This Podcast is to help all of us become better disciples for Jesus. Here we are growing to GO into the world and Grow disciples to make Disciples.
Jonah is a great account of the mirror we should look into to see ourselves and how we interact to others
What is getting in your way as you disciple others and welcome them into your life?
We put up higher walls to keep people at a distance and not welcome them into a life with Jesus. We do this because people are "different" than us, whatever that means. Today in the podcast we talk through some of walls we put up to keep people away from a freindship with ourselves and in turn away from Jesus.

Today we look at 1 Kings and learn about the great big God we have and he works through us.
Hannah prayed to God and not only did he answer the prayer, but he knew why the situation and prayer were so important. GOD KNOWS
Being intentional is something that we all have done in our lives. Want to lose weight you are intentional about what goes on your plate and what foods are in the house. Training for a race or physical completion you are very intentional about what you eat, when you eat, and how much sleep you get. You do that for optimal performance. What is important to you? Being intentional can be a scary and tough thing to do.
Living intentionally for Jesus is even tougher for us, because you want to honor God and show God in all you do. So, what are some tricks to living intentionally for Jesus? Let’s discover three “cheat-codes” for living a life intentionally for Jesus.
You can find the guide HERE.
This message from guest Preacher Chris Singer at Prince of Peace reminds us that we are called to love and care for others just like Jesus
In a world that is all about the I have to and the I can't statemetns God gives us a gift of rest (sabbath) now it is time to love ourselves by using it
God loves you and that makes you God's Masterpiece. That is why we should love ourselves
When we love others we bring them into and join them in community. Pastor Karl this weeks brings us a message of loving others by practicing communiyt based on Ephesians 4:1-15.
In week two of our July series we talk about practicing Hospitality by sharing food with others
Jesus commanded us to to love others. This week we kick-off the July series of Love Others
This weeks sermon we talk about being with Jesus through reading scripture. If you want to love someone you need to get to know them and the way we do that is to read the bible
To Love Jesus we need to be in prayer with him regularly. Let's talk abotu what that looks like
Jesus responds with these words
‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength."
This is what loving Jesus look like
How do we live the love of Jesus and how do we live loved by Jesus
1 John 4:7-8
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
In a highly divided world where people share their opinions on social media like many people eat M&Ms. Love is starting to go away and is replaced with division, hate, anger, and isolation. Honestly it makes me sad. Why is this? What is the reason? How do we bring back love? One person at a time! I saw a quote from someone the other day that said, “Be nice, you may be the only Jesus someone sees today.” So how do we love one another? What can we do to be love to the world I have three ways that you can start. Talk over these with a small group or your team and see what you can do to LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

In his book “The Meaning of Marriage” Tim Keller writes, “To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything.”
Pastor Schulz, the former pastor at Trinity Lisle, is the founder of Fully Known and Truly Loved, an organization that seeks to help churches recognize their blind spots, grow in their understanding, and reach out in a loving way to the LGBTQ people who are eager to be part of a caring faith community. Of LGBTQ people who grew up in a faith community, 76% are open to returning to a faith community but are afraid of how they would be received. Hear from Pastor Schulz how we can LOVE ONE ANOTHER and share Christ’s Peace with EVERYONE.
There are many people in our circles of relationships. These circles contain people at work, school, PTA, clubs, the gym, children’s activities, and many more. How do we find the right people to start a discipling relationship with and what are my first steps to developing this or starting this relationship. In this month’s episode we will look at these two questions and find ways to help you in your disciplining relationship.

Through my time with different discipling organizations, I have heard a repeated theme about making disciples and being a disciple Information – Imitation – Innovation.
What does this mean or what is the big deal with this phrase? This is the basic process of all of discipleship. In my first book “How are You Doing?” we talked about the 4 Cs (Connect, Care, Community, Christ) that is how you lead someone into a relationship you and with Jesus. But there is a follow-up step to this, how do we help people step out of just being a disciple and into a disciple making posture. I want you to think of being a disciple maker like an apprenticeship where one is the leader and models, explains, and teaches the “job” to someone else. In this podcast we will talk about these three terms and what they mean for you as a disciple maker.

