The Lakers had their best players back in the lineup yesterday against the Indiana Pacers and win the game 122 to 115. The Lakers had a good start to the game in the first quarter and that made the difference as the other 3 quarters were pretty even. Lebron finished with 24, 7, and 8, Davis had 28 and 10, Drummond finished with 11 and 15. With another win and a Portland loss, the Lakers will finish 6th place in the standings and avoid the play in the tournament.

The Lakers lost to the Dallas Mavericks last night for the second time in a row 108 to 93. They actually led after the first half with the help of Ben McLemore's 3 point shooting, he ended the game with 20 points. Anthony Davis played 28 minutes and finished with 17 points, Schroder had 16 points and 10 assists. Luka was tearing down the defense with the pick and roll especially in the second half. Montrezl Harrell did not play in this game as coach Vogel figures out the rotation with all the big men now healthy. Dallas is now only 1.5 games behind the Lakers.

The Lakers got Anthony Davis back in the lineup but that wasn't enough to take on the Dallas Mavericks as they go down 115 to 110. Andre Drummond dominated the boards finishing with 19 and 14 points, AD had 4 points 17 minutes, Schroder finished with 25 and 13 assists and KCP led the team with 29 points. Although some Laker players had great individual performances they were not able to contain the Maverick offense. The Lakers are slowly moving down in the standings as they are only 2.5 games ahead of the 6th and 7th seed.

The Jazz had Conley and Gobert back in the starting line up and that was all they needed to get the upper hand and win decisively. THT led the Lakers with 24 points followed by Kuzma with 17. Some good news for the Lakers though, Anthony Davis has been cleared to play.

The Lakers come out with a big win over the Utah Jazz 127 to 115 with both teams missing their best players. Drummond, KCP and Schroder all had big scoring games and Morris finished with a double double. The Lakers were firing on all cylinders in this game until they let a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter disappear. However, Schroder put his head down and used his speed to make the last 6 points in regulation including the last bucket with 3.5 seconds to go.

The Lakers were not able to match the offensive firepower of Jaylen Brown as he scores 40 to give the Boston Celtics the win of 121 to 113. Marc Gasol was back in the lineup and had a great game finishing with 18 points as Andre Drummond was out as he got his nailless toe stepped on again. Although the Lakers lost the game, the bench players started to form a comeback in the fourth quarter and the Celtics had to bring back their starters to finish the game, the Lakers are deep. THT finished with 19 points and Ben McLemore with 17.

The Lakers get a hard fought win over the Charlotte Hornets 101 to 93 with Kyle Kuzma leading the way with 24 points and Schroder finished with 19. All the 10 Lakers that played scored and were on the court more than 9 minutes so this was an all out team effort that went down to the last quarter. Markieff Morris was out on this game due to his left ankle injury from the previous game. Alex Caruso was the key to the win in this game as he locked down Devontae Graham and knocked down a dagger 3 pointer in the last plays of the game.

The Lakers go down to the Miami Heat 110 to 104 and remain number 5 in the western conference standings with 32 wins and 20 loses. Andre Drummond returned after losing a toe nail and played 27 minutes to finish with 15 points and 12 rebounds, KCP had his best game of the season finishing with 28 points. Schroder had himself a nice game with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 14 assists. THT was suspended for this game due to him leaving the bench during an altercation last game that also got Harrell a fine by the NBA. Kyle Kuzma was also out because of a calf strain which left the Lakers short handed for this game. Nevertheless, they made it a good game due to their defense and lost their grip in the last few minutes of the 4th quarter.

The Lakers were running plays and making shots against the Toronto Raptors and win the game 110 to 101. On defense they were able to keep the Raptors to just 15% from 3's and 40% overall from the court, granted they were missing Kyle Lowry and Fred Van Vleet. THT came off the bench and led the team with 17 points. Energy was better in this game for the Lakers and we hope they continue this in the last stretch of the season.

