On Sunday, Pastor Chris continued his teaching on Spiritual Warfare and the importance of spreading the Good News rather than seeking the rapture. He also elaborated on how prayer and worship are weapons in our arsenal. God gave us worship to take our eyes off of our issues, allow us to fix our eyes, and focus on God above all else.

This past Sunday, Pastor Chris taught on the Armor of God, found in Ephesians 6, and its vitality to spiritual warfare. The Apostle Paul explains that our weapons aren't carnal but mighty through Him, who gives us access.

On Sunday, Dr. Mark Rutland spoke on his new book and drew parallels between Psalm 23 and the Lord's Prayer. Detailing his struggles with depression that inspired his book, Dr. Rutland testified how the Lord's Prayer carried him through his struggles. Dr. Rutland explained the spiritual value of these passages and how they can aid us today.

On Easter Sunday, Pastor Chris spoke on the importance and power of the resurrection of Jesus conquering death. He gave us hope for our salvation and resurrection through a relationship with Him. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in you. The resurrection underpins our whole faith and is among Christianity's most essential truths.

Yesterday, Pastor Chris taught about spiritual warfare, particularly the power of prayer in our battles. Ultimately, the battle belongs to the Lord, but we must partner with Him in prayer. As believers, we do not partner with the world but align with God’s Kingdom. Our strength comes from Him, and our fight is not against flesh and blood but against evil principalities.

Yesterday, Pastor Chris spoke on the point and power of prayer, giving personal testimony. God always hear us, provided we pray according to his will. Even if we don't see immediate results of prayer, He always works on our behalf. In addition, Pastor Chris shares tips to follow when you don't know how to pray.

On Sunday, Pastor Chris taught on the power of the Holy Spirit. He is our helper, the Paraclete prophesied by Jesus, who always brings His Word to our remembrance. While some ask if one wants to receive the Holy Spirit, a better question is this: why wouldn't you want to receive the Holy Spirit?

On Sunday, special guest Pastor Alan Wright taught about seeing the world, through Jesus's eyes. Christ invites to see reality the way He does, which Wright articulates by going over key passages in the New Testament. Overall, we should pray to see things as our Lord does.

On Sunday, Pastor Chris taught us about hearing God, whether through the Word and His Spirit, and His people. All speech and visions must be in line with His Word, completely subjected. Also, every thought needs to be taken captive; it's vital for discernment.

In his recent sermon, Pastor Chris McRae spoke on the power of prayer. Prayer not only brings us into further alignment with His will, but it never goes unheard, even when it doesn't get answered. Even in our disappointment, God always has something better in store, and His will is for our good.

Guest Dudley Hall revealed how to have a "heartburn that Tums can't fix:" knowing the Word through Jesus Christ. When reading scripture, it's paramount our hermeneutic is based on our Savior, so it fills us with life, rather than being "line by line." Overall, see the Teacher before "the lesson" itself.

On Sunday, Evangelist Andrew Cannon taught on God's power to set people free, giving his own testimony, and exegeting the Acts passage on the beggar at the gate. God doesn't give out gifts for your own enrichment, but so you can bless others, setting them free. We are blessed to be a blessing!

On Sunday, Pastor Chris explained not just how to hear God, but also what hinders us from hearing Him. Whether it's dullness of hearing, hardness of hearing, selective hearing, or no hearing at all, all of these inhibit knowing God's voice. The greatest place to find His voice and know it completely is through His Word.

On Sunday, our very own LTC Allen West preached on the centrality of Jesus Christ to our faith. While others may try to claim him, "we cannot allow anyone to take our Jesus away from us!" Thanks to Him, Christianity can even be summarized by four R's: redemption, reconciliation, restoration, and resurrection.

Invoking the Gospels, Pastor Chris McRae preached on those awaiting Christ's coming, and there always being a purpose to God's timing. As a church family, we're at a special juncture God placed us in, and we need to trust in God together.