Well, it is 2024 and now what. I saw a meme the other day that said, “Before I agree to 2024, I want to read the terms and conditions of the year.” Yes, we are again moving into a year of the unknown. However, this is also a time of starting something new. Many take time to make a resolution to “better themselves”. What if this year instead of making a resolution to lose weight or go to the gym or who knows what, we make a resolution to do something new for our faith life.
It's time for your faith to SOAR
Start something new in 2024
In this month’s podcast we will explore some of the ways you can help your faith soar this year and some helpful hints and ideas to help you in Jan-NEW-ary.

Who is David Kim?
Rev. Dr. David Kim was born and raised in South Korea. He arrived in the United States in 2002 after serving as a missionary/church planter in Ecuador for 12 years. His journey is a testament to his profound commitment to spreading the Gospel. To him, everyone is either a mission field or a witness of Jesus. In 2016, he created Glocal Mission (glocalmission.org) to help equip and mobilize every believer to become an everyday disciple/witness/missionary and to make disciples globally and locally. He has spoken all over the world, and his teachings on discipleship have been used to help many see and connect with Jesus. His insightful presentation will guide us in establishing meaningful connections, providing compassionate care, and, ultimately, helping others encounter the transformative power of Jesus.

The first step in discipleship according to the 4 C’s (talked about in a previous podcast and in my book “How Are You Doing?”). However, many people feel they can’t connect with people, they feel it is awkward and not a simple process. I have heard from many people that they can’t talk to people because they are introverted or they do not know what to say. In this episode we'll explore three simple yet profound teachings for building meaningful connections with others:
Ask Open-Ended Questions: Discover the art of asking questions that invite deeper conversations, creating opportunities for genuine connection.
Listen for Connection Points: Learn the skill of active listening to uncover shared experiences and establish rapport effortlessly.
Go into Conversation with the Intention of Getting to Know the Person: Explore the transformative power of approaching conversations with a genuine curiosity about others.
Through practical exercises and thoughtful reflection, this worksheet will empower you to enhance your interpersonal skills, fostering stronger, more authentic relationships in both your personal and professional life. Let's get started on the path to more meaningful connections.
As we start a year of discipleship there is only one way to begin any journey – PRAYER. In this episode of the POPCAST we will talk about living a life on prayer and what prayer can look like for you as you go out with Jesus to help others see Jesus. We will talk through three areas of prayer for you:
Why should I pray?
What do I pray about?
How do I pray as I GO to help others connect with Jesus?
As leaders and people who disciple others most of the time we are looking out for others and making sure they are OK. However, many times we are never looking at ourselves to make sure we are doing OK. The facts are that about 80% of the thoughts we have every day are negative or of the 6000 thoughts you have a day 4800 are negative thoughts and that is if you are not dealing with a diagnosed form of mental illness (depression, anxiety, etc.). This week on the pod cast we are going to talk through some things that can and will help you deal with your mind and help you be better, feel better, and heal.
Friends we have a problem, and it has been happening for a long time – THE CHURCH IS SHRINKING! If we do not do something the church will be gone soon. There is only one true way to “save” the church, DISCIPLESHIP.
Discipleship is not about some great program, path, or even line that will get you to tell the Gospel message. It is about relationships, friendships, and intentionality. Today we explore Pastor Matt’s first book about relational discipleship. In this book Matt talks about what it looks like to be a disciple and what true relational discipleship is all about. The art of relational discipleship is based on the four Cs:
CONNECT
CARE
COMMUNITY
CHRIST
Using these four Cs relational discipleship can start. All it starts with is the phrase, “How are you doing?” and let the conversation and relationship take you to a place where Jesus is seen and experienced.
Who are you leading and who are you discipling? Who do I choose to help me? Finding someone to help in your group or to disciple in your life can be hard. But we have been given an example of what this can look like. The person who modeled this for us is Jesus. How he led and walked with the disciples and lead them to be leaders and be better disciples for the kingdom.
In this month’s podcast we will talk through this process and what that looks like for you and your group as well as what that will look like as you disciple others. you can find the leader guide HERE.
Discipleship or group life depends on connecting with people. This can get complicated when we see people at work and at home. Our friend circles are very small at times. So how do we create avenues for people to connect and grow as friends so they can grow closer to you and then grow as a disciple. It is a Missional Community Night.
On this month’s podcast we will talk about:

