I'm Ian Temple, and I created the All-Voice Media brand for all those committed to pushing their vocal communication and recording / tech skills to the absolute limit and beyond.

Vocal professionals in all adjacent industries are under the technique microscope, from voice-over actors in commercial, promo, interactive, audiobook narration, to all styles of singing from opera to heavy metal, rap and human beatboxing. Improvisation both musical and theatrical will be broken down and put back together, and the art and craft of verbal comedy is ever-present.

Got a great podcast with you about how to be more successful by broadening your definition of who you are and what you do.

Notice how "Artists" have become "Creators"? I could complain all day about the negative impacts of that, but basically it's from broadening the definition of what we do to place us closer to the center of the action.

I'm gonna teach you how to think vertically to draw in more business transactions, command more value and keep your clients happy!

While I got you here, follow my AC/DC Tribute Band page !

And of course check out my website ...

But most importantly, I'm looking for 3 people who want to develop their singing voice from home to become Karaoke Gods-- email me right now at ian@allvoicemedia.com and let's get started!

Big goal-setting session here... Looking at what are the big new directions to move in not over the course of the next fiscal quarter, but from the position of your deathbed... Why I won't be spending as much time auditioning on pay-to-play websites this year, and how to fight the voice-over robots. Also how to stack skills and triple down on giving your gifts to the world, especially if they are of the 'slowly-arriving' variety- i.e. you're working on them in real time.

Come check out this super exciting episode with our guest, and my personal British accent and Dialect coach, Sandi Small!  Sandi hails from the UK where she uses her expertise in linguistics to help actors "British up their speech" to use her phrase.

As you know, American roles have been getting sniped by British actors left and right for the last 30 years, and Sandi believes its time we follow Rami Malek and start taking some Brit roles in return.  As both an American and a lover of British culture, history and comedy, I wholeheartedly agree!

If you have some faculty with accents already, you will learn that simple vowel substitutions are not even half the battle- there's rhythm, attitude, tone, axioms, phraseology-  all of these factors go into the soup of whether you come across credible or not as a British speaker.

If you'd like to improve your British accent, this podcast episode is an absolute MUST.

All-Voice Nation!

Here comes the first Solocast I've done in awhile, because I felt it really necessary to deliver this powerful message about operating a small business, and how, inevitably, there are going to be phases of active and passive growth.  Marketing campaigns have a life-cycle, and trying to be all things to all people at all times is a one-way ticket to the loony bin.

Here I break down 4 key guidelines for the small business owner to put their active marketing on passive mode for some time and still winning big and acquiring new clients, even when you're not in the trenches with it 24/7.  Life happens, and that's why step one is Commit To Zero Guilt about taking a step back.  It's HEALTHY!

For all you solopreneurs out there (and if you're a Voice actor, this is you, whether you like it or not!), here's an episode you're going to want to pay ExTRA close attention to.

This week we catch up with Jayson Evans- songwriter-turned-music industry marketing wizard, who answers one simple question:

Why aren't more people listening to your audio media?

The answer ain't complicated, but how he goes about solving this universal problem will straight-up shock you.

If you're interested in getting your audio media consumed by more folks than ever before, do yourself a favor and read Jayson's book which can be found HERE. It's excellent.

Jayson has truly cracked the code for follower engagement and created a system for advancing your followers upon what he calls a 'listen path', which helps you guide them from "Cold", to "Curious" to "Committed" to "Cult".

He also created a program which is truly groundbreaking in scope, a service he calls "Listen Pages" which can actually track where your followers are on the listen path in relation to these four categories, and how to move them along the path of higher rapport commitment. Check out Listen Pages HERE.

And feel free to reach out to Jayson at @JaysonJohnEvans on all social media platforms and let him know what you think about the All-Voice Media Podcast!

All-Voice Nation!

A lot has happened this past week.

'Tis an interesting time to be relocating the central hub of All-Voice Media Studios from LA to NYC, and I wanted to capture this moment in all its personal drama, determination and reluctance.

There's a lot happening in the world right now, and while I touch on the challenges of independent artists during a time of outrageous wealth inequality and cheap social media virtue, this episode doens't reflect directly on the most urgent issues of the day, namely COVID-19, racism and police brutality, as particularly the last two deserve their own episodes.

This podcast is about the cultural differences between LA and my native NYC, particularly as a media creative.  It also touches on learning the British accents and the so-called 'Pygmalion effect' which has a lot of depth and perhaps some relevance to the issues mentioned above.

It's a quickie, coming in at fifteen minutes.  Enjoy!

In this very special episode of the All-Voice Media Podcast, our host Ian Temple dives head-first into the gateway to understanding the American accent and its perceived 'flatness'. We dive into the essence of what makes somebody sound like a native english speaker- a tiny, subtle, almost imperceptible vowel that poses as other vowels- how it's been dealt with since Shakespeare's day, and even an exciting history lesson into when and why American and English accents began to change! And it all starts with King George III's German accent....

Starting off our Accent Spotlight series, we delve into the Mid-Atlantic accent, which is a mix between Standard American, and British RP (Received Pronunciation). We also experiment with vocal fry from the false chords to add grit and texture.

Then at 6:45 my guest Josh Grossberg and I do an improvised comedy scene recalling a single night at CBGB's in 1987 since this accent is fun for making fun of pretense.
