were acting in ways and engaging in behaviors for which they ultimately paid a high price. Join us for this week’s episode of “Deeper in the Word”, where we discover how the actions of the ancient Israelites are similar to actions people engage in TODAY…and how, as a result, the FATE they faced is the same fate that people today are in danger of experiencing as well!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

WHOOOAAAAA!! Listen, friends….we’ve done some absolutely amazing episodes and have had some incredible guests on this show over the last four years (can you believe we’re coming up on our FOURTH anniversary this June?!)… …..and without casting aspersions on any of our prior spectacular guests, I think I can HONESTLY say that, without a doubt, this episode’s guest might be the most fascinating one we’ve ever had, because of his expertise on the TOPIC we’re discussing, and that’s ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (or “AI”). Yes, y’all…this week’s episode might be one of our most important ones to date. Point blank, AI is SCARY. It’s a serious detriment and threat to our society, because of (a) its deceptive nature, and (b) its ability to become self-aware and think FOR us. That’s why we’ve entitled this episode “Think Pieces”….because that’s what a think piece is, an article in a newspaper, magazine, or journal presenting personal opinions, analysis, or discussion, rather than bare facts, and its intended purpose is to SKEWER the facts to instead persuade you to think the way its AUTHOR or creator WANTS you to think. And that’s EXACTLY what AI does, y’all…it represents what isn’t real, and purposefully presents it as reality for the purpose of influencing your thinking. That’s why AI represents arguably the MOST perilous type of “think piece” ever conceived! Join us for this INCREDIBLE episode with our special guest, author and theologian William Jefferson, who is a certified expert in the field of artificial intelligence and has written an incredible book that deals with this subject in a rather unique manner. Mr. Jefferson talks about the dangers that AI poses not only to the Christian Believer, but to the world at large….and why we need to be on guard more than ever, before it’s too late!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

You ever heard the phrase “the numbers don’t lie”? Well, when it comes to the declining membership of and interest in the church, that phrase couldn’t BE more true. More young people are walking away from the church, less people are attending in-person services, and even less people are giving and serving in God’s house. Part of the issue has to do with the fact that there are too many churches these days which engage in habits and practices which are OUTDATED and no longer effective…and why would you keep doing something that no longer works? Why keep following STALE practices instead of implementing FRESH ones? You wouldn’t wanna eat STALE bread over FRESH bread, would you? Join us for this episode of “Deeper in the Word’, where we discuss how churches and ministries worldwide need to DO AWAY WITH the old ways, practices and habits which AREN’T working anymore and implement NEW ones which go along with how the Lord is “doing a new thing” in the church in this modern age. Come fellowship with us as we examine how to go “Out With the Old….”!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Y’all ever heard the phrase “birds of a feather flock together?” It basically means that people with like minds and like habits tend to frequently hang out and chill together, because of all the things they have in common….and sometimes, those things they have in common aren’t good or pleasant, but instead reflect negatively upon their character. That’s why Christians need to be so careful in who we hang out with, in the company we keep”…because fellowship with other Believers who share our mindsets and love of the Lord is paramount if we want to GROW in the Lord. Yunno….Jesus hand-picked twelve men to carry out the mission of spreading His message to the rest of the world, and He had very specific reasons for doing so, for choosing those particular twelve men. The model He established for doing so is the same model that we need to follow when WE decide about the people we’re gonna be hanging out and chillin’ with. Come fellowship with us as we learn from Jesus’s example in how and why to pick the proper folks that you hang out with as a Believer, because ultimately how you are judged will be affected by “The Company You Keep”!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Listen…..there is an ENTIRE generation of people who grew up on video games! Whether it was going to the arcade to pump quarters into their favorite game, or sitting for hours on end in front of the TV playing their favorite console, video games have ingratiated themselves into the fabric of our society over the last 30-plus years. However, we ALSO know that there’s always been debate and discussion about the EFFECT that video games have on young people, and it can’t be denied that they do have detrimental aspects and elements to it. The violence, negative images and overall debauchery associated with many video games have made them a target for heavy criticism and sometimes even being banned….and some of that has been warranted and necessary. BUT…. what if there were video games and online comics and related videos which promoted GODLY sensibilities to young people? What kind of LONG-TERM EFFECT would it have upon the youth of today if they had access to BIBLE-BASED GAMES in the SAME WAY that they have access to games which promote murder and mayhem? Fortunately there’s ALREADY a company hard at work to ANSWER those questions and set to REDEFINE what it means to be a video game and online content company…one that’s steeped in the LORD and not the WORLD. Join us for this special episode of “Deeper in the Word”, where we interview Mr. Brent Dusing, the CEO of TruPlay, a company which specializes in creating and promoting BIBLE-BASED games that are actually fun and engaging for kids and not just lame, boring retreads of the same ol’ types of Christian games we’ve been used to seeing!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Question: if God came to visit many churches today in person, do you think He would be pleased with what He saw? Do you think He would applaud or approve of the worship services? More importantly, do you think He would be happy with the ATTITUDES and BEHAVIORS of the people who frequent His house and claim to love Him? Well….back during the time of the prophet Amos, God made it CLEAR that He wasn’t too happy with the people or their worship towards Him. In fact, He sent Amos to tell them so….and the things Amos told the people should have shocked and embarrassed them, but it didn’t. I wonder if he’d get that same reaction from many churches today….. Come fellowship with us for this episode of “Deeper in the Word”, where we examine what it means to God when His people demonstrate a “Defective Devotion” to Him; that is, when the so-called people of God basically go through the motions to worship Him by making it look good INSIDE His house, yet by acting wickedly once they’re OUTSIDE it!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Man o’ man do we have a VERY SPECIAL episode in store for you this week! You see, this installment of “Deeper in the Word’ just so happens to drop during Black History Month! So in honor of that celebration, we present to you an episode about the hidden – or “forsaken” - contributions of Africa and Africans or Black people IN AND TO the Bible and to Christianity. Why are these contributions “forsaken”? Because history has either inadvertently or deliberately disregarded them and failed to teach us about them in our schools and educational systems. So we’ve set out to “set the record straight”, if you will, about the MANY influences which the continent of Africa – and Black people in general – have made to our faith throughout biblical history. So come learn about shattering misconceptions and myths held in the Black community for AGES; about reasons why Cush is significant and famous which have NOTHING to do with smoking; and how MANY of the early church fathers were Black men and you didn’t even KNOW it! Don’t miss this special, informative (and potentially controversial) episode! Listen….what’s going on in Iran right now is VERY important….not only because people are coming to Christ, but because the events transpiring there are aligning with Biblical prophecy that was foretold thousands of years ago.And fortunately, our special guest this episode is a certified EXPERT when it comes to this subject. Meet Dr. Hormoz Shariat, known as “The Billy Graham of Iran”. He is almost single-handedly responsible for the rapid spread of Christianity in that country, having been dubbed “the most influential Iranian-American alive”. His ministry has been featured on worldwide platforms such as CBN’s 700 Club, Daystar, and TBN. He’s also the author of the book “Iran’s Great Awakening” which is the number one source of information about what is happening in Iran today.Come fellowship with us and learn about the great “Divine Awakening” that’s taking place in a country where following Christ can get you ostracized, jailed…or worse!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Welcome to 2024, friends! Our first show of the new year, and we couldn’t do it without y’all! Join us as we kick it all off with a discussion about the POWER and FINALITY of….a “Judge’s Decision”.Listen, if you’ve ever been to court – traffic court, civil court, criminal court, whatever – then you know what we’re talkin’ about. Once that gavel comes down, that’s IT – you’re not changing the judge’s mind. A judge’s decision is ALWAYS final and binding…..whether you like it or not!Well, that same sense of binding authority in judgment is even MORE important in the context of LIFE. Because we’re ALL gonna be judged one day by God….and HIS decision about what you DID or DIDN’T do in this lifetime is binding and authoritative, whether you like it or not!Come fellowship with us and see what in the WORLD Roy Jones, Jr. has to do with the Laodiceans….what your ATTITUDE says more about you TO God….and how you can avoid God’s judgment by following a biblically-based ideology called the “Triple T Doctrine”!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

[Sea 5 / Ep 9]Do you know what’s “good for your health”? That means that something is “beneficial for your physical or mental well-being”. So many things can be good for your physical health….but what about those things which are good for your mental and spiritual health? Fortunately, so many organizations are doing Kingdom work which is good for the health of the community at large, if not the world community as a whole. This episode’s guest represents JUST such an organization…...and quite frankly, NOBODY’s model is doing it quite like theirs when it comes to addressing the physical, spiritual and mental well-being of Christians in PARTICULAR.Join us for a very INTERESTING discussion with Mr. Evelio Silvera, the Vice-President of Christian Care Ministry….an organization comprised of Believers who basically have “pooled their money” (for lack of a better phrase) to take care of each other’s health care needs, and beyond (including adoption needs!). Life as we know it today is filled with important questions which need answering: “when will the wars end? How do we survive in this economy? Are we living in the end times?….what am I gonna have for LUNCH today?”Well….maybe not so much that last one. But you get the point. HOWEVER, while everyone is asking questions, many people aren’t asking the most important question of all.So goes this week’s episode of “Deeper in the Word”, where we examine a famous Biblical story of how two men AVOIDED the chance to escape from prison….and how their FAITH compelled the guy guarding them to ask “The Million Dollar Question”.Come fellowship with us and discover how arguably THE MOST important question that has ever been asked in the history of the world is not asked often ENOUGH….and not by the right type of people, either!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

