We grew up watching Gilmore Girls after school in middle and high school, and we thought it would be interesting to analyse a show that we watched before we could even fully comprehend some of its content. Each episode we try to discuss the chronological happenings of the show, while also applying the show to our own lives and growth. This is not a spoiler free podcast because the audience we are trying to cater to is mostly people who have already seen Gilmore Girls and that want to learn more about the show or go back into the world of Stars Hollow
On this episode of Gilmore Gals your hosts Tiffany and Allison rewatch the second episode of Gilmore Girls “The Lorelei’s’ First Day at Chilton”. We discuss biblical insults, Kurt being Mick, Luke’s heart eyes, and how much we dislike Chad Michael Murray’s role as basic white boy Tristan (among other things).
In this episode my sister and I discuss what we remember about the show and the significance of Gilmore Girls to us as sisters. We then go on to talk about the first episode of the show, which is quite originally titled “Pilot.” We talk about Lorelei and Rory’s—some would say messed up and others would say interesting—relationship that can be viewed much more like friends than mother and daughter. I profess my love for the character Sookie St. James before she even shows up on the screen. We debate about why this show brainwashed Allison into loving coffee but had no effect on me. This podcast also contains how Lane’s wild childness reminds me of Allison, how Rory and Lane reminds me of my own relationship with my best friend, what we think about Lorelei’s parenting style, and many more hot takes about Stars Hollow and the people we grew up watching on our parents old wooden television that was tinted a little bit green.