God always has you where you're needed, so trust in His perfect planning, timing, placement, and provision. By the Blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit's guidance, you'll truly leave your past behind, and go forward into the perfect destiny God has for you

When Sojourn held its Christmas Eve service, Pastor Chris preached on the need to "lighten up." God has called us to be lights in a dark world, that we will illuminate it for Christ.
The reason for this world's condition is the enemy does all possible to keep us from seeing Jesus; we need Jesus's light to shine in the darkness. As His hands and feet, we're called to bring his Kingdom to a world in sin and darkness.
God is always working in our midst, even when it doesn't seem like it. With that in mind, let's share His light with others, and help expand His Government.

Last Sunday, Pastor Chris McRae spoke on "the Holy Spirit of Christmas." Christmas celebrates the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but it's the Holy Spirit who reveals Christ's identity to us.

It's one thing to "meet" Jesus, but it's another matter to truly know Him, which is impossible without the work of the Helper prophesied by Christ: the Holy Spirit. Anyone in Jesus is safe from sin, and He brings peace only known through the Spirit.

When you see Jesus, everything changes, and you can never be the same. He is the Truth, and the Truth shall set you free. When the Holy Spirit comes, He'll reveal and testify of Jesus.

This Sunday after our Children's Christmas Program, Executive Pastor Kevin Choate explained the true greatness of this holiday; it was the fulfillment of God's promise to send his only begotten Son.
From before the foundations of the Earth, God already planned on sending his Son to live among us, eventually dying for our sins and rising on the third day. Because of Jesus, our salvation doesn't depend on our performance, but his blood and grace instead.
Another takeaway from Christmas is that nothing can stop God's plans; the devil couldn't stop Jesus from being born. Despite the trials we may be enduring, His Kingdom always advances, and Christ is victorious through all things.

"On December 3rd, Founding Pastor Terry Moore explains that God created us to be generous. When God gives us something, it's for a reason, and it involves blessing others.

When Jesus came to Earth, he preached the gospel of God's Kingdom, which always advances. Among the ways we can help advance His Kingdom is through giving to missions and your local church.

While there's plenty of good ministry examples, you should pray about which to support before giving. Don't worry about whether you can give however, because God ensures "you will have abundance in every good work." (II Corinthians 9:8)

BUT WE WANT TO TALK ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS TO WORSHIP GOD WHEN YOU COME HERE.. NOW HERE IS A DISCLAIMER – JUST BECAUSE SOME OF YOU ARE NOT AS EXPRESSIVE WITH YOUR WORSHIP DOES NOT NESSASARILY MEAN THAT YOU ARE WORSHIPING OR NOT. WE WANT YOU TO BE FREE WHEN YOU WORSHIP! “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” (John 14, New King James Version)

DO YOU KNOW HIM AS FATHER?

The Father Revealed:

“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” The Answered Prayer: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

Jesus Promises Another Helper:

“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

Indwelling of the Father and the Son:

“A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and [f]manifest Myself to him.”

The Gift of His Peace:

“These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace, I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because [h]I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.

Fools for Christ’s Sake:

For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men condemned to death; for we have been made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored!

Paul’s Paternal Care:

I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you. For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Therefore I urge you, imitate me. For this reason I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.

TODAY I AM GOING TO BE TALKING ABOUT THE FIRST STEP –

"God put purpose on the inside of you, so that it can be birthed on the outside. So that you can fulfill His will and promises that He put on the inside of you, to those that are around us on the outside."

God has given us promise and purpose, and we must share that purpose with the world around us. Even when we experience pain and setbacks, God's purpose and plan for us will be fulfilled. The pain on the inside prepares you for the purpose on the outside.

"We know the one who knows. We know that God knows the future. He's holding your life. – He knows the beginning to the end. And He knows exactly what's going to happen for you in 2022."