There are over SIX BILLION people on planet earth. Because of that, many people feel a great sense of insignificance, like God doesn’t know them or wouldn’t have time for somebody like them. Yet the Bible teaches us that God knows everything there is to know about each of the six billion humans dwelling on the face of the earth today…..meaning that He DOES think about you. God spoke this Word to the people of Israel LONG AGO concerning their Babylonian captivity and the promise of their safe return to their homeland…..but there’s also application in it TODAY for the modern church. Y’all ever been to an after party? Sometimes they can get pretty WILD, right? Meaning, the after party is usually the place where people REALLY unwind, get loose and yes, get drunk off their behinds. It’s the party AFTER the party. Well, the bible tells about a story which presents a bit of a different take on what an after party truly is…..because it tells about what happened AFTER THE PARTY that a king named Belshazzar gave, and NONE OF IT was good. See the problem with people having a “party all the time” sensibility is that they never think about WHEN THE PARTY WILL STOP, because they’re too busy living for the good times. So they end up ill-equipped to handle things when the time comes for the FUN and partying to end. Come fellowship with us and hear about a Babylonian king who started doing WAY too much; how God showed up to a party in the craziest way possible; why it’s never a good idea to mock or ridicule the creator of the universe; and…making death preparations?--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Friends…fatherlessness is a huge crisis in our world, and if we’re really being honest, just about every deep-seeded societal issue we face is rooted in the systemic problem of fatherlessness. The numbers bear this out – for example, more than 18.4 million children in America live without a biological father, a stepfather or an adoptive father in their home, and we’re seeing the effects of this reverberate throughout the rest of society, because research FURTHER shows that fatherless children are more likely to live in poverty, suffer from a mental issues or engage in antisocial behavior, and more prone to have problems at school. Well, it’s time for the people of God to FIGHT BACK against this crisis, and this episode of “Deeper in the Word” hopes to kickstart JUST that! Because this episode’s special guest just so happens to SPECIALIZE in dealing with this topic and has dedicated his life towards what he describes has helping men heal from the trauma of fatherlessness “through the pursuit of masculine righteousness through forgiveness”. Come fellowship with us for a SPIRITED – some might even say CONTROVERSIAL - discussion that covers everything from biblical deadbeat dads to biblical forgiveness to addressing the controversial issue of the “demasculinization of manhood” and how that extends into the home….AND into the church! Listen….when you travel to a foreign land, you usually get your money changed over to that of the local economy…..so you pay a conversion rate in order to change your money from one form to another.Saints of God….there’s a DIFFERENT kind of “conversion rate” going on in the nation of Iran these days, and it ain’t about changing your money. No, THIS conversion rate has to do with the high rate of conversion at which Muslims are becoming Christians in that country. Due to a tragic (and quite honestly, evil) incident in late 2022 now dubbed “Black Friday”, thousands upon thousands of Muslims are denouncing their faith and turning to salvation in Christ…and our guest this episode is with an organization that specializes in preaching the gospel to all Iranians, as well as planting churches, discipling believers and developing leaders to spearhead this monumental movement taking place in that nation.Join us and our special guest, Ms. Lana Silk of Transform Iran, as we talk about a Black Friday that has nothing to do with discounts or savings, and what it’s like to evangelize in a region where doing so could get you arrested or killed!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

When you work in ministry – and ESPECIALLY if you preach the Word of God or pastor others – you’re held to a much higher standard than Believers who don’t do such work (that ain’t even me saying that, it’s biblical…see James 3:1-12 and 1 Tim 5:19-25). So there’s a REAL danger associated with misrepresenting the Lord, engaging in fraudulent activity or otherwise misleading people who you are SUPPOSED to be helping to lead to the Christ. But what if you spent a large portion of your LIFE doing just that? What if your family made MILLIONS of dollars off of people’s naivety, simply because you TRICKED them into believing that you had a connection to God that you never actually had? Join us for this VERY special episode of “Deeper in the Word” with our amazing guest, Pastor Costi Hinn. Pastor Hinn is the nephew of the internationally-renown televangelist and “faith healer”, Benny Hinn. Pastor Hinn shocked the Christian community back in the early 2000s when he “defected” from the family, renounced their practices, and then came to the knowledge of who Christ and the Holy Spirit TRULY are. Come hear his incredible story and testimony, including tales of living the life of the rich and famous….all off of people’s DONATIONS; how the Spirit of God often gets treated like the stepchild in the corner; and how his new book will help set the record STRAIGHT about the true identity and nature of the Holy Spirit! IT’S A CELEBRATION….sort of. See, we’re celebrating our 99TH EPISODE of “Deeper in the Word” with this episode….but the REAL celebration is in the fact that we’re ONE EPISODE AWAY from 100 EPISODES!! So again, we’re celebrating…but only KINDA.

No worries…that won’t stop the QUALITY of this lil’ ol’ flagship podcast of Benevolent Faith Ministries, as we bring you this episode’s topic of FAMILY AFFAIRS. What ARE “family affairs”, exactly? Does that phrase even mean the same thing to EVERY family? Because it could mean anything from a planned family gathering to the details that a family DOESN’T WANT ANYONE ELSE TO KNOW about (as in, “it’s a family affair”, and therefore none of your business).

But when it comes to the Bible and followers of Christ, the phrase “family affairs” takes on an ENTIRELY new meaning and substance…and in a few different ways. Come join us for this special 99th episode of our podcast which, at its core, explores the concept of working to help your FAMILY MEMBERS seek Christ. Because YOU might be saved….but are your family members and loved ones saved? Is that even important to you? Topics of discussion include how Jesus actually redefined the concept of “family” in stark contrast to the beliefs of His time; how one’s BLOODLINE and lineage/genealogy meant EVERYTHING when it came to the recognition and reputation of your FAMILY in biblical times; how our struggles against Satan really ARE like being in “The Matrix”; and what God promises us will happen if we pursue salvation for our family members in earnest!

If you’ve ever been to a swap meet, or a flea market, or even a MALL, then you know what it’s like to experience the marketplace….and it was always a vital location in ancient biblical times.  The marketplace was the place where merchants sold and traded goods, where people congregated and conversed, and where new ideas and ways of thinking and living were promoted.Friends, in our modern times, I believe that the world wide web – the internet – is the NEW marketplace.  Think about it, you can buy and sell anything and everything on the internet…..including selling FALSE ideologies and phony doctrine.  That’s why it’s critical for Believers to know how to navigate the marketplace so that we can AVOID certain things that are not of God.Join us for this episode of “Deeper in the Word”, where RevRob examines the story of the Apostle Paul at the marketplace in Athens, Greece and how the manner in which Paul responded to what HE saw and encountered there should serve as the example by which WE model ourselves whenever WE’RE engaged in OUR modern marketplaces!  Topics include going to swap meets in San Diego; the good and bad of the internet; why disrespect towards God should piss you off; and how you have a DUTY to share the truth about God whenever YOU’RE involved in the marketplace!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Many people have never ACTUALLY served time in prison.  However…I think we would ALL agree that there are times when – both mentally and spiritually - we have all been through what we might call "prison experiences" in life.  You know what I mean – those times when it seems like God has LOCKED US DOWN in our afflictions….times when we’ve wondered where He was, and why He was doing this to us.

But friends….it’s how we REACT to these prison experiences that determines our success IN them….and that’s precisely what the Apostle Paul and his accomplice, Silas, both discovered in a deep, dark, STANK prison cell one night.

So goes this episode of “Deeper in the Word’, where we talk about the story of Paul and Silas in prison at midnight, and the miraculous thing that happened to them, all because they had the right ATTITUDE (and MAN, there is so much for us to learn from this story!).  Come fellowship with us and learn what Nixon and Watergate have to do with Benevolent Faith’s Giving Partnerships; how a slave girl sent two innocent men to prison; and how this well-known biblical story can help YOU transform whatever prison cell or problem that’s containing you into “A Prison of Praise”!

Normally, when someone refers to “Livin’ the Fast Life”, they’re talking about living a fast-paced, reckless life….about acting before they think fully things through and pursuing all the worldly pleasures this life has to offer, even if it means you may die or go to prison for it.

But there’s ANOTHER form of fasting that’s more significant to the modern Believer, and that the BIBLICAL form of fasting – or rather, going without (usually food) and instead using that time to get closer to God. It’s a very important concept for every follower of Christ to understand AND to engage in, not just because God favors it, but because it’s essential in our walk with Him.

Join RevRob for this episode of “Deeper in the Word”, where we explore the biblical concept of fasting and why it should matter to YOU. Discussions include commentary on the history of fasting, both in the bible and outside of it; a statement about spouses not withholding sex from each other (huh?!); why we need to take our cues from the ancient people of God; and what Jesus thought about people who fast for the wrong reasons!

Hip-Hop and R&B have many songs instructing us on how to “shake them haters off”…..but what IS a hater? And how does one truly go about shaking themselves of them?

Look, while we all share common definitions of what a hater is – a jealous and envious person, for example, or negative and mean-spirited people – the bottom line is that, behind every hater’s character, they’re a TROUBLEMAKER. They love to cause drama, division and conflict.

Sadly, even the church has haters…and I’m talkin’ about haters INSIDE the church, those who supposedly claim to love the Lord yet who act in exact opposition to that supposed love for Christ by constantly stirring up trouble. Thankfully, the Word of God helps to guide us in how to spot these types of internal haters…and what to do ABOUT them.