The Lakers looked good on both sides of the court last night against the Sacramento Kings and got a win 115 to 94. It's easy to run teams off the court when your 3 pointers are going in, the Lakers finished 17 for 33 at 52%. Kuzma had one of his best games this season leading the team with 30 points and KCP was the only player with a double double for the team with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The bad news is the Lakers cannot catch a break with injuries as Wesley Matthews reaggravated a neck injury that started the previous game and might miss some time to recover.

The Lakers go down to the Milwaukee Bucks 112 to 97 last night that featured Andre Drummond's first game and although a disappointment because he only had 4 points and 1 rebound in 14 minutes and injuring his right big toe. Kuzma finished with 16 points, Schroder finished with 17 points and 8 assists, Harrell had 19. The Lakers set a season high for 3's in a quarter after making 8 in the first but they ran out of gas after that and struggled for the rest of the game.

The Lakers have now won 2 in a row after defeating the Cavaliers on Friday and the Orlando Magic last night 96 to 93. It was not an easy win but they showed up to play and defended the home court, Kuzma finished with 21 points, 11 rebounds, Morris had 12 and 11, Harrell also finished with a double double and 18 points and 11 rebounds and Schroder had 24 points. The bigger story for the Lakers is that they got Andre Drummond to join the team for some much needed help around the rim with AD still being out for a few more weeks.

The Lakers have lost 3 in a row now after going down to the New Orleans Pelicans 128 to 111 last night. The Lakers are still without their top players Lebron and AD and will struggle to find their rhythm without them. Devontae Cacok got the start at center for this game but only played 13 minutes. 6 Lakers players finished with double figures in scoring with Harrell leading the way at 18 points. Kuzma had a double double with 16 and 10. They were able to put up points but were no match defensively for the power of Zion Williamson and the mid range shots of Brandon Ingram.

As if the Lakers didn't have enough trouble with injuries this season, Lebron James is out a few weeks with a high ankle sprain. They go down to the Phoenix Suns 111 to 94 after bringing out a small starting lineup against them with Morris starting at center. Despite the blowout score the Lakers did show some good fundamental basketball and competed throughout the game. Schroder was causing trouble on the defensive end and finished with 22 points, Harrell was the best offensive player with 23 points and 10 rebounds but was outmatched on defense against the bigger Deandre Ayton. THT also showed a lot of aggressiveness trying to score the basket and finishing with 17 points off the bench.

The Lakers increase their winning streak to 4 after defeating the Charlotte Hornets 116 to 105 with a dominating performance Lebron as he finishes with 37 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The Lakers started off the game aggressive on offense in the first half following Lebron's lead but let off the gas a bit in the 3rd quarter and allowed the Hornets to catch up and tie the game. The Lakers bench players have been performing better as the season moves on without the injured Anthony Davis and Marc Gasol, this is a good thing once playoffs come around.

The Lakers put a stop to the losing streak with Dennis Schroder back in the lineup. They beat the Portland Trail Blazers 103 to 92 on the defensive containment of Damian Lillard as well as a much needed spark in offense from Schroder, Harrell and Caruso. The Lakers are still struggling from long range going 7 for 27 on this game but they had more blocks and steals and less turnovers than Portland. Effectively relying on their defense to win games like they did last season.

The Lakers beat the Thunder in overtime one more time 114 to 113 without Anthony Davis and Alex Caruso on the lineup again. Lakers struggled for most of the game but especially on defense, Lebron bailed out the team with a huge 3 pointer at the end of the 4th and a defensive stop in overtime. He keeps pushing the team forward as they have now won 6 consecutive games but it's coming at the expense of a lot of minutes.
Lebron James finished with 25, 6 and 7, Schroder 19 points, 7 and 5. Harrell 21, Kuzma 15 points and 9 rebounds. Matthews finished with 10 points.

