This podcast interviews veterans of the esports broadcasting community to talk purely about commentating. Each episode is between 60-75 minutes long and discusses things such as approach to casting, how to become a caster, what works in an esports production, the challenges of being a commentator, and much more. Many different esports will be represented over the course of the podcast, but the initial content will be about SC2 casters. Vansilli boasts one of the oldest resumes in esports, finding his start in casting way back in the 2000s with CS:GO 1.5. Despite working with many of the other OGs of the esports scene, Vansilli may seem like a new face, really finding his footing concretely with the release of Valorant. It's a unique esports tale - perhaps he had the opportunity to be "at the right place at the right time" in the early 2010s, but decided instead to take a step back from esports right before CS:GO's big boom and work full-time at a non-esports job for years. Doug might seem like one of the freshest faces in esports, but he's actually far from it. While a fresh face to prestigious tournament broadcasting, Doug has been involved in the competitive side of video games since Halo 2. Medic is one of three play-by-play commentators for the LEC, or the League of Legends European Championship. His climb to the top of the LoL casting scene (and as such, arguably the top of e-sports casting) was relatively fast, having started with Vainglory in 2016 and appearing in the 2017 Spring EU CS shortly after. In this interview he briefly touches on his interesting background as a trained doctor and decision to move into casting, how initially he was rejected from casting LoL, and how he eventually found himself in a position to hone his craft at the top of the e-sports industry.

Frodan got his start in StarCraft 2 after being given a chance to cast NASL on short notice. While it meant not finishing university, Frodan decided to take a risk and become a commentator. It wasn't exactly clear sailing from there, but eventually he landed on his feet as a premiere commentator, host, and Twitch community manager.

Smix got her start as a translator on TL.net back during the Brood War days, and like many of the most famous and skilled on-air talent that we have today, found herself "falling into" e-sports as a career. While many of us know her for her hosting and translating in SC2, she became a staple of the e-sports world by becoming a host for CS:GO...also somewhat by accident. Tasteless has been casting e-sports before people knew what e-sports was. Originally a Brood War player, Tasteless went to Korea to pursue a potential career that no one took seriously, and helped create the foundation of English commentating for StarCraft 2. Tasteless remains one of the best hype commentators of the e-sports world, and with his casting archon buddy Artosis, remains one of the most recognizable brands as well. We talk about his beginnings and how he had to push to even have English commentators at events, his approach to casting currently, and what he thinks the future might entail for his career.

BowieTheHero is a Smash/fighting game/variety commentator and host, working in e-sports community tournaments as well as for Nintendo. He's also a speedrunner commentator, Twitch streamer, and avid fan of stage acting. We discuss his history as a stage acting educator and how its helped shape his commentary, as well as discuss the current state of casting in fighting communities. He also talks about his methods in working with/through his stutter, a problem that many would, incorrectly, consider impossible to overcome when working in a field that focuses on voice.