So goes this episode of “Deeper in the Word”, which finds RevRob exploring the idea of haters in the church – or rather, a specific TYPE of disrupter or troublemaker that every church member needs to be aware of and identify so that they can not only avoid falling victim to such people, but also so that they don’t become such people THEMSELVES, through trickery or deception. Come learn how Jesus was already WAY ahead of the curve on this one (as usual); why preventative maintenance ain’t just for cars; how what LOOKS LIKE water, ain’t always water; what your dog might be barking at out the window; and how ultimately, in the end, it will be “foot on neck” season for God’s people!

When God would punish people in the Old Testament, He would usually do it in a way that left NO DOUBT that a higher authority than man was the one dishing out the punishment.  God would punish people in such a spectacular way that there was no denying that it was HIM who did it.

And this caused GREAT fear and reverence for God, because the people knew COLLECTIVELY that – if they got outta line – the smackdown would be coming, and it would be on a huge scale.

Sadly, mankind doesn't think like that anymore….people don’t think that God will still put the smackdown on humanity, simply because He doesn’t do it the way He USED to (and trust me, if He DID, nobody would ever think that!).  So when the smackdown DOES come - and it WILL – there’s gonna be a lot of people who unexpectedly will experience God’s wrath at that time due to their OWN stubbornness.

Come check out this episode of “Deeper in the Word”, where we explore the topic of God’s wrath upon humanity, and why it’s OUR OWN FAULT that God has to smack us up from time to time.  The discussion includes an examination of why – in God’s eyes - a hard head makes for a soft behind; how you have to be ignorant ON PURPOSE to deny God’s existence; why science and faith ACTUALLY go hand-in-hand; and how people literally can be in “hell on earth” because of their lack of closeness to God!

Listen…..in our world today, you’ve GOTTA be able to separate what is authentic and true from what is false, phony and fraudulent. Seriously, why would a shoe afficionado want to buy FAKE Jordans? Why would a rich person want to buy FAKE jewelry?

That same question applies to Believers everywhere: why would you want a FAKE Gospel or a FAKE theology instead of the real, true authentic Gospel of the Bible? Because a fake Gospel is going to lead you STRAIGHT to that fiery pit below…..while the REAL Gospel leads to true salvation and the ultimate party in the afterlife. So how can you TELL the real Word of God from the fake Word? How do we discern PHONY preachers from REAL ones?

So goes this episode of “Deeper in the Word”, which finds RevRob exploring the topic of biblical preaching and teaching. Now…before you start thinking that that’s a BORING topic, understand that it’s actually far more important than you think. Because the reality is, there are FAR TOO MANY so-called preachers out here who are teaching a FALSE gospel, or a WRONG theology, or generally leading people astray with THEIR interpretation of Scripture. As Believers, we’ve gotta know how to discern the “Real From the Fake” when it comes to hearing sound, biblical preaching and teaching. So come fellowship with us as we learn why eloquent speech and big words have NOTHING to do with good preaching; why human wisdom WOEFULLY fails in comparison to Godly wisdom; how the Apostle Paul studied under the man who was like the “Michael Jordan of Jewish scholars”; and why the Bible can be considered GOD’S testimony to us!

Friends, there are MANY countries on planet Earth where the government and local officials HATE Christianity, followers of Christ and everything associated with the Bible….so much so, that they actually persecute, jail and even KILL those members of their societies which follow Jesus Christ.

Iran has always been one such country, where followers of Christ can face harassment and ….but what if I told you that – RIGHT NOW - Iran is experiencing a sudden UPSURGE of former lifelong Muslims who are not only converting to Christianity, but who’re also now speaking up and out against their former faith lives in the process?

Well…come connect with us for this special episode of “Deeper in the Word”, where we are joined by our VERY special guest and friend of the show, Ms. Lily Meschi, who is Director of Partner Relations for Iran Alive Ministries! Iran Alive Ministries broadcasts a 24/7 satellite TV channel into the Middle East and Central Asia with 130 million potential viewers. In fact, an independent survey has shown that it is THE MOST watched Christian channel in Iran, with 7.7% of the population (6 million people) calling it “our favorite channel, and we watch it daily.” Additionally, Iran Alive has planted one of the largest underground church networks inside Iran, and has an online training school with over 2,000 students being equipped to serve the Lord and be workers for the harvest in their home regions.

Ms. Lily - who was born in Iran and later moved to America - discusses her CRAZY, Hollywood-like background, and how cultural customs and life ultimately brought her from Iran to America via an arranged (and abusive) marriage; how she found the Lord in a country where women are suppressed and mistreated at every turn; how and why Christianity is EXPLODING throughout Iran and other countries in that region; and how events transpiring in Iran TODAY are actually fulfilment of biblical prophecy!

Don’t miss this one, y’all!

Y'all ever seen a boat that's dock somehow get untied from its mooring and start to DRIFT AWAY from the pier? Without anyone in it to control it, it could potentially float away and be lost forever. Because if a boat doesn’t have the proper navigation or guidance, that boat will most likely drift away with the current, and be carried away for long distances…..oftentimes in the WRONG DIRECTION.

And friends….followers of Christ can be the SAME WAY. If we don’t have proper navigation or guidance (the Word), – we’ll most likely “drift away with the current” (get caught up in the world) and be carried away for long distances (drawn further away from the Lord)….which is the WRONG direction for us to be going in!

And so goes this episode of Deeper In The Word, where we explore the topic of gradually getting away from - or drifting away from - God and the things of God!

“Put some RESPECT on my name!”  We’ve all heard someone say that, right?  It usually means, “stop speaking about me in such an unflattering (or even FALSIFIED) manner”, or “stop talking down upon me”.  We get pretty DEFENSIVE when it comes to our names, don’t we?  Nobody wants their name dragged through the mud, or otherwise wants negative connotations associated with their name…no, we want our names to STAND for something, we want people to RESPECT our names.

So then…..why don’t we have more respect or reverence for GOD’s name?  Why do so many people – including so-called Believers – CASUALLY use God’s name in vain, or MISREPRESENT it, or blaspheme it, or otherwise demean and degrade it in their everyday speech?

Join RevRob for this week’s episode of “Deeper in the Word” which explores the different ways in which God’s name is disrespected by people daily, even when they don’t THINK they’re doing it.  Come be apart of the discussion about what Benedict Arnolds, celebrity children and Band-Aids all have in common; learn how God’s name should be announced and how it should be adored; and hear about how what you say every day is actually in VIOLATION of God’s Word….AND how they’re a PUNISHMENT awaiting you if you don’t clean up your speech and start to speak about God “With All Due Respect”!

Listen….technology makes EVERYONE’S lives easier, right? Think about it: everything from communication technology (like social media) to computer software to mechanical equipment requires the use of technology. Even this VERY PODCAST represents the advancement of BROADCAST communication technology such that it allows lil’ ol’ ME to share the Gospel with people ALL AROUND the world! And so goes today’s special episode of “Deeper in the Word”, where we are delighted to bring on our special guest, Mr. Steve Horton, who is the Director of Customer Marketing and Experience Design Bio for a company named Ministry Brands, which is one of the world’s leading providers of software and services for faith-based, non-profit and other purpose-driven organizations. He graciously joins us to discuss the biblical implications of advancements in technology, and how the people of God AND the church of Christ both need to not only understand the importance of technology, but also to be willing and able to UTILIZE it for God’s glory. Come fellowship with us and learn how college fraternities bring people to Jesus; how technology in the Bible dates all the way back to the Old Testament; how COVID forever changed the way churches look at technology; and, we examine the new software that Ministry Brands offers to churches everywhere that seeks to revolutionize the way God’s house communicates with the rest of the world!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

