Hosted by Spencer Jenkins (Founder and Exective Director of Queer Kentucky) Sarah Gardiner (Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Nanny Goat Press), Beards and Lavender honors the age-old tradition of gays and lesbians standing together—married in our mutual trauma and trust. We laugh together, we cry together, and we share urinal-cake-scented bathrooms at queer bars. We’ve probably even made out a few times.
While society may have told us that Gays and Lesbians have become the oil and water of the queer community, our longstanding history of covering for each other, fighting for each other, and loving one another outweighs our media portrayal.
DJ Slim Thicc loves keeping Spencer in line and bonds with Sarah over the small Queer Femme dating pool. Thicc (Kay Meisner) talks about how being a DJ helped pave the way for her social Justice work that started in 2020 after the murder of Breonna Taylor.