THAT SOUND CHANGED MY LIFE 18 YEARS AGO. SOMETHING AS SMALL AS A BULLET CAN CAUSE SO MUCH DAMAGE. A 7.62 HOLLOWPOINT COPPER BULLET THIS LITTLE PROJECTILE THAT IS DESIGNED TO WREAK HAVOC AND DESTROY ANYTHING IN ITS PATH DID THAT TO ME ALMOST 18 YEARS AGO FOR SOME OF YOU THIS MORNING, THIS IS A REALITY. YOU ARE NOT FACING A MONSTROSITY OF A TRIBULATION. BUT SOMETHING THAT SEEMS SMALL BUT IT IS WREAKING HAVOC IN YOUR LIFE. IN YOUR MARRIAGE – IN YOUR FAMILY – ON YOUR JOB – IN YOUR RELATIONSHIPS – IN YOUR FINANCES I WANT TO TELL YOU A STORY THIS MORNING. IT IS A STORY OF: GOD REDEEMS LIFE HOW NO MATTER HOW BAD A TRIAL, TRIBULATION, OR CIRCUMSTANCE LOOKS OR IS, GOD HAS THE FINAL WORD OVER YOUR LIFE. IT IS A STORY ABOUT SALVATION. HOW OUR GOD’S EARS ARE NOT DEAF AND THE ARM OF THE LORD IS NOT SHORT. HE IS MIGHTY TO SAVE. LASTLY, IT IS A STORY ABOUT YOU. LISTEN FOR YOUR PLACE IN THE STORY. YOU HAVE A PLACE AND YOU WILL HAVE A PLACE TO RESPOND. IN NOVEMBER 2003, WE AS PASTORS GOT AWAY ON AN ANNUAL STRATEGY AND HUNTING TRIP. THAT EVENING, AFTER DINNER, I KNEW WE WOULD BE GETTING UP EARLY TO GO SIT IN A DEER STAND. SO I TOLD THE GUYS THAT I WOULD BE HEADING IN TO GO TO BED. I DID NOT GO THE NORMAL WAY BUT TOOK A LONG WAY AROUND TO A LAKE THAT WAY ON THE PROPERTY. POINT 1. “I TOOK A DETOUR” I WONDER THIS MORNING FOR SOME OF YOU SITTING HERE IN THIS SERVICE, THAT THE OUTCOME OF YOUR LIFE WAS NOT THE PATH YOU THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. FOR SOME OF YOU, YOU ARE STILL ON THIS DETOUR YOU TOLD SOME PEOPLE THAT YOU WERE GOING TO ACCOMPLISH THIS OR YOU SET OUT TO DO THAT AND YOU STILL ARE TRYING TO FIND YOUR WAY. OR YOU ARE STILL TRYING TO FIND YOUR WAY BACK. TRYING TO GET BACK ON TRACK WITH WHAT GOD HAS DESTINED YOU TO DO. THAT IS FOR SOMEBODY HERE THIS MORNING – PSALMS 37:23 SAYS THE STEPS OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN ARE ORDERED BY THE LORD AND THOUGH HE FALL, HE SHALL NOT BE UTTERLY CAST DOWN; FOR THE LORD UPHOLDS HIM WITH HIS HAND – KING DAVID GOES ON TO SAY – “I HAVE BEEN YOUNG, AND NOW AM OLD; YET I HAVE NOT SEEN THE RIGHTEOUS FORSAKEN NOR HIS DESCENDANTS BEGGING FOR BREAD” NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE ON YOUR JOURNEY – ON THE PATH OR EVEN ON A DETOUR – YOU CAN SUBMIT YOUR LIFE AND PLANS TO GOD AND HE CAN MAKE YOUR PATH STRAIGHT. PROVERBS 3:5 SAYS TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING: IN ALL OF YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, AND HE SHALL DIRECT YOUR PATH. I TOOK A DETOUR AND FOUND MYSELF AT A LAKE ON THIS RANCH WHERE I SOON HEARD 2 OF THE OTHER PASTORS OFF IN THE DISTANCE AND BEFORE I KNEW IT THEY WERE ABOUT 75 TO 100 YRDS AWAY AND ONE OF SAID THE WORDS DO YOU SEE HIM? AND BEFORE I COULD GET MY HANDS UP TO SAY ANYTHING, FOUR SHOTS RANG OUT – THE FIRST BULLET CAME IN POINT 2. I TOOK A BULLET – THE BLOOD CAME RUNNING DOWN MY SIDE INTO MY LEGS AND BOOTS. THE PAIN WAS EXCRUCIATING I WAS SCARED AND HELPLESS I COULD NOT THINK STRAIGHT SOME OF YOU THIS MORNING HAVE MAYBE NEVER BEEN SHOT. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT IT’S LIKE TO EXPERIENCE TRAUMA, TURMOIL AND CHAOS. SOME OF YOU ARE: EMOTIONALLY SHOT – THESE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS HAVE CAUSED YOU SO MUCH PAIN THAT YOU ACHE IN YOUR MIND. SPIRITUALLY SHOT – YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD HAS BEEN UP AND DOWN. YOU HAVE FELT ALONE AND ABANDONED AND YOU WANT TO BLAME GOD. YOU ARE AFRAID AND TERRIFIED OF THE NOW AND WHAT IS TO COME. YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. YOU DON’T KNOW IF HE’S REAL. YOU DON’T KNOW IF HE CARES. YOU DON’T KNOW WHICH WAY IS UP ANYMORE. RELATIONALLY SHOT – SOME OF YOU HAVE LOST LOVED ONES AND FRIENDS DURING THESE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS. SOME OF YOU FEEL SO ALONE AND ABANDONED, YOU HAVE ISOLATED YOURSELF AND YOU KNOW THAT’S NOT GOOD BUT YOU FEEL LIKE IT’S TOO LATE TO TRY TO CHANGE IT. SOME OF YOU ARE SO HURT OR DEPRESSED AND OPPRESSED THAT YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE THE ENERGY OR THE WILL TO TRY TO LOVE AGAIN. FINANCIALLY SHOT – YOUR FINANCES HAVE TAKEN A TOLL FOR THE WORSE AND THE PANDEMIC HAS LEFT YOU FINANCIALLY DRY AND YOU NEED AN ABSOLUTE MIRACLE. POINT 3. I TOOK INVENTORY – I LAY THERE AND TOLD MY FRIEND TELL MY WIFE THAT I LOVE HER. I WAS ABLE TO TELL MY FRIEND THESE THINGS BUT YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO DO THAT. YOU DON’T KNOW WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO LEAVE THIS WORLD. SO SAY YES TO HIM TODAY… HEBREWS 9:27 SAYS “AND AS IT IS APPOINTED FOR MEN TO DIE ONCE, BUT AFTER THIS THE JUDGMENT” FOR BELIVERS AND FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST PAUL SAYS IN HIS LETTER TO THE CORINTHIANS 5:8 “WE ARE CONFIDENT, YES, WELL PLEASED RATHER TO BE ABSENT FROM THE BODY AND TO BE PRESENT WITH THE LORD” SOME OF YOU MIGHT NOT BE CONFIDENT THAT YOU WOULD BE PRESENT WITH THE LORD – YOU CAN BE CONFIDENT TODAY – THE REST OF THE STORY I AM STILL HERE

