London's own The Funkaholic (aka Melo-D) and Ayaba have teamed up to give birth to “Ancestral Forest”. Rhythmically focused on the essential to paint the African kingdom awareness. The song is filled with hypnotic drums arrangement, Shakers, Punchy Rolling Bass lines and sound effects. This melange is transcended by the wonderful songstress / spoken word artist “Ayaba’’ (which is the Yoruba word for Queen), who creates a monsoon ambient feeling. “Ancestral Forest” is The Funkaholic & Ayaba’s first EP ever released and it is taken to a climax by a series of remixes from the likes of Adam Gibbons (Boston, USA), Boddhi Satva (Bangui, Central African Republic) and Doug Gomez (New York, USA). This package is sure to set you in a state of Hypnosis.

New York’s own Doug Gomez started his career in 1987. As a true New Yorker of latin decent, his love for drums and sophisticated melodies led him to embrace the path of Deejaying and production. He worked for ZYX Music from 1994 to 2005 and meanwhile took position as A&R for WAAKO Records from 1999 to 2005. A label that had artists such as Kings of Tomorrow, Mood II Swing or Louie “Balo” Guzman to name a few.
In 2005, Doug Gomez decided to take a break from the music business and focus on his music production. This hiatus led him to team up with Matthew “DJ Drilla” Moffre and create music together under the alias DRRTY HAZE. This venture got them signed to labels like Gomma (Germany), TIRK (UK), and Nang amongst other. 9 years later in 2014 the calling to move to Costa Rica where he now resides came as an evidence for his creative growth.
Doug Gomez is now slowly but surely spreading his sound in the region and will soon become an unmistakable ambassador for Deep, Soulful and Afro House music in Costa Rica. One of the outcome of this Inspired geographic relocation is “Mi Tribu”. The firs of his many up & coming solo projects. The release is true to Doug’s love for what he affectionally calls “That New York sound”. A sound profoundly Afro latin and as deep as deep can be.
Originally influenced by the sounds of Blaze, Masters at Work, Kerri Chandler etc… This EP signals the debut of many releases for labels like: Quantize, Mo Black, Vida Records or Kingstreet as well as releases on his own imprint in 2017. “Mi Tribu” takes you back to the days when the Fania sound was pumping out of every front porch in the barrios of the South Bronx.

Hailing from Botswana, Deon Vaughan’s career started in 2009. Performing alongside artists like N’Dinga Gaba or Boddhi Satva has been some of the experiences that inspired him to fully embrace his career as a music producer.
In 2014 Deon’s remix of Enawadan’s “I’m Still Standing” was amongst the winners from a competition we had launched. Since then we’ve observed his progression and creative evolution manifested through his brand new EP untitled “Tanzanian Mermaid”. This EP is a true musical journey enchanting the soul and elevating the spirit.

Still flooding the American and European dance floors with his unique sound, Spilulu now brings us Shonta Mu Mbingu (Look up to the Sky). An EP influenced by Spilulu's daily life in Lubumbashi (D.R.C). Hypnotic, shamanic beats are on the menu with this new master piece.
