Who loves money?  It is quite possible that everyone struggles with or has struggled with loving money or stuff a bit more than we should.  Jesus is not caught off-guard by our love for our stuff and money.  How do we handle it? What do we do?  Join us this week as we look at how Jesus and the Bible addresses this for us!

View Details

We are in week 2 of our "The Gospel and Money," series, and today we look at the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25.  We see Jesus taking one last opportunity to teach His followers about the Kingdom by talking about "money."  Since this is a parable, the talents in this story can represent several things, including money.  That will be our focus today.  Thanks for tuning in!

View Details

Pastor Zack walks us through how the Gospel influenced the Early Church as well as our Church today!

View Details

We continue our #influencers series this week and look at 2 Timothy 2:15-26.  Paul's influence to Timothy can clearly be seen and is incredibly applicable to us today.

View Details

This week, we look to David, and ask the tough question, "What do we do when one of our influencers falls?"

View Details

Over the past several weeks we have looked at several different #influencers throughout scripture.  We have asked questions like "What happens with unused influence," and "Why did Moses listen to Jethro?"  This week we look at "why was Samuel's influence ignored?"

View Details

This week we look at an exchange between Moses and his father-in-law, Jethro.  The biggest question we hope to answer is, "Why did Moses trust the influence of Jethro?" and what does it mean for us?

Thanks for joining us as we wrap up our series in 1 John this week!

View Details

This week we will be walking through 1 John 5:6-12.  We are approaching the end of 1 John, and this week we get the sense that John is using a very Reading Rainbow'ish statement of, "You don't have to take my word for it."

View Details

Thank you for listening in!  Today we find ourselves in 1 John 3:19-24.  We will be looking at 2 different places that we as believers may find ourselves in: a place of self-condemnation or a place of confidence in our Savior.

This week we take a look at an amazing conversation between Jesus and a Pharisee named Nicodemus.  This conversation leads to one of the most often quoted verses in the entire Bible.  In order for us to understand this well-known verse, it is important for us to understand why and how it came up!

View Details

After several weeks of examining how we are set apart in specific areas, today we see in scripture how we are to be set apart in relation to ALL people.

View Details

We are continuing our "Hope for the Scattered"series today by looking at 1 Peter 3:1-7.  In this passage, Peter is letting us know that we should look at marriage differently than the rest of the world.  We are SET APART, and our marriages should reflect that!

View Details

Today, we look back over the past few months and ask, "What have we learned?"

View Details

You were not created to blend in. You were created to be set apart! Peter shows us that we can populate heaven by being good citizens, doing good, and using our freedom to be servants of God. Oh yeah, and suffering is normal. But don’t worry! We serve a God who empathizes with us, so we never suffer alone.

View Details

God is indeed building something special, and He is doing through His people.  Just like the exiles in 1 Peter, we need to know who we are and what God is doing through us.

View Details

We are in Week 2 of our walk through 1 Peter.  This week we look at Peter's message of "Be Prepared."

View Details

This week, we are kicking off a new series in 1 Peter called, "Hope for the Scattered."  Peter starts his letter with a word of encouragement.  This encouragement applies not only to the scattered believers Peter was addressing, but it applies to all believers in all places and at all times; EVEN US!  Join us, and Be Encouraged!

View Details

Are you experiencing feelings of chaos, fear, and struggling with the unknown?  It is completely OK to admit it if we are!  Today, we want to understand that these feelings during these crazy days are normal, but we also want to focus on what God can do because so many people are feeling the same way.  How should we, as Christ-followers, be prepared to ACT during these times?  Join us as we talk about "Great Possiblity" in the midst of these difficult days.

View Details

In the past month, we have felt the Chaos, Fear, and Uncertainty.  Today, we are looking to Psalm 23 to build our Confidence and Peace with God.

View Details

Today, we celebrate a Risen Savior!  Not only did Jesus conquer sin on the cross, but He defeated death and rose victoriously.  This is worthy of BIG celebration.  We will simply ask, "What does the resurrection me to me?"

View Details

This week we celebrate Palm Sunday as we look at Jesus and His prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane.

View Details

We are in week 4 of our, "Let us Pray..." series and in week 2 of our time of scattered worship due to Covid-19.  This week we take a look at how Jesus lays out framework for how we deal with our sins through prayer.

View Details

We are in our third week of our "Let Us Pray..." series, and in our FIRST week of being a scattered church due to the Corona Virus.  Today, we examine Matt 6:11 and Jesus words, "Give us this day our daily bread."

View Details

This week, amidst the thread of Covid-19, we continue in our "Let Us Pray" series.  We look at the first few verses of "The Lord's Prayer" from Matthew 6, and we examine The Position of Prayer.

View Details

This week we kick off our series, "Let Us Pray..."  Prayer seems to trip up many believers, so we wanted to take several weeks and see what Jesus had to say about prayer as well as how He did it.  Today, we start with Matt 6:5-8, and Jesus telling His followers "what not to do."

View Details

Over the past several weeks we have been exploring who we are as a church.  This week we tackle what it means to "Love the City."

View Details

We are in week 4 of our series, "Who We Are."  This we tackle what it means to Love One Another like a family.  We look at Acts 2:42-47 as an example of what it can and potentially should look like!

View Details

Our mission is to Make Disciples who Love God, Love One Another, and Love the City. Today, we look at what exactly it means to Love God, and some ways that we can actually begin to do it!