The question is not, "Is He speaking?" It's, "Are you listening?" And how will you answer? What is God saying to you this season? We are in a new season of Harvest here at Sojourn Church. God is speaking to you individually. How will you answer? Matthew 5:13,14 Believers Are Salt and Light 13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. POINT 1. SHARE THE LIGHT JOHN 1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not [a]comprehend it. John’s Witness: The True Light 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That[b] was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His [c]own, and His [d]own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [e]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. POINT 2. SHINE THE LIGHT Corinthians 4:1-6 The Light of Christ’s Gospel 4 Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. 2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor [a]handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. PHILLIPPIANS 2:12 - 16 Light Bearers 12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. 14 Do all things without [d]complaining and disputing,[e] 15 that you may become blameless and [f]harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain. POINT 3. SHOW THE LIGHT – ISAIAH 9:2 2 The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined. POINT 1. SEE THE LABOR - IN BOTH OF THESE PASSAGES JESUS WAS ABLE TO SEE WITH HIS EYES WHAT THE FATHER SAW. (ONLY DOES WHATEVER HE SEES THE FATHER DOING, SAYS WHATEVER HE HEARS THE FATHER SAYING) - WHAT DOES THE FATHER SEE NOW? - WHAT DO YOU SEE NOW? - HARVEST IS RIPE

