Soul-strengthened leadership begins when we turn aside, encounter God’s presence, and discover that the calling rests on Him, not us.
The collapse of self-made leadership is not the end of God's story in a leader's life - it is often the beginning of it, the moment when God's deepest formation work begins.
Remembrance Psalms deepen our relationship with God by anchoring our present trust in His past faithfulness, shaping our identity and strengthening the faith of the next generation.
Penitential psalms deepen our relationship with God by leading us through honest confession into restoring grace, reminding us that repentance is not the end of intimacy with God, but the pathway back to it.
Imprecatory psalms deepen our relationship with God by teaching us to bring our anger over injustice into His presence, entrusting judgment to Him and anchoring our outrage in trust rather than rage.
Royal psalms deepen our relationship with God by forming our trust and allegiance in Him as King, teaching us where true authority, security, and hope are found in every season.
Thanksgiving psalms deepen our relationship with God by giving voice to gratitude, helping us remember how God has met us personally and respond with trust, praise, and growing love.
Lament psalms teach us that going deeper with God does not mean hiding our pain, but bringing it honestly into His presence, where faith and suffering can be held together in trust.
Praise Psalms deepen our relationship with God by shifting our focus from ourselves to who God is, teaching us to express our delight in Him and grow in love through wonder and awe.
The Church exists to continue God’s mission—sent into the world to work, witness, and worship—so that all nations might come to know and glorify the living God.
The mission of God becomes visible in Jesus—He is the good news, the King who brings God’s reign. To follow Him is to live under His rule and join His kingdom mission.
We were made to be worn by God—clothed in love, joy, peace, patience, justice, mercy, and humility—so that the world might see His beauty in our lives and be drawn to Him.
God’s people are redeemed people—called to be priestly and holy so that the nations might know Him.
In Abraham, God launched a mission to redeem the nations—and in Christ, we are heirs of that mission, sent into the world to be a blessing.
This week, we pause our "Find Your Place" sermon series to gather together for a Worship Experience. As we move into this space, we encourage you start a Discipleship Conversation.
From Genesis to Revelation, creation is not a backdrop—it’s part of the mission. We are stewards of what God made and what Christ came to redeem.
From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible reveals one unified story: the mission of God to redeem all creation. Our purpose is to join God in His mission.
After accomplishing the greatest feat in history, Jesus doesn’t just try to prove the resurrection, he pursues people.
In Jesus’ final prayer, he reveals what he intends to accomplish through his death and through his followers.
Jesus is the humble I AM who leads by example - calling us to use our influence not to be served, but to serve others in love.
Jesus is the resurrection and the life who meets us in our grief, invites us to believe in his power even before we see it, and calls the dead places in our lives back to life.
Jesus is the Good Shepherd who stays, speaks, and saves—offering the only voice we can fully trust in a world full of substitutes that steal, abandon, or let us down.
Jesus is the illuminating I AM who opens our eyes not just to see, but to truly know and worship him–leading us on a journey from healing to wholehearted faith and worship.
Jesus is the Spirit-giving I AM who fills us with living water—not just to quench our thirst, but to overflow with life and blessing to the world around us.
Jesus is the sustaining and satisfying I AM who invites us to stop chasing temporary fulfillment and find true, lasting nourishment in him.
Jesus is the seeing and restoring I AM who meets us in our stuck places, cuts through our excuses, and invites us to receive his healing.
Jesus is the pursuing and compassionate I AM who crosses every barrier to offer living water that satisfies our deepest thirst...motivating us to cross barriers to reach others.
Jesus is the I AM who offers new life—not through effort or religion, but through surrender to the Spirit’s transforming power.
Jesus is the gracious and generous I AM who meets our needs—and calls us to show that same grace and generosity to others.
Jesus creates space for us to come and see who God truly is—so that we can create spaces where others can encounter him through us.
Even when God feels silent, He is faithfully working out His promises for those who are struggling and for those who are striving.
God is already at work in your vulnerability, providing a covenantal love that allows you to risk loving others.
God is already at work in your labor, bringing grace through your courage and character.