So….how many of y’all have ever heard of that movie “The Purge” (actually it’s a whole movie franchise at this point, they’ve made, like, FIVE of those films haven’t they?)?  Essentially, the plot involves a governmental plan to CLEANSE the nation of crime and overcrowded prisons by authorizing an annual 12-hour period where all crime is legal….I guess the goal, according to the title, would be the PURGE the nation of the criminal element…..or something. But there was another, more personal type of purge that took place during the time of Jesus….a “cleansing”, to be exact (Luke 17:11-19).  It involved ten men who all suffered from an INCREDIBLY contagious and debilitating disease and who each experienced Jesus….but only ONE of the men had the PROPER reaction to that experience. There’s a lot we can learn from this story, about how Jesus “purged” these men of their sickness, and what that purging means for US today, as His followers.  So come fellowship with us for this episode of “Deeper In the Word” as we talk about this miraculous biblical event, covering topics such as calling on God in vain; how God deals with YOU differently than how he deals with your lil’ cousin and ‘nem; why God’s blessings and promises ONLY apply if you FIRST get yourself some act right; AND, we even engage in a detailed discussion about the importance of eyewitness testimony as it relates to The Gospels.--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Over the past few years, there’s been A LOT of public unrest in the world. Whether you call it “civil disobedience” (its proper title) or “protesting” or even “rioting”, people all over the world are speaking out against the things they support and standing up for the things which they do.But what about when it comes to being a follower of Christ? If you claim you love and follow Jesus, does that mean you can’t be out there, protesting? What are Believers supposed to do when the man-made laws that we’re SUPPOSED to follow actually come in conflict with God’S laws? What do we do when our mandate to follow what God has instructed us clashes with what the world/humanity/mankind and ITS laws are commanding us to do?Come fellowship with us for this special episode of “Deeper In the Word”, as we interview our special guest (and friend of the Benevolent Faith family), Mr. Peter Demos, and discuss his book entitled “On The Christian Duty of Civil Disobedience”. The book covers topics associated with learning the importance of defending Christianity in a changing culture and what to do when governing law violates God’s law. One look at our world today should be all you need to be convinced that things are out of control on planet Earth. Because control is the one thing we wish we had but many times don't. Every day that we live, we’re surrounded by things we can't control: the weather, the economy, the aging process…..Listen, the bottom line is that NOBODY likes a situation that’s out of control, especially out of their OWN control. But what we often forget is that - despite many things being out of OUR control - ALL things are ALWAYS under God’s control! Come fellowship with us as we discover how Jesus has virtually guaranteed us peace if we will only follow His explicit instructions on what we should do whenever we’re feeling “Out of Control”!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Everyone desires a “clean slate” every now and then, right? That chance to “start clean”? Because certainly, nobody wants to continuously live an UNCLEAN life, right?Well, that should apply to our SPIRITUAL lives, as well. We should want to live “clean” lives – that is, lives reflecting the characteristics of Christ – instead of living “dirty” or “unclean” lives, which are lives of sin and wickedness and depravity.Well, being DIRTY – that is, living filthy, UNCLEAN lives - is what we see the people of Israel suffering from during our discussion this episode, because they’ve abandoned the ways of God and instead openly and flagrantly embraced sin and idolatry….hmmm, doesn’t THAT sound familiar? Because the reality is, people today are very much like those people were in ancient Israel in EACH of those ways. But God gave the Israelites an invitation to escape judgment that, thankfully, is still available to us today.Come fellowship with us this episode as we explore what it means to acknowledge just how much dirt has been built up in your “home” (e.g., your spirit) and how we can “cleanse ourselves” by accepting the same offer that was extended to people thousands of years ago….such that we are able to start with “A Clean Slate”!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Besides being known as a famous Tupac album, this phrase “Me Against the World” has come to denote how someone feels when they feel like their back is against the wall and they have no one to help them and no one who understands them and their struggle….and therefore that they’re all on their own when it comes to dealing WITH that struggle (I mean, HONESTLY, that’s what Tupac was talking about IN that song….feeling like the entire world was AGAINST him and that he therefore STOOD ALONE, solely, in opposition). As followers of Christ, we actually need to adopt this same sensibility – that it’s us against the world, it’s the people of God vs. the people of this world, which is Satan’s realm. There has to be a clear line of demarcation between WHO WE ARE and who the rest of the world is such that people can tell the drastic difference between us.And so goes this episode of our podcast, which finds us examining what it means for Believers to stand boldly and confidently in defiance to societal standards. Come fellowship with us as we get our Pac on and learn how to adopt a sensibility that includes a way of thinking, acting and living like we are different than the world, including an exploration of who or what the “world” is exactly; why being “on the fence” as a Believer is breaking the marriage covenant; what ANY of this has to do with gang membership; and what it means to have God as an enemy (which, obviously, is some smoke you DON’T want!)--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Welcome to Episode 7, where we’re discussing what it means to appeal to God through prayer…but doing it the PROPER way. Because too many people approach God in prayer in a haphazard way – that is, they don’t take coming to Him seriously enough, and you can tell by the WAY that they pray. Listen, God is not the “homie”; He deserves far more reverence and respect than for people to simply come at Him like He owes THEM something. So when we pray, there’s a specific manner in which we should do it….that is, we have to observe the “proper prayer protocol” when to make our requests known to God.The prophet Elijah was very aware of this, and you can see it in how he prayed to God when you read 1 Kings 18. He followed the right PROTOCOL – meaning, he took the right posture and attitude in his approach to prayer, and his example serves as the perfect model for US to follow which can help us be more effective in our OWN prayer lives.Come fellowship with us and discover what it means to “take the proper posture” before God; why God loves it when you constantly check yourself; why asking for EXACTLY what you want in prayer is so important; and how passionately and steadfastly appealing to God leads to KNOWING that your prayers will be answered!--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Friends….as many of you know, we certainly like to have fun on this show. However, sometimes the topic is too serious for that….and this episode’s topic is perhaps THE MOST serious one we’ve ever broached on this podcast. Because this episode, we’re talking about one of the most troubling and disturbing problems in society today, and that’s the issue of human trafficking. The heinous idea of people being sold into slavery – whether it’s for sexual purposes or labor-intensive purposes – is unfortunately growing at an exponentially alarming rate all around the world, and it doesn’t just affect women or young girls; even boys are being targeted and subjected to it, as well. That’s why we have to collectively fight together in order to not only prevent it, but to eradicate this sickening problem from our world today…and our special guest this episode is going to provide us with some much-needed guidance to do just that. She will speak to the efforts which her organization is engaged in to stamp out these predatory actions in order to bring an end to human trafficking once and for all. So join us as we speak with Ms. Vanessa Morris, who is the Communications Director of the faith-based, non-profit group known as The Foundation United, about what her organization does, how they are working to educate the world about this subject, how this issue actually has BIBLICAL connotations associated with it, and what YOU (and your loved ones) can do to not only help them in their efforts, but also to avoid becoming victims YOURSELVES!--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

For all our movie buffs our there….y’all ever heard of a film called “The Defiant Ones”? It’s an Academy Award winning movie about two escaped prisoners - one Black and one White - who are shackled to each other and must cooperate in order to survive and escape to FREEDOM....essentially, it’s a movie all about bondage. Well, unlike the characters in that movie, followers of Christ are NO LONGER in bondage – we’re free from bondage to sin and worldly ways. But sometimes we don’t ACT like we’re free. Sometimes, we rebel against that freedom….which isn’t a very smart way to live, because what we’re REALLY rebelling against is God’s will and way for our lives. So goes this week’s episode of our flagship podcast, which finds RevRob exploring the concept of both willful and unintentional disobedience to God, and the motivations behind each. Come fellowship with us as we explore this topic, including discussions surrounding the misconception that being saved means sin is gone FOREVER from your life; the idea that it doesn’t matter if you disobey God ON PURPOSE or not; why doing what God tells us to do serves as the PROOF of your love for Him; how you can INTEND to do the right thing, but can actually make things WORSE for yourself (and others); and what a teenager plans to do on Friday night and Saturday afternoon has to do with what God has planned for YOUR life!--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

It’s special guest time! And OH, do we love it whenever we have a special guest on this show, because of the great insight and perspectives they always bring….and today is no different! And let’s be real…we ALL could use the right guidance in this life, right? And while the Bible should serve as EVERYONE’S proper “playbook” for life, we’re equally open to those who submit wisdom to us which guides us BASED on biblical principles as well as logic and common sense. Well, that’s PRECISELY what we have in the book prepared by this episode’s special guest, the dynamic Ms. Shetikee Ware, who is an author/entrepreneur and 15-year registered health care specialist with over 15 years’ experience in quality, compliance and risk management. She has written a new book, entitled “The Playbook: A Reference Guide Through Life”, which offers sound advice on a wide variety of practical tips to assist the reader in navigating through just about every area of life, from picking the right friend to following the right financial plans; from providing sound relationship guidance to giving advice on how to care for one’s elderly parents. Join us as we speak with Ms. Ware about her book, including topics such as the lost art of writing letters, the importance of training children up in the Lord from a young age, as well as why YOU need to make a reading list, especially one that includes the Word of God and some key passages found within it!--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Sadly, friends, we live in a world where people are far more prone to tear each other down than to lift each other up. If only the INVERSE were true, perhaps the world would be a much better place for all of us, eh? So goes this week’s episode of "Deeper in the Word”, which finds RevRob exploring the question, “what does it mean to be an encourager to others?” Because the Bible gives us the PERFECT example of what that looks like in the life of a man named Barnabas. If only more people would follow HIS example, we’d all be much better off as a race (the human race, that is)….or rather, if only more people would serve as INSPIRATIONS to others, maybe life on this planet would flow a lot smoother for us all. So come fellowship with us as we explore this great man of the Bible’s story, including an opening discussion about RevRob’s love of singing and music (huh?); what a certain legendary college basketball coach has to do with anything related to this discussion; and how the birth of a famous “secret recipe” serves as the foundation for the importance of giving an encouraging word to others! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Okay, okay, we admit it: we “borrowed” today’s show title from that old Digital Underground song (“eww-ewwww!”). But we did it because THAT song ties directly into the ideology behind today’s episode – that being, people doing whatever they WANT to, whatever makes them feel good, whatever “feels right” to them, even if it seems WRONG to others. But the problem with that ideology – especially if you call yourself a follower of Christ – is that doing whatever YOU like means that you’re not doing - -or worse yet, you’re not WILLING to do – whatever GOD wants you to do. So goes this week’s episode of Deeper in the Word, where we explore the concept of people “doing whatever is right in their own eyes”, which is a perfect description of our society today. Come fellowship with us and learn how people who lived thousands of years ago are EXACTLY like people today; how there are four very specific ways that people choose to follow EVERY BELIEF OTHER THAN belief in Jesus; and why the way you VIEW your life – that is, the lens you view it through – will determine how you LIVE your life!--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Listen….have you ever RESISTED doing something? And even if there were a number of different reasons WHY you resisted that thing, the bottom line is that you didn’t WANT to do whatever it was that you were resisting. In other words….you were being STUBBORN in your resistance to doing whatever it was that was asked of you. Because at its core, THAT’S what resistance truly is: resistance is basically STUBBORNNESS, and God does not look favorably upon those of His creation who are STUBBORN towards Him. And so goes this week’s episode of “Deeper in the Word”, where we explore the concept of stubbornness to God’s will and way for His children. Come fellowship with us and learn what the show Star Trek has to do with your salvation; why the ghetto colloquialism “get down or lay down” applies to EVERY follower of Christ; how God STILL loves us, despite people showing NO love to Him; and how, ultimately, if you keep on testing God you WILL feel the wrath of His smackdown!--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Welcome to the first episode of the new year! We hope that 2023 brings you closer to God and, accordingly, greater blessings in your life! However, in order for us to walk victoriously in our faith lives, we have to FIRST decide WHICH force we will give authority to over our lives: the force and impact of the world, or that of the LORD. Because point blank, God’s people shouldn’t HAVE so much indecisiveness and waffling when it comes to determining WHO’S authority we’re going to submit to our lives. Too often, Believers give into our own desires, our own flesh, FAR MORE than we submit to God’s authority in a given situation. So we’ve got to get to a point where we STOP giving AUTHORITY to our flesh, to our desires, to our vulnerabilities, and instead submit our authority SOLELY to the Lord above and NOTHING and NO ONE else. So goes this episode of Deeper in the Word, where we explore the concept of “giving God top authority” over that of worldly interests, and we use the story found in the text of the Book of Acts 5:17-40 as the backdrop for this discussion. Because that story tells us about how God’s people – in fact, Jesus’s very own Disciples – not only stood tall and courageously in the face of opposition, but how they persevered through it in God’s power….which is something that WE can do, too! So this episode’s topics include how a rap group from Flint, Michigan (NOT Dayton, Ohio….sorry y’all!) relates to today’s theme; how a divine power acted in ways that a parole board could NEVER mimic; and why it’s so outrageous that the very people who committed an atrocious act would incredulously wonder why they would be ACCUSED of doing so!--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Happy New Year, family! Or should I say, the countdown to 2023 is officially on! As we prepare to welcome a brand new year, we face some incredible challenges as a people (Christians/Believers) and as a race (humanity). But as with ANY challenge, the key to overcoming it lies in your own DESIRE to do so, and your own ENERGY to ACCOMPLISH overcoming it. In other words, you’ll only be as successful or effective in overcoming your challenges as your EFFORTS dictate. Well, that’s also applicable when we start talking about making resolutions for the new year; if we TRULY want to see real change in the new year, then we’ve got to be willing and able to DISCARD some of the things from the current year that we shouldn’t be taking with us INTO the new year. SO….check out our special New Year’s episode of “Deeper in the Word”, where we ask the question: “as you head into the New Year, what OLD habits and behaviors should you LEAVE in 2022?” We’re about to enter a brand new year….are you about to take the SAME OL’ YOU into the new year? Discussion topics include road maps for Gentiles; what depraved minds have to do with metals and coins; and why being different and discerning are the crucial elements in bringing the NEW you into the NEW year!--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

