On July 17, 1981. I was working at the Hyatt Regency Kansas City when a tragedy occurred. It was one of the deadliest non-deliberate structural failures in American History. 114 people died and 200 + were injured.  Many more simply survived witnessing and experiencing the devastating effects of this tragic event. In this episode, I'll tell my experiences from a high vantage point....and up close in the triage area.

In light of the recent death of George Floyd, it is time for us to talk about racism in America

On this episode, I'm excited to welcome my first guest for a conversation.  I'm joined by my friend Sean Phipps. With all the current issues going on, it seemed the time was right to bring our normal discussions to an episode so others can listen.

Sean brings a unique perspective to this topic. He is biracial. And he always seems to find the humor in every situation.  Even protesters gathering in large groups during a pandemic.

During this episode, I'll also share a poem by p.l. thomas, a quote from Martin Luther King Jr. and my thoughts on how some of us see color. Or don't.

This podcast is about the lives we live, the stories we tell and and the lessons we learn from them. In this episode, you'll hear some stories about my life, someone else's story about an interesting photo, and learn a bit about what's to come in the first season. There's a life lesson or two mixed in between. And there's also an exercise to encourage you to share a story about your life.