When we fully commit to God's movement, what starts as a spark becomes a wildfire—igniting hearts, equipping every believer, and transforming neighborhoods until righteousness and praise spring up in every corner of our world.
The future of the church and the healing of a broken world depends on what we plant in the next generation now.
You are called to be priests of the Lord, ministers of our God, representing and re-presenting Jesus wherever you go.
Every Heart on Fire: The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon us, igniting our hearts and leading us to live sacrificially for others.
Welcome to Week 7 of our Teleios series! This week, we focus on the importance of living out our faith and leaving a legacy of character and faithfulness. As we delve into our discussion, let's reflect on how we can celebrate, connect, and contribute to God's mission.
The blessed don’t just admire God’s Word and walk away unchanged. They embody what they see and it reshapes how they live and who they serve.
Words shape worlds, but wisdom begins in silence; God's transformative truth takes root in hearts stilled by listening, not stirred by anger.
Every temptation falsely promises a birth, but delivers death. God offers us genuine rebirth through truth, making us the first examples of His new creation.
In God's kingdom, status symbols wither like flowers in the desert sun. What the world calls 'success' often fails God's prosperity test.
Wisdom isn't just knowledge; it's skill for living. A double-minded person receives nothing because they're trying to travel two roads at once.
Trials aren't roadblocks—they're the road to maturity. Like a refiner's fire, they burn away impurities, leaving only what's authentic and valuable in your faith.
In our current series, we'll uncover how the book of Acts serves not just as a collection of inspiring historical moments, but as an invitation to embrace a new life.
God addresses the world’s biggest problems by giving vision and forming relationships in order for new realities to emerge.
Saul’s transformation reminds us that no one is beyond God’s reach, and Ananias shows us that everyone has a role to play in the story.
By being open to unexpected detours, we can follow the Spirit’s leading into unexpected encounters that result in unexpected family.
Stephen models the courage to be a faithful witness of King Jesus in a hostile culture.
As the Holy Spirit empowers signs and wonders among us, we bear witness to our surrounding culture of the new life available in Jesus.
The Spirit empowers us to boldly proclaim the priorities of Jesus and wait expectantly for God to move.
The Holy Spirit empowers us to see the needs of those around us so that we can pastor them by offering what we’ve received.
The gospel is the good news that Jesus is King, and it requires a life-altering response.
The Holy Spirit is the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise and central to the life of a follower of Jesus and to the church.
In our seasons of waiting, followers of Jesus turn to Prayer, Scripture, and Community.
Mission is the logical response to Jesus’ ascension and promise to send the Holy Spirit.
This past Sunday was a Worship Experience Sunday, which means our only aim was to spend time adoring our God and King. Let’s look deeper into the Scriptures used as the foundation for our Worship Experience and end our group time with a call to fast and pray this week.
On Palm Sunday, the way of the Lamb reveals Jesus as the King of peace, and calls us to follow as a nation of priests.
We can find hope in the midst of our chaotic world as we look to the power of the Lion, the sacrifice of the Lamb, and the sovereignty of God’s plan
When we see the throne of God, we become fully captivated by His holiness, completely surrendered to His will, and passionately devoted to His glory above all else.
Jesus challenges us to a heart check: If we do not exchange our worldly values for Kingdom values, our hearts won’t be on fire for God.
Jesus challenges us to a heart check: If we fall asleep in our faith, our hearts won’t be on fire for God.
Jesus challenges us to a heart check: If we compromise with our culture’s sexual values and practices, our hearts won’t be on fire for God.
Jesus challenges us to a heart check: If we pursue comfort over faithfulness, our hearts won’t be on fire for God.
Jesus challenges us to a heart check: If we have the right beliefs but don’t have love, our hearts won’t be on fire for God.
Revelation is a unique book that unveils the deeper realities of our world and our hearts to encourage and challenge Jesus’ imperfect church.
Daily we pray, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one,” asking God to deliver us from temptation.
Daily we pray, “forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors,” so that every day we can live in the freedom of forgiveness.