The Lakers beat the Thunder in overtime 119 to 112 without Anthony Davis and Alex Caruso on the lineup. Not the best outing for the Lakers in this game but Lebron led the team in the end to victory. Easily putting up his third triple double this season and coming up with big buckets. Markieff Morris got the start instead of Davis but was outperformed from Kuzma, Mathews and THT from the bench. The defense was sloppy but they were able to put it together in the last minutes of the fourth quarter and overtime to progress their winning streak to 5 games, the most this season.
Lebron James had 28, 14 and 12, Schroder 19 points, 7 and 5. Harrell 21 and 8, Kuzma hustles his way into another double double off the bench with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Matthews finished with 16 points.

The Lakers have now lost 2 games in a row after going down to the Detroit Pistons, 92 to 107. Anthony Davis was out for this game with a Quad contusion, Kuzma took his place in the starting lineup and finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Lebron James played the most minutes in the team and tried to do it all, finishing with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Schroder finished with 10 points and THT had 13 points off the bench. The 92 points that the Lakers scored was their lowest tally for a game this season, which goes to show how important AD is to their offense. Coach Vogel said in an interview that they just couldn't find the right rotation throughout the game and that cost them on both sides of the court. It was an off night and they'll look to bounce back.

The Lakers lose 107 to 106 in what could be a preview of the NBA Finals against the Philadelphia 76ers. Lebron James had another great game but just wasn't enough to win this one. This hands the Lakers their first loss on away games this season. They missed a lot of opened shots and free throws that had them trailing for most of the game. They made a big push in the last minutes of the 4th relying on their defense but in the end Tobias Harris put the game away with a 2 pointer over Caruso.

Lebron James was the dominant player against his old team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, with the final score being 115 to 108. He started the first quarter on fire to push the Lakers to a lead and finished the fourth quarter again taking over offensively as he finished with 46 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. He later revealed that a Cavalier executive was clapping when he missed a shot in the third quarter and that gave him the motivation he needed to take over the game. With this win the Lakers also continue their road game winning streak to 10 in a row and are 14 and 4 in the season. Today marks the 1 year anniversary of Kobe Bryant's death and with that we remember all of the entertainment, will to win and inspiration that he brought to us in life. Rest in peace Kobe.

Anthony Davis scores season high in points as the Lakers win their 9th straight game on the road for the season against the Chicago Bulls. The game finished with a score of 101 to 90 as the Lakers were winning by up to 30 points in the second quarter. On offense the Lakers were more focused on running plays through AD and it worked out nicely on all ends. On defense the Lakers were smothering the paint and getting in passing lanes to continue to show their strengths and why they are the number 1 defense in the league. No player was over 29 minutes of gametime and all the bench players had some time on the court.

The Lakers go down in a close game against the Golden State Warriors with the final score 115 to 113. The Lakers got off to a commanding lead in the first quarter and were up almost the whole game until some turnovers, bad defensive breakdowns and missed shots lost them the game. In Lebron's long hall of fame career, he had never lost a game when leading by double digits into the fourth quarter in regulation which goes to show how consistent he is at winning games. This was a game the Lakers should have won if they continued to play the way they have been the last few weeks but they beat themselves on this one and going up against a team led by a superstar like Steph Curry is no easy task.

The Lakers started the game slow against the Pelicans but picked up the pace in the second half and ultimately running them over, the game ended with the Lakers on top 112 to 95. The difference maker here being in turnovers where the Lakers had 6 and forced 21 on the Pelicans. They have now won 5 games in a row. Dennis Schroder showed a lot of resilience defensively to keep the game close after being down 15 points. The Lakers came out into the 3rd quarter more focused and put the game away. The Lakers get a blowout win against the Rockets 120 to 102 in a very physical game with shoving, technical fouls and ejections. THT had one of his best games so far on offense with some nice footwork inside as well as some 3s but on defense he was using his length to poke balls for some easy steals. The defensive stops turned to a lot of transition offense opportunities and the Lakers were looking like the team from last year. Anthony Davis called out the team for their lack of defensive effort and they answered the call.