Merry Christmas to everyone from "Deeper in the Word"! Welcome to our special Christmas episode! We know that people typically cover the same topics this time of year – yunno, the baby in the manger, the three wise men and the shepherds, the star they followed, etc. – but C’MON NOW! Y’all already know that we do things differently on this show, so our special holiday episode will examine a DIFFERENT angle of the Christmas story…and that has to do with the NAME of Jesus. Listen….pretty much everyone born into this world is given a name. But back in biblical times – and unlike today - people’s names stood for MUCH more than they do today. Back then, your name stood for your reputation, or your fame and glory. In fact, if you study bible names you’ll see that they often reveal a lot about the personality of the people being mentioned. Well, there’s ONE name that’s far more special than any other name that’s ever been assigned….and so, we invite you to join us for our special Christmas episode as we explore the “Name Above All Names” and learn why the power, purpose and personality of our Lord and Savior can be discovered by investigating the root of his name!--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

So come explore the reasons and motivations behind WHY people consciously choose to act like God ain’t running thangs - both in THEIR life AND in the world – including a story about a biblical king that seems to come straight outta the latest soap opera, as well as discussions about hardheaded Israelites, corrupted hearts, and why a person’s FAILURE TO BELIEVE is arguably the biggest act of disobedience of all!--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/reverend-adrian-l-robinso/support

This episode, RevRob explores the issue of “cliques” in the church.  That is, people WITHIN the body of Christ who feel the need to further divide themselves into even smaller, more “exclusive” groups sharing some commonality, and which therefore preclude (or prevent) others from being part OF the clique. As you can imagine, cliques can be a huge problem for a community in Christ…but would you believe that even one of the most well-known ancient churches of all time, dating all the way back to the time of the Apostle Paul, had to deal with this VERY issue of church cliques? Come fellowship with us as we learn about the history of cliques, how they affected a certain famous church in biblical times, and how even the cliques in churches TODAY are very similar in scope to those which existed during ancient times.

It's special guest time, and oh we love when we have special guests! Join RevRob as he welcomes Mr. Dirk Smith of Eastern European Mission ("EEM"), which is a Christian organization who publishes, prints, and distributes Bibles and Bible-based materials in 30+ countries and 20+ languages through a vast network of partner churches and organizations (EEM also recently raised more than $2 million to provide Bibles for children in the Ukraine, as that war rages on). Mr. Smith joins us to speak about EEM and its mission, and how the work they do relates to The Parable of the Sower that Jesus told. He also shares some incredible stories and testimonials about what he's witnessed as a result of this work, and how YOU can get involved in bringing the Word of the Lord to "the four corners of the earth"!

The world is FILLED with haters, y’all….that is, people who simply cannot be happy for another person's success and who desire nothing more than to belittle and chastise others, usually just to make THEMSELVES feel better. And while haters come in all forms – and while nobody is immune from their wrath – there’s a SPECIAL kind of hate that is reserved for the follower of Christ. Truly, Jesus had (and HAS) some of THE WORST haters imaginable….and when you follow Him, those haters become YOUR haters, too. In fact, Jesus made it clear that if we loved and obeyed Him, we would be “hated for His name’s sake.” Sadly, this experience is all too real for millions of people around the world…and while we may get “hated on” in America for following Christ, it’s nowhere NEAR as bad as the hatred that is displayed against His followers in other countries around the world.

And so goes this special episode of “Deeper In the Word”, which finds RevRob exploring the topic of being “hated on” because you love and follow the Lord. Join us for this important conversation which covers topics such as defining what a hater is; how much people dislike being told about their faults and shortcomings; the type of persecution that goes on in OTHER countries that might shock and upset you; how the Disciples experienced this firsthand in the Bible, and how we can and should expect the same to happen to us; and why, DESPITE the persecution and hatred against God’s global body, Believers should nonetheless feel empowered in the face of such treatment!

“Money money money moooo-neey…..MOOOO-NEEEEY!” Y’all know the song, man….it talks about how “some people got to have it” and how “some people really need it”. But what it DOESN’T talk about is what GOD thinks about how WE regard money. See, WE view money - and how we use - it in a completely different way than the way that God views it. And oftentimes, our views clash with God’s views when it comes to WHAT we put priorities on with our spending.

See, God wants us to think more about GIVING than about SPENDING. But many people don’t prioritize their money that way. Oh sure, they’ll use it to “give”….but only to THEMSELVES and their OWN wants. But that’s not the way God intended for us to use our money.

And so goes this episode of our flagship podcast, which finds RevRob exploring how the Word of God instructs us to properly use our finances, from a godly perspective. Join him in this discussion as he covers topics such as the good and bad aspects of the dolla dolla bill, y’all; how God “calls us out” when we cheat Him outta His loot; how a little old lady’s actions over 2,000 years ago says A LOT about YOUR actions today; and how God doesn’t even WANT you to break Him off financially if you’re gonna just COMPLAIN about doing it!

We’re baaack! Join RevRob for an all-new episode of our flagship ministry podcast, as he delves into answering the question, “what does it mean to ‘fear the Lord’?” Well to be CLEAR…it doesn’t mean that we’re AFRAID of God. Instead, its meaning is steeped more in the idea that we revere and respect God – so much so, that we actually obey Him and do what He says (in accordance with what His Word, the Bible, says). But sadly, far too many people today act in ways that demonstrates that they clearly don’t revere or respect God….AND, that they aren’t fearful of how God will judge them for those actions (which He’s SAID He’ll do!). So how do we go about fearing the Lord? And, are there actually benefits TO US when do we it? Come find out the answers to those questions in this brand new episode, which finds RevRob exploring how we shouldn’t look at God the same way we do Freddy Krueger; how we should “fear” God the same way we feared our mommas and daddies; how fearing God can help you live longer, be happier, give you a sense of security, and generally enact all types of blessings in your life; AND, how living with a fear of the Lord comes down to heeding what the rap group Black Sheep told us a looong time ago, which is that “the choice is yours (you can get with THIS, or you can get with THAT…”)!

Ahhh….it’s STORYTIME! We love story time here at “Deeper in the Word”, because it gives us an opportunity to relate to and apply the morals and lessons found in biblical stories to our OWN lives. Welp, today’s story is no exception….because this episode we’re examining the very famous biblical story of Jesus raising Lazarus back from the dead.

Friends, Easter is fast approaching…..so we wanted to celebrate the season by focusing on the divine nature of Christ through His performance of miracles….and lemme tell y’all, bringing someone back from the dead CERTAINLY qualifies! Because the story of Lazarus going from death to life through the power of Christ is representative of every single follower of Christ today who goes from being SPIRITUALLY DEAD in their trespasses and sins to being reborn BACK TO LIFE through their faith in Christ.