At this time of year group time can be difficult. Why? Christmas is over and now we see the earth as barren. The sun is out less, the trees do not have leaves, and it is COLD. This leads to people staying to themselves and can make group time more difficult.
In this month’s episode, we will explore what you can do in your group to combat these feelings and how to help your group find the “cure” to the winter blues. You can find the PDF for this episode HERE
In this podcast we ‘ll talk about the season of Christmas and how to enjoy the holiday in your group and while discipling others. In my opinion, Christmas is the most wonderful time of year, but a lot is going on, and we are all very busy. How do you make your group both a priority as well as celebrate Christ’s birth? To help you and your groups, I will talk through tsome great ideas so you can make your time together amazing and fun.
In this podcast we talk about how to care for people both in your group as well as in your life. This is part of the discipleship process and how to love one another. The values at Prince of Peace encompass the idea of caring for other. These values are:
As you look at these values and all they are about, you need to ask yourself these questions about your personal life as well as your group life.

Have you been looking for the newest and best discipleship program for your church? Are you struggling to find the best way to help people see Jesus and experience His love? Maybe discipleship is not about what you do but it is about how you lead other to live in everyday life with people in their life. Maybe discipleship is about the phrase, “How are you doing?” During our time together we will learn about methods that have helped in discipleship at Prince of Peace and how these may be incorporated into your ministry. We will also share with each other, ways we are developing and growing disciples and through relational ministry.
There is a tendency in Group Ministry to view yourself as the leader or the facilitator of your group and that may be all. The truth is you are not only the leader/facilitator you are also a discipler of the people in your group
In this month’s episode, we will explore what it looks like to move from being a leader to being a discipler in your group.
We are all disciplers for teh Word of God! How can we do this in our everyday life. Today we kick off this years POPCast by looking at Acts 2:42-47 and seeing how their example of life in Christ looks for us today.
At the end of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus introduces, through the Parable of the Wise and Foolish builder, the two fundamental questions of Christian spirituality: What is God saying to you and what are you going to do about it? But how can we do what God is asking of us if we don’t know what he’s saying? What Jesus illuminates in Mark 1:14-15, is how to discern what God is saying. There are times when it feels like our world and God’s world are colliding (called a Kairos). When we have those times, we can step more fully into the Kingdom and wrestle with these two questions through a process of Repent and Believe.
In a brick wall, a brick is connected in all directions. It is not simply connected just up or just down. They are connected to the bricks below, to then side, and above them. So, as a member of the body of Christ, it is crucial that we press into all facets of our wall: above, beside, and below.
We see this play out in 1 Corinthians 4:14-17 Paul in a relationship with Corinth. In fact, he says he is their father. He is saying look I taught you, I gave you the information you need. Now I am sending Timothy and you need to imitate him in what you do and how you act. Which is who you are in Jesus.
This idea of relational ministry is not new take a look at Jesus disciples and dealings with others. Jesus taught all the time (Sermon on the mount, feeding the five thousand, and many more.) Even in Luke 10:37 he tells an expert in the law to “Go and do likewise” when teaching the parable of the Good Samaritan. Jesus tells his disciples and us to do what he did go and talk with people, teaching them, show them, and let them go.
Is your life in balance? Are you living a life that looks to God, connects with others, and helps the world? Today we will talk about living a balanced life of discipleship; both what that is and how you can.
Nope I am not referring to a quote from Joey Tribbiani from the show Friends. This is for you, how are you? We get asked that all the time and it is always referring to a person’s physical and/or emotional state, but what about your spiritual state, how you doin?
As a leader you are pulled in a lot of different directions. There is family, work, church, organizations, and so much more. But what about yourself? Are you taking time to make sure you are OK? As a Christian, the first place we need to do a check-up is spiritually. In our time together here you will be given some very basic ideas and questions to ask yourself to make sure you are doing well spiritually.
To help you grow as a guide of others we should take a look at ourselves in the mirror and check-up, spiritually.