Pastor John teaches from Jeremiah 29 on a vision for why God wants Christians to live in the city
Daily we pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” as we submit to the will of God.
Today we carve out a special day that we call Worship Experience Sunday, where our primary aim was to spend time adoring our God and King.
Catalyzing a global movement of small groups and MicroChurches as we transform our world one person and one neighborhood at a time. We can’t catalyze this movement until we become a thriving church ourselves.
Concluding of the service with the baptism of Dylan Gann
Raising up a dynamic generation who are grounded in their identity in Jesus, confident in their faith, and passionate about sharing God’s love with their friends.
Equipping and unleashing disciples who embody a deep, personal commitment to living out their God given calling with the pastoral heart of Jesus in every arena of life
Igniting a profound spiritual awakening as we become a vibrant community, devoted to Jesus, committed to Scripture, and expectant of the Spirit’s power in our lives and our gatherings.
God’s faithfulness over the last 35 years is the foundation for the new thing God is doing now.
This week, we help to prepare the way for King Jesus, we worship him with our whole being.
To prepare the way for King Jesus, we must repent by turning away from the idols of our hearts.
Bedtime habits can help us end the day in a way that promotes rest, reflection, and connection.
When it comes to screentime habits, limits keep us from being enslaved by our phones so that the Holy Spirit can grow fruit in our lives.
Mealtime habits are the center of our relationships, which we can use to deepen belonging and to intentionally bless others.
Adopting a set of shared habits around ordinary moments of our day can help us stay connected to God and grow as a follower of Jesus.
When it comes to work, the way of wisdom leads to purpose, while the ways of foolishness lead to emptiness.
When it comes to finances, the way of wisdom leads to contentment, while the ways of foolishness lead to dissatisfaction
When it comes to our words, the way of wisdom builds up, the ways of foolishness tear down.
For week four of Spiritual Warfare: Renewing Our Minds, Pastor John Perrine wraps up the series by diving into the most SIGNIFICANT part: how each of us can partner with the Spirit of God as he works to renew and transform our minds.
For week two of our series Spiritual Warfare: Renewing Our Minds, Community Pastor John Perrine discusses how each of us is equipped to fight off the enemy and all of his mind games.
For week two of our series Spiritual Warfare: Renewing Our Minds, Founding Pastor Jon Ferguson discusses how each of us is equipped to fight off the enemy and all of his mind games.
For week one of our series Spiritual Warfare: Renewing Our Minds, Jon Hughes talks about the power of our thoughts, and how we need to become more aware of the spiritual warfare that most of us are fighting each and every day. Or in other words, the battle for our minds.
Any disciple of Jesus can become a disciple-maker. And when every disciple becomes a disciple-maker, we will change the world.
Any disciple of Jesus can become a disciple-maker. You have the ability to meet your disciples' needs.
Any disciple of Jesus can become a disciple-maker. What makes someone an effective disciple-maker are practices you have the ability to do.
Any disciple of Jesus can become a disciple maker. The first step is to identify your Timothy.
Disciples of Jesus are identified by their countercultural willingness to deny themselves.
Disciples of Jesus are identified by their countercultural willingness to deny themselves.
When we live out the B.L.E.S.S. practices, we will revive evangelism and the lost will find their way back to God.
If we are going to revive evangelism, it starts with what we value. We need to value what God values.
If we are going to fulfill the vision of Jesus (Acts 1:8), we must be about the mission of Jesus (Luke 19:10) and that means we must revive evangelism.
God communicates with us through other people. Practicing simple prophecy can help us strengthen, encourage, and comfort others with Spirit-prompted words.
God communicates with us through his Spirit within us who gently whispers to our hearts and our minds.
Each year, we designate our weekend offering to support our partner initiatives to accomplish the Jesus Mission. We call this weekend Celebration Generosity.
God communicates to us through Scripture. We hear from God by listening to Scripture with our heads and our hearts.
The primary way God has spoken to the world is in Jesus. Hearing God begins with meeting Jesus.
