In the garden, the Lord Jesus Christ pleaded with the Father to take away the cup of wrath from Him if possible- but he was submissive to the will of the Father, and went willingly to take the Father's wrath in our place.
When the Lord Jesus Christ rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, he was openly declaring that he was the promised Savior which is the Messiah, the promised King from the line of David, and a prophet promised by Moses. Many agreed.
In this world, being referred to as sheep is generally an insult applied to those one wishes to belittle as blindly following along with the crowd. But in reality, since the Lord Jesus Christ is the -Good Shepherd,- there is no more privileged position in the world than being one of his sheep.
If a human being remarked, -It's all about me,- it would reveal a prideful heart. But when the Lord Jesus Christ moved to draw attention to himself - his power and his authority - it was not about pride- it was about love.
Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15-19, -If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.- While belief in the gospel of Jesus Christ has many benefits in this life, the greatest of its promises are in eternal life that is provided by Jesus Christ through faith in Him. Fortunately, this is not a blind faith because Jesus gave many evidences of his power and authority over death.
The will of God is for his people to be increasingly set apart to Him for His purposes. Since this is a God-sized task, he does not leave his people alone to try their best to achieve it, but he equips them with the power of his indwelling Holy Spirit thereby ensuring success.
Once again the Bible opposes human religions. Some say that man can become God, but the Bible presents that the eternal God joined himself with man in the unique God-man, the Lord Jesus Christ. Join us to learn about this great mystery.
