Failure is such a dirty word and often causes angst and self loathing in all of us! This perception has led to a long history in humanity of self destruction, self neglect, and self sabotage. It doesn’t need to be that way!The Teachable Soul exists to help redefine failures as teachable moments. So that we can learn from our mistakes, grow from them, and do better. We believe all teachable souls deserve to live a confident and fulfilling life.

In-Print: Self Published Must Reads
Over the course of the next few months I intend on interviewing and sharing ONLY self-published authors and their books. Writing and publishing a book is a huge deal and should be celebrated. Over the course of the next few months we're going to talk about real stories, their origins, and teachable moments along the way.
Carl Willis wrote Me And Your Momma: A Long Story Short You can click the link to buy if you're interested. I met Carl on Clubhouse, the social app, and his book information was in his Instagram bio (also linked) and as soon as I read the description below I knew I had to interview him for this series! In this episode, Carl and I go deeper on all of the issues he touches on in his book and his personal experiences.
Me and Your Mama: A Long Story Shortis the result of 5 years of reflection, therapy, and personal accountability from the author. It dispels the myth of black men's unwillingness to do either therefore passing down trauma to their kids. This book wrestles with the importance of healing from childhood trauma, police misconduct, and forgiveness. This journey to healing begins in the small town of Thomaston, Georgia, and leads him through several cities throughout the east coast where he learned valuable lessons. By combining his own story with wisdom given through various sources, Carl Willis hopes Me and Your Mama: A Long Story Short will empower you to seek your own healing.
More about the author: Carl Willis is an author and aspiring screenplay writer from Thomaston Ga. He is a father and a lover of all things music and art. His latest book called Me & Your Mama: A Long Story Short discusses the importance of fatherhood, co parenting do’s and don’ts, and the importance of healing from childhood trauma and forgiveness. It’s available now on Amazon with the audiobook soon coming to streaming platforms.

I have asked her here today to discuss a topic that affects my household because we just recently figured out that my husband is most likely on the spectrum. When we figured it out, I wondered how many other households it has affected before they either figured it out, or if there are households where some may never have figured out this puzzle piece, so to speak. So my husband, Jessie Daniels, will also be joining Grace and I today as well, to discuss our relationship and what it's like being a neurodiverse couple. Prior to becoming a full-time real estate entrepreneur, Agostino served at C-level executive roles with private and publicly traded international companies, managed millions in capital and operating budgets, and lead global technology groups to business success. Furthermore, he built and launched various businesses from scratch, from mobile apps to tech companies and large asset management companies.
After experiencing both great successes and flat-out disasters in the business world, Agostino realized that while he was working in executive roles and building companies that went up and fell down, his real estate portfolio kept producing income - month over month - steadily for years! This catalyst made him quit the rat race. He abandoned plans for yet another tech startup and decided to double-down on his real estate business.
Today, Agostino uses his experience as an entrepreneur and C-level executive to help others gain the mindset, knowledge, and confidence to start or grow their real estate businesses. He motivates his students, followers, and clients to make success a priority in their lives and to move beyond the comfort zone known as the ‘middle class’ to achieve true financial freedom for themselves and their families.

Kathy Partak - Winners Quit and Quitters Win
Serial entrepreneur, writer, and speaker, Kathy has a unique perspective on communication and a talent for connecting and engaging with her audiences. She is setting a new standard for how to speak with intention, specifically how to view conversations differently and communicate with confidence.
“Winners Quit and Quitters Win – There are times in life when quitting is the appropriate action. Every great success story has one or more elements of when it was the right move to quit. But we feel like we can’t because we have so much invested, people will judge us, we will let people down, and the lust goes on and on. We had a plan and when it was time to quit, it was painstakingly hard, but the amazing things that happened could not have been predicted. I’m an eternal optimist but you will never hear me say, “Winners never quit, and quitters never win.” I’m a quitter and I won big! I would love to connect if this speaks to you.”

**Parul is a storyteller on a mission to help fellow coaches be seen and heard through the power of their personal stories. She is passionate about helping people be seen and heard because she stands against the concept that people should go through the motions of life without being seen and heard. Not being seen and heard impacts our worthiness. One of the biggest gifts we can give people is to make them believe that they are worthy. She uses coaching, speaking and storytelling as tools to achieve this goal. She is also the author of "My Cancer Journey - A rendezvous with myself".

David C. Smalley - Single Fatherhood
David Smalley is a comedian, actor, podcast host, and author. On his podcast, Dogma Debate, he combines his love for entertainment and media with his passion for skepticism. Dogma Debate is a podcast focused on educating the public with humor and unique, respectful discussions.
David has appeared on CNN, FOX, NewsMaxTV, The Adam Carolla Show, Mohr Stories w/ Jay Mohr, and many radio shows and podcasts, encouraging humanism and extending peaceful and respectful challenges to dogmatic claims. We are fortunate to have him as our guest today to talk about parenting, but specifically single fatherhood.
**Since the passing of my father last year, I wanted to do something special to still celebrate father’s. I wanted to speak to David on this topic to get the perspective of a single father, but also because I was partially raised by a single father and I think that our combined experiences and discussion here today will help other single father’s out there or future single father’s.

Dr. Travis G. Parry is the founder of the Make Time Institute. He’s earned several degrees in family and social science to better understand goal achievement and family relationships. He helps business owners and financial professionals be more productive at work so they can make more time for their own goals and family relationships.
In this episode I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Parry about fatherhood and working men. We discussed how he helps workaholic fathers to have better life balance all around, why he chose to do this, and why it’s important to all families.
I think women and men alike will get soo sooo much good information out of this episode and from Dr. Parry in general.

I wanted to post this episode mostly just so people can know what to do if you feel injustices are happening. I have felt powerless and angry before so if you are feeling that way here is just one way that you can feel heard and maybe less powerless.
My opinion may not be perfect on this or any matter, but this is what I can tell you through my experiences. I do not like double standards. That probably the one thing I can say irritates me the most in this world. I believe a double standard is happening and that's why I stand with the Black Lives Matter movement. I implore you all to contact your state representatives if you think of a potential law that should be in place to help any situation. But in this time, I believe Black lives need us all to come together as one, speak up, and get things done.

Chelle Shapiro is a productivity coach and activational speaker who empowers young women to work smarter & feel better by structuring their day with actions that move them to succeed.
Chelle writes, “I'm in my mid-thirties. I recently left a 13-year career because it was a toxic environment and I wasn't going anywhere but down. I was burnt out and sick, both physically and mentally. I didn't have any boundaries in place or know what they even looked like to try and stand up for myself, take care of myself or do anything to get me out of it these situations. Everywhere I turned, another person was telling me "you can do it," "just keep at it," "it will get better," "stick it out," "be the bigger person," and "don't worry, I'm here for you." At the end of the day, it was just me. No one was there for me. Or at least I didn't feel it. No one had my best interests in mind. They only cared that I kept getting things done for them.
If only... someone would have taken me by the shoulders and said "Girl! What are you doing? You need to get out of this!" I didn't have that.
