Madonna Kilpatrick is a comedian, anthropologist, and explorer. She is also autistic, and lives with non-verbal learning disorder, which can affect speech processing and motor skill coordination. These are not disabilities, however, but rather lenses through which Madonna observes the world, offering angles and viewpoints otherwise unseen by neurotypical audiences.
Getting back into the swing of things is a challenge, but the mission remains clear! In the first part of our group discussion, Alda and I get super deep into Star Wars (again), and Brianna shares her insights into the game A Little To The Left, as well as a conversation with one of the game's creators!

Kelly Coons is an Autistic author and educator who studied English at Smith College and Human Development and Higher Education at Harvard Graduate School of Education. As an author, Kelly is interested in creating works where Autistic characters are allowed to be what most people are: neither geniuses nor dependent on others—in other words, dare I say it, typical. As an educator, she is interested in combining lived experiences with "capital T theories" to provide students with components to construct their own unique "toolkit" to translate the knowledge they have gained from their experiences—"cultural capital" according to Professor Tara J. Yosso—into any world, whether that be a dedicated knowledge community, a career field, a friend group, or anything in between, they want to explore.