POINT 2. PRAY FOR LABORERS - HE DOES NOT TELL US TO PRAY FOR THE HARVEST - HE TELLS US TO PRAY TO THE LORD OF THE HARVEST TO SEND OUT LABORERS INTO THE HARVEST. - LABOR DAY

POINT 3. BE A LABORER - JESUS IS OUR EXAMPLE OF ONE WHO NOT ONLY TELLS US TO PRAY TO THE LORD OF THE HARVEST, BUT HE ALSO ROLLED UP HIS SLEEVES AND DID THE WORK. - IT IS HARD SOMETIMES TO WIN PEOPLE TO CHRIST. - BE MOVED WITH COMPASSION - LET GOD MOVE YOU WITH COMPASSION FOR HIS PEOPLE. - DON’T BE CONSUMED WITH JUST MAKING MONEY AND THE BUSINESS OF LIFE…

What is God's Plan? Nothing has changed with God's plan. The plan is, and always was, to make disciples. Are You Taking Responsibility to be a Disciple of Jesus? We all have a personal responsibility to be a disciple and make discipleship within our communities. It should affect the way you work, the way you live, the way that you talk, the way that you treat others. The life I live now, I live by faith in the Son of God. We were crucified with Christ." Lead Pastor Chris McRae continues the mini-series Connected Through The Cross and talks about what it really costs you to be a Disciple of Jesus Christ, and how the Cross affected many others. It cost God His only begotten Son. It cost Jesus His life. And it will cost us, as well. It costs us to be able to live the life that He has called us to live. "So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple." (LUKE 14:33)

"The world and everyone is trying to tell us that you can go around the Cross. But Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. And no one comes to the Father except through me." You can't get around the Cross. You must go through the Cross." Is Jesus and the story of the Cross all too good to be true? Guest Speaker Sean Morris helps continue our series, The Great [This] Connect, with a moving message on the Kings in Exile and our dominion on earth as disciples in the Kingdom of God. We look at Romans 5:17 and explore the themes of power, authority, dominion and governance. Do you have dominion in your family? Kings rule over their Kingdoms and each of us has our own territory and communities. Through the foundation of our identity in Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit in us, we will begin to take dominion in our lives. There are many forms of authority and governance, but today we discuss our ability to reclaim the dominion charged to Adam in the Garden and kingship as children of God.

“We think our sin has caused God to turn away from us, but He actually never stopped looking for us.” Because of what Jesus has done for all of us, we are able to see the Father and be in close relationship with Him. It does not matter what our past looks like; our Heavenly Father is ready to embrace us with open arms. Because of what Jesus has already done, we have been completely forgiven. The Father is ready to welcome and accept us, and He withholds nothing good from us. He is such a good Father! If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him. John 14:7

"The safest place for me to be is where God has called me to be." -Sgt. Taylor, Carrollton Police Department As the church, we are called to build bridges within our communities. In Romans 13, Paul reminds us to be submitted to authority and that those authorities are "ministers of God for our good" - for there is no authority except from God. We are thankful to the men and women, and their families, who put their lives in harm's way for our safety. Let's be the church by praying for our officers to have the wisdom, discernment, mental discipline and compassion they need to serve and protect our communities. A special thank you to the Officers from our local Carrollton Police Department for being with us! And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:5