So here’s something to consider...💭 A similar thing is true when it comes to Scripture. When we read the Bible, what we see is somewhat limited by our viewpoints and experiences. On our own, we likely aren’t getting the whole picture. And this is why we were meant to explore the kingdom together! In order to see all that God has for us in His word, we need to hear from others. We can learn a lot from someone else’s perspective. This is the third and final week of our series Kingdom Perspectives! Let us know your thoughts below!
In Part 2 of our Kingdom Perspectives series, you’ll hear the story of the Rich Young Ruler and how to enter the Kingdom of God from different cultural perspectives. Jesus’ answer might surprise you!
We have a strong desire for deep meaningful relationships! And, so do our kids. We don’t want the kids in our lives to experience the loneliness that has so plagued this generation. Instead, we want our kids to have deep, meaningful, and life-giving friendships – the kind God created us to experience. After you watch the talk, let us know your thoughts. How can you pursue a meaningful relationship with a kid or teenager in your life?
Parents are strategically placed to help their children start a journey toward the YOU+ life Jesus came to bring.
God created the church as a community of people committed to living out their allegiance to Jesus by gathering to worship him, sharing life with one another, and carrying out his mission in this world.
The resurrection of Jesus means that we have PEACE with God!!! He is risen! And now we get to share his peace with each other and take his peace out to the world. He didn’t just want you to receive his peace, he also wanted you to pass on his peace to others. He wants you to be a PEACE ambassador! After you watch the talk, let us know your thoughts below! How can you spread PEACE to the world?
“Blessed are the peacemakers…” Matthew 5:9 Those are Jesus’ own words. And he longs to lead us in his way of making peace. That’s right! Jesus longs to bring you True Peace and lead you in his way of peacemaking! Imagine this… What if every person and community lived in peace with God and each other? We would experience the relational and societal flourishing Jesus longs to bring! So for today, Palm Sunday, let’s spend our time together talking about how we can follow Jesus in his way of peacemaking.
This week you will be challenged to see things from a different perspective. Everyone has their own perspective - It’s only natural. Each person is shaped by their own culture, experiences, and traditions, and sometimes that creates a challenge. You may not be able to see the complete picture or gain the fullest understanding if you are relying on your own experience. But what if you looked into the lives of those around you from a different perspective? That is what this series is about and this week we are looking at the parable of the Prodigal Son from different perspectives.
Disciples of Jesus disentangle themselves from the idolatry of wealth and possessions by seeking God’s Kingdom first.
Disciples of Jesus engage Scripture, God’s Word, for the purpose of heart transformation.
Disciples of Jesus continually look for ways to reveal the presence of Jesus and the availability of his Kingdom to the watching world.
Disciples of Jesus adopt his upside-down way of thinking as they follow him in the ways of his Kingdom.
Most people in our world live a YOU life. But Jesus came to bring us a different kind of life…a flourishing kind of life… what we’re calling the YOU+ life.
The YOU+ life is a flourishing life lived as a disciple of Jesus. What is a disciple? A person who hears from God and does what he says. Today, we are beginning not just a series that can lead you into this YOU+ life; we’re beginning a new season here at COMMUNITY centered on helping one another live this YOU+ life as disciples of Jesus. We want to invite you to have a YOU+ conversation.
That's right; it's time for our Christmas series! God has been doing so many amazing things in and through our church lately, and we are so grateful. But the truth is the past couple of years have been TOUGH… One thing specifically is that we’ve all had to wait. Waiting for answers. Waiting for people. Waiting for clarity. Waiting is hard. Very hard. So, what if there was a purpose to all of this waiting? After all, God does some of his best work when we wait. After you watch the message, let us know your thoughts below! What does waiting mean to you?
Let’s celebrate!
Today we are celebrating the work we have done over the past five weeks in our series, Starting Over. Regrets are not an easy thing to talk about… but, you have done the work! Remember, God CAN redeem your regrets. You CAN jump out of the sorry cycle and you CAN jump into the Starting Over Loop.
So, celebrate with us! There are so many things to be excited about, including the testimonies and baptisms of people who God has transformed!