Markieff Morris and Wesley Matthews joined the starting lineup in this game as KCP is still out with the left ankle injury and Anthony Davis was out with a right adductor strain . The Lakers still looked disorganized on defense for this match and Zach Lavine took advantage of that by putting up 38 points. Everyone had to step up and do their job for this one, Wesley Mathews with the 3's in the second half, Schroder with the timely baskets in the 4th, Harrell with the trash talking dunks and and one's, even Jared Dudley got some minutes in the third quarter and he brought the energy to wake the other guys up. Not an easy win by any means but an important one if they want to keep the goal alive of not losing 2 games in a row this season.

The Lakers suffer their second loss in the season to the Portland Trail Blazers as their defense struggles late in the game. Although Lebron had one of his best games this season so far Anthony Davis had one of his worst. Last year the Lakers had one of the best 4th quarter defenses in the league and this is something they need to figure out soon to avoid losing more of these close games.

A storyline to pay attention to:
CBS sports released an article titled, "How the Blazers exploited Montrezl Harrell defensively and reminded the Lakers of their true identity" in which they highlight Harrell's weakness in defending the pick and roll. It was an especially costly move by coach Vogel to leave him in the game for 16 consecutive minutes on the court against two of the best perimeter players in Lillard and McCollum. Fatigue was visible throughout the fourth quarter as he consistently got caught in between players without space to make a defensive presence on the ball. Nevertheless, this is still only the 4th game of the season and the Lakers are still experimenting on which lineup is best suited for finishing games.

Highlights of the game: Kuzma started on fire making the first 9 points of the Lakers on 3 3 point makes starting at the power forward position due to AD being out for game to a calf contusion. He continued with some flashy passes and great blocks. Since the game was a blowout all the bench players got some minutes. Lebron rolled his ankle near the end of the second quarter and still played in the 3rd quarter but he will likely miss tonight's back to back game to get some rest.
A storyline to pay attention to:
CBS sports released an article titled, "Marc Gasol's give-and-go passing is teaching Lakers benefits of movement, making champs even more dangerous" in which they highlight how Gasol is improving the Lakers half court offense, one that was not very good last season. Lebron and AD demand so much attention and defenders gravitate to them when they have the ball, this creates passing opportunities to open shooters. The give and go passing that Gasol has been showing the team is creating more movement without the ball and getting more players involved. How much better can this offense get?

He initially declined an offer for an extension earlier this year after he was acquired through a trade from the Thunder. The strategy for Schroder is that after February 16th of next year he will be able to sign a contract for more years and money. Now the question is going to be if the Lakers are willing to spend that much on him but looking at his experience and skills he is one of the best point guards the Lakers have had in a long time.

The Lakers paid KCP this offseason to stay with the team, earning a 3 year deal worth 40 million after a consistent showing during the regular season and stepping up in the playoffs and finals. Last season he managed to achieve new personal records from field goal and 3 point percentages. If he can continue with those number this year he will be very valuable to the Lakers as he will find himself open when Lebron or AD demand the double teams.

We got an article from the la times titled, The youngest Laker, Talen Horton-Tucker, is stealing the show so far in the preseason, in which the writer makes a case for more minutes for the young second year player. Many of the veterans in the team are shocked when they think about how confident he plays the game at only 20 years old. The Lakers come in to this season with a very deep team already but with Covid still being an obstacle that every team will face this year, the stronger the bench is the higher chances the teams will have at not missing numbers in the box score. Here is how they play out on the list, Lebron James is at number 1 in which they say he is still undeniably the best player in the league, followed by Anthony Davis at 5, Marc Gasol at 81 who they say will bring a versatility to the team with his court vision as well as a brick wall in defense. Montrezl Harrell comes in at 82 and Dennis Schroder at 83, who finished as the 2 best 6th man last season with Harrell winning the award and Schroder coming in second. If I was a betting man I think this shows the Lakers have more depth in the line up coming into this season which will greatly increase their chances of running it back to another championship. The Lakers get the first dub of the new season against the clippers, although this is just a preseason game, it's always great to see them win.
Some notable stats, Kyle Kuzma finished the game with 18 points, Talen Horton-Tucker led the team with 19 points, Montrezl Harrell got his first double double with 12 rebounds, 13 points and finally Dennis Schroder with 10 points.
The highlight of the game for me was Harrell as he looked really comfortable in the laker line up and uniform. Putting on a show against his old team.