The Spirit of God changes us and causes us to do what He has called us to do and be who He has called us to be. -Chris McRae Our “yes” to the Holy Spirit is so important and so powerful. Not only is it the first step, but it is the moment He comes and dwells within us. As the Holy Spirit dwells within us, we are empowered to live by Him and through Him. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1 NKJV

“Live not by lies, let's live by the Truth.” -Kelly Shackelford As believers, we belong to the Kingdom of God and are citizens of the nation in which we live. We have a responsibility to be involved and informed in what is happening in our nation, and as disciples of Jesus, we can get God's perspective and vote according to the principles of the His Word. Kelly Shackelford, President and CEO of First Liberty, shares on how his organization is making a difference with the principles and truth of God’s Word. Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. -Proverbs 4:7

"Receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit is an experience, but my question to you is, is your life being transformed? His presence and power will change your life in ways you did not think possible." -Chris McRae, Lead Pastor It is of utmost importance that we receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, The Spirit of adoption comes in dwells within us. As the Holy Spirit dwells within our hearts, we are empowered to live by the very Spirit of God. It is through Him that we are given the power and the authority to be the church to the unchurched. “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,”‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:15-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“As the church in America, we are called to be strong and courageous- to stand up for Truth and to be connected with one another.” Lt Col (Ret) Allen B West Summary: We as the church have such a significant role to play in our communities, our state, and in America as a whole. The only way we will see real change in our nation is if the church steps up to her post and stands firm in the truth God’s Word. Lt Col (Ret) Allen B West shares his perspective on how the Biblical relates to the political, and how we as the church can make a difference in our country. Verse: “... But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15b

"As disciples, we have been given the ministry of reconciliation"

When the church returns to the fear and reverence of the Lord, everything we do will be motivated by Him. We will be compelled and apprehended by His love. To truly be the church to the unchurched, one of our main priorities must be seeing unbelievers reconciled back to the Father. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we have been given the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5) and with love and compassion, we will see the lost find their God who chose them first.

"All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God."2 Corinthians 5:18-20 ESV

We stand in victory today because Jesus won it all on that day. Jesus is Risen! From Good Friday to Resurrection Sunday, we see that Jesus willingly laid down His life for us, He hung on the Cross and became our sin, He left the tomb having defeated death and is seated at the right hand of the Father waiting for His enemies to be made His footstool. Jesus has done it all! Our part is receiving that victory, letting go of the past and believing that Jesus is the Son of God who died for our sin and rose again so that we can live in abundant life right now! “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John‬ ‭3:16-17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In a world that is constantly changing and wants to be politically correct, rewrite history and nurture victimhood, the Kingdom of God is ruled by a good God who never changes and whose Word is settled forever. “The church exists for people who are in darkness: so let’s be the church and let your light shine!” - Guest Speaker Joe Martin

It’s no question that we live in a world of darkness that is looking for the light of its Creator. God has chosen us to be salt and light in the world so that when the world sees us, they would see the Jesus that lives on the inside of us. Five ways to shine in a dark world: be clear on your identity in Christ and as a child of God, serve and care for others, “watch your mouth” and be intentional with the words that we speak, lead a clean and innocent life so that in everything we do and say it would glorify God, and lastly, love one another, because love never fails.

We often want to earn our place in the Kingdom, but God has given us everything we need to be who He has called us to be and do what He has called us to do.

The “therefores” in Scripture talk about what we do as disciples of Jesus, but they only come after establishing who we are in Christ and what He is “there for.” Jesus has given us His presence and is always there with us, He has given us His power and sealed us with His promise- the Holy Spirit. We often want to focus on what we need to “do” for God, but the truth is that He has already done it all!