Living beyond your regrets is not a one-time fix, but a discipline God can help you employ whenever you need it.
In order to fully exit the “sorry cycle” and start over, we need to allow God to redeem our regrets, trusting him to make something good out of them.
In order to be free from the “sorry cycle” and the burden that holding on to regret can have on us, we must move to the second step: release.
In order to break out of the “sorry cycle” of longing and regret, we must first recognize our regret to understand what it is we are feeling sorry about.
When we learn to love our regrets, we can grow from them and discover that it’s never too late to start over.
The Bible can be shown to be a reliable document, accurately recorded and transmitted through history, endorsed and authorized by Jesus, and relevant to life in the 21st century.
While God does not provide the reason for each experience of pain, in Jesus he identified with our suffering. We can find God’s presence and his goodness even in our hardest seasons.
When it comes to “faith and doubt,” the most important word is actually “and.” We need the possibility of doubt to choose faith.
In the middle of all the challenges in life, following Jesus in his Kingdom way is the path to peace.
Our allegiance is to Jesus and his Kingdom, and we aim to continually mature in our faith as his followers.
Let your commitment to follow Jesus give you the courage to stand up for what is right knowing God will be with you in the challenge.
Through his Word and through his Presence, God will give us the courage to move forward.
There is YOU, but then there’s YOU+. What would it look like to be a better, flourishing version of you as a follower of Jesus? At COMMUNITY, we want to help you find your way back to God and become the best version of yourself. YOU+
We advance the Jesus Mission when we reproduce small groups. That means reproducing Christ-followers, apprentices, leaders, and groups!
All of us will experience times in our life when we need the support and accountability of other people. Connecting in a Small Group is like a retirement account: if you wait, it won’t be there when you need it.
We’re created for community. We’re wired for connection. We experience community in a small group
We can experience the truth of Jesus’ words, “It is more blessed to give than to receive,” when we trust God and give
We can break free from the stress of debt by following God’s wisdom in our financial decisions.
We can find freedom in our finances by replacing the lie that “more is better” with the truth that “less is more.”
The Holy Spirit empowers us, inviting us to be conduits for God’s mission and miracles.
The Holy Spirit equips us, giving spiritual gifts to every follower of Jesus for the common good.
The Holy Spirit frees us, leading us out of the slavery of our selfishness into the freedom of Jesus’ way of human flourishing.
The world needs Jesus. Therefore, the world needs people on mission who are deeply formed in the image of Christ.
To be deeply formed into the image of Christ, we must give ourselves to relationships that cultivate sexual wholeness.
To be deeply formed into the image of Christ, we must engage in habits that can help bring racial solidarity in the church and to the world.
To be deeply formed into the image of Christ, we must understand our own emotions so that we can learn to love well.
To be deeply formed into the image of Christ, we must slow down to enter a place of solitude and stillness before God.
What we believe is a never-ending story that acknowledges the reality of heaven and hell. God’s desire is that every person will follow King Jesus and experience life in his Kingdom community forever. That is why we believe the most important thing we can do in this life is to help people find their way back to God.
We believe the Kingdom of God is “now and not yet.” During this time, we are called to join King Jesus in carrying out his mission, including pursuing justice, until he comes again and the Kingdom is fully restored.
We believe the church is God’s Kingdom community, joined together in allegiance to King Jesus and called to live out shared practices that help more and more people find their way back to God.
We believe the Holy Spirit is God himself taking up residence in us to empower us to follow King Jesus in the ways of his Kingdom
We believe Jesus is King and we are called to follow him as his Kingdom community of apprentices.
COMMUNITY's annual weekend where we give away our entire offering in support of partner initiatives that support the Jesus Mission locally, regionally, and globally.
We believe our story is rooted in the story of Israel in the Old Testament. Their story points us forward to our need for a King to rescue and lead us.
We believe that sin is what fractures our relationship with God, each other, and the world; but God never gives up on his dream of a Kingdom community.
We believe in a relational God who created a good world where we could live as his Kingdom community.
