This month on Trancefusions we catch up with Wes Straub for a one on one interview. The interview series is a great opportunity to get to know a little more about underground electronic artists out there right now, releasing top quality music, hosting incredible club nights and gigs and generally contributing to the scene.
The interview with Wes covered a wide range of topics, from the early days of hosting radio shows to the evolution/revolution of vinyl to MP3. We discuss his new home being Mexico and what happens there as well as our musical heroes that helped shape underground music as we know it today

This was a first attempt at interviewing for myself and it was Steve's first time sitting down and chatting about himself as well.
We covered several different topics, psychedellics, the state of the psy trance scene, next generation DJ's and technology, producer advice, mental health and our two musical heroes...Ricky Smith and John 00 Fleming.
I've certainly learned quite a lot about booking interviews, technology and being far more organised than what I currently am. The response for the compact interview was great and there has been far better engagement since adding the interview element to the show.

For my own set, I've done a strictly Slideways inspired set, I went digging through Tim Penner's record label and selected an hour's worth of music. It's progressive journey showing you quite a few of the different musical flavours there on Sideways. We move through some very recent releases to some treasured tracks in the the Slideways back catalog.

Hello there and welcome to this very special back to back studio set mixed by myself and Chris Hynds. We both currently create podcasts dedicated to underground trance, progressive, techno and psytrance. We actually have a similar sound so it seemed like the right idea to get together and create a back to back mix called - Subconscious.

I've got a really great show this month as I am featuring Ace Ventura in the second hour with some banging psytrance.
In order to balance the show out I've gone for a pretty chilled and mellow feel for both mini mixes. This leaves all the banging stuff for the feature set.
Ace Ventura aka Yoni Oshrat comes from Israel, a place where some of the best electronic music producers come from. Ace Ventura has been in the trance music scene for a very long time and has a huge body of work. His signature dark pounding basslines and trippy melodies will get any psytrance raver going.

This month's episode has a nice selection of deep dark techno in the progressive picks and the trancefusion #2 has some great progressive trance grooves. A particular is a brand new release from Daniel Lesden - Human Simulation. I have also dropped a classic progressive trance track in there, those that remember the glory days of trance will appreciate this one.
The feature set is a selection of a variety of favourite tracks in my library. It moves through a range of sub-genres, starting quite low key and relaxed, it then moves into a more progressive trance feel and works its way to a progressive psytrance finish.

Trancefusions 003 - (Progressive Picks 2014 Year Mix Part 1) Mixed By DJ Vernski Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of Trancefusions, as always a really big thanks to everyone that has streamed and downloaded previous podcasts. It's great to be getting comments and messages from you all, so keep them coming :-) So as 2014 came to a close, I've taken a close look at the tracks collected during the year and I've compiled a set that will most probably be about 4 hours long. Throughout the course of 2015, I will be sprinkling 1 hour progressive feature sets. Since the second hour will be at a slower pace, I've ramped up the 2 mini mixes and put together a trancey mix, followed by a harder break beat/trance/psy set. One of the really enjoyable things in doing this show is being able to share new productions from DJ/Producer friends from around the world. The opening track - Playing With Fire featured in the second turbo mix was produced by friend Kris Ellissentials. A pretty short turn around since last month's episode, but Episode 002 is too good to just sit on it, so why wait right. Many thanks for tuning in last month, I received a few messages from you guys and I appreciate the great feedback.
So this month's progressive pick starts off quite a lot lighter with some feel good progressive and deep house to kick things off. The turbo mix is a selection of pretty recent pounding psy-trance. This is the very first episode that is hosted properly by yours truly - DJ Vernski. I've gone for a multi genre format as it allows a lot more room to move during a 2 hour episode. The show has been broken down into three parts; Progressive Picks, Turbo Mix and a 1 hour themed mix.
The majority of the mini-mixes will be fairly new releases and the 1 hour set will be quite varied in its format. This month's 1 hour set is a compilation mixed by myself, featuring DJ/Producer Basil O'Glue.