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Prayer is the passport that positions God’s people to be used for His purpose. -Chris McRae

God has given us prayer as a gift that is not only a way of communication with Him, but also as a vehicle that causes us to release His Kingdom purposes here on earth. The Bible tells us that our prayers are powerful (James 5:16) and when we pray according to His will, they will be done (1 John 5:14-15). "We are facing things in our world that we have never faced before, so it's time to pray like we've never prayed before." - Pastor Chris McRae. We believe that as we are consistent, confident and courageous with our prayers, we will begin to see impossible circumstances breaking loose!

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. -1 John 5:14-15

God wants to push us out, to stretch us further. It’s not about our tribe, it’s all about Jesus!

Our lives as Disciples is a life of trust and surrender to a God who loves us and has good plans for our lives. God has chosen to use His people to be light and salt in the world that does not yet know Him. If we are willing, the Holy Spirit will lead us into places we never thought we would go, doing things we never thought we would do, and resulting in infinitely more than we could ask or imagine. It’s easier to stay in our comfort zone, but God has called us out to go and be the church to the unchurched.

At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles...Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. Acts 8:1,4

The world is constantly changing, but our vision is the same. We are still making disciples who make a difference.

Our purpose as the Body of Christ and as individuals is clear: we are to go and make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). Being a disciple isn’t always easy, it will cost you your time and resources. A disciple of Jesus is one who lives according to what the Bible teaches, walks in freedom and lives with purpose.

“He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.” - Luke 6:48-49

Even as life seems chaotic and the systems of our nation beyond repair, God’s intent for this world, for our lives, has not changed: that the world will know who we are in Jesus, and who He is in us- that through Him we have been reconciled to Father. As the storms of life rage around us and deceit is rampant, as true disciples of Jesus we can be stable and secure in Him- the way, the truth and the life.

“having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:20-22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“We are created beings, created to worship. The question isn’t ‘are you worshiping?’ the real question is ‘what/who are you worshiping?’ I want my answer to be Jesus Christ.”

Worship is not just something we’re supposed to do, it’s an important part of who we are as believers and disciples of Jesus Christ. We have been created for worship, and God is looking for worshipers that love Him with all their heart. God is I AM, He doesn’t need our worship; worship is an incredible gift that God has given us to help us get our eyes off the temporal and onto Him who is eternal. “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.” -John 4:23

When chaos and fear rise up, our fight or flight instincts kick in. We can find ourselves either trying to overcome or shrink back, though neither are what God has called us to do. God commanded Adam in Genesis 1:28-29 and then Jesus commissioned the disciples in Matthew 28:18-20 with the same message: Go and advance the Kingdom of God by making disciples. We are going to see positive change in our nation and the world by trusting our purpose, staying in our lane and being who God created us to be: disciples who make a difference.

Paul writes in Romans 14 that the kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. As a third of the kingdom, joy can be overlooked and underestimated. Joy is more than an emotion, it is an attribute of God’s nature. With radical love and supernatural miracles, Jesus was the ultimate joy-carrier. We have been created and called to bring transformation to a broken world by releasing the kingdom of God: the righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

We live in a world that is broken, hurting and in need of a Savior. Jesus says in John 16:33 that there will be tribulation, but He has overcome the world. When trials come, they are a divine appointment to encounter Jesus, be empowered by the Holy Spirit, and to be an encouragement to others.

God’s goal of our trials is not relief, it’s that we get a revelation of who we are in Christ and come to a place of maturity in Him. James 1:2-4

Being led by the Holy Spirit is an undeniable part of our lives as disciples of Jesus in the kingdom of God. We need wisdom, guidance and direction from our Heavenly Father, who created each of us with unique plans and purposes. Because God is a good Father, and it’s the Holy Spirit that reveals the deep things of God to us (1 Cor 2:10-11). How can we be led by the Spirit?