We can approach the Bible as an opportunity for a relational encounter with God, letting him speak to us as we read, reflect, and respond.
When a person is invited, amazing things can happen. People begin to find their way back to God. And God can begin to change the world, one life at a time.
At Community, we're thrilled to welcome Dr. Brenda Salter McNeil, an author, professor, speaker, and pastor, and a leader in the church’s racial reconciliation efforts. During this talk, she covers why racial reconciliation is biblical, necessary, and urgent, and how we can become part of the movement - as churches and individuals. She challenges us to move beyond temporary, surface-level attempts at racial reconciliation, and on to the real, sustaining, long-term changes.
A growing relationship with God will naturally expand what is supernaturally plausible.
Lead Pastor Dave Ferguson interviews leading theologian Scot McKnight on the topic of King Jesus & Politics.
Looking back, God has faithfully led us through a challenging year and his mission advanced. Looking ahead, God is calling us to make the most of the opportunities as a Hybrid Church.
Following Jesus in his way of being human means learning to live dependent on the Spirit like Jesus was dependent on the Spirit.
Following Jesus in his way of being human means learning to resist temptation by grounding our identity in God.
Following Jesus in his way of being human means continually taking next steps to grow as his apprentices.
Apprenticing Jesus involves reorienting our lives around three relationships including loving people in the world.
Apprenticing Jesus involves reorienting our lives around three relationships including loving people in the Church.
Becoming an apprentice of Jesus involves reorienting our lives around three relationships including loving God.
Apprentices of Jesus are committed to the practices of Jesus, the “radical minimums” of apprenticeship.
“Lord, awaken us to the responsibility of your mission and the power you have given us to carry it out.”
“Lord, help us to be a blessing to the people and in the places where we have been sent.”
“Lord, help us let go of anything distracting us from your presence so that we can lean into intimacy with you.”
“Lord, help us to recognize the people you’ve put in our path and respond to them as you responded to us.”
We, as the church, are to be carriers of God’s hope. We have an incredible opportunity to bring his hope to everyone!
God is with us wherever we go, so we do not need to be afraid of any situation or circumstance.
Even when things don’t go our way, we can remain hopeful because of the hope Christ brings.
The only proper response to the Sermon on the Mount is to follow the King in the ways of his Kingdom.
The way of Jesus exposes our misguided pursuit for significance and invites us into a better way.
COMMUNITY's annual weekend where we give away our entire offering in support of teams that are reaching, restoring and reproducing the Jesus Mission locally and around the world.
Comfort can be very good, but comfort becomes a problem when it is seen not as a gift but a destination. To live out our calling as “sent,” there are times when comfort has to go.
Because God is relational, we are relational. We are not wired for isolation but sent into the world to cultivate relationships.
We are not spiritual consumers; we are spiritual contributors. The church does not exist for us, we exist for the world. Jesus has sent us to help people find their way back to God.
To have emotionally healthy relationships, eliminate “dirty fighting” tactics and fight cleanly for the sake of the relationship.
To have emotionally healthy relationships, understand and own your thoughts and feelings so you can live your true self.
To have emotionally healthy relationships, listen with empathy to the words and nonverbal communication of others.
To have emotionally healthy relationships, honestly examine your emotions and motivations so that you know yourself and can love people and God better.
To have emotionally healthy relationships, stop mind-reading and clarify expectations by talking to people–in person instead of in your head.
Surrender is coming to the Father to submit ourselves to his kingdom, power, and glory.
Pausing and seeking God's wisdom for how we can pray for our neighbors and nation during this time of unrest.
Salvation isn’t just about some place we’ll go after we die, it’s about a present way of living in an interactive relationship with God that transforms everything about our lives right now.
Life is not about you, but about you being a willing participant in a larger mystery, and God will use anything (including pain) to mold you into the likeness of Christ so you can shine brightly in the story He’s writing for our world.
When our faith is tested, and God seems silent, rather than chasing down another way to peace, trust that the one who has been faithful will, once again, be faithful to the end.
Winning like a Hero Maker requires a shift from counting my own successes to counting Kingdom successes.