Come fellowship with us as we walk through this incredible story and discover WHY Jesus WAITED before going to Bethany; what the people did which made Jesus shed TEARS; what the movie “Bad Boys” has to do with a body in a tomb; why EVERY saved Believer is a miracle of God; how “clothes” can keep you bound to sin; and how your testimonial witness to the world can be the strongest evangelism tool possible!

People love a good “origin” story.  That’s when you learn the background of something or someone, their HISTORY and upbringing and such.  But oftentimes, people follow or support things without even KNOWING their origins….which is, quite frankly, kind of silly.  For instance…..let’s say you don’t believe in God or Christ.  Well, what if I told you that many of the phrases you use every day come STRAIGHT out of the Word of God? Join RevRob as he explores some of the most well-known phrases that everyone uses – both non-Believers AND Believers alike – which actually have biblical or religious origins.  Come be apart of the conversation, which includes discussions about the difference between BELIEVING God and FOLLOWING God; what King David has to do with Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five; the truth behind breaking bread, and letting others speak for you; a crazy story about handwriting; AND, how one “label” that most people use haphazardly is actually representative of the true King of Kings!

And….as we usually do for the first show of the year, this episode we present to you our “State of the Church 2022” Address (our version of the State of the Union Address given every year by the U.S. President). Last year we examined the biggest challenges facing the church....but THIS year, we're making the top PROJECTIONS for where we believe the church is headed in 2022 and beyond. Discussion topics include the danger associated with ignoring church trends, and why "doing it the the way we've always done it" DOESN'T work anymore; why limiting the work of God to Sunday mornings RESTRICTS the power and reach of the church; why "shopping around" should NEVER be applicable to finding a church; how we believe God is PRUNING His people; and the importance, significance and EFFECTIVENESS of doing church online!

Question:  do you think God WANTS you to be rich and in good health?  Perhaps you follow, listen to and believe some of these preachers out here – some famous, most on television - who tell you that God DOES want you to be healthy and wealthy, AND that all you have to do is ask God for whatever you want, and He’ll just GRANT IT, like some cosmic genie?   Well, if you answered “yes” to any of those questions….what if I told you that ANY PREACHER WHO TOLD YOU THOSE THINGS IS LYING TO YOU?   Yes, friends, once again it’s ON….because THIS episode we tackle THE BIG ONE – that is, arguably the biggest, most controversial topic within the faith community today, and that’s the proliferation of The Prosperity Gospel, or prosperity preaching, or “name it and claim it”, or the Word of Faith Movement, to name but a few of its identifying titles.   Join RevRob as he explores this highly-divisive phenomenon in depth, including a discussion on the history of where it came from and how it started; an examination on how it TWISTS the Word of God for promoting personal agendas; and a measured look at WHY this doctrine is so effective within certain church communities…..ALL without EVER calling out ANY names or pointing fingers at anyone.   Come learn about the tacit pitfalls of prosperity preaching on the Believing populace!

Listen, NOBODY likes favoritism (….unless of course it’s being shown to THEM).  Favoritism – or partiality – means giving preference over others, usually based on a condition (like, social class, wealth, power, etc.).  It’s basically a form of discrimination.  And when you look around our world today, you can see the EVIDENCE for it.  However, God is pretty resolute when it comes to favoritism – meaning, He’s not down with it.  The Bible is pretty clear in teaching how God feels about showing partiality, or playing favorites.  And so goes this episode of “Deeper in the Word’, which finds RevRob exploring the topic of God’s impartiality and how, according to the King James Version, He’s “no respecter” of any SPECIFIC type of people.  Join us as we examine t.opics which explain who in the world “Rappin’ Rodney” is, as well as themes which include explanations on how you’re “breaking the law” when you treat other people badly; why racists follow INACCURATE ideologies; and why neither your STATUS nor your MONEY will be able to help you on Judgment Day!

The trial of Jesus is the most famous one in history (yes, even more famous than the OJ trial).  However, it’s not the infamy of the trial that deserves our attention – it’s whether or not Jesus actually received a FAIR TRIAL.  Yet while some hold the view that the religious leaders kept the letter of the law during the trial (though the procedures may not have been to ethical), MANY others believe that too many illegal things occurred during the process such that the trial of Jesus could not POSSIBLY have been considered “fair” and that, ultimately, He was denied His due process in what may be viewed as a textbook example of using the law in a corrupted way.   We invite you to explore the evidence for yourself in this episode of “Deeper in the Word”, as we get our CourtTV on and discuss the TRUTH behind arguably the most notorious and unlawful trial in world history.  Come join the discussion which includes topics such as why “due process” has nothing to do with a hairstyle; why OUR legal system today isn’t too much different than the legal system back in Jesus’s day; an analysis of the SIX (yes, count ‘em) SIX illegal trials that Jesus went through in ONE NIGHT; and a breakdown of the bogus charges brought against Him that led to His execution.

Friends, we live in a society where many people – including so-called followers of Christ – DON’T believe in the Bible.  There used to be a time when virtually everyone who called themselves a “Christian” understood Scripture to be inspired and preserved….in other words, it was considered sacred.  People used to believe that God had given us His Word and that, accordingly, the Scriptures were to be followed and obeyed.  But sadly in today’s day and age, most people follow and obey their OWN sensibilities and laws, with very little regard for God.  Worse yet, they try to dictate to OTHERS that they ALSO should not follow God nor listen to or believe in what He has to say.   If we call ourselves following the Lord, we need to be ready and prepared to DEFEND Him and His Word against people like that.  Hence today’s episode, which finds RevRob examining the importance OF - and the steps necessary TO – defend our faith against the many attacks coming up against it today.  Come join this week’s discussion, which includes topics like how the Apostle Peter and how Jude were among the world’s FIRST defensive coordinators; why the old Greek legal term “apologia” is so significant to followers of Christ today; how ANY society needs moral codes and values, not just OURS (but why NOT ours?); and how WE can go about being offensive coordinators for Christ in our daily lives!

Being covetous means wanting what the next man has. People are seemingly NEVER satisfied with what they have when they compare what they have with what someone ELSE has…and jealousy and envy are the tools the enemy uses to force people to do things which remedy the problem of wanting what they don’t have – namely, to TAKE from others. Truly, covetousness is what drives many of the OTHER sins people commit – they lie, steal and kill because they either want something they don’t have, or they want something someone ELSE already has. So goes the topic of discussion for this week’s episode, which finds RevRob exploring what it means to be covetous, what God has to say about it, and how we can PREVENT ourselves from doing it. Join the conversation with topics that include trying to buy your own house (??), how the first NINE Commandments all somehow invoke the TENTH Commandment; why Jesus is all we ever TRULY need; and the SECRET to living the type of life where you’re completely happy with what YOU’VE got ALREADY and thoroughly satisfied with the way things already are TODAY!

So….what IS “church hurt”? It’s a term which refers to the very real pain and abuse that can be inflicted upon those in the church by others ALSO in the church, especially those in positions of church leadership…and it can be something that ALL followers of Christ may face one day. One of the most damaging aspects of church membership, church hurt can ostracize people from fellowship, cause people to question their faith and, ultimately drive people away from God. The body of Christ simply CANNOT hope to move forward with any degree of blessing if the people within it are treating others within it in manners which are not befitting of Christ, or in manners which actually VIOLATE Christ’s teachings. But is it GOD’S fault that the person was hurt, or does the blame lie….elsewhere?   Join RevRob for this VERY important and timely discussion about a subject that many in the church shy away from, but which nonetheless REALLY needs to be addressed. Topics include the concepts of extreme betrayal and exploitation by those who are supposed to be leading you; what Jesus thinks about those who suffer at the hands of others AND those to cause suffering to others; and some practical tips we should consider if we’ve ever been hurt by a church.

The late, great Whitney Houston once sang it best: “I get so emotional, baby…” Friends, we ALL can be overly emotional at times, and oftentimes our emotions can get the best of us and lead us to BAD, unwanted situations and areas in our lives. That’s why it’s so important that we learn how to PROTECT ourselves FROM ourselves….in other words, as followers of Christ we must learn how to control our emotions by building a wall of protection around our hearts and around our minds so that they aren’t infiltrated by detrimental thoughts and sensibilities. So goes this week’s episode, which finds RevRob examining how we can construct the walls that protect us from how we feel. Come join the conversation with topics that include how we protect ourselves like the Chinese learned to do thousands of years ago; what self-control and reason have to do with our daily lives; what in the WORLD “EIQ” stands for, as well as what it means, exactly; what brain science says about reading Scripture; and exactly which types of BRICKS we need in order to build these walls of protection.

“He’s TIPSY! He’s LIT! He’s ON ONE!” These are all the ways in which people describe someone who’s intoxicated, or under the influence of alcohol. Being drunk on liquor is something that many people have experienced in their lives….including Christians. But Christians can ALSO be drunk in ANOTHER, more HOLY way…..and that’s being drunk with the Holy Spirit. Now some might say, “dude, is that even a REAL thing?” Well, the answer is “yes”, and in fact, there’s solid BIBLICAL precedence to SUPPORT that assertion. So goes our topic for today’s show, wherein we’re discussing the difference between being drunk with ALCOHOL and being DRUNK WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. Join RevRob as we dive into the comparisons and contrasts between the two, including discussion topics such as how speaking in other languages doesn’t HAVE to mean you’re intoxicated; what the Apostle Paul says about gettin’ your sip on; exactly what it means to be “Spirit-filled”; and, we do an analysis on the similarities between acting like you on that Henny vs. acting like you on that Holy Spirit!

