XChange Radio Meetings

In an effort to promote an environment for collaboration and to update our supporters on our current efforts, we facilitate online radio meetings where foster youth, foster parents, child welfare professionals, and foster youth advocates discuss resources, events, news, and other information that can be utilized to ensure foster youth thrive in their adult lives.

Each meeting is facilitated like a conference call  that is broadcasted live over an online radio signal to the public.  After each meeting is completed, a podcast recording is automatically created.  Accompanying each podcast, will be detailed notes from that meeting.

We will also be maintaining a state-specific compilation of resources, events, and news updates.  This compilation will be routinely updated by volunteer contributors.  In addition to supporting the maintenance of this compilation by submitting resources, events, and news updates, contributors will also be encouraged to reach out to young adults who are transitioning out of foster care and to guide them through the process of acquiring information from resources.  Under this coaching structure, young adults from foster care will receive hands-on training in communication, organization, and other key social skills.  Once the young adults master these skills, they will have an opportunity to earn income in exchange for their contribution to the XChange Radio platform.

What to Expect:
​
- During the first part of each meeting, we will go around to each of those who are participating and give them 5-10 uninterrupted minutes to discuss any foster care related resources, events, or news they would like to share. 
​
- After everyone has spoken, they will be given time to ask questions or comment about other participant's updates.
​
- We will conclude meetings with a discussion on Foster Leaders' latest efforts.
​
