Did you know you need to be a UK homeowner to act as guarantor for you child's rent outside of halls of residents? In Bristol you do! I never knew it was an issue until now. Low income families with bright children going to university be aware. Starting a degree is not the issue but continuing to the end can be the challenge. I was shocked to hear what two parents, from A- Town South West, shared in this podcast! Black Lives, in the UK, don't seem to matter in their community and that is prior to the George Floyd incident in the USA. We are talking about London in the UK so listen and learn. My black woman thoughts around the UK churning out Covid-19 vaccine targeted at BAME. No honey you go first in line, 'me and mine' are used to being at the back of the line. We can wait little more still. My children can wait even longer. We don't believe your hype.
Talking today about raising my children through a relationship breakup. Something difficult for any wounded person to deal with when children are involved. It is never easy. Breaking patterns are hard. Do we stay scared and stuck in pain and old patterns or do we stay scared but try something new? Just to be clear I am not advising anyone to stay connected with violence or abusive partners for the sake of children. Do what is right for you!