As followers of Christ, we ALL can become subject to BACKSLIDING….that is, to reverting to sin or wrongdoing or lapsing back into previous undesirable patterns of behavior.  Each of us has to battle daily with putting our flesh into submission – that is, dying to self to ensure that we do what GOD wants of us and not whatever WE WANT to do.  Truly, the follower of Christ can either be moving forward in our walk with Him (progressing), or falling backwards (regressing).  But how do we KNOW if we’re falling away from the Lord?  Are there any warning signs which will tip us off that we might be “slip sliding away”?  And does the bible provide any EXAMPLES of people who backslid in Christ but were able to get back to a place of being on fire for Him? Join RevRob this episode as we explore this provocative topic, with areas of discussion which include comparisons to drug addicts, how your old friends can be your worst enemies, how even a certain beloved Apostle once backslid so bad that it ALMOST destroyed him, how the story of a former Old Testament king should serve as a cautionary tale for us about how backsliding can destroy US, and the indications we need to be aware of that serve as the “writing on the wall” that WE might be slip slidin’ away from the Lord!

Ahhhh, Hollywood….the land of big dreams and, also, major DEBAUCHERY.  Too often we find Hollywood films and TV shows featuring far too much gratuitous sex and violence, as well as negative and stereotypical portrayals, and not enough POSITIVE images or morally upright depictions.  But many companies are seeking to change all of that by providing TV and film content which serves to balance out the negativity we see….including companies like the all-minority, all-women based company of T&T Management and Production out of Atlanta, Georgia and one of its members, Ms. Marquita Owens-Robinson, who happens to be one of our special guests today!  Ms. Owens-Robinson is an established actor, screenwriter and producer, and is making her directorial debut with the short faith-based film entitled “The Prayer Warrior”.  She joins us this episode to kick off Season 3 of “Deeper In The Word” to discuss not only her background and her upcoming projects, but also to engage us in a spirited discussion about the need for greater positive representation in film and TV projects, including an infusion of more faith-based films in Hollywood, and the proof that there IS a MARKET for such projects.  Discussion topics include being a zombie in the freezing cold, why nepotism works, how Black women aren’t ALWAYS at each other’s throats, 4:30am discussions with God and an overview about how a 12-year old introduces the power of the Lord to her family!

There’s a war goin’ on outside no man is safe from…truly, each day we step into invokes our need to prepare for spiritual warfare against evil forces in high places.  But for the follower of Christ, we have been given the tools necessary to battle against this evil and wickedness, and Scripture spells out those tools clearly for us in the form of the Armor of God.  Come join the discussion this week as we delve into what this armor is, which pieces it consists of, and how we can wield it most effectively to emerge victorious in this ongoing battle for our souls!  Topics include how we compare to Tony Starks, the reasons why we go on the offensive during the battle, what belts and shoes have to do with warfare, and how the bible can act as the sword that helps us to get to SLICIN’ up the enemy!

When you were a kid, your parents probably told you to “watch your mouth!” Truly, our words carry a tremendous amount of power – not just in the way we say them, but also in how they are intended and received. Indeed, watching what we say is paramount to the walk of any follower of Christ – after all, Jesus never cussed people out, or told people off, or otherwise directed negative speech towards anyone EVER. And…if we’re going to honor the “power of life and death” that is in the tongue, then we need to make sure that what comes OUT of our mouths is a direct reflection of what’s INSIDE our hearts! Let’s face it….EVERYBODY lies. In fact, YOU lied JUST NOW if you said “not ME!” Studies and statistics reveal that, yes, a MAJORITY of people tell lies on a daily basis, with some even attempting to justify their lying. But is lying ALWAYS bad? And if you call yourself a follower of Christ, is it EVER okay to do it, even if it’s a “little white lie”? What does the Word of God have to say about lying liars? Thus begins our examination in episode 21, which finds RevRob pontificating on this concept. Come be apart of the discussion which includes topics such as how former President Bill Clinton played the semantic game; surprising statistics which talk about exactly HOW MUCH people lie regularly; how people lie and try to make you think they’re NOT lying; what David, Paul, Peter AND Jesus all had to say about lying and those who DO it; AND, we’ll explore many different WAYS that people lie which, at first glance, they MIGHT NOT ACTUALLY THINK is lying….ohhh, but it IS!

The Word of God tells us very clearly that – as followers of Christ - we are supposed to be DIFFERENT from the rest of the world around us. Many scripture passages speak about Believers being SEPARATED from the world…but what does that MEAN, exactly? Does that mean that we’re supposed to ISOLATE ourselves from people who aren’t Believers? Are we supposed to live alienated and disconnected lives from everyone around us? So goes today’s episode, which finds RevRob examining what it TRULY means for us to be “The Separated Ones” of Christ! Come join the discussion which includes making a DISTINCTION between what people TYPICALLY think separation is vs. biblical separation; what it means for us to be “the called out ones”; what it means to “conform to this world”; and how one triflin’ church which existed thousands of years ago serves as the BLUEPRINT for the modern church in how NOT to be worldly, and what happens when we FAIL to separate ourselves.

The symbol of the Christian cross: it’s utilized in many different ways by many different faith-based organizations and churches around the world. And….while debate rages on regarding the appropriateness – or INAPPROPRIATENESS – of doing so, it’s clear is that there are lots of varying opinions on the topic. But the REAL question is….is that was Jesus truly meant when He told us to “take up our cross” and follow Him? In fact, what DID He really mean by that statement? And what does the WORD OF GOD say about using the symbolism of the cross? Is God on record as being against such symbolism? And does the Bible actually go into detail about what “taking up our cross” truly means? Come join this important and oftentimes controversial dialogue! Discussion topics include what the difference is between a cross and a crucifix; what the pagan Babylonians have to do with this conversation; why rappers (and others) need to be careful what they claim to represent; why, ultimately, it’s probably best we should look to the examples of Jesus’s Disciples; why taking up your cross DOESN’T refer to that job you hate; the difficulties associated with self-denial; and finding the answers to some HARD QUESTIONS that all Believers need to ask when it comes to trying to determine whether or not you REALLY are ready to “take up your cross” and follow Christ!

In this week’s episode, our discussion centers around the topic of SHOWING COMPASSION to others….something that is sorely needed in today’s society. Truly, recognizing the suffering of others - and then taking action to help them - exemplifies a substantial expression of love for those who are afflicted….and that is a textbook meaning of what compassion is all about. But sadly, many in our world today (including those who call themselves Believers) lack the sensitivity – and the empathy - to think of others FIRST, often putting themselves before anything or anyone else….which is something that Jesus told us does NOT represent Him. So come join the conversation which includes discussion topics such as why the importance of wearing masks during the pandemic isn’t JUST for the individual with the mask on; the tenderness of heart necessary to minister to the homeless or recovering addicts; how Jesus flipped it on the Pharisees who tried to trick and trap Him; and what WE at Benevolent Faith Ministries are doing to answer the question of “who cares?”

Ohhhh, they're not gonna like THIS one! In fact, we predict that this episode just might ruffle quite a few feathers out there, particularly those who pastor churches or are tasked with shepherding others. So join RevRob for this controversial but necessary conversation that centers on why pastors must keep in mind that they are SHEPHERDS of the Lord’s house and NOT CEOs of their own companies. Welcome to Episode 41! This week, join RevRob as he probes the topic of….our ATTITUDES! Because when it comes to our attitudes, many of us sorely need to make ADJUSTMENTS to the way that we behave, think and act towards others. Simply put, when you call yourself a follower of Christ, you have a MANDATE to treat people a certain way…and having the wrong attitude when you go about dealing with people can not only run contrary to your walk with Christ, it can MISREPRESENT what Kingdom residency and what being a follower of the Lord is all about entirely. So keeping tabs on our attitudes – and making the proper ADJUSTMENTS TO them – is paramount for any Believer, and that includes recognizing the warning signs which dictate WHEN we need to make the proper attitude adjustments. So join us to discuss topics which include getting whoopins in public; using Jesus as our benchmark for behavior; the dangers of a laisse-a-faire attitude in Believers; the cause of the devil’s downfall; the irritations of social media and why drinking poison won’t kill anyone BUT you; and how unforgiveness only affects YOU and NOT the person you won’t forgive!

Welcome to our FORTIETH episode! Another milestone in the short life of this podcast, and we couldn’t have done it without you! Such a milestone of a show deserves a topic which is significantly worthy of discussion…and BOY O’ BOY do we have that for you THIS episode, which finds RevRob pontificating (like that one?) on the subject of FALSE TEACHERS of the Word, especially those in the CHURCH. These men (AND women) are “masters of disguise” because of the way they HIDE the truth of the gospel in order to promote their OWN ideals and platforms…in other words, they’ve MASTERED the art of DISGUISING their own agendas by passing them off as GOD’s agendas.   And….this episode we aim to EXPOSE such false teachers and inform you of how YOU can tell what constitutes false teaching. Discussion topics include what the show “The Twilight Zone” can teach us about this subject; that time when Moses said lying on God should get you merked (that’s a ghetto colloquialism for “killed”); how certain sayings which you THOUGHT were in the Bible….AREN’T; why preachers should ALWAYS be put to the test; why your grandmother was WRONG when she told you not to question the pastor; and why churches who care TOO MUCH about attendance and taking up offerings should be avoided at all costs!