we got an article from silver screen and roll titled, The Lakers are ready for Kyle Kuzma’s moment. Is he?, in which they question if Kuzma's ceiling is still higher than what we have seen in his first years in the NBA. He is being regarded as a better than average defender against small guards due to his ability to alter their shot with his length. He has also shown his strength in catch and shoot situations. But what about his on ball perimeter defense and dribbling the ball to create his own shots? are those weaknesses going to ultimately stop him from being that 3rd laker player we expected him to be after lebron and AD? The Los Angeles Lakers gaming which is the esports team in the NBA2K league has also postponed its season-opening. It was supposed to begin on March 24th. The benefit of esports, however, is that games can still be played remotely. The league is going to have teams play preseason games from their respective markets remotely. There will also be an "NBA 2KL 3 for all showdown" which will feature a 3 on 3 tournaments where fans get the opportunity to compete against league players, the best 2k female players, and social media influencers. In my opinion
The Lakers were having one of the best seasons I have ever seen. Staying at the top of the western conference throughout the season and coming off big wins against the top team in the east the Milwaukee bucks and the second-best team in the west the Los Angeles Clippers. You could tell when they played that they were having fun and had built great chemistry with each other. Lebron James and Anthony Davis produced stats, highlights, wins and leadership as superstars are supposed to. The role players such as Kyle Kuzma, Caldwell Pope, Dwight Howard, and Alex Caruso were stepping up and doing their part when their name was called. It sure seemed like the Lakers were on their way to the playoffs and for an opportunity to play for a championship. Now the question is how will the league finish out this season, will they cancel it or bring it back later in the year once the virus has been contained? and it the season does start back up, does it start where it left off or in the playoffs? So many questions and so much uncertainty, but the good thing out of all of this is that we got to see a great Laker team in the first half of the season. Something we have not been able to say for years.

Coach Vogel reacts to each game differently and makes line up changes accordingly, it has worked so far. Most teams have their preferred line ups to end games but the Lakers seem to have a different team out on the floor almost every night. This does 2 things, one good and one bad, first it keeps the opponents guessing so they can't prepare for match-ups and 2 it does not allow the Lakers to build great chemistry when finishing games. Are the Lakers making a mistake by doing this or do have they built trust in each other that anyone of the 3 through 10 players can step up and be a contributor at the end of games? In my opinion
Dwight Howard was missed in this game as the Lakers allowed 14 offensive rebounds compared to their own 8 and also lost the points in the paint battle 42 to 36. Defensive rebounds and points in the paint are Howard's specialty and without him the Lakers relied more on their perimeter shots and no one stepped up to grab the missed shots from the Nets.

One of the worst injuries that an athlete can have is a torn Achilles and unfortunately Kobe had to endure this during the 2012-2013 season. What was most memorable about this experience was the fact that Kobe still shot his 2 free throws and walked off the court on his own even though his Achilles was torn, it was not attached to his heel bone. - The Los Angeles lakers lost to the Houston Rockets, 121 to 111 last night in a hard fought game against a team that is unconventional. The new experiment from the rockets of playing small ball with Robert Convington being the tallest player in their lineup at 6 feet and 7 inches seemed to work for them.
- Lebron James finished with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 15 assists
- Anthony Davis finished with 32 points and 13 rebounds
- Russell Westbrook led the Rockets with 41 points
- LeBron gave us a 2 hand reverse windmill dunk to remember during the game and during the post game interview he talked about issues they had letting Westbrook drive in to the paint and also letting them make 19 threes.