View Details

Today we ask the question, "How do we make disciples?" Last week we discussed the idea that if we are linked to Jesus by grace through faith, then our identity has been changed to that of a disciple. Today, we look into what that means and how we go about reproducing healthy disciples. The answer: We need to do it how Jesus did it!

View Details

Over the next several weeks we will be talking about who we are as a church. Origins Greenville exists to Make Disciples who Love God, Love One Another, and Love the City. This week, we look at scripture to find out what a Disciple really is.

View Details

This week we celebrate Jesus with another faith from our own city! Through worship and Scripture, we seek to understand The Church really is and what we do as The Church!

View Details

This week, we look at Jesus' "New Commandment" that He gave His disciples before He was arrested, convicted, and crucified. In order to look at that commandment well, we must first look at the actions that preceded His words.

After Agreeing with God, and praying for the things God wants, Nehemiah starts to rebuild the walls around Jerusalem! Will it be easy? Will it be hard? What does it look like when we find ourselves right in the middle of God's plan?

View Details

This week we look at a man named Nehemiah. Nehemiah was a man burdened by the broken walls (and people) of Jerusalem. As a cup-bearer for the Persian King, it was not simple task to simply leave to rebuild the city. His brokenness led to prayer, which led to boldness. Listen as we see how he prayed and as we ask ourselves what it means to us.

View Details

This week, we take a look at Jeremiah 29. Here, we find Jeremiah (a prophet to Judah) speaking to those exiled in Babylon. He is speaking on behalf of God, and giving those living in captivity instructions on how to live. In the passage we find amazing similarities between us Christ-followers and those who were in captivity in Babylon.

View Details

Today, we look at the amazing story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! We often think of this as being one of those stories that appeals just to kids, but it is RICH with wisdom on what it means to make God our one and only!

View Details

Over the past few weeks, we have learned a great deal about David. From "ruddy" shepherd to victorious king, he has shown great faith and had great success. This week we will see David falter and sin. What does he do next? How does he respond? What can we learn from it?

View Details

What does it mean to worship? Is it prescriptive or is a result of something else? In 2 Samuel 6, we see David worshiping and it sticks out! What does Worship look like for us?

View Details

We take a break today from our Old Testament series to talk through how Jesus closes the Sermon on the Mount. He has just given so much info on HOW we should live, and now He is letting us know that we can have a foundation that can withstand the rigors of life if we just HEAR and DO! But, how do we go about doing that?

View Details

We continue our "Vintage" series this week as we look at the classic account of when David met Goliath! The challenge with these super familiar passages is we often miss the details that lead up to the "high points." The goal today is act like we are hearing the passage for the first time!

View Details

This week, we relaunch our Community Groups after our summer break. This is always an exciting and long awaited time for us a church family. In preparation for this season of CG's, Pastor Stephen walks us through the idea of Christian Unity!

"We Want a King like everyone else!" We find Israel crying out to God through Samuel; they want an earthly king. They had forgotten that they already had a king, and He was also their God. This passage brings up the question of, "Will God give us what we ask for, but do not need?" Listen as we explore this passage and think well about God and His ways.

View Details

Sooner or later God is going to ask us to do something that makes little to no sense. What do we do? How do we respond? Today, we look at a time when God told Joshua to do one such thing. On paper it seemed rediculous! What was the result and what can we learn?

View Details

We are in week 7 of our "Vintage" series, and we take a look at Numbers 13. We find Israel/Moses sending 12 spies into the Promise Land. When they return, they give their report. Both the spies and the rest of Israel are faced with a choice; will they trust God or will they trust fear? This choice rests on all who follow Jesus. Listen today as we ask the question, "Do we trust God or fear?"

View Details

We all need people to speak true wisdom into our lives. How do we know when it is wisdom vs just advice? In Genesis 18 we observe an exchange between Moses and his father-in-law, Jethro. Join in and let's see what we can learn together!

We experienced a bit of technical difficulty this morning, and as a result we are missing the first 12 minutes of Audio. During that time we gave background to catch us up from where we left off the previous week in Genesis 22. We also set the stage for the birth of Moses by looking briefly at the conditions layed out in Exodus 1-2:10.

Last week we left with the big idea that when it comes to money, we are not owners but managers. God's heart is that we use what He gives us for the growth and betterment of the Kingdom. This week, we look at how we actually do that in Biblical terms.

View Details

This week, we jump right to how we think about money. Since we have been redeemed by Christ, our priorities and how we think about the things of this world should be changed. Money is no exception. Join us as we take a look at one of the last parables Jesus shared with His disciples!

View Details

We are in week 2 of talking about, "The Things We Do," because we are God's people. We take a look at God's commandment (that we should enjoy) to GO!

View Details

We are kicking off a series of sorts about The Things We Do. This is not so much the "We" of Origins, but the "We" of The Church. We are starting off the series with the fact that we, as Christ-followers, should go to the Bible frequently. Actually, we should BE in the Bible constantly. As we kick off the series, we discuss 5 reasons (non-exhaustive list) of why we should go to the Bible.

This week (after a little technical difficulty) we are looking at the idea that as a result of Jesus raising us from the dead WITH Him, we "GET TO" live our lives in a certain way. Last week, we discussed the idea that legalism says, we "HAVE TO," but the Gospel says that we "Get To."