Ahhhh, parenthood. It can be SUCH a blessing at times…and other times, it can be SUCH a headache. As earthly parents, we often do things that are only in the best interests of our children….so as a HEAVENLY PARENT, doesn’t it make sense that God would do the same for HIS children? Accordingly, welcome to Episode 14 of Season 2, which finds RevRob examining all the different ways that God the Father cares for, protects and disciplines His children….US! Come be apart of the discussion topics which include what it truly means to call God “our Father”; how something in the movie “The Breakfast Club” represents everything that God is NOT; why you never have to EARN God’s love; how God’s timing is always perfect, even when it doesn’t seem or FEEL like it; and how you desperately NEED God’s discipline even when you don’t THINK you do!

In today's episode, join RevRob as he explores some of the top criticisms levied against the Bible which lead people to claim why they don't believe in it or follow it....because they don't know whether to consider it "fact or fiction".  Discussion topics include a "canon" that doesn't shoot anything; why Luke didn't set Jesus's most famous speech on a mountain; why God would EVER promote violence against others; and why denominations - that is, groups calling themselves Lutherans, Catholics, Baptists, etc. - are actually PROBLEMATIC to the Kingdom of God when it comes to them purporting to call themselves followers of Christ.

Let’s keep it real….even though we believe in Christianity wholeheartedly, it STILL makes some pretty outrageous claims. A virgin birth? A guy who comes back to life and then ascends into the sky? For those who DON’T subscribe to lives of following Christ, these sound like some impossible, arguably even MADE UP details. HOWEVER….the world’s skeptical perception and subsequent treatment of Christianity and/or Christians is immaterial to the reality of each Believer’s salvation in Christ. In other words, what OTHER PEOPLE think shouldn’t dictate what WE believe. Come join the discussion about whether Believers in Christ are actually CRAZY for what we believe….or just saved by the grace of God FOR what we believe. Topics include going “mad”; being like Foghorn Leghorn's groupie; seeing the “light”; being like caterpillars; struggling against our flesh, and carrying out the task of the Great Commission.

Ahhh, misinterpretation….arguably THE most problematic issue that people face when it comes to getting to the original, true and correct meaning behind a passage of Scripture in the Bible. Point blank, people don’t understand Scripture – or they misinterpret and thus misapply it – because 9 times outta 10 they didn’t examine the context BEHIND the text which would have given them greater understanding OF the text. This is one of the biggest reasons why people misquote and MISINTERPRET the Bible.   Enter Episode 10 of Season 2, entitled “Touch Not My Anointed”. Join RevRob as he dives into a controversial topic within the church community, which is the idea that Psalm 105:15 creates boundaries for being critical of a pastor, minister, deacon or ANY OTHER person in church leadership. A long-established (but man-made) church doctrine, this misinterpreted understanding of Psalm 105:15 has led MANY church leaders to….let’s just say, NOT be godly in their approaches. Discussion topics include probing the current pervasiveness of this doctrine and how it can have detrimental effects on the body of Christ; why some pastors and church leaders have “Get Out of Jail Free” cards; why the church is never in Forbes Magazine; why Deebo (the bully from the movie “Friday”) was never a pastor or deacon; what King David has to do with the late, great Luther Vandross; who exactly is getting touched and anointed; and why not even church leaders are above reproach.

For Episode 9, RevRob is joined by our special guest, Ms. Sylvia Smith, who is an expert when it comes to the topic of discipleship, or rather, helping others learn how to follow Christ. Come join the conversation which includes discussions about growing up in the church and lifelong callings; how Christ’s directives, as found in the Great Commission, MIGHT be unrealized based on which bible version you know; and how teaching your kids their “biblical ABCs” might just be THE very thing that leads them to Christ for a lifetime!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ONE AND ALL! While Believers enjoy their family and friends this holiday season, however, we should all be mindful that there are others out there who are not as fortunate as us, who are suffering through this holiday season and who NEED to be shown the love of Christ that we are TASKED with providing! And so, to that end, we welcome you to our first ever holiday-themed episode, our Thanksgiving Episode, which is all about....well, giving thanks. Come join the discussion about what biblical thanksgiving TRULY means, why we should be GLAD that God doesn’t have an Etch-A-Sketch, how EVERY Burger King seems to make the whole block smell delicious, exactly WHAT Jesus was talking about with His “pressed down, shaken together and running over” statement….and most importantly, what WE at Benevolent Faith Ministries are doing OURSELVES in direct response to the mandate for biblical thanksgiving, with our “Season of Giving 2020 Campaign”!

We kick off Episode 6 of Season 2 with a DOOZY – the topic of IDOLATRY. Why is it a “doozy”? Because if we’re being honest with ourselves, ALL OF US (including us, too, at Deeper In The Word”!) are guilty of engaging in it, in some form or another. But what IS idolatry? Well, for those of you who think it’s ONLY related to Old Testament passages about worshipping other gods…..that’s only PART of it. Because as this episode points out, the concept of “idolatry” involves much more than graven images. Come join the discussion that includes both the working and biblical definitions of idols and idolatry; an analysis of why it’s OKAY for God to be jealous, but not us; why your kids dressing like that rapper they like might be problematic; that time when the REAL God told people to kill their family members for worshipping FALSE gods; and how doing things like overeating or working too many hours makes us just as bad as the Israelites.

Discussion topics include ancient beliefs in the concepts of heaven and hell by people who WEREN’T associated with the Bible; why we need more Billy Grahams in the world; what Jesus said about burning garbage dumps and partying at a wedding reception; and how Heaven is full of bling-bling for those who abide in the Lord!

Episode 3 of Season 2 finds RevRob engaging in a dialog about the concept of biblical prophecy. The truth is, the Word of God contains THOUSANDS of prophecies, or predictions, which have either come true already or are yet to take place…and this is the backdrop against which the subject matter is investigated. Discussion topics include the accuracy and probability of biblical prophecies coming true; what Moses’s qualifications were for men claiming to speak for God; why God used men – and not, say, bullhorns - to communicate with humanity in the first place; how prophets and other men of God told us a lot about history before it ever happened; and how men born centuries earlier were ALREADY spreading the good news about Jesus before Joseph and Mary ever THOUGHT about dating.

It’s baaack! Last season (Episode 2) we introduced a segment called “What HE Said...”, that answered questions which people have about the Bible and what God’s Word says in response to those questions. This episode finds RevRob returning to that segment as we seek to answer the question, “What does the Bible say about TATTOOS?” Discussion topics include the types of cuttin' and scratchin' that DON’T relate to deejaying music; how honoring your deceased loved one by marking yourself is NOT something that God would recommend; how the idea of being “branding” during biblical times had NOTHING to do with horses; and why Believers should first determine if their REASONS for getting a tattoo line up with the tenets of their faith.

Welcome to Episode 1 of Season 2!!  We're kicking off the new season with a VERY SPECIAL guest, Mr. J. Warner Wallace of "NBC Dateline" AND founder of Cold Case Christianity, which is a Christian-based apologetic organization that utilizes cold case detective principles and applies them towards proving the veracity (or truth) about the Bible, and especially about the New Testament (coldcasechristianity.com).  Mr. Wallace drops more gems than a clumsy jeweler on these topics, including discussions about Christians using the same evidentiary standards as the courts do for jury trials; about how the contradictions and discrepancies between the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) actually HELP them to make MORE sense; and how each of us, as Believers, need to be "case makers" for Christ!

TWENTY-FIVE EPISODES! We’ve just completed our first FULL season of podcasting "Deeper In The Word", and we couldn’t thank YOU, our loyal listeners, enough for ALL your support!  Meanwhile, it’s business as usual for Episode 25, which finds RevRob examining the negative influences of the media – particularly news media, but also commercial, Hollywood, video and music and sports media – that run contrary to the Word of God, and why, ultimately, many of us need to reconsider what we watch and we consider to be “reliable” or “trustworthy”, particularly when these things are measured against what GOD has said about them. As such, many of the things we’ve come to accept as “normal” need to, in fact, be “banned from (our) TVs”. Discussion topics include defining what “media” truly is; the responsibility associated with being a news reporter and how the news media exists to manipulate what we think; why you need to turn off your daggone TV more often; how Harry Potter and Tom Cruise influenced the world; and what God told the prophet Daniel thousands of years ago about that Zoom conference you had with your family last week…

This episode, RevRob introduces a new segment called “What HE Said….”, where we answer the top questions that people have about the Bible with responses that have a bit more depth than just a standard answer.  This week’s question:  “Why aren’t dinosaurs in the Bible?”, has RevRob examining billion year-old rocks, why the song “Dip It Low” by Christina Milian is about giant dinosaurs, and what logic and reason have to do with old bones and Jewish myths. (Submit your questions to us at info@benevolentfaithministries.org, and we’ll answer them here on the show.)

Our very special guest this episode is the one and only, the AMAZING Greg Kirkland, Jr. (whose latest single, “Give”, is available NOW on all digital platforms!!), singer, actor, producer, etc, etc, etc, extraordinaire!  This brother does it ALL – he joins us this week to discuss his extensive musical and Hollywood background, his beginnings in the church, and his current projects.  We also discuss this week’s topic, “Ancient Ways of Raising Praise (& Worship)”, with 1 Chronicles 16 as our backdrop, discussing how King David was a musical visionary, the origins of praise and worship and musicianship as a ministry, as well as conducting a dialogue on the Sons of Korah and how, just because your ancestors were trifilin’, don’t mean you gotta follow suit and STAY triflin’, too.

This episode, RevRob tackles some of the most "misquoted, misused and abused" Bible verses that people take out of context and, thus, interpret improperly. He examines the verses and discusses what people THINK they mean, what they ACTUALLY mean, why God doesn't help you score touchdowns, and why Tupac wasn't quoting Scripture.
